Everything I wanted...and more...

If you follow my reviews at all, you know I adore Suzanne Wright's books.

I have also made it pretty clear that I am 100% unable to judge them objectively (not that any review by anyone is truly ever objective - but that's a completely uninteresting philosophical discussion we can shelve for another day...thank God).

As I was saying.

This was me when I saw this book was coming around...

description

...complete with teenage girl squee-ing and jumping around whilst singing, "Knox and Harper, Knox and Harper!!!" into my hair brush microphone.

Okay, maybe not THAT that bad, but you get the idea.

Let me just say that this book was legit awesome.

Knox (swoon) and Harper (my spirit twin) were as magnetic and amazing together as ever and Asher was just adorable. I could read about them forever.

Truly though.

They are my favorite couple of ALL TIME.

I would stalk them for all eternity.

So, although it pains me to say that Wright said this will be the last Knox/Harper book...she also ending it by saying, "now for the side characters..."

Holy shit, you guys.

You know what that means...

5/7/18 Review now posted

I do love pre-ordering. Getting that email that says that your book is now ready to read sends tingles down my fingers. I was able to do it for this book and boy, I did not regret it. I stopped the book I was reading and hopped on this one faster than the Flash. Harper and Knox's story continues and also concludes their arc in this fourth book.

description

I love visiting their world. And I do it often. I think I re-read their first book about a dozen times. I come back to them again and again as they are one of my favourite PNR couples. In this book we finally have a conclusion for their foes.

description

My problem now, is the fact that I've re-read it so many times that all the reiterations feel unnecessary and fillerish. But for others they are probably a good thing. I usually appreciate some reiterations here and there, especially in series, as my memory isn't the greatest. In this case, I felt that at least some of them were not needed, such as the "anchor" explanation. If you read the previous three books it's not something that you need reminding of. And if you haven't read them, what on earth are you waiting for??!!(Go read them now!) You can't really read this one as a standalone.

description

Regardless, I had fun and seeing their family grow was very entertaining. Their addition was adorable and I wanted to read more and more about him as he grows. I would love to linger more so I'm probably gonna re-read this first chance I get.

description

Their story finishes satisfyingly but I'll miss them. At least we'll see them all again in the next book as Suzanne Wright has said she will continue on giving stories to the secondary characters. I have a suspicion Khloe and Keenan are next! Yay!

P.S. Seriously, don't wait, go read the first three books!

Suzanne Wright you made my day!!!!
KNOX and HARPER, I have missed you. I love this couple so much!!!!
Epic read. I literally couldn't have asked for more from these characters or this book .
The fourth horseman is finally unmasked in this last Knox and Harper novel but more importantly Suzanne also hints with her ending and acknowledgements to the fact that she intends to pen more stories based around her secondary characters in this series. Yippee!!!!!!
I have to ask, did anybody else think that baby Asher reminded them of Jack-Jack (the baby from the animated movie "The Incredibles"). I had that image in my mind so many times while reading.

the incredibles disney GIF
For anybody that has concerns after book three, there was very little recapping in this one. Not that I could care less, this was a simply fabulous read. Suzanne Wright can do no wrong in my eyes!!!!
I am up for anything she writes.

This series is by far my favorite PNR series. I loved all 4 books, I loved Knox, I loved Harper, I loved Asher and I loved all the side characters. I'm sad that this is the last book to focus on Knox, Harper and Asher but I'm also very excited to see what's going to happen with future side character books. I highly recommend this series!

4.5*

I love Knox and Harper they are one of my favourite book couples. I’ve been excited and waiting not so patiently for this book for what seems like ages.

Knox is tall dark handsome and powerful. Harper is a brilliant female character, strong, intelligent, loyal, funny. I could go on but this is one of the strengths of this author. It’s surprising just how many female authors fail to write a convincing female character.

Baby Asher is absolutely adorable and he completely stole my heart.

The Horseman threat is not over with one still out there. Knox and Harper worry for the safely of their young son Asher. And they’re right to worry since it seems that Asher is a target.

I loved this book I really did and I want to give 5* but I had two problems.

