Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They’re sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you’ll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

IN WHISPERS AT SEASIDE...
Having a mad crush on her boss’s son, Matt Lacroux—an intriguing mix of proper gentleman and flirtatious bad boy—is probably not the smartest idea for single mother Mira Savage. Especially when the company, and her job, is already on shaky ground. But as a Princeton professor, Matt’s life is hours away from Mira’s home on Cape Cod, keeping him safely in the fantasy-only zone. And as a single mother to six-year-old Hagen, with a floundering company to save, fantasies are all she has time for.

With hopes of becoming dean off the table, and too many months of longing for a woman who lived too far away to pursue, Matt’s publishing contract couldn’t have come at a better time. He heads home to Cape Cod on a brief sabbatical, intent on starting his book, and finally getting his arms around sweet, beautiful Mira.

A surprise encounter leads to midnight confessions. The more time Matt and Mira spend together, the deeper their relationship grows, and the love and attention Matt showers on Hagen is more than she has ever dreamed of. But Matt’s sabbatical is only temporary, and Mira’s not saving his father’s company so she can leave it behind. Will their whispers of love be enough for one of them to change their life forever?

I really liked this romance. This is the tenth book in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series but it works perfectly fine as a stand-alone. I have read just a few books in the series and had no trouble keeping up with this one. Addison Cole is the pen name that Melissa Foster uses for the sweeter versions of her books. Whispers at Seaside is the sweeter version of Seaside Whispers. Before trying an Addison Cole book, I had worried that it might feel overly tame and a little too PG for my tastes but there is still plenty of heat to be had in these stories even without detailed sex scenes.

This book is about Matt and Mira and I have to say that I really liked both of these characters right away. Matt is on sabbatical from his job as a professor at Princeton and wants to spend some of his time in Seaside with the bookkeeper that works for his father, Mira. Mira is a single mother to a bright little boy named Hegan. I loved how all three of these characters just seemed to fit together from the very start. Matt and Mira had excellent chemistry while Hegan and Matt bonded over several projects that Hegan proudly called “guy stuff”.

There really weren’t too many obstacles keeping these two apart. Matt’s time in Seaside is temporary but I felt like that was something that could be worked out from the start. I had a great time watching these three come together as a unit and I liked the fact that Mira’s son played such an important role in the story. Matt and Mira do get quite a few moments of time just to be together as adults and I thought that their connection felt very real.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are one of my favorite narrator pairs. I think that their voices really compliment each other well in this kind of audiobook and I was excited to see that they performed this book together. I thought that both narrators did a great job with all of the character voices and brought a lot of emotion and some heat to the story. I think that their talent really added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought it was a really well-done romance with wonderful characters. I had such a good time watching these three make everything work and become a single unit. I plan to read more from Addison Cole very soon!

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist.

Initial Thoughts
I really liked this romance. I thought that Matt and Mira were perfect together and Mira's son, Hegan, added a whole lot to the story. There was plenty of chemistry between Matt and Mira and no big obstacles to their relationship but it was still fun to watch it develop. The narrating pair of Andy Arndt and Sebastian York did a fabulous job with the story.

Whispers at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers) Being a Lacroux is not easy. For every moment of sunshine there has been torrents of rain. The Lacroux siblings have weathered tragedy, alcoholism and rebuilding their broken family while finding individual happiness. Now it's Matt's turn to find his happy ending. Matt has inherited that famous Lacroux charm, but can he go the distance in the name of love? Mira is the woman he can't forget, but with all the baggage that stands in the way, will happily ever after be a possibility? Whispers at Seaside is a haunting tale of new beginnings and happy endings. Emotions run deep, but so does the power of pure love. I've had the pleasure of both reading and listening to Mira and Matt's Romance take flight and am still head over heart for these two.

Mira Savage had been head over heels in-love with her boss's son ever since they connected a year ago during one of their friend's wedding. But she never acted upon her feelings because she already got her hands full with her adorable son, Hagen. Besides, Matt Lacroux wouldn't have time to glance at her, with all his busy schedule as a professor in Princeton, plus a new book deal hogging all his time... Would he?

Whispers of love and hope and pure unadulterated joy - that's what I got after reading Whispers of Love by Addison Cole. I've been reading this Sweet With Heart: Seaside Summer series for the past year and I have always fallen for the men and women of Seaside. I want myself to be included in this book, I want to experience all those wonderful and impossible and exciting things that the characters had been through.

The pranks, the chunky-dunking, the voices heard over the window in the middle of the night or at the early break of dawn, those house fixtures that needed repair - everything appealed to me the way only Addison Cole delivered. Whenever I needed something to cheer me up amidst the chaos in my so-called life, I can always count on Cole's Seaside sisters or circle of friends. A highly recommended summer read!

