Four lost dragon guards. Three choices. Two betrayals and one secret…
Dumped on earth with three dragon’s guards, who have no idea who Isola is, isn’t what anyone had planned. With the biggest betrayal still haunting her heart, it's hard for Isola to remember what she has to do and that she has to return to Dragca. Only making her dragons remember her, isn’t as easy as she hoped. The three guards, who she knows it’s forbidden to love, are doing everything to make sure they win her heart… So, what could go wrong? With dreams of her betrayer literally haunting her, and the dangers of earth becoming a problem no one can protect her from, everything seems lost when it’s dangerous to be.
The curse must fall, like fire for ice, betrayal and death must be the price…
G. Bailey is a USA Today bestselling author of books that are filled with everything from dragons to pirates. Plus, fantasy worlds and breath-taking adventures. Oh, and some swoon-worthy men that no girl could forget. G. Bailey is from the very rainy U.K. where she lives with her husband, two children and three cheeky dogs.
I did enjoy this book, but I was a bit too slow and not much happened till the last chapter. Maybe my expectations were too high after the last book but I did expect more from this book I wanted to give it 3.5 stars but as I did enjoy it I thought it deserved a round up rather then down.
One think I did not like about this book is the character changes. Isola in particular (now 20) acts more like a hormonal teenager than she did in the last book, and she is one of the 4 who actually has her memory. The others due to memory loss can explain their actions quite easily.
There is a this book is more is a setup or filler, I can see the importance of the choice that was made in this book but, and the of the people on Earth might now be as clueless as everyone thinks. I also likes that weapon Isola chose was something she had trained with.
I still do not understand many of the characters motivations, and for every revelation there seems to be 2 more questions. The book seemed to be cruising at a comfortable 30 miles per hour, then the last chapter seems to jump to 100. I went back to make sure I did not miss something in the previous chapter.
An enjoyable book but I just wish more things happened in it. Though I am excited to see happens next. Now that the prices are in place I am expecting a lot more action from this coming war.
I really like this series, it is so fun! I like the way the relationships advanced in this one, I loved all of the dragon guards so much, I can't even pick a favorite, but if I had to I think it would be Thorne, or maybe Eli? There was a little bit of a wait while the guys recovered from the thing that happened at the end of the last book, but once it picked up, it really picked up. There is a ton of action at the end especially, the next book is going to be crazy!
Okay, I like this series. I can't wait to dive into the third book.
Wings of Fire carries on where the first book, Wings of Ice left off. You find Isola back in the human world with zero memory of what happened in the first book. She's back to living in the same house and going to the same school. However, one day her sister comes to see her (in disguise of course) and dose her weird ass magic thing. She makes her remember everything.
This whole thing happens when her guards show up to her school mysteriously. Well, they don't remember each other.. but when she gets her memories back she obviously does. However, she can't let them know how they know each other. She has to pretend that this is the first time.. but then things kind of go a little crazy.
They move in with her and of course.. sparks fly. Boy, do they fly between her and the guys. Isola's life is still in danger which is crazy. The entire time I'm trying to figure out who the hell is trying to kill her.. but it's okay because she can protect herself with some awesome ice powers.
Overall, the ending is what's keeping me hooked. Although I do love how the romance has picked up more. I can't wait to see what the next book will bring me.
We get some more depth into Issy in this book, and (thank God), we get a couple of years between book one and book two.
The romance part of this series makes an appearance, but really, the plot is what keeps this series moving forward for me.
I'm more interested in the overarching world than I am in Issy or any of the characters. The rebellion and the Seers and the dark vs light was a much bigger draw than a girl trying not to fall in love, but maybe that's just me?
I'm also a little bit confused by all the curses. Do we WANT the curses to fall? Do we not? Only parts of a prophesy are true? I don't know what I'm supposed to take from all of the prophesies anymore.