The first is a plot issue. I don’t want to put a spoiler because I know when I’m reading reviews I can never resist a spoiler and I don’t want to give anything away. But something just seemed so obvious.

The second is the recapping. I’ve complained about this before (several times) I even stopped reading the werewolf series because I couldn’t stand the constant recapping.
I’ll admit it didn’t seem as bad as the previous book but that could be because I didn’t move straight onto this.
My argument is this isn’t a standalone if you want a recap re-read the previous books.

It’s not long since I did a re-read of this series but this taste of Knox and Harper has made me want to do another.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Boring, predictable and finished *⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

We're back with the most powerful demon in existence, Knox Thorne and his mate and anchor, tattooist and sphinx, Harper Wallis Thorne in the forth installment in the series and last of the couple as main characters. I must say that I was hugely disappointed in the book and story and myself. Why myself, you ask? Well, when I first found this series, I loved it - actually scratch that; I loved the first book. The second disappointed me as well as the third. All of the books was like a repeat of the previous ones and I got easily bored. They got very predictable and lost its appeal. Meaning, I found myself starting to skim. I even skimmed the sex scenes.... Back to the point, I loved the first book, loved it when I re-read it the first time and then BAM the second time re-reading it, it no longer appealed to me. Nor did the series.
“It’ll never be over.” Even before she’d gotten pregnant, Knox and Harper both vowed that if anyone dared to come after their child, they would subject that fucker to an unimaginable suffering and relay a strong message that targeting their child would be a grave mistake.
Levi’s grin was somewhat bloodthirsty. “It’s been a while since we really partied like that. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll bring the popcorn. And the chainsaw. The rusty one with the duller blade. The fucker won’t be needing their limbs for what we have in mind.”
Knox returned his grin. “Just don’t forget the hot iron so we can cauterize the stumps. You always forget the hot iron.”
“I know. Who forgets to bring a hot iron to a party, for God’s sake?”

Sure, Knox is still seriously hot and I have no problem with him. At all. Knox were never the problem, Harper was. I slowly became annoyed with her and her family. But yeah, my main problem was starting to dislike Harper, which is not a good thing as she is a main character. However, one thing this series has is that we get to see Knox being a father. This I adored and loved to see: though it wasn't enough scenes between them, I wanted more with those two. It was something that bothered me with Feral Sins ; Trey becomes a father, but you don't get to see him as one, and that ruined things for me as I love Trey so so much. Overall, I'm glad I'm done with the couple, though I'll miss Knox. A lot. Oh and I wonder if Asher Knox Thorne will get his own book...
Brushing his mouth over hers, Knox lifted a brow. “You think I’d let you leave?”
“I could totally leave if I wanted to. You insist on ignoring my warnings about just how terrifying I can be when in berserker mode. It takes a lot for me to really lose my shit. But when I do, I do it in a spectacular fashion. Seriously, people have fled in fear when faced with—stop laughing at me.”
Shoulders shaking, Knox captured her face between her hands. “Only you could melt my mood when it’s so foul.” He kissed her, poured himself into her. Sipped and nipped and bit, alternating between gentle and rough. Then, grabbing a handful of her hair, he snatched her head back and traced the shape of her mouth with his tongue. “Mine.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Paranormal Romance.
Series: - Series, Book Four.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Knox Thorne.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - I guess.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably not, even though it's Knox.
Rating - 2.5/2 (can't go lower; it's Knox!) stars.

I really enjoyed this re-read, I think more so than when I first read it, quite possibly because unlike the first time I didn’t read it right after the previous two in the series.

In this book Knox and Harper who now have baby Asher have to deal with the fourth horseman re-emerging and causing trouble in a variety of ways.

Harper and Knox remain awesome, both are fierce and strong, and their chemistry continues to wonderfully sizzle off the page.

Asher was adorable and I liked how we didn't find out what his demon was until the end.

I am a huge Suzanne Wright fan and I have read, and loved, every one of her books. What I love most about her writing, are the heroines. Suzanne sure knows how to write about kickass.. "I don't take no shit from no-one" ..heroines https://www.google.com/search?q=emoticons I love them and Harper is definitely one of my favorites. I fell in love with her when we met in "Burn".