This is the story of Matt Lacroux and Mira Savage. Matt has wanted to be with Mira for a long time, however it has never been the right time for them. Both of them have things that in their minds keep them apart. For Mira it’s that she is a single mom, who is dedicated to raising her son Hagen. For Matt it’s the fact that he lives in a different state than Mira. In my opinion neither of these is a good enough reason. I absolutely love their story and believe that they are a match made in heaven! Matt Lacroux is a University Professor who has taken a sabbatical and came back to Seaside to work on a book. It’s in Seaside that he happens to reconnect with Mira who works in his fathers hardware store. They had met the year before and Matt is very happy to reconnect with her. As a mom I love how great Matt is with Mira’s son. There is also a perfect chemistry between Matt & Mira.
Final verdict… This is a great romance story of two friends who make an amazing couple! I also really liked the fact that this book takes part in Cape Cod. Maybe it’s my love for the Cape that made this story more special! If you like stories that have a lot of romance without all of the heat this is definitely a great book for you!

Book Tour: Whispers by SeaSide - Review Whispers by Seaside is a good book. Though for me it I think it was more romance than liked but it was not bad. It was written well. I enjoyed it involved the family but it seems like this was more Matt’s story then Mira.It had a lot to do with Matt and Mira getting together more. Matt is reconnecting with his family. He is also getting involved in Hagen's and Mira's lives more. I am hoping to see more of Matt building relationships with his family more. I know he was building a relationship with Hagen throughout the book then with Mira. I would have like to see the relationship of the build up with Mira throughout the book. I know we did see a part of it.We hear more about these wedding that are taking place in this book. I would have been nice to find out more about Matt and his family more and their loves ones. Mira seems to worry more about her future and about Hagen's.Will it last? Will Matt stay at his job or will he leave it? You will need to read the book to find out.

Whispers at Seaside(Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers) by Addison Cole Matt Lacroux is a University Professor who has taken a sabbatical and came back to Seaside to work on a book, where he just so happens to reconnect with Mira who he met a year previous and who also works in his fathers hardware store,

Mira Savage is a single mother, and her son Hagen is her number one priority, finally after a year of messaging with Matt he is back in town and she doesn’t know what to make of their relationship as he is only to be home for 3 months or so.

They both have an amazing and intense chemistry toward each other, and whilst Matt is the perfect gentleman he always takes into consideration Hagen in everything he does and say with and around Mira. For me it made me love Matt even more as most guys probably would run a mile at starting a relationship with a single mother (I may be wrong) but he gets on well with Hagen and shows an interest in him and they do “guy stuff” together which I think just sealed with deal for Mira.

Matt just seems to be the most absolutely perfect guy out there and everything he does throughout this book just makes you love him even more.
This was a great friends to lovers story and whilst it was Matt and Mira’s story as usual we got to read about the characters from Seaside.

Single Mom Mira Savage has her share of challenges, with two jobs on her shoulders and trying to keep up with her son she's got a full schedule that doesn't have much room for anything else, or so she thought. Mira has had her share of heart aches,  and still feeling the burn from her last go at love the last thing she has her eyes on is anything romantic, that was until her secret crush shows up in town again. Easy on the eyes and creating some day dreams she can't ignore,  Mira is struggling to put aside her thoughts about her boss's son, Matt Lacroux.

Matt has his eyes set on becoming Dean at Princeton, but with things seemingly up in the air at the moment he decides to take a much needed break and start in on his novel. His focus on the other hand when he arrived home was on anything but his novel, and all on Mira. Feelings that had risen at their last encounter all came crushing back , but this time it seemed that the feelings were not one sided as he had originally thought.  He thinks highly of her and knows she works hard not just at her job, but as being a great mother to her son, who he adores, which makes it even harder to get a grip on his feelings.

There's just one problem, he hadn't planned on staying and his life was back at Princeton while Mira's was solely at Cape Cod.

Though plenty of doubts are swirling around both of them, Mira and Matt find it hard to ignore what is happening between them and try to find out just what exactly it is that they have going on. As time passes though they both start to face the reality of the future and just how unknown it is for them. Both Mira and Matt have a life they have built and are proud of, miles away from each other, and neither are eager to leave it behind.

The difficult decision weights them both down, but will their love prevail? You'll have to read Whispers At Seaside to find out!

