It’s been a rough two years for Meredith Wallace. Running away from a loving family to live across the country with her boyfriend was a bad idea. She went from bright and full of possibilities to beaten and broken. When her situation gets worse, Meredith knows it’s time to go home, even if her family never forgives her for the hurt she caused. Beck Layton is a horrible person. Everyone knows it, especially him. Every day is a challenge to forget the past, to dull the pain. After blacking out and waking up in a seedy hotel with women he doesn’t remember, Beck decides maybe his life isn’t worth it. Just before he makes his decision final, he finds someone who needs him. She needs saving but may end up rescuing him instead.
This is the 5th book in this amazing series, and is Meredith and Beck’s story, and what a story it is! Meredith is in an abusive relationship, until she has had enough and runs. Beck is a bad boy playboy, who will readily admit to his faults, and when he meets Meredith, he is protective of her, and the chemistry between them is steamy. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a beautifully written story which flows seamlessly, and is filled with angst, twists, drama, and is an emotional read. I was totally captivated throughout, and I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.
This was a really good book. I haven’t read this author before but I loved the. Characters, the plot, banter and that there wasn’t too much drama. I was a little annoyed that Meredith kept pushing Beck alway or saying that he doesn’t need to step in. It got to be very repetitive even when Beck told her what he wanted. I plan go back and read the books with that secondary characters books because I totally fell for them too. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Beck Layton is probably one of the most misunderstood characters in this whole series. He is drowning in the horrors of his past and using drugs and alcohol as a way to self-medicate. He is barely holding on, waking up with strange women in his bed and having no recollection of the night before. Meredith Wallace's life is falling apart. She is living with her drug addicted boyfriend, who uses and abuses her and her future is looking pretty bleak. She had cut-off her family when she ran away with her boyfriend and truly feels alone. A positive pregnancy test turns Meredith's world upside down. Knowing she can't have a baby with her abusive drug-addicted boyfriend she leaves her boyfriend and seeks solace in her hometown. Meredith has no idea how her family will react to seeing her or to the news of her pregnancy, as she hasn't talked to them in ages. To say that both of these characters are working through enormous issues, would be an understatement. While the odds may be stacked against them, this novel proves that people can change, love at first sight does exist and if you want something bad enough you will do anything in your power to get it! Up until this point, Beck has been the most hated character of this series, however I can tell you my opinion of him has since changed. All it took was for him to meet a woman that he could imagine spending the rest of his life with and he went to drastic measures to change his life around. It wasn't easy for him, and the people in his life greatly doubted him at times, but he really did change. Beck and Meredith face immense challenges in their relationship, but no matter what happens, they seem to get through it and come out stronger. I can't say enough good things about this book! It is my new favourite of the series and I'm claiming Beck as my book boyfriend!!
I can’t believe I’ve finally reached the end of the Broadway Series! It’s been such a fun and wild ride and book 5 doesn’t disappoint.
Meredith returns home after a long two years away when life has thrown her more than she can handle. The last thing she expected was to fall, literally into the hands of another man. Meredith’s life is more complicated than anyone could imagine and when Beck enters the picture, it’s game over. Will Beck turn out to be the knight in shining armor Meredith never saw coming? There’s only one way to find out…
Now I’ll be honest, getting to know Beck from the previous stories, I wasn’t 100% sure about him or whether or not his character could be redeemed, and boy was I glad to be proven wrong. I loved seeing Beck’s world get knocked off its axis. Not only did meeting Meredith change his ways for the better, but it also opened his eyes to a future he never knew he wanted. Meredith certainly wasn’t without her faults. She had her own past and mistakes to make up for and despite the warnings, she heard about Beck, the moment she met him it was like all the stars aligned and I was excited to see how their story would play out.
All in all, I think book 5 is an excellent addition to this series. This story was well-written and entertaining. I thought Meredith and Beck made the perfect match and loved their instant chemistry. Their story was filled with its share of ups and downs, but the journey was worth it in the end. I’m so glad that this author decided to write Beck’s story.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Push & Pull was a fantastic, angsty and emotional read. I have been eagerly awaiting Beck's book and to see how love would transform him. Push & Pull did not disappoint because I absolutely loved this book!
I wasn't sure if I would be able to enjoy a Beck's book since he wasn't one of my favorite character from this series but this book changed my mind. I loved Beck and Meredith together!
Meredith hasn't been so lucky in love and an unexpected surprise makes her decide to go back home. Beck is angsty and damaged and makes no excuses for the way he is. When he finds a young woman who needs help for once his protective instincts kick in. The chemistry between them was instant and I loved the change Meredith sparked in Beck. Despite everyone's disbelief Beck was determined to be the man Meredith needed in her life.