The second reason I love Suzanne's book....are her alpha men. She sure knows how to write some HOT "you're mine" Alpha's, and again...Knox is definitely one of my favorites https://www.google.com/search?q=emoticons

Now this book is not a stand alone. It's the fourth book in an awesome series and I urge you all to give it a try. Nobody does paranormal/fantasy the way this author does.

I mself can't wait for Keenan and Tanner's books. I am sure they will be just as awesome are Harper and Knox'

I have a feeling I read this fourth book already. It was basically book 3, and book 2, just with a small child thrown in for good measure. Don't get me wrong - I liked it, but this just wasn't anything new or exciting. None of the side characters really get further developed, the four horseman story line is shown yet again, and people are still trying to attack Harper. Oh and sex with invisible psychic fingers, which really is as weird as it sounds (don't ask). Maybe reading these last three books so close together is where I went wrong, but I think it still would have felt repetitive even with a larger reading gap. Suzanne Wright also tends to do this with her werewolf book series - the girl is snarky, the guy is domineering, and there's an older female relative that is verbally combative. Wright knows how to write (ha, that was unintentional), but I think she would be better off just writing a bunch of standalone books instead of books in a series; she just doesn't differentiate the books enough. Basically, just pick up the first book in each series she has and you'll be good :)

5 Gazillion ‘Perfect Powerful Trifecta’ Stars

OoooooMmmmmGgggg!!! What a PERFECT and BRILLIANT conclusion for the Four Horsemen mystery but most of all for the power couple – or really trifecta – of Knox, Harper and little Asher! Talk about a BLAZING wrap up! <3

I honestly couldn’t have wished for a better ‘ending’ for this part/couple of all time favorite series, Dark in You. Suzanne Wright showed once again her unparalleled talent in creating this alluring and enrapturing paranormal/demon universe with all its witty and enticing characters, as well as complex sub plots that have kept us hooked, along with the characters throughout all the series, and seriously craving our Knox and Harper fix.

“Then you’d better have a good long talk with your damn demon,” she told him, “because three brands are quite enough. Especially since one of them is a freaking choker that pretty much screams ‘property of Knox Thorne’.”
“Hmm, it really does say that, doesn’t it?” Knox feathered his fingertip over the thorny choker.
“You don’t have to sound so happy about that,” she grumbled.

All the Dark In You cast are extraordinary, but Knox and Harper – and now little Asher – completely stole my heart in book one, going straight to my all time fav PNR couple. If you haven’t yet read this EPIC paranormal romance, you really need to get your one clicking finger working, and start with book one, BURN, to fully emerge yourself and enjoy every single second of this demoniac universe.

Knox and Harper, now as parents of the adorable Asher, prepare themselves to face the last of the ever present (even if in the background at times) threat of the last fourth Horseman. Juggling new parenthood with their responsible as Primes plus all the outside forces trying to cause them added problems in their relationship, and ultimately the big threat, one can say Harper and Knox have a busy time as usual, but what stood out in every single of this moments and battles id just how much LOVE and DEVOTION there is between these two.

In truth, she fucking owned him—mind, body, and soul. But he was okay with that, because he owned her just the same.

She did something to him. Fed something in him. Breathed life into his world. He couldn’t be without her.

She’s singular. Extraordinary. No one in the world could compare to her. And she’s mine.

Oh my, Knox has been a scorcher from the very first book, Burn, but I DARE YOU to not fall in love with this man/demon! He is my ultimate PNR best book boyfriend! And one of my biggest reasons for that enchantment for all things Thorne is his unwavering love, obsession, protective and possessiveness, and even WORSHIP, of Harper.

Of course she deserves all that and more, her wittiness, snarky ‘give no f@cks’ attitude, but loving and soft hidden personality, made me love her and put her in my all time fav kick@ss female characters. So who better to be paired with Knox?! They knew just how lucky they were to have found one another, and it was visible in every moment, every thought and every action. Too many amazing quotes to prove Knox swoon-worthiness TBH! Sigh…

She was a thirst he couldn’t quite quench. A hunger he’d never fully sate. A drug he’d forever crave.

