He only needed to accomplish one good deed, but there's an entire town that needs his help, along with one hopeless lass who captures his heart. Located in the Sierra Nevada, the tiny town of Delight has fallen on hard times. Once a bustling little ski village, it has become obsolete as people pass it by for the larger ski resorts in the area. Cassie Simmons has lived her entire life in Delight, but she's not immune to the hardships felt by everyone in town. She's been on a downward spiral ever since her divorce. Her anger and sadness coupled with the dwindling customers to her bookstore have her giving up all hope of ever being happy again. It'll take a miracle, or perhaps Ross Seton, to save her.
I love this series. The majority of the series is authored by L.L. Muir, with additional books by Diane Darcy, Jo Jones, Cathy MacRae and Melissa Mayhue, and they are all fabulous, fun reads. This latest addition, by this author, just did not do it for me for many reasons. I have never been brutal or unfair in my reviews. I am merely a voracious reader and admire anyone who takes on the monumental task of the actual writing of a book. So I will refrain from any further comments.
Help to a list soul comes out of the midst of Culloden!
A lonely and vengeful woman finds help for herself and her village from Ross Seton former resident of Culloden Moor after he rescued her from a car accident!! There was love at first sight between the two as well as the villagers from which a communal inspired was born! A real feel-good story and I love this author!
A ghost of a different kind Well written story by Jennae Vale. She always knows how to keep her readers enthralled, no matter what type of story it is. Gotta love highland romance. After reading this cute story, I reflected on it; thus writing more on this review.
Cassie just wanted to survive and basically she was... barely. Her ex left her, she is losing her home, that belongs to both of them, and her store is going down quickly. Until Ross, the rugged Scot who saves her and makes her swoon. Just lovely. Not the typical of her writings but so well worth it.
This was given to me by the author and I am volunteering a honest review. Thank you so much
I love anything Scottish. I've been reading scottish love story's for almost 40 years. This is the first time I've ever read a story with so many storyline. I love how different authors who are writing the story add their own special mark in the stories. Changing the lives of the ghosts and every life they touch during the story. So far I'm at book 49 but I had to reread this one. I'm always impressed with the feelings of love, commitment and without all the need for sexual Content. I would let my 10 & 12 yr granddaughters read these without a worry..
I received this as an ARC. I do not usually read contemporary stories, I very much prefer the innocence of historical novels but I loved this story. Ms Vale has a way of incorporating both eras into one story. This novella is short and sweet and clean but has everything you want to keep you reading. I read this story in one sitting because it pulled you in and kept you there till it was finished.
Cute story, but too much dialogue, zero asventure, mystery, or intrigue and a little annoying with the"He said", "she said", "They did". It was hard to get absorbed into the story or feel the characters had any personality. I actually only gave it 3 stars because I love this series, but this book and story, not so much. Ross had no depth and whatshername was pretty annoying.
This is another winner. This series of ghost and love stories have been a great joy to read. I loved every book in this series. The different writers have given this series a life of its own. I highly recommend everyone of the 39 books. Diana Romano
This is a good story, similar to a country song about a women getting over her cheating husband and a small town in need of help. Highlander Ross comes to town and Cassie is blown away. The towns people fall in love will the Highlander and feel there is hope. One problem, he is a ghost there for two days. Read the book and see how it ends.
Ross, Cassie and the town of Delight are enchanting. The book was an easy read and a good story. I enjoy witches, time travel and a good love story. This book provided all my loves. Who can resist a handsome Scott in a Kilt? I don’t think you’ll be disappointed is you add this to your too read list. Enjoy!
I finally read Ross and Cassie’s story and am very glad I did. Just like all the other stories set in the beautiful town of Delight it catches the readers attention immediately. The characters are full of life and the setting is descriptive and transports the reader to another time and place. Great story, highly recommend!
I loved this book. Ross was full of hate and bitterness, wearing a constant frown and thinking of revenge against the Prince. Cassie's husband had cheated on her with her best friend, so she now spends her time wallowing in self pity and forgetting to pay the bills. Until they meet. Very sweet story and how they both change for the better.
A ghost got two days to be human by a sweet witch. He is to do a good deed. He met a lady and saved her from an accident. He even helped her to feel good about herself. Author Jennae Vale turned the tables around and had the ghost fall in love so the witch allowed him to stay human with his love.
This series is wonderful. Highlanders and love is a combo you can’t go wrong with. Only problem is the stories end too soon. Can’t wait for the next ghost to make an appearance.
I love Ross and he deserved a longer story with a little more plot or detail. Ross is such a great character -his story shouldn't have been rushed or short-term Ross deserved more😢
She is a woman who is hurting because of her ex and he is a highlander ghost who is to do a good deed. He save her from a certain death and together they save their town.
I really enjoy these quick Scottish romances. A good ghost story with history behind it is always great. To see Cassie become alive under the ghost of Ross's love after her failed marriage should nose well for everyone.
This is a wonderful book and the characters are Vivid and well done. Jeanne Vale is a fantastic writer and one that I will follow and read everything that she writes. She is a great lady.
This was difficult for me to read. I kept trying to like the two main characters but it was next to impossible. I tried putting myself in Cassie’s shoes, and I hope to never be there, but I just couldn’t get behind he behavior.
I am an avid reader.I manage one to two books a day!I am absolutely in love with this series. It is pure genius! The authors are genuinely ingenious and not repetitive!
I just loved your story and the love you put into it, I have almost all of series and I'm collecting more of them. I thank you for from the bottom of my heart. Ada G
I have Scottish blood in me and these books are a wonderful way to learn about the history of Scotland. It was a terrible era for the people of Scotland. Thank You!
This was a fun quick romantic read that also had a powerful message. This, along with the other Ghosts of Culloden Moor books, are just reads if you love history, Scotland, and romance.
I loved the way you could feel the trust and know that both characters were ready to put aside anger & revenge to open a door full of unexpected opportunities . Great story
I know that it is difficult to create a story with a lot of depth in 80 pages. Having said that, this story was just okay. The relationship between Cassie and Ross was too superficial, missing any kind of romantic tension and chemistry.
I love it when a ghost leaves the moor! Ross is model handsome and helps to save Cassie, a lonely divorcee and her small tourist town. Sweet paranormal romance.
Another entertaining evenings read with the boys from the moor. But the storyline goodlooking stranger in town motivates girl to pull her finger out...did not really grab me.