Whispers At Seaside was a wonderful heartwarming book,  definitely pulls at you. While there is plenty of romance, there is also a lot of challenges for the characters. Which is nice as life isn't all fun and games, not always easy,so you can identify with what happens as the story unfolds. A nice read, very well written and relatable characters as well.

Matt is a college professor at Princeton University. While he loves his job, he’s been feeling restless, and thinking he might want a change. He decides to take a three month sabbatical and go back to the Cape where his family is after receiving an offer to write a book, which he’s always wanted to do. He misses seeing his dad and his brothers, but more than that, he misses Mira, who works for his dad. Matt met Mira over a year ago at his brothers engagement party and they’ve been friends ever since. Not only does Matt love being around Mira, but her six-year old son, Hagen, reminds him so much of himself at that age. Hagen is a self proclaimed “nerd”. He’s incredibly smart and everyone adores him. After arriving at the Cape, Matt has a run in with a shower head and runs to his fathers hardware store in town to grab a new one. When he gets there, Mira is still working on the books in the office. And this is where it really gets good!

The chemistry between Matt and Mira is off the charts, but they’re both so cautious about starting anything between them because Matt doesn’t know where he’ll be after the three months ends. The more time they spend together though, the harder it is to keep their hands off each other! Mira is so protective of Hagen and worries about him getting too attached to Matt. Meanwhile, Matt is realizing how strong his feelings for Mira and Hagen are and is starting to reevaluate his own life.

I really enjoyed watching the relationship between not only Matt and Mira, but also Matt and Hagen grow. Hagen is such a sweet, intelligent little boy that you can’t help but smile when you read some of the funny things he says. And Mira is such a wonderful, loving mother that you can’t help but be happy to see her get a chance at real love! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would highly recommend this book!

Addison Cole has done it again. Whispers at Seaside is another great read.

We can start with the setting. As I've said before, I love that these books are set on Cape Cod. I remember vacationing there as a teen. It really makes it feel like I'm visiting with friends. While I am a mountain girl through and through, I love visiting water and Cape Cod is one of my favorite places.

Then, the characters. I really feel like I am visiting with people I know. I also relate to Mira, the main female in this book, because I was a single mom. You truly do have to think that every person you bring into your life, you are also bringing into your child's life. I can understand all the rationalization that goes on in Mira's mind as to why she should not get involved with Matt as he is her boss's son. Finding work in a small town is tough. Finding work that will be flexible enough to let you be the parent you want is even tougher. Mira is tougher than I am. I am not sure I would risk alienating my boss for a relationship that, at the start, might only last three months. Then, there is her son to think about. He has never had a man who was with his mother in his life. Is a three month period enough?

Matt is a great match for Mira. The fact that the two of them have let an attraction simmer via text and a few one or two day visits probably makes three months seem like an eternity. Not only is Matt good for Mira, he is fantastic for Hagen, Mira's son.

You should pick up Addison Cole's Whispers at Seaside. It makes a great summer, or any time of the year, read.  I received this book through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.

You have found a sweet romance that filled with tender moments and an undeniable passion without the explicit nature. No matter the context this was on sexy, hot professor and a single, sassy mother. I have to give kudos and more to Melissa Foster. She gives a beautiful written story with each new offering. I have over the course of this last year fallen in love with her characters from the complete Love in Bloom multi-series series. Each new couple have the own individual struggles, needs, desires, hopes and dreams. This one was no exception.

I fell head over heels in love with Mira and Matt. Mira stole my heart because of her sense of self and her soft pride and respect for who she was and what she wanted. Matt, Mira and Hagen have a place with me. It was their interaction with each other that gave the setting a bit more. Matt and Mira both were dealing with a lot of things and the gradual growing relationship gave a bit of stability to their friendship. Having both sides of their perspectives shared made the story that much more enjoyable. We were able to get down to the heart of things.

This book is part of a continuous series but in no way are you hindered by that aspect. This was a fully complete read that did not require you having any prior knowledge of the previous books. I will tell you that you will fall in love. With the story, the characters, the child and the friendships.

Whispers at Seaside was a dual POV that makes you want to step in and get more out of it all. This way you have more than just the surface of things. You can see the heart of it all and the deep emotional effect that go with both Mira and Matt. There was so much love, compassion, passion, emotion, and more.

A heartwarming and passionate love story!

Whispers at Seaside is the tenth book in the Sweet with Heat series. A well-written book that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. This story is full of passion and plenty of romance. It is so easy to feel a connection to and like all of the characters. When I finish reading the book, I feel that the characters are friends, the next-door neighbor, and even part of my family. Each story in this series, has a new storyline that each one of us can relate to and learn from. I never know what to expect with the antics that the seaside girls come up with in each book. This is a great addition to each book in the series! It definitely adds to the humor in the book. Addison does a great job of intertwining characters from previous books into each book. The story focuses on the main characters but the additional information and previous characters really add to the story and make them all feel connected.