Demons were prone to developing addictions, and this little sphinx had long ago become Knox’s. She was a drug he would never get enough of—one he had no intention of ever giving up. A drug that pumped through his veins, invigorated every nerve ending, and stimulated every part of him.

Embers, truly was the PERFECT cherry on top of the delicious PNR literary dream that was Knox and Harper’s Dark in You books. Sure, as per my usual in suspense/mysteries, I got an inkling at the start of who was the villain – and was later on confirmed my suspicions, lol – but that didn’t deter one big of my devouring of the story, or even the unfolding of the sub plot. I gorged on every single clue, every single revelation and scene, as well as those SCORCHING HOT moments. Those two could burn up a house with that sexual chemistry, that’s for sure!

Suzanne Wright revealed once again her uber creative ming, and writing talent with this mesmerizing demoniac universe to where she completely transports us and we never want to leave. So much so, that after the EPIC love story that was Knox and Harper’s – and with all this teasing about the secondary characters – I’m already counting the days to my next Dark in You fix, craving every single one of the secondary character’s own story! PNR Midas touch I tell you! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

“I love you, baby. Always will.”
She kissed him. “I love you right back, so I’d say all is good.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You love me, I love you, our son is safe, and you finally fear me. So all is definitely good.”
“I wouldn’t say that I f—”
“Just go with it, Thorne. Just go with it.”

"I’ve never had someone as deeply enmeshed in my life as you are."
description

Embers is the fourth book in the Dark in You Series. Harper and Knox have their hands full running businesses, managing people, keeping their marriage alive, and raising their baby Asher. When their family is under attack, Knox and Harper will do whatever it takes to seek revenge and bring wrath down on the people that want to cause them harm.

description
"...you’re something I need."
Told in multiple POV, Embers is another delicious installment in the Knox and Harper story. Now that their son Asher has joined the family, the dynamics between Harper and Knox have shifted drastically. Now they have more than just themselves to think about. Knox remains a "hot alpha male" who dominates everything he touches. Harper continues to amaze me with her drive to keep her family functioning and remain independent and fiercely strong. Once again, Suzanne Wright has created a magical world that once you enter, you will never want to leave.
"Home is where it is safe."
Overall, Embers is another winning read by Suzanne Wright with passion, romance, and paranormal goodness. Dark in You is a series that will appeal to any and all paranormal romance fans. I highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a great escape! I truly hope there is more to come from this series because honestly, I will never get enough!

1st read 18/07/2018, 09/07/2019, 19/03/2020.

Still fab. Still a must read and still a load of fun.

The hunt is on for the fourth huntsman but they don't need to look far because he shall come to them.

A reread was a must as Tanner Devon are up next and I can't wait. I'm also hoping for Larkin Teague, Khloe Keenan (and his monster c$ck) lol but who will Levi get together with? Maybe the witch?

My heart beat so fast for these three and how adorable is Asher? Very adorable and he is a handful.

It is an amazing ending.

I loved everything and would love more.

Read the series this author is fabulous, amazing and original in her ideas.

“There’ll always be danger lurking, but I don’t think it’ll come too close to us. Not when I have a mate who can be absolutely terrifying when she chooses to be.”
Harper’s mouth curved. “So you fear me now. Good.”
He hesitated. “I’m not saying I fear you. But I’m conceding that you can be scary.”
She frowned, incredulous. “You still don’t fear me?”
“Of course not.”
“I sliced off that woman’s toes with a flaming stiletto blade, one by one … and you don’t find me scary?”
Fighting a smile, Knox rolled onto his back and draped her over him. “It’s hard to fear someone who once told me they loved me while bent over the toilet with vomit in their hair.”
Harper cringed. “Stop. You fear me. You do. Accept it.”
He skimmed his fingers through her hair, lips twitching. “You know, when you first told me you loved me, you shocked the absolute shit out of me.”
The memory made her smile. “I know. Back then, I hadn’t thought you’d ever feel the same, mostly because I hadn’t thought that ‘love’ was anywhere on your emotional scale.”
“It was on my scale a long, long time ago. But then that scale shrunk.” He’d become someone hard. Cold. He couldn’t say he was now either warm or cuddly, but he was no longer at risk of losing himself. And that was all because of the very person sprawled on top of him.
Knox caught her face between his hands. “I love you, baby. Always will.”
She kissed him. “I love you right back, so I’d say all is good.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You love me, I love you, our son is safe, and you finally fear me. So all is definitely good.”

