A well researched and well written review of the Doowop scene in Chicago in the 1950's and early 1960's. The first half of the book, dealing with the major record labels and recognizable groups, was throughly engaging. Then I got bogged down a bit reading about the lesser known labels and completely unknown artists but I kept reading and it came back around to some very interesting information about the clubs, disc jockeys and radio shows. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.