Addison Cole does a wonderful job of weaving romance with humor and passion while adding in heartache that ends with the happy-ending that we come to expect. I know when I see her name on a book that it will be an entertaining and enjoyable book that I won’t be able to put down. Addison Cole definitely has a gift for writing spectacular stories! I have not been disappointed with a book yet! Definitely, an author that you will want to keep on the top of your go-to list. If you enjoy reading a sweet romance with a touch of humor, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book and the series. A truly captivating, emotional and heartwarming read.

Audiobook Review… Addison Cole did an amazing job writing the perfect book for Andi Arndt and Sebastian York to narrate. Andi brings Mira to life with her sweet voice, her loving mother voice, and the sexy, shy voice reserved just for Matt. Sebastian does an amazing job of bringing Matt’s serious professor side to life while keeping him sexy and loving for the scenes with Mira. I could feel these characters come to life as they spent time together, learned how to love each other, and how to become a family for Hagen.

eBook Review…Oh, Addison Cole, you write such amazing stories with wonderful characters. The Seaside Girls are my favorite friendship ever. They are so strong, sweet, and naughty. They pull pranks, tell secrets to each other, love each other, and love their men so deeply. Each time I pick up a Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summer book I know that I will get to catch up with women.

Whispers at Seaside is the story of Professor Matt Lacroux and single mother Mira Savage. The instant chemistry between Matt and Mira is off the charts. There is no doubt that they belong together but there is also Hagen. Hagen is the best character in the story. As Mira’s son, he is the most important person in Mira’s life and anyone who wants to be friends with Mira must be friends with her son. Matt comes in and becomes friends with Hagen from the very beginning, he includes him in discussions, dates, and activities without being put out (heart melting).

This book in the series is now my favorite. Matt Lacroux won me over just by his interactions with Hagen. The heat is perfect, the sweetness is wonderful, and the love is just right.

I loved and respected Mira as a single, hard-working mother - especially the way she put Hagen above all else, constantly concerned with his feelings as her and Matt’s friendship started to evolve. But on that same note, I loved how she slowly began thinking of herself also, realizing that she could be a mother and have someone special in her life. Mira’s character was smart, funny, beautiful, caring, but along with that, she was also modest. Matt definitely had an odd, dorky side, but overall, he was just completely sweet, sexy, and irresistible.

Although I loved Matt and Mira, I have to say that little Hagen stole the show in this one. The bright, funny, creative, and intuitive young boy created by Addison Cole was just too adorable for words. I loved his perspective and honestly, as well as, his huge heart. His relationship with Matt, Neil, and the rest of the guys just made him that much cuter!

Once again, Addison Cole has created such a romantic and heart-warming story that still had just enough steamy moments to keep things sexy. Matt and Mira’s story is a beautiful portrayal of love, taking chances, making changes, and the wonderful gift of friends that turn into family. The love in this series just continues to grow and Cole continues to make my heart smile with her creative, romantic, and hilarious tales set in Wellfleet. I know this series will eventually end, but hopefully no time in the near future!

Mixing business and pleasure can often result in disaster – but Addison Cole always has a way of making situations go up in flames (in a sexy way!). Matt and Mira had a connection a year prior but with the only type of relationship available – long distance – they parted ways. Working for his father, along with being a single mother, Mira felt it was best to keep it that way. When he returns to work on his book, the sparks are still there. I love how they both put their responsibilities first and thought about ALL parties involved. The sexiness of an author is more than Mira can withstand and soon, their story starts to get steamy….so steamy that it’s like when you wipe off the bathroom mirror and it’s instantly fogged up again! As time passes, I found myself wondering who, if either of them, was going to up-root their life to make a big change for the other. I could see how difficult of a decision that would be and my heart broke along with theirs! Such a sweet couple in the mix of the group of friends! Each book opens new sides to the friends and I fall in love all over again!

Matt and Mira have been circling each other for months, both of them interested. However, their lives are at drastically different points. Matt is on a steady climb at work and has a new book deal. Mira is a single mom who has finally found a home for herself and her son Hagen. They're miles away from each other, both literally and figuratively.

Matt takes a sabbatical from his life in academia in order to write his book and to spend time with family. He's also hoping to spend some time with Mira, knowing that his time on the Cape is limited.

Mira is very interested in Matt, but Hagen is her biggest priority. There is nothing and no one that will change that, so she is very skittish about putting their hearts on the line. The sparks between them is so strong that they truly don't have a choice in the matter.