Isola’s memories are restored and she remembers who she actually is and who has betrayed her. Will Issy ever be able to forgive him. Unfortunately her Dragon guards - Elais, Dagan and Korbin have no idea who she is, and she now needs to work on how to get their memories back. However as each day passes her feelings for her guards are growing and she knows the curse will come true. Such a wonderful second book with the story primarily based in Earth not Dragca this time. Make sure you’ve read Wings of Ice before starting Wings of Fire.
It always frustrates me when the second book in a series is a filler story. Where the characters at the end of the 2nd book are pretty much where they left off in the first book. Like nothing they did mattered the entire story. That’s what this was. The only thing we really learn from this book that’s plot related is is that Thornes mom is Dark and that this isn’t a battle between ice and fire but a battle between light and dark. Which the first book already implied. I really feel that this story was only written because the author maybe wanted to show the boys growing closer to Isola. Like she maybe wanted to get rid of the insta love illusion or something. That being said I’m glad now we can continue the plot line and Bee is back!
Sooooo, this one really didn't do it for me. I wanted to give three stars. But I liked the bit of smut we got so I had to up it a little. :D
But I just feel like this book really wasn't necessary? I don't know, maybe it's me. But I really didn't enjoy this one too much. Even though you get to see more into her relationship with the guys, I just wasn't all in. Don't get me wrong, I devoured this book. But I wanted more. So I feel like I whipped through this book to be able to get to the next ones. :)
Okaaay. Looks like Thorne has his own reason for betraying Isola and the other three hot guards but for some reason this book has been less appealing. I can’t pin point which part I started losing interest but something was missing. I’m still deciding if I should continue the next book.
Helpless frustration is what I felt while reading this book. I so wanted it to be better than first,I hoped for a reason not to give up on these series . Author gave me none . It is filled with stupid mistakes like classmates that should have graduated years ago still being in high school. Am I to believe Melodie is so powerful, she can alter whole towns memories and any possible proof they may have(accidental photos etc.) remotely? The most I hate I about stories is when they stop making sense. It didn't make sense in the first book and even less in this book. I don't even care to know what will happen next.
The book kicks off with Issy back on Earth without her memories and an alternate history. Although she gets these back pretty quickly her dragon guard has no idea who and what they are so it’s up to her to find a way to remind them. I’m still reeling from the betrayal even though the potential for redemption is there. The ending leaves you dying to know more! Highly recommend for lovers of dragons, rh and a damn good pnr
2020 Review I have a BIGGG problem with this book. It was so messed up that Isola slept with Korbin and furthered her relationship with Elias and Dargan when they didn't have their memories, and didn't know what was at stake if they fell for Isola. I guess the guys did decide while they were in the dungeons that they would be with her, but still. She didn't know that. It felt wrong and that she was taking advantage of them (especially Korbin) cause to me they felt like completely different guys than they actually are.
Honestly, I was really disappointed by pretty much everything. Which was so weird because I loved the first book. Isola didn't even think that the guys might be in danger when she was attacked. Hell she didn't even think she herself was, and didn't give it a second thought! Even though daggers were literally thrown at her from the sky. But oh, it's nothing to worry about. -_-
I'm ready for Isola to become the powerful queen that she is, and see her kick Tatarina's ass!
I LOVED the first book and was really excited to dive into this one. Which is why I’m kind of disappointed. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but most of this book was soooo slow. It was good and really steamy. But it focused more on the relationships than the actual dragon part. Don’t get me wrong I love the steamy scenes but I also want to dragon action! I didn’t really like how Isola slept with Korbin and had relationships with Dagon and Eli when they didn’t know who they really are or what that would mean for them. Other than that, this book was amazing. The guys finally remembered who they are! Oh and just something I wondered about. How did Micheal know that Isola was a dragon and had a drug to knock her out? Is that was Isolas friend’s dad worked on? Does humans know about dragons??They are finally back in Dragca and things are happening. That last chapter was action packed. And of course, ended on a cliffhanger. *sigh* I am starting to expect that from G Bailey’s books. But I love it. Oh and just something I wondered about. How did Micheal know that Isola was a dragon and had a drug to knock her out? Is that was Isolas friend’s dad worked on? Do humans know about dragons?? Now I just have to wait a month for the next book 😭
So the writing got worse. It felt so stiff. Like when someone who’s learning English tries to explain something and either leaves out words or uses too many and it just barely makes sense.
