Falling in love is a dangerous game.

I planned to smile.
I planned to flash my baby blues and washboard abs.
I planned to take Mila Samuels to bed and make her want to tell me all her secrets.
I didn’t plan to fall in love.

I planned to be nice to the new guy.
I planned to keep Tony McIntire away from unscrupulous women.
I planned to keep my secrets safe, like I have since I was a child.
I didn’t plan to fall in love.

We have so many secrets, but our desire for each other has made us both bold and reckless.

I would give him anything.

I would die to protect her.

When the truth comes out, will our love survive?

AMAZING!!! Cybill Cain’s writing talent floors me! I’ve loved Tony as a sub-character through out A Chimera Club Story Series and Cybill definitely did not disappoint with Tony here. Mila is also impressive and a perfect match for Tony. I can’t wait to read more!

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary review. I felt so bad Tony when Della had chose James. I love James so much. But I hurt for Tony. But I knew Della made the right decision. As for Tony I knew there someone out there for him. He's such a good man he is like Stacy who can't get enough of. Tony is big teddy bear but he's also a protector. He's fierce and loyal. Mila omg what happened to her is terrible but she's a trooper she kept going even after everything she's been though. I adore her and Tony so much. Now I think it's Beau turn next.

This is yet another Cybill Cain book that I could give six stars to, but since I can't, I'll pretend there are tails on the stars I can give. This is what I call a "character story". This book is about Tony, a man we've met in the previous Chimera Club books, but we really didn't know. After you read this, you will know what Tony is made of and be cheering him on. And this is a story about Mila, a blind schoolteacher who is the woman Tony is to be investigating when he arrives in Oklahoma (Oklahoma you say??!!?!). And before I go any farther, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pick up the other Cybill Cain's too - this book is part of series that begins with Poker Face, goes to Escape, then Haunted, then Delicious, then the short stories in All The Colors of My Heart. As you read them, you will see that this is a wonderful, woven kaleidoscope of characters that will please you are you read about their lives.

You'll fall in love with Tony the second he decides to ride his motorcycle to his first day at work as a maintenance worker at the school where Mila teaches. Why? Because in Tony's mind, he is ONLY the image he projects. Without that, he feels that he has nothing to offer anyone. And today, that first day of work, he wants to WOW Mila with the pecs and gluts, and a snug Tshirt, and gorgeous hair. And driving his SUV just doesn't give him that "Les yeux de l'amour" (the look of love) that he needs to sweep her off her feet, seduce her, and get the information he's seeking. In fact, he plans on all of this happening immediately upon primping in front of her. Heh Heh Heh. Best laid plans and all that - cause when he meets her, he discovers all his primping is for nothing - she's blind, can't see his beautiful self and he has to rely on what's INSIDE instead of the outside. Oh damn, he's thinking. Boy is he wrong.

This is an incredible love story. The interaction between Tony and Mila will make you smile, laugh, and sigh. Regardless of what you feel at the beginning of the book, these two are made for each other. Perfect together in every way. Mila has learned throughout her life to "see" things inside a person that they themselves may not have discovered yet. Thus Tony is thrown into a situation where he has to rely on something other than his "gorgeous bad boy" image. And to watch him cope is beauty in and of itself. Tony has that certain something that matches Mila's certain something perfectly. That je ne sais quoi that can't be described until you feel it. And no, I have no idea why this book brings out the few phrases in French that I've remembered over the years, but it has.

You will enjoy reading this book. First because it is Cybill Cain, the steam rolls off the Kindle. Second because it is Cybill Cain, the characters have so much chemistry between them, it is like being locked up with Mr. Wizard during a science experiment. And third, because you love romance or you wouldn't be reading this book, rest assured that Cybill Cain is single handedly putting the ROMANCE back into the Erotic Romance category of reading. And I, for one, am damn glad someone noticed that its been absent lately. I love romance and I love love, but especially I love the chemistry between two lovers as they discover each other and their bond.

Thank you Cybill. This is one hell of a book.