Can they meet in the middle and make a family? Or will they fall apart, unable to be together?

Whispers at Seaside is an adorable and lovable addition to the Sweet with Heat Seaside series. The characters that are fun and easy to love.

Matt Lacroux has to make a difficult decision about his future. He is well educated, loyal, and determined. I love seeing Matt interact with his family and friends. I especially enjoy the way Matt treats Hagen and cares for the young boy. Their interaction certainly melts the heart.
Mira Savage is an independent, single mother. She's driven to provide a good life for her son, Hagen. I adore her parenting style and how much she encourages Hagen to embrace what he enjoys doing. They're adorable together. Her patients for her son's questions and desire to learn is admirable.

I rooted for Mira and Matt's relationship throughout the story. They make a very sweet couple.
I do wish there was more interaction or cameos with the Seaside Girls. They are some of my favorite characters. Those girls always amuse me.

The ending of this story had me laughing. Theresa got the Seaside Girls good. The ending also made me curious to what is next for the series. I'm really hoping Mira's best friend Serena gets her story told because the hints of the possible romances got me wanting to know more.

I received this story as an Advance Reader's Copy. I volunteered to leave my review. All opinions are my own.

In an Oyster Shell - You know I was happy when the whole gang comes back into play in this seaside series.

The Pearls - I am starting to love romances where the interests are single parents. It adds an interesting and realistic dynamic to the story too but a child into the mix. More often then not people come together with children from other relationships. I loved how Matt's love for not only Mira but her son came out.

I love the great characters that Cole always puts into play. This author is super gifted in this area. She's a character making machine. This far into the series there are a lot of them. That she brought them all back into this story is exciting. Her characters are always distinctive there are no two alike.

I like the sexy professor romance. It was fun. There are even professor glasses invloved how can that not make you swoon? Mira was a great love interest single mom making her way in the world. I enjoyed Matt sweeping her off her feet.

Addison does it again with another adorable and joyful read. I will have to say that Whispers at Seaside is my absolute favorite so far. I loved every bit of Matt and Mira's story and I couldn't put the book down. No, seriously I read this book in a day and a half and I was sad when it was over.

Mira is a single mom who works for her crushes dad, and when Matt comes back to town love will fly. These two have chemistry from the start and it was so much fun watching their love grow. Now, my most favorite character was definitely little Hagen! He was so gosh darn adorable, and his relationship with Matt made the story even more perfect.

This is quite possibly THE sweetest installment in the series yet. Although Whispers can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the rest of the series too! Seeing Matt with Hagen absolutely melted my heart (and may or may not have totally melted my panties)! He's a great guy, and he totally respects sweet, hardworking, single mom Mira. Her fight to the finish attitude means she won't give up easily, and I spent so much time hoping Matt would give in to his heart and stay. They are the sweetest couple yet, and go great with a cup of tea!

When I read a new book in this Sweet with Heat series I feel like I'm visiting with old friends. The Seaside girls and their antics always make the read even more fun.
I loved watching the relationship build between Matt and Mira but Hagen was the icing on the cake. Matt and Mira independently are both great people and I think that made it even easier to root for them to be together.
This series is so heartwarming and this book so much more because of the family that was built by love. I can't wait to see what the Seaside group will do next.

Matt Lacroux and Mira Savage are and incredible mix of bad boy and single mom. They just have wrangle a whole host of issues to see the end to a happy ever after. Matt a Princeton professor whom lives a couple hours away. Mira a single mother whom works for Matt’s dad. As always Addison does an amazing job of bringing in emotional roller coasters to keep you hooked till the end. This is a great summer read.

Matt Lacroux is home at Seaside for the summer having taken a sabbatical from his teaching position at Princeton. While working on a book deal, Matt is trying to figure out the next steps in his life since it seems like his aspirations of becoming a dean at his college aren't going to pan out any time soon. But being back at Seaside, he gets to reconnect with single-mom Mira whom he met at his brother's engagement party the previous year. They've kept in touch over the months, and now with Matt back for the summer he's ready to see if there can be something more between them.

Mira Savage is used to devoting all her time to working and raising her young son. No one has garnered much more attention from her except Matt Lacroux. Despite being attracted to him from the moment they met, there was always the issue of distance between them. Now that he's in Seaside for a while, Mira must actually face her attraction for him, and acknowledge that it's ok for her to have a life for herself, especially considering Matt is also wonderful to her son. But what will happen when Matt's time on the Cape comes to a close?

