RISE tells the inspirational true story and remarkable journey of two time Olympian and 4 time Pan AM medalist Jessica Phoenix.
“This is a story about trial and triumph. It’s about a small-town girl with big dreams and the faith to realize them. It’s about fighting through life-threatening injuries and injustice to achieve a greater goal — and doing so with a level of determination, confidence, and grace that shines bright. As Jessica Phoenix’s sister, I’ve been privy to the backstory of how a Canadian Olympian is made… It’s a powerful blueprint that we can all use to overcome the inevitable curve-balls life throws at us.” — Julie Fitz-Gerald
This book was really good and inspiring I found the morals and quotes very in tune to the book as well. Jessica’s life is almost like a story with conflicts and problems that I love to read about and figure out how she fixed them. The only thing I didn’t really like was how I didn’t understand all of the horse talk. I’m not a rider or anything so it could get confusing for me. I thought that the book being written like an article was really fun. I often don’t read newspapers but when I do I really like the writing style. I would defiantly love to read more from this author! This was a great story!