It was hard to escape in this book. I know that with a great editor it could be so much more. The plot is amazing, the premise and imagination behind the book is brilliant. That’s not the problem. The problem is reading the middle school level writing, wishing it would stop giving me a headache and live up to what it so obviously could be.
The Stars I’ve given this book are solely rewards for the characters themselves. Because even when the writing confuses the shit out of you and has so many holes it’s basically a sinking ship, the characters make up for it.
I want to see how the story ends. None of the books are too long. I’m thinking about just skimming them to get how it ends. But I will probably just take a break and read something less painful and then come back to this series. The plot is too beautiful to leave behind unfinished.
Isola finds herself back on Earth. But this time things are different. There are three protectors that do not remember her, or their duties. She is tasked with trying to find a way to help them remember. Also trying to figure out how to help her people and take back her throne. All while going to school, dodging assassins, trying not to fall for her guards, but failing. Especially given that they are pursuing her, letting her know that they each want her, and they will not let anything get in their way. How hard should she fight against them loving her, when it is just what her dragon and her both want?
Book two of the Protected by Dragons is just as fast paced, attention grabbing and every bit as good as the first. We start of where book one leaves off. After the surprise ending, Isola and her men are sent to earth. Her men have lost their memory. She needs them to remember their past so that they can return to Dragca. But getting them to remember is proving to be very difficult. She is determined, but so are the guys. They see something they want, and they will fight tooth and nail to make sure that they win her heart. A lot happens in Wings of Fire, we find out why Isola was betrayed by someone she trusted. Or was she? That love will always come through, even though it may have been forgotten for a time. That maybe it is okay to forgive, and that we each have a destiny . Sometimes dreams are more than just dreams. And that Isola and her men will fight to save Dragca and their love. Also just adding in here that I freaking love these covers. Serious cover love going on.
This is the second book in the Protected by Dragons series, a brand new series from the amazingly talented author that is G. Bailey. Book one was only just released the day before this one so we're incredibly lucky to get the first two books of the series so close to each other.
Wings of Fire doesn't start right off where Wings of Ice finished, but from what we've read at the end of book 1 it sure does feel like it. I was actually pretty shocked at the beginning of the book as I wasn't expecting that so thought it was a great twist that the author bought in. I really liked the way the author twisted the relationships around in this book from the first one and it was cleverly written the way they had to rebuild everything. I'm very much enjoying this series and two books in two days is awesome and a luxury, although one I'm sure we shouldn't get used to. I love anything with dragons in and I really liked the way dragons are portrayed in this series. I also liked the MC, Isola, she was a lot stronger in this book than the first, I guess because she's needed to be but I liked her character growth. Of course the men in her harem were hot, and I feel that the author has a thing for a bad boy which is perfect as I do too.
Am looking forward to reading book three when it's released. I'm really looking forward to reading it actually as I loved this book and found it exciting. Another five stars from me.
This book was probably worse then the last. It’s a little annoying having to muddle through grammatical errors and ect. Couple that with the fact this story just starts out so slow. It took the whole book for the guys to get their memories back. It just felt like the book was so wishy washy. I feel like the author does not have the type of writing talent to write without having to articulate every single thing. It comes off as repetitive. As a reader, I do not have to be told every single thing, it starts to sound robotic or like Siri is reading me a story. The book could be much better and could even be great but it is poorly followed through. Also, I am not a fan of how the men have to sacrifice their shifter selves because of a curse. I’m sure that hopefully it’d be rectified, but still, it just seems so unfortunate. These prophecies that the author made up are again too many and stupid. So if a guard falls for royalty they get their shifter stripped away, then if you shirk your duty you magically die. I’m sorry but they’re both really dumb. And again I don’t understand why (hopefully this will make sense in later books) what was the point in her friend Hallie continuing to talk about her dads secret work or whatever, then the almost rape scene which was so far out of realm from what is going on in the book. It all just felt so poorly written, put together, and edited.