I thought that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did great with the narration. They are both narrators whose names pop up quite frequently in my audiobooks. They both bring a wonderful array of inflection and tone distinctions that I love when listening to a book.

For the story, I really enjoyed getting a view of the single mother in Mira. It's true that it's never easy raising a child, let along raising a child on one's own, and I felt like Mira was a good representation of a woman who has had to do this, but with the idea that it's just something she had to do because there was no other option, and she wasn't going to dwell on the fact that she's single, Mira is out to get her work done and love her son and raise him to the best of her ability. She hasn't gone about it completely along, which obviously helps, she has a good support system in her best friend Sabrina and her two brothers. I wish we could have gotten more interactions between Mira and her brothers honestly.

For Matt, he's kind of at a crossroads in his life. He loves his job and what he does, but it's not fulfilling him as much as it used to. He's seeing his brothers and sister find their significant others and form extended families. I liked seeing kind of this natural progression in Matt's life. Just the decision of stopping and thinking about what he wants especially after already having seemingly established his goals and wants in life. I like the idea that it's ever-changing. It's not something decided definitively and that's it. But I did feel like we didn't get to see that struggle enough. Honestly, he's in Seaside and from the beginning it's clear he's going to stay in Seaside. I didn't feel the true conflict of what he was facing and I kinda wanted to feel that a little more.

Whispers at Seaside closes another chapter of the series as a whole. Meaning we've tackled the entire Lacroux family, now we're off to another. I'm assuming Mira's brothers will get a story along with Janna (featured in Embraced at Seaside with Hunter Lacroux)'s brothers. Either way, I continue to love the family ties and bonds forms and seeing them interweave with one another.

Whispers at Seaside is college professor Matt Lacroux and single mom Mira Savage’s romantic journey. This book is a wonderful friends to lovers’ romance with all the feels. The characters and the themes of the importance of family and friends drew me in to the story. The relationship which developed between Mira, Matt and Hagen enchanted me.

Matt Lacroux and Mira Savage met at an engagement party a year ago. The couple is attracted to each other but have remained friends because he teaches at Princeton and Mira works and lives in Seaside, Massachusetts. A three- month sabbatical provides Matt the opportunity to return home to reconnect with his family and explore his feelings for Mira and her son Hagen. Loved that Matt recognized that he needed to spend time with his Dad, sister and brothers. Matt understands that the time away from academia would enable him to reassess his priorities, slow down, explore his feelings for Mira and develop a positive relationship with Hagen. I liked that Matt was a strong, thoughtful, intelligent man and not as alpha as his brothers.

Mira Savage is a busy single mother. She works as a bookkeeper for Lacroux hardware and is devoted to her son Hagen. I loved that Mira was captivated by the charming Matt Lacroux and that Matt was intrigued by Mira as well. One of my favorite scenes is when Hagen, Matt and Matt’s brother Pete and father build a raft together. Loved that Matt showed Hagen how to research the building process, secure the logs with rope and choose the logs for the raft. Hagen was an important part of the team. I enjoyed every conversation between Matt and Hagan and loved seeing them bond together.

Addison Cole has created a great support system with the Seaside women. The author has created a core group of women who support each other’s dreams and passions. Each of the characters is unique and brings a different perspective to a situation. I enjoy that they support each other and tackle situations together. Loved that the Seaside friends saw merit in Mira’s proposal about Neil Lacroux’s business and supported her dream.

I adored the romance and the feel good aspect of this book. The characters are relatable. Matt is protective and has problems to resolve while Mira has trust issues to work through. The author does a fabulous job with both characters; the reader understands Mira’s desire and her hesitation to give her heart. Matt wants to romance Mira. He wants to be her everything-and he adores her child. Loved the ending of the book—a couple of great plot twists challenges the couple. The ending was fabulous—and yes Addison Cole aka Melissa Foster—you made me cry! (Again!!)

Whispers at Seaside is an engaging, feel good romance. Great characters, romance and family make the perfect summer read. And I loved that Hagan almost stole the show!

Matt Lacroux reminded me that I may have lived in Massachusetts my whole life but that I’ve missed something since I’ve never been to Orleans. Now that I have a little more time to myself, I just may have to change that. And if you’ve been following this series you may want to go out and explore yourself.

Mira Savage doesn’t realize she wants the same thing as Matt. She’s at the point in her life where she wants to make some changes. She has a cute little boy who will steal both your heart and the scenes he’s in. He’s smart and you almost want to be there to watch him grow up because you can tell right away that he’s going to steal some girl’s heart.