Book four in the series is Knox and Harper again.
For the moment there settled and enjoying family life along with there young son Asher.
The fourth Horseman has up to now kept a very low profile, but that changes when their son is again targeted and whoever this unknown enemy is they’ve resurfaced and are yet again targeting Knox and his family.
They’re also in control of a convenient puppet who is currently carrying out their dirty work.
Also, this time around it’s Knox having to deal with Harper’s past for a change something he is most definitely struggling with karma really does suck.
We also get to see a side to Harper here that we haven’t experienced yet.
With her family threatened she totally goes postal and brings the goods to the table in a way that was as vicious as it was protective.
Harper is one scary mother when her loved ones are threatened.
So here we finally get some much-needed closure in regards to the final Horseman and also concerning little Asher.
This also brought the heat and the chemistry between Knox and Harper yet again explodes off the page with its raw intensity.
This was such a fitting finale and while I am sad to be finally leaving these two behind I’m also equally excited to finally get to experience Tanner and Devon's story next.

Embers, book 4 in Suzanne Wright’s Dark in You Series, is just as amazing as the previous 3! This is the final book focusing on Knox and Harper and we get to meet their adorable tiny addition, Asher! I don’t want to ruin the series for you, so I won’t go into detail regarding the plot line. It’s my opinion that this shouldn’t be read as standalone. You’ll need to start from the beginning to fully enjoy and appreciate the cast of characters.

I will say that we’ve gone on quite the ride with these two. They’ve had their emotional ups and downs while navigating their unique relationship. Over the course of the series, Knox and Harper take a journey of self discovery, growth and deepening passion; which I adored.

“I’ve never had someone as deeply enmeshed in my life as you are, Harper. Never wanted anyone to be. I don’t have any real experience with emotional intimacy, which means I’m often flying blind here.”

Of course, all while being attacked from both internal and external forces! There’s lots of intrigue that will keep you guessing as Knox and Harper try to uncover a conspiracy. A conspiracy that could upset the demon world 😉

As typical with all the books by this author, there’s a lot of fun and hilarity that brings all the characters together and highlights how close they are. Completely drew me in. The secondary characters surrounding Knox and Harper are fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about them. Adorable, evil, trouble makers, scary as hell and loyal to a fault. AND my review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention Lou (short for Lucifer). He’s an endearing socially inept goof! Major comic relief moments for me… He doesn’t show up a lot but when he does he’s hilarious.

“What time did you get here?” Knox asked him.

Lou pursed his lips. “I’m too stoned to be entirely sure, if I’m honest. And I’m rarely honest. But then, maybe that’s a lie”

And boy did I love Asher! He’s too cute. He has everyone wrapped around his chubby little fingers. It was definitely a treat to see super scary, potentially world destroying Knox soften just a bit around the edges. Aside from Harper, his son means everything to him.

Ultimately, I was left totally satisfied with the ending of their story. But there is consolation because we’ll see them again. It’s my understanding that the series will continue with the secondary characters getting their own stories. Which I’m stoked about! I can’t wait. Truly, if you’re a fan of exciting paranormal romances with a huge dose of laughs and mystery you’ll love this. Suzanne Wright is fabulous and if you haven’t read any of her works; get on it!!! I beg of you LOL

Knox was a giant asshole concerning the Drew situation especially as Harper was basically tripping over his ex hookups throughout this series who were all vile to her. Rating slightly lowered grrrrrr

Reread, spoilers ahead

This one escaped the OW drama ....only to hit us with OM drama 🤦
I loved Asher and wanted more of him
Again some repeating
Bad guys get their just deserts finally
I enjoyed this series and look forward to the guys getting their own books(hopefully)

Original thoughts

3.5* rounded up and spoilers ahead!