I loved how despite everything thrown their way Beck and Meredith come through it together and stronger. This author made me remember the amazing power love has to make us into the people we were meant to be. Push & Pull is my absolute favorite read from this series. I laughed, cried, sighed, wanted to beat someone, and swooned throughout this book. This beautiful and emotional read will have you reaching for the tissues as you try to finish is it asap. I hope there are more possible books in this series because I need more!
Meredith and Beck are quite a fun pair. He’s no good. He knows it and everybody else knows it too, and they aren’t keen to let him forget it. Meredith is broken. She’s been beaten, and worse, and when she returns home none of her family is too eager to let her forget it either. But somehow, from the first moment they met, there’s this instant connection. Beck wants to be better, to be worthy of her. Meredith wants the bad boy she sees wrapped up in a good guy packaging. They want each other and that much is obvious, so watching their love story unfold is just a good time. We get to see Jovie and Cori and plenty of the other people from the previous Broadway books and it’s in general a fun time. I hated what Meredith had to go through but I loved that she wasn’t letting it hold her back or preventing her from finding happiness where she could when the world had delivered her such a crap sandwich. Let’s not forget seeing Beck become a better person. What’s hotter than that? This was a wonderful and fun series with lots of serious moment, tons of love and some truly great friendships.
Wow!! I was super giddy when I saw who the two were in this book!! I couldn’t put it down giddy! I loved the idea of them so much!!
I always knew Beck had more to him than we were told and I hurt for him. I know things were bad but the growth in this man in such a short time was amazing to witness!! I loved him so hard! While I disliked him in other books, during his own book he redeemed himself.
Meredith wasn’t what I thought she was going to be… I knew her situation but I didn’t expect all of that to happen and find out about her past. I LOVED so many things about this pair and had to keep reading!!
Parts of this book made me upset and angry but the patience and understanding and level of amazing moments they had over shadowed any negative. I thought surely it would be different and boy was I not disappointed! Great job!! A little short for me but that ending was perfect!!
This is Beck and Meredith's book!! And I knew Beck would surprise us all on how he was actually a really good person. That he just had some demons he was fighting. Which I wish they talked about them a little more but you get the gist of them. And Meredith is a surprise on how she connects to some people in his life. But she also has been through alot of bad stuff too! And the reason she came back home comes to a shock to some as well. But Beck really steps up for her. I really wish this book had an extended epilogue because it's the last book in the series and there were some things just left hanging that I wish weren't. Maybe a holiday novella can come out with a pov from different characters from each series maybe?? Hopefully, we can wish. But it was a good series regardless and I would recommend it. It's also a quick one to get through, I read them all in a weekend. ~ By Tina
So we have met Beck in the previous books in this series. Let me tell you, I did NOT like him. He was a jerk to everyone. After a weekend bender, he helps this lady who passed out in front of Griffin's tattoo parlor. Meredith is Cori's little sister who ran away. She finally left her boyfriend when she finds out she is pregnant. Beck, all of a sudden, ois worried about someone besides himself. Is Meredith the one for him? Is this a love that can withstand both of their dark pasts? This book redeems Beck. He becomes this amazing man. A must read.
Push & Pull (The Broadway Series Book 5) is a powerful emotional story of mistakes, pain, love, change and second chances. Meredith and Beck have both made mistakes and have hurt people in the process. When fate crosses their paths the chance for redemption, change and love arises. Can these two overcome the past and get a HEA? Read this deeply moving read to find out. I'm posting an honest, voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.
This book has Insta-love and drama. The author hooked me in. I was concerned about Meredith. She was in a horrible situation. Then we met Beck and he was a mess. However as the story developed you saw these two people make changes to make their lives better. I will be reading more from this author!
3 1/2* Meredith returns home unsure of the reception she will receive after all she left with her no good boyfriend but what secrets bring her home? Becks hates life at the minute burying himself in booze & pills as well as causing trouble. No one is more surprised by the pull Meredith has over him. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, Fate met.
I loved and hated finding out Beck's story. He tries to escape his awful past with drugs and alcohol, numbing himself to any feelings. But Meredith was just the person he needed in his life to help pull him out of the deep end. Two people trying to get to a better place in their lives, maybe by finding that better place together! Great ending to this series!
Beck and Meredith both have pasts that can effect their present. There is witty banter, and great dynamics between them. I will admit from the previous book, I wasn't a big fan of Beck going into this book, but boy was I proven wrong. And I happy for that. He is a complex characters. I really enjoyed reading this couple's story.
Beck and Meredith are hot and sweet at the same time! Beck is a bad person, or so he thinks. He just has demons. This alpha saves Meredith and despite her past mistakes, Beck is just what she needs. An absolute must read in the Broadway Series by Allie York.