The author may have removed a lot of the “heat” in her story but some of the adult conversation was very interesting. She was also very nice to her readers by including some characters from previous books. One thing she’s very good at is making all her characters believable and people that you want to be friends with. Spring may be the season for rebirth but Summer is the time to recharge and reconnect.

There’s just something about having time to get away with family and friends. We have a chance to decompress and reconnect with the people we love. It’s also a time when we seem to give ourselves permission to get a little silly. It’s also a great time to reread some of those books that you enjoyed so much and you’re looking to get your vacation reads ready. What better way to do that than to take books that center around vacation destinations?

Hagen made me both hungry and disappointed. While he’s having man time with Matt they go out and eat. It’s one thing I miss when I go to a seaside town because my food allergy gets in my way. In one respect it’s a way of eating a little healthier but when I eat out after a day at the beach there’s just something about fried fish or fried clams that just speaks vacation and seaside. In that one particular scene between these two boys, I could practically smell their food – even made my stomach growl.

With all the books, in this series, that I want to take on vacation I think I’m going to have to take the Summer off. I want to be able to enjoy reconnecting with the characters – like reconnecting with friends. I don’t know about you but when on vacation I don’t want to read a story that’s going to bring me down. This author never does that to me. She has me wanting to belong to this group – sitting there while they tell their stories and bringing everyone up-to-date on everything they’ve been doing since we last saw each other. One thing I’ll have to remember to pack is a lot of tissue because there are endings that will make you happy and leave you with a tear in your eye.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

I would describe this as being a really sweet read but don’t mistake that for meaning that there is no angst in it because much as in life itself the characters have more than their fair share of ups and downs.
Life for single mom Mira is a full to the brim with responsibilities, raising her son and working two jobs has her chasing her own tail at times but having had her fingers burned previously in the whole love and romance department, she is most definitely keen to keep her heart well and truly guarded, but that doesn’t mean that she will get what she wants because when the guy she has secretly had her eye on for longer than she would ever be willing to admit arrives back in town she finds herself struggling to play by her own rules. Matt Lacroux has always had a reputation that some would say is well deserved but that doesn’t make him any the less easy on the eye but with issues surrounding the stability of her work and of course her some Hagen to occupy her time, taking any opportunity to have a little fun for herself is so far down the wish list that it barely registers. But for how long?
Life at Princeton has been a bit of a bumpy ride for Matt lately, and whilst he has enjoyed teaching, he had hoped that someday he would take the next step up the ladder and land the Dean’s position but with that move looking like it is dead in the water, the opportunity to write his own book couldn’t have come at a better time, and he heads home for a break and to get started on his novel.
Back home and it didn’t take long for the shenanigans to begin. It had been a year since Matt had last laid eyes on Mira but time hadn’t done much to dampen the feelings that had begun to take shape all those months ago. He knew how hard she worked for his father in the hardware store and he also knew just how much hard work she ploughed into being the best mom she could be to Hagen; the kid was a genius so keeping up with him couldn’t have been easy but she managed it all and Matt admired that about her. There was a look of more than admiration that passed between the two of them and it certainly wasn’t all one-sided, because as much as Matt had feelings that he was trying to get to grips with, it was clear that Mira wasn’t far behind him!
They danced their way around each other as they tried to find a way to work out what exactly was going on between the two of them and by the time they did, the big question was, where was it all going to lead because Matt may have only been in town for 3 months but events seemed to dictate that that may have been just wishful thinking.
I enjoyed the connection between the two of them and I especially loved the way he was with Mira’s son, he was so much more than his reputation implied.
Well written with engaging characters this was a great read that pulled on my heartstrings as it did its utmost to emotionally unravel me.

Mira lives in the seaside with her inquisitive young son and works for Matts father's hardware store. Matt lives in Jersey as a professor and is back at seaside for a sabbatical while he gets come writing done. But if he has to be honest with himself its to also see if there is anything between him and the lovely Mira. As things form it become clear very soon his sabbatical will end and decisions between their relationship have to be made.

This is a reread for me if you can call it that, I actually got a chance to listen to this book as an audio book. I feel like it really enhances the reading experiance and I found it to be more enjoyable. Sometime I find myself skimming over books from time to time and not notice and I was able to focus more on the little details because it was being read to me this time around. I appreciate that there was not one but two narrators to this book and think that Andi Arndt and Sebastian York did a great job. I loved getting a voice behind the characters and it make it all the more interesting to listen to. If you find you self quite busy or just want to relax your eyes for a bit from reading this is a great way to go.