A good addition to Knox and Harper's story, although I mostly enjoyed it I had some minor quibbles -
Too much repetition, this should've been labelled as not a standalone so fans of the series wouldn't be bogged down with stuff we already knew.
After escaping the OW drama I really could've done without the Drew plotline.
What's up with all the sex scenes being almost the same-Knox "don't come until I say" Harper "oh you mother f**kin bastard" blah blah blah I definitely expected more imaginative sexy times from this author.
Finally Harper spoke up a bit about Knox's OW, she took it so well in the previous books I was beginning to develop a complex but I still didn't get closure on that. I wanted her to show that it bothered her in some way (idk I'm perverse like that lol).
All in all I liked this one ok enough and was happy to get to the last of the who's who in the horsemen plot. I loved Asher and would hope he'd get his own book eventually. I'm a fan of this author's books so I'm definitely down for all secondary characters including Lou to get their stories told.

‼️This is a review that covers the first 4 books of the series that have the same H and h.

‼️This contains some SPOILERS

❤️I LOVE ASHER♥️

4.5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 rounded up this would have been more like a 4 star cause of ALL THE OWD. But it’s so hard to find a safe read with obsessed alpha men who will stop at nothing to get and keep their woman. So I rounded up but I can’t give it 5 stars either cause I hate OWD to this degree.

💕So this was fun. And overall very enjoyable series.
It’s hard to find the relationship dynamic like this. OTT JP craziness. Obsessed hero. Very alpha male. Will do whatever it takes to get and keep her. Morally grey H.

❤️So I ate it up. Especially since we get so much relationship and intimacy over the 4 books. They just got better and better. I ♥️ a hero that takes care of his woman. He can’t get enough of her can’t stop touching her. Needs to be around her all the time.
Touch her and die! It was great.

🌟Brief Summary:
-So the H and h are demons living in a world we’re humans don’t know their demon world that in basically living amongst them.

-Knox is a super old super rich super hot billionaire who owns much of Las Vegas.
Harper is bad ass bitch who is a tattoo artist so she definitely has a more normal life. But also more fire!
They meet one night in the Underground after Harper wins a fight she had step into for her friend. He is immediately intrigued by her and calls her to his office.

-When they meet they realize they are each others Anchor (a psi bond that’s non sexual and helps keep each others demon under control). He will stop at nothing to get her to bond with him. She is unsure since he is the most feared and powerful demon there is.

-As Knox tries to convince Harper to bond with him they can’t fight their physical and sexual attraction. Little does Knox know that for the first time in his life him and his demon are falling HARD for Harper. Being her Anchor might not be enough for him.

-There is also a big bad guy trying to take over the world and rid the world of Knox.

-Now with each book there is one big baddie that’s handled but also a big overall baddie that gets wrapped up in book 4.

❣️Things I Liked/Loved❣️
-I absolutely love how this relationship was. Ugh swoon. It’s so hard to find this kind of dynamic and SW does it so well. I soaked it up and basked in it.

-loved ♥️seeing their relationship grow. And how different Harper is for Knox. I love that he didn’t have feelings EVER before her.

-All the little intimate touches. The constant needs for her to be close and to touch her.
Loved how he wanted to care for her.
He loved brushing her hair❤️
How absolutely obsessed him and his demon are for her!
OTT JP and protective!

-Loved that Harper was a bad ass and definitely not a doormat.

Things I Did 💔 Not Like

-SW has a lot of repetition in her stories and writing. Very formulated at times.