Finally, we get Tony's story, and what a story it is! If you haven’t read any of the other books in this series, Tony is a security employee of James Draven whose immediate supervisor is Draven’s right-hand man, Thomas Meenan. We got to know Tony in the previous books and found he thought he was in love with the woman who ends up married to Draven. Tony is big, strong, beautiful and cocky, all of which hides his tender heart, so his unrequited love certainly earned my sympathies. Needless to say, between that and the ongoing issues these characters have with the bad guy, Constantine, I was more than ready for this book.

Meenan gives Tony an assignment to get close to Mila Samuels, a music teacher who appears to have distant ties to Sergei Sokolov, a man threatening to release a crippling computer virus on the world who slipped through the fingers of Tony and his fellow operatives. Tony gets a custodial job at the school where Mila teaches, taking extra care with his appearance, the thing he uses to his advantage most often with the opposite sex, only to discover that Mila lost her sight when she was six years old. Time for a Plan B, but Tony didn’t account for the intense chemistry and soul-deep connection he and Mila would have from the very start.

There is so much that happens in this book, but if you haven’t read the other books, the author does a good job of providing critical information so you get the big picture. The suspense, intrigue, drama and convoluted connections are shocking and intense, so it’s a story that will easily grab your attention as it takes you on a wild ride. This, along with a mean girl subplot, offers a little humor and plenty of “holy carp!” moments. And while the book doesn’t really end with a cliffhanger, the epilogue certainly whets the appetite for more. Who am I kidding? I still want to find a way to sneak into the author's computer and start reading the next book NOW! All I can say is that things are about to get really interesting and Meenan better watch his back.

I would be remiss to not discuss the relationship between Tony and Mila, because, as fantastic as all the drama and suspense is, this is the place where the author really excels. She gives enigmatic hints about the main characters’ growth, change and self-actualization that is to come, but every interaction between Mila and Tony has an emotional component that keeps building, getting deeper and stronger with each scene. It’s as complex as it is subtle, and I have yet to be able to break it down and identify the steps of the process, but the end product is something that grabs the reader, gripping her heart, imprinting her soul and making her live every emotion these two characters experience. If this is erotic romance, then give me more, because this is so far beyond physical intimacy. It’s the soul deep connection between two people, the finally finding “the one,” and two people becoming so much more together than they ever were alone. It perfectly illustrates that “it” we’re all really looking for in a relationship, and it speaks to the reader's heart so softly and gently that it’s deafening.

If you haven’t read Cybill Cain, you’re missing out on some of the best emotive literature out there. Her books will leave their mark on you and her characters will forever live in your heart. I can’t urge you strongly enough to grab this book! This is one that will stay with you, and you’ll find yourself hungry for more from this series.

The beginning of the book with Tony’s description of himself and his I have this in the bag attitude had me doing an eye roll and worrying that the story would dissolve into predictability. I am glad to say that with Mila bringing Tony down several pegs that his bravado disappeared quickly.

While Tony likes to deflect a lot with jokes and a cocky attitude he is really a marshmallow underneath the leather and washboard abs.

Mila having been blind since six and has embraced her life and is living it to the fullest. While she may have a physical handicap she is more than capable of taking care of herself. While she is comforted by the knowledge that Tony can champion her, she has no problem championing him.

It’s great watching both characters grow into more than what they thought they were capable of. This is my first book in the Chimera series and I don’t know all of the backstories of the characters. The author does fill in some of the blanks for those of us that may be reading the books out of order.

While I enjoyed the story of Mila and Tony there were a few areas that were a little murky for me. One of the female protagonists was a real peace of work, almost a little over the top for me. Mila worked at a school for the blind that also had sighted children. There was no interaction between her and any of the students. There was mention of one student other than that she and Tony seemed to have the school to themselves a lot of the time and no kids. I did have a hard time with the flow of the dialogue and that maybe because I am not used to how this author writes. I would sometimes have to go back over the dialogue to see whom was saying what. Which affected the flow a bit for me.

