The country is divided, separate, and segregated. In the West, techies with amazing technical aptitude are feared and hated; in the East, mages with spectacular supernatural powers are regulated and permitted. Caught between these two worlds, non-magical, non-technical mundanes try to survive from day to day. Eden has lived her life as a mundane, thinking she has no tech or magic. A tragic accident as a teenager leaves her with only one arm and little hope for her future beyond manual labor and her art. When strange things begin to happen and secrets are revealed, she is drawn into a new world and introduced to new friends, including Alec and Alena. She wants to be a part of their life and explore her attraction to both of them, but their budding relationship is threatened when strange creatures attack the sanctuary they’ve created. Meanwhile, evil Magitechs are rising – pitting mage against techie. A war is brewing, and the unlikely heroes must embrace their roles or there is little hope for peace, for Eden and her friends, or for anyone else in the country. **This is the second book in the Magitech Series, an urban fantasy with a romantic subplot. This book can be read without reading the first book, but the experience and background will be more complete if Worlds Collide is read first. It includes a bisexual MC, polyamorous FFM triad, and scenes intended for 18+**
whoa!! what a GREAT addition to the magitech series!!! i absolutely loved this book just as much as i loved the first one. at first i wasn't sure how the characters from the first book was going to be integrated into the second book, if at all...but serena worked her magic perfectly! in this second book, more of the magitech story unfolds, and we begin to see the bigger picture. i cannot wait for the next book!!! i'm anxiously awaiting it :)
Eden grew up as a mundane. No magic and not a techie. However, when someone breaks into her home one day and writes the word Mage across her wall, things change. She finds herself seeking safety within a safe house for other mages. It is within these walls that her past is unraveled and secrets are brought forth.
This story seemed to have a slow start to me. It picked up eventually, but it was hard to stay focused on it.
This storyline does tie in to the first book, but is told from a different stand point. We meet new characters that will eventually come together with those from the first book.
Told from multiple points of view. You have your main three characters from this story, plus a few from characters in the first book.
Ends on a slight cliffhanger. Not enough of one to have you left with questions, but one that lets you know that more will be coming in the following books.
I'm assuming the three main characters in this story will be in a menage. Two females and one male. Nothing really happens in this book when it comes to intimacy, but it is hinted at enough that I hope we will see the relationship develop in other books.
I'm just not exactly sure how I feel about this book. I had really enjoyed the characters from the first book and while we do see them in this book, and even get a few POV's from them, it isn't the same. It's not that I'm against series that are portrayed this way. I actually have one that is told like this and I really enjoy it. Just on the fence about this one and how things will play out.
I'm curious to see if each book in the series will follow a different person/couple(s) around so we will get a more all around idea of what is going on. I can see where that will happen.
I will continue reading the story. I'm curious to see where all this will lead.
I would recommend. I think it is different and not like anything out there right now. At least not anything that I have read.
Although I found the first two chapters hard to get through, and that might have been because I was in book burnout, I put it down for. Couple of days and picked it again. All I can say was I am so glad I did. This is the second book in the series and focuses on a different relationship, though David and Janira from the first book make an appearance later on. The story continues on with the fight between mages and techies intensifying. The characters were all well written and likeable and I like how the rearionship is growing instead of jumping straight in, the mystery and intrigue of the story keep you interested and wanting more. Looking forward to book 3. Highly recommended.
I seriously love this series so far, the characters are freaking fantastic, the magic and Technology usage is brilliant, the conflict and battle is intricate and intelligent. There is humor, sexual tension, steamy scenes, seamless transitions not only from character to character but from the cast of characters in book one to the cast of book two, the easy addition of several new characters and all the complex twist and turns in the plot! The ending just added a whole new twist and I can't wait to find out how that unravels in book three!
Really?! Someone named Trump(ass) wanting to build a wall? This book was really good but it definitely lost two stars just for political references like that. I would definitely recommend if you can ignore that snide little reference. I don't care what your political viewpoint in the real world is, keep it out of your books. We get enough of that nonsense in the media.
Otherwise, I can't wait for the next one to see where the story goes from here. Hopefully she finishes Eden's story as it didn't feel quite complete.
With her Magitech series, Ms. Lindhal has created a wonderful series that drew me in from the start. Excellent and intriguing world-building, highly likeable characters and a strong plot come together to give readers an intense and spot-on experience. I enjoyed the character's chemistry and found that the FFM triad's relationship was portrayed efficiently and in an inspiring fashion. I enjoyed the humor but also the sexual tension, as well as the plot twists. This book paves the way for a thrilling conclusion that I can't wait to read!
Imagine being born into a world where some people have magic and some people have tech, but you have neither. Having lost her arm in a childhood accident, Eden struggles to find her place unaware that she is a heroine with love in her future.
I really enjoyed losing myself in this story it was a little slower than the first but it had good twist and good character build up. I liked the twist that came.with this book and I am thoroughly looking forward to the next book.... I would recommend.reading this book