UghYes I knew Thorne wasn't a bad guy... well at least to completely. This book resolved a lot of the issues in the first book, mainly Isola being betrayed and her and the guys losing their memories. It was really interesting because this book saw them return to Earth, something I didn't really see coming until the end of the first book but really enjoyed. I was glad that G Bailey didn't just ignore Isola's ties to the woman who raised her on Earth, but actually made her an important character in this story. We also got to see more of Melody, Isola's half sister who I really like. She is a very important character and Issy and the guys would't've made it far without her. Just a small warning about a possible trigger... there is an almost rape scene in this story, which definitely leaves an impact on Isola. This story ends with her and the guys returning to Dragca, where it looks like they'll have a lot of work to do before her kingdom will be at peace. I can't wait to read book 3.... unfortunately I have two months to wait :/ But knowing G Bailey I'm sure it will be very worth the wait!!!
Isola gets I rude awakening when her supposed friend Melody gives her back her memories and realizes that her three dragon guards don't remember her on Earth. Now Isola needs to find a way to make all three of them remember her so she can go back to her home and take control of her thrown and her people.
But the longer is Isola is around Elias, Dagan and Korbin, the more she is risking her heart in their heart and essentially their dragon. Isola is not sure how to make them remember but she may be dooming everyone in the process...
O! M! G! This book was amazing! A perfect sequel from the 1st novel! Just as much tension and adventure and excitement. I loved that the boys had no memory of Isola so they were persuing her hardcore. No one is strong enough to resist them when they are on a mission!
I'm so glad i found this series and it has definitely become an all time favorite. And G. Bailey is becoming a must have author for me to snatch up all of her books. I see a hole in my bank account now because of her :)
A definite must read series and author! Go down the rabbit hole today! :D
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*** I am not much about dragons, but I am on this review team which I love and figured why not give it a shot. I was in love with this story! Sometimes I think you can get way too into the fantasy world and that can turn me off. So if you are like me and like paranormal but not fantasy, this is a great series to try! You get a taste of fantasy but not too much! This book is amazing! With Isola and her guards memories wiped and back on Earth, there is quite a change from book 1. Isola learns she has a sister, who was helping the wicked Ice Queen due to being threatened. She now helped Isola remember everything they covered up and now it is up to Isola to help her guards all remember her. Fate is pushing them all together once again, but Isola struggles to make them remember. Once they do remember, they will do anything to help Isola since they all love her. If you have not grabbed your copy to start this series, I suggest you go do so now!

Story Line Overview: Isola Dragonice is the last female ice dragon and the princess to the throne on Dragca or was until the throne was usurped (by one of the guards that was supposed to be protecting her). Cast to Earth along with her three remaining guards, Isola has lived as a human ignorant to her lineage and the power she possesses. That is until an unexpected ally helps her to recover her memories. Now Isola is determined to get back what she lost. First, she will need to remind her three dragon guards who they are and what she means to them. My review: I really go wound up in the family lines of this one. Isola was helped by a sister that she know she had. She was betrayed by Thorne, her step brother, who is being controlled by his mother. The relationship between Isola and her guards gets a bit steamy at times…
Overall I liked this book and look forward to finding out what will happen to Isola and her dragon guard.
I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a good steamy romance and dragons.
I’m so confused and intrigued. I want to know who exactly Hallie is. And what in the ever lovin’ life is Tatarina. J mean clearly she is evil, but was she always that way. And her sister Esmeralda, wooo that broad is crazy.