There is a lot of references to past characters and events happening throughout the story which from what I can gather is what connects each book to the other. Most of the members of Chimera seem to have depth and a colorful and rich past. I enjoyed Mila and Tony’s story, it has heart, steam, friendship, betrayal and companionship.

I received an ARC from BookFunnel and I am leaving an unsolicited review of the story.

I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review. What a well written story of love, danger, secrets, terror and torture. This had me on edge from page one till the end. I hope there is another book, a continuing of the story. This story had elements from Mission Impossible, Man from Uncle and James Bond all rolled up into one great book. The characters in the story were well developed and exemplified teamwork as we have seen in the movies on that it is written not a motion picture. Mila Samuels was a blind teacher working at a school for the blind teaching music. She was zeroed in on by the organization Chimera. They wanted to know if she had any connection with a ruthless Russian dealer named Sergei Sokolov. Mila had a shadow named Peter Kincaid. He was a father figure to her as well as her driver and protector. The head of Chimera Thomas Meehan assigned this case to Tony McIntire. Tony was good looking, suave, and had a way with the ladies. When Tony arrived in Oklahoma and found out that Mila was blind he did not know how to handle this new situation. He decided to become her friend and they started a romantic relationship. But what Tony nor Mila expected was to fall in love. eventually they told each other some of their secrets but not all. Danger ensued when a fellow teacher Harper Stanley wanted revenge against Tony and Mila. This alerted a very dangerous man named Kyrie Constantine. He had been looking for Mila and Thomas Meehan for years. A very exciting read. Worth the time and I highly recommend this book. There were dual points of view and at the end a third POV of Constantine.

Tony and Mila's story will blow you away! Cybill Cain has done it once again. She is able to create so many layers and give such depth to her stories, that you will be wrapped up in these characters stories. You will find yourself on the emotional journeys along with the characters! Tony has always been a favorite character of mine in the Chimera series, and thanks to Mila he, and you, discover hidden depths that make you fall in love with him even more. Mila is the perfect woman to keep him growing on his journey. But she's no lightweight! There lies a tiger hidden in her that meets Tony and boy does she keep him on his toes! Thomas Meenan and The Chimera Group will once again blow you away! Run, don't walk to buy this book!!

Emotionally powerful

Cybil Cain's Desire is an intricately woven story of hardship, joy, loyalty, love and friendship.
Tony and Mila have a fascinating relationship. I loved how though blind Mila "saw" the real Tony. Sexual sparks fly at their first meet which build over the course of the story. There is an underlying suspense story that continues from the previous Chimera Club stories. While I think it might have added to my understanding of Tony's relationships with some of the secondary characters I easily read this as a stand alone.
I received an advance reader copy of this book.

I love these Chimera Club Stories!!! Cybill has hit another one out of the park with Desire!!! Great story, great characters and a joy to read!!!

Tony relies on his good looks and killer physique to seduce information out of women, so when the target is blind, what's he left with? Mila has been blind since she was 6, but she can see deeper into Tony than anyone ever has. Will either one of them be able to keep up their walls?

I received an Exclusive ARC of this book and am leaving my honest review.

Finally!! Tony's story! *heart eyes* (I'm pretty sure I'll say that same thing when Thomas's story comes out, because OMH, that man!)

Tony & Mila's relationship starts out as a job, but that only lasts until about 3.2 seconds after they meet. Their story is sweet and HOT and full of action. They truly SEE each other, to the heart of each other, and it's a beautiful thing to witness! : )

It was a very different read from my previous ones in this series, and I loved it.
It was still a kind of one-on-one between the H and the h but different, packed with more actions, dramas and protagonists.
Cybill Cain wrote an awesome story of betrayal, second chance in life about love but friendship too.

Tony is one of a good man, he hide his true self behind his banters and his good look but there so much more than meet the eyes, he is loyal to the heart and when he cares devoted to his core.
Mila is one of these incredibly strong women, she uses her weakness to become a strength in itself, she learns from her mistakes, but is also open to what life trews on her path.

I was good to see again Stacy and Janie, plus learn more about Meenan.
The new vilain is one horrible man and I hope he will be confronted with his past and his failures and get what he deserves.
