Patricia Thomas (b. 1948) is a health journalist and professor of journalism at the University of Georgia, where she holds the Knight Chair In Health And Medical Journalism and directs the MA program in medical journalism. She is the author of the award-winning Big Shot: Passion, Politics, and the Struggle for an AIDS Vaccine (2001), and contributor to numerous edited volumes. As an undergraduate, Thomas studied at Shimer College, completing her degree in English at Stanford University.
