Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.
Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.
I really enjoyed this installment and how I could relate to Beckett so much with his despise of Valetine's Day. While I despise the day for other reasons it was a bit refreshing to read these feelings in a graphic novel. Plus the side stories were quite cute and enjoyable.
Beckett is so funny! Yeah, Valentine is a bit hard when you're lonely and I loved how he didn't because too bitter about it, ruining it for his friends who had someone to spend the day with.
Sascha is the most adorable creature ever. He got so much chocolate and was in sweets coma for the entire comic. I love him!
Jory and Hunter being all gross lovey-dovey made me giggles. They are so cute!
I think we have too little Aziz and I need more Aziz! He is so sweet and now he is in loooooove. Awwww! So much love for this boy and this comic. I never want it to end!
This issue was everything I hoped it would be. Some characters are lovey-dovey, others are distressed at all this love nonsense, and there's some backstage magic. A few new characters and a whole lot of character development.
Hunter and Jory are so fluffy. OTP!!! The first issue in this was really great. Beckett is so over Valentine's and I feel like a lot of us have been there. I also consider going full supervillain sometimes so that part was great. I need more of this series in my life.
This collection of stories has everything you could want from our boys. Valentine's schmoop, Valentine's bitterness, candy comas. Sweet, sad, salty, and everything in between.
How long until the next full volume of the series, exactly?
A collection of Valentine's related shorts all compiled into one little volume. As expected, this was stupid cute. The dynamic between all of the characters continues to be charming and the humor is on point. It's a quick and easy read that will also make you smile.
I love this is issue so much, and Beckett is a clear self insert for Rian (including the "diet cola") which was adorable. all the excessive PDgay was much needed.
I think this was my favorite out of all the backstagers. I am a sucker for love and romance and valentine’s day more than scary stuff. It was also funny and cute.
