Robin Sharp is a police officer for her local precinct in a small town in the mountains, where a bill was recently passed to open up a huge portion of the mountain to commercial logging. As the town is overrun with out of towners, they bring a mess of problems for the police force. While trying to help keep the peace between the locals and the loggers, Robin is assigned a case to find a few missing big-rigs, which turns into a rapidly escalating threat of a major homegrown terrorism plot. Not knowing who else they can trust, Robin and her wife, Grace, must go into dangerous territory to gain more intel and scramble to prevent multiple catastrophes.
Amy DeMeritt is an author of Sapphic romance and an occasional poet. She is a lover of the arts, coffee and tea, a day of sitting on the beach watching the waves crashing against the shore, and good books and music to get lost in. (A good thunderstorm is one of her favorite forms of music.)
Amy takes inspiration from every experience in life and gives her imagination full reign to take a small detail and expand it into an intricate tale. Weaving experience, interests, and even pushing the boundaries of personal comfort, Amy’s stories take a reader on a journey of varying emotions and the joys and trials of love, romance, and growing as an individual, all of which are embodied in an entertaining plot with complex characters.
DNF. I have read DeMeritt before and not had many issues but I just could not get into this book. The writing felt choppy and constantly “telling” us what was going on. It really needs an editor. Maybe I would give this another chance in the future, but with so many KU books I have my eye on and not much time left on my membership, I believe I can be a little picky. 📍 “ʼI love you to the moon and back, and if you don’t see me tonight, find me in the stars.ʼ With a shaky voice, Grace says, ʼForever and always, two hearts united. I love you.ʼ” • ~ • ~ • ~ •
2 bad azz women agents fighting evil hard & loving each other even harder! Robin & Grace are like if Wonder Woman & GI Jane had a baby who married the daughter Xena & Catwoman while both working as highly trained intelligence "super special" agents with the FBI.
My little girl childhood fantasy in character form… without the under-roos (only the old folks'll know about that awesomeness!!) & all grown up!!
Amy DeMeritt is a wonderful story teller. This is a very well written tale with well developed characters and an engrossing storyline. Homegrown terrorism seems to be a real problem in today's world. This tale weaves together a terrorist plot, cops gone rogue, taking down the bad guys, and more, including Robin and Grace, a married couple who are kick-ass-and-take-no-names female FBI agents. Be sure to add this book to your must-read list.
I loved The Sharps Unleashed. Great story. Lots of law enforcement action. Loved Grace and Robin as the two main characters. Enough bedroom scenes to keep most readers happy. Would love to read more adventures with them.
Strong women exciting mystery. This book kept my interest from beginning to end. I enjoyed it so much I read it again. Thanks for a very enjoyable read.