But I cannot wait to find the answers to these questions I have. Because I have some suspicions about some things. But I know I have to read a little to find the answers to them. Which I will start tomorrow when I get off work since I just spent 3 hours reading in the middle of night when I should be sleep. But it was just so good I couldn’t put it down. And then when I realized I was so closed I was like I got to finish reading it now.
So enjoy the read because it’s a freaking awesome 2nd book and I’m going to go to bed happy thanks to this read because that’s important.
This is an absolutely captivating series by G.Bailey and to me book 2 is even better than book 1. I love the exciting world that G. Bailey has created and once I started reading it was impossible to put the book down. Isola is great in this book and really start to see the connection with the three guardians develop further, but it takes so long for the guys to get their memory back. By the end if this book you know that things are going to be getting worse for Isola, Elias, Korbin, Dagan and Thorne before things are settled in their world. Thorne’s mother and aunt are getting worse and worse and i am unsure if everyone is going to survive by the end of the series! This book is full of action, dragons and romance. A great book for lovers of shifters and RH cannot wait for the next book!!
This book is just as good, if not better, than the first. There's more drama, relationships develop and don't even get me started on Thorne. The guys are all still amazing. If I could 'surprise adopt' them all, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Even Thorne. Betrayal, be damned! The MC totally rocks. She's strong, brave and has a heart of gold. The story line is very interesting. There are plenty of challenges that are overcome and more to be had. I'm loving where it's going and am very much looking forward to what will happen next in the series. May is too far away for the next book! *hysterically sobs*
Five stars promptly given and would highly recommend!
I was a little skeptic about spending the majority of the book without the guys having their memories, because I was afraid of them losing their fire and connection. I was proved wrong. It was nice to see them interact without feeling the weight of the curse. The character developments and relationship developments flowed naturally. It felt more believable to see everything unfold without the curse being the forefront of everyone’s mind. My only wish, though it feels bad saying it with what triggers it, I wish the scenes where they get their memories and the aftermath was a bit longer. It just felt a little wham bam thank you mam. Still loved it though. These cliffhangers will be the death of me.

All I’m going to say about this book and that is I thought it was totally amazing. This book basically picks up where book one leaves off. I enjoyed the story-building and the world created here. And I liked that the story is finally taking shape and the reverse harem is not overshadowing. G. Bailey definitely knows how to hook her readers and take them on an exciting ride. So yes I most definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in crawling into this story and getting lost within its pages. But if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you’ll get probably get a little confused as to who’s who and what’s what.
I'm a bit confused with the timeline in this book.
By which I mean it's wrong.
If Isola was 17 at the start of book 1 (which she was because she turns 18 at the academy when Thorne gives her a ring as a gift) that would make her a junior/senior in high school. This book takes place two years after she turns 18 and she's back in high school which okay I could have let go because dragons age slowly so who would be able to tell plus all Melody's magic screwing with everyone's brains. What really throws everything out of whack is Micheal. Like how is he (and by extension Hallie, since Isola mentions she's seen Hallie around school when she was there the first time with Jace) still in high school? Shouldn't he be in college by now?
The wow factor of this series continues where the first left off! I am pleasantly surprised with the direction of this book. I read a lot and usually you get hints of where a book is heading but with this book I have been wrong every time I think something is going to happen a certain way and I love it! I enjoyed how we got to see Isola and her dragon guards build their relationship more in this book, I think it was much needed. The ending is perfection and it makes me so anxious to get the third book! The only thing I'm left wondering is how Micheal knew she was a dragon and got around with weakening Isola at the party?!

I have to say that this, the 2nd book in the series, was very well written but sometimes confusing. The overall book continues the story as everyone is back on Earth after Thorne's betrayal. However , their memories aren't intact and time has passed. The theme of this book is getting everyone's memories back. There isn't as much action in this book but there is more intimate relations and we learn the true extent of the harem's love.
I did have to re-read the 1st book since it had been a while and I had started to get confused with the timeline. Most people probably won't have that issue but I read and review about 10 books a week.
