The battle the pack have all been waiting for is now upon them. Their enemy advances closer as even the world around them falls to total annihilation. Jesse and Micah try to grasp the severity of the situation while still keeping everyone safe, but soon learn that is not possible. Pulling on their love for one another in hopes that it will see them through, Micah and Jesse step out onto the field of battle, along with those they love, and hold onto their faith that Fate knew what she was doing when she chose them. As the battle ensues, many surprises are revealed, but a world of heartbreak shatters their resolve. In the end, will they stand victorious or will Hades win and bring the world to its knees in darkness for eternity? When all is said and done, when the battle is over and the smoke clears, only one remains standing, in a field of blood, but is it one on the side of good or evil?
[Siren Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, shape-shifter, vampires, M/M, HEA]
So much more than I’d expected, so much better and so much worse. And although the author stated that she’d cried her eyes out writing this book, I swore that I would not…and I failed. I was actually reading it on a plane and had to stop, compose myself, start reading, and stop again…repeat that over and over again. Ugh, it was so awful but so good at the same time. Brilliant ending to the paranormal war and much different than I’d ever imagined.
This was brutal to read in so many ways. Watching the devastation through Micah’s eyes just about killed me. We all knew that some of our favorites would not survive the paranormal war, but . If you have not read this book, please stop reading this review and pick up the book. One must experience this for themselves to get the full effect. The good and the bad.
But, as with all things paranormal, there is always a chance that things are not as they seem, or some God or other mythical creature with amazing powers, can turn things around. But for Micah, to live through this, , and forever have that memory in his head and his heart, just harsh man…way too harsh for an alpha who gave everything for his Jesse, for his family and friends, and for his pack. I know it ended on a positive note, but if Micah doesn’t end up with PTSD after all that he’d witnessed and experienced, I will be amazed.
I have no idea how the author can top this one, but I am willing to wait and find out.
Rating: 4 stars Well the final battle is finally here. It was worth the wait. I found the story highly engrossing and couldn’t put it down once I started it. I actually finished it in one sitting without being distracted and that’s unusual for me. I love both Micah and Jesse and was glad that this book was written from their perspective. I really hope that this is not the end of the Angel Pack or the spin off series. I want to read more from these people and there are still those that need their HEA. I just want another set of villains or problems for them to work through.
Overall, I highly recommend this series and this book in particular.
I absolutely loved this story. It has it all from funny moments to an epic battle. It made me laugh and tear up and broke my heart. This is an amazing series totally worth the read.
It took me months to read this book. I kept putting it off. I did not want to see the end of all the guys. This author did a superb job writing this book. She nailed it perfectly. I now understand, lots of tissues and crying. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the ending, the very last couple of pages, Left me hanging. Too many loose ends. I highly recommend this entire series!! It's a true adventure.