Naturally I loved this book I've been following along with this series and it was pretty great getting to know these characters. Even though I loved seeing that relationship between Matt and Mira, it was sweeter seeing Hagan and Matt working together. It was cute how he didn't treat Hagan like a child but like he would to as an adult. I loved how Hagan always had a question for everything and everyone was so patient to make sure not to give quick answers but explain things in detail to him because it was what the child needed. I also loved that he didn't fade in the background like many others books I've read where the children seem to disappear. I thought it was interesting getting to know more about Matt and his hero complex he seemed to have. As always this author knows how to make interesting and unique love stories with just the right amount of steam ( without getting too much into details). If you love a good contemporary romance I'd suggest you check this book out. If you read this book trust me you will be hooked till the very end. Overall a great story I really enjoyed it!

What a fun, flirty and great book this was. We follow the story of Matt Lacroux, or should I say Professor Matt Lacroux, he works Princeton and is a very serious type of guy. He’s always had his life worked out but his hopes of become Dean now not possible he’s rethinking what he wants out of life. Now that he’s received a publishing contract he’s taken time off to write a book and decides to head home to the Cape so he can spend some more time with his family. Matt’s dad own’s the local hardware store and Mira Savage, who’s a single mum works their as his bookkeeper. Mira is an amazing person, she spends all her time looking after her 6 year old son Hagen, study so she can become a CPA and that leave little time for herself or a love life. She’s had a mad crush on her boss’s son for months but doesn’t want to do anything about that to jepodise her job as Mira know’s the business and her job are on shaky ground. Matt has always found Mira attractive and can’t wait to be able to spend some more time with her and Hagen. After a problem with Matt’s shower he heads to his fathers store rather late and night only to find Mira work there. They start to spend some time together and sparks literally fly off the pages of the book when these two are together. Matt loves spending time with Mira and Hagan. And what can I say about Hagen, he’s the brightest, smartest 6 year old in the world. He wants to build a rocket, a boat and I really think Matt see’s a lot of himself in this cute little 6 year old. The interaction between these characters is totally off the charts. Both Matt and Mira deserve their HEA. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read more stories about my friends from the Cape.

Single mother Mira has her hands full working full time at Lacroux Hardware Store, doing bookkeeping on the side, and caring for her six year old genius son. She found out the hard way that love is not for her, men can't be trusted. Yet, when the handsome Matt Lacroux returns home on a three month leave from his teaching job in Princeton to write a book she can't help the feelings that begin to rekindle from meeting him last year. The fact that her son seems as smitten with him as she is just makes her heart tingle more. But Mira doesn't do relationships, and if she keeps telling herself that maybe she'll eventually believe it.

When Matt sees Mira again after a year apart the feelings that had begun to emerge last year rear up with a sharpness he cannot deny. The woman is stunning, a hard worker, loyal to a fault to his father's business and the most amazing mother. And it's quite clear he sees his feelings for her reflected in her eyes. Though he loves the chance to spend time with his siblings and his father, and he is thoroughly enjoying the time he has to get better aquainted with Mira, Matt's career will take him back to Princeton in a few months.

Will the chance of a life time take him away from Bayside forever, or will Matt realize his happiness is no longer tied to his teaching career?

Another sweet addition to the Seaside series by Addison Cole. Her writing of small town families is entertaining with just the right amount of heat. Characters are quirky and fun with a twist here and there to keep you guessing. Excellent series!

I received an ARC and freely offer this review.

“You deserve romance, and I want to be the man who gives it to you.”

Matt Lacroux is a Princeton professor, a writer and a protector. He lives a quiet life teaching and doing research papers and aims to be the next dean. He doesn’t date much and he won’t get intimate with anyone without having deep feelings for them.

Mira is a single mom to a lovely smart little boy and she works as an accountant for Neil Lacroux waiting to pass her CPA exam. She loves being a mom, has a quiet life and great friends. She hasn’t been on the dating scene since she had her little boy and she is now yearning for a man but she wants to protect her son’s feelings at all cost.

When the two meet they are instantly taken by each other but they remain only friends for the past year. With each visit, their attraction grows and becomes more intense. When Matt decides to take a sabbatical and move back to the Cape; he is smitten by Mira and her little boy and it makes him realise all he has been missing on; a quieter life, less stress, being close to his brothers, sister, father and niece. And most of all the beautiful Mira that makes him want more out of life.

Matt Lacroux was a nice surprise to me because he is so different from his alpha male brothers and I loved it. He is quieter with a little superhero side and when you find a man that loves your kid as much as Matt does, you can’t help but love him even more. Mira is a strong single mom and she reflects what kind of challenge it can be to raise a child on your own. I literally fell in love with that sweet couple and Hagen’s innocence brings a soft, entertaining side to this beautiful story.
