Rate this book
Paris, June 1940 : Marie Laurent, the owner and manager of a Parisian cabaret and luxury brothel, watches bitterly with Mélanie, her teenage adopted daughter, as German troops triumphantly march down the Champs-Élysées. Both Marie Laurent and Mélanie vow to do what they can to resist the German occupiers and help free France and their beloved city. They may not have weapons at first, but they have other ways to get at German soldiers. Marie Laurent has her young and beautiful strippers, while Mélanie has powers and magical abilities beyond human comprehension. Mélanie, whose original name was Delicia, will soon unleash the powers of Hell on the German occupiers. SINNER AT WAR is a prequel to the novels ETERNAL SINNER and AMERICAN SINNER.

In this book Michel Poulin tells the story of the young succubus Delicia during the second world war. As in all his books, Michel succeeds in spreading out his knowledge and research as a solid basis of the story. The book gives a good insight in what is was like to live in occupied Paris. There is even a small sidestep to the appalling conditions of life in Auschwitz. Against this background, the heroine uses her powers to thwart the German army, which results in a satisfying punishment of the bad guys. Entertaining and well-written story.