‼️I hate the inconsistency with SW books.
🤔 So we are told in book 1 that Knox’s demon DOES NOT attach to woman (or anyone) that once he is done with them he is DONE. And usually that’s weeks or days. So in book 2 we get Alethea Knox ex hookup buddy for CENTURIES🤯?….And Knox says MULTIPLE times that’s his demon DOES NOT like Alethea…… what? So then why or how did she become a regular hookup for centuries? Or even for one night? If his demon doesn’t like or want the OW he is like all out and Knox has to move on.
So how is this possible? The demons wants and likes are in control of a lot of Knox Sexual encounters so this makes NO SENSE.
🤔Also when she is first introduced we are told it was OCCASIONAL ONS over centuries…. That leads you to believe it wasn’t often. Then by book 4 she was practically his ex girlfriend they hooked up so much 🤯.

‼️Another inconsistency.
In book one Isla was his close friend from his youth. Knox and his sentries grew up with her and they parted ways because she thought Knox was her Anchor. When Harper asks him SPECIFICALLY if they had hooked up he says NO. But by book 4 we are told that Isla was his past bed buddies. So was she or not? Cause we definitely are told NO she just thought they were Anchors and she seemed a bit obsessed but they never crossed those lines.

‼️This kind of stuff is annoying. Because it changes the dynamic between of the characters. Knox was cold, unattainable, never kept woman around for more then a few weeks. Never played with his woman. It was all just unemotional sex. He wasn’t capable of anything more cause he didn’t have it in him UNTIL HARPER. His demon got bored with woman VERY FAST…. UNTIL HARPER. And his demon HAD TO WANT THE WOMAN.
If you change the rules then you change the whole character. It makes no sense to me. Cause now all of the sudden he had these woman around for a very long time. His demon didn’t need to like the OW and he had some form of attachment to these woman to keep them around for so long. Woman that were “just friends” are now ex hookups? It changes the whole dynamic for book 1. MAKES NO SENSE! YOU CANT CHANGE THE WHOLE FOUNDATION OF A CHARACTER TO SUIT YOUR NEED FOR DRAMA.

‼️ON THAT NOTE… the OWD was out of control and I hated it. Every woman they come across has slept with Knox and feels the need to tell Harper ALL ABOUT IT. Literally like 3 new woman every book. I personally think that after book 1 we just didn’t need the constant reminder of his past.
‼️And where is the OMD? We get one book with OMD.. that’s just not fair. And Harper hadn’t even slept with the guy. I mean really why the imbalance.

‼️Also I HATED that in book 1 Knox says his demon becomes OBSESSED with woman fixated on them until he got bored (very quickly) and moved on. No I didn’t like this AT ALL. I didn’t want any kind of obsession or fixation on anyone other than Harper.. however short lived. It really made it hard for me to get into them as a couple at first cause I was thinking 🤔 welp your just one in a long line… I hated that.

🥀 Hero:
Knox- centuries old
He is a OTT JP ALPHA- but only for his Harper💕
He is a billionaire manwhore. He is the leader of his own Lair. He is the owner of the Underground strip and many other businesses. His demon doesn’t attach itself to ANYONE. So his demon gets hyper focused on a conquest and very quickly looses interest and that why the hero is always with different woman.
Him and his demon don’t love anyone and never have any emotions till the h.

🦋 Heroine:
Harper- mid 20s?
She is a tattoo artist. She owns her own shop with her friend. She is part of the Walis family and Lair
She is bad ass and takes no shit
She is strong and independent

💭 POV:
Third person duel POV

😡/😍 Angst level:
Overall low to Medium

❤️‍🔥 Sex & Burn Rate:
Medium for book 1
Fast for book 2-4 they are already together
🔥🔥🔥 good alpha sex scenes but kinda repetitive to. Great chemistry.

🌓 Push/Pull:
Minor push away from h to H in the first half of book1. After that they are solid.
In book 1 Knox does think that his demon won’t attach to Harper (cause he has never) so when they start hooking up they both think there is a countdown till his demon gets bored and Knox will have to move on…. Again 🤔 this is why all the shit with Alethea made NO SENSE! None (see details above)

☠️ OW/OM Drama:
Tons!
OMD- book 1 Harpers cheating ex BF wants her back. He’s human so he isn’t a threat the Knox and it’s pretty insignificant.

OMD- in book 4 - Knox finally gets to see what’s it’s like to have OM shoved in his face! 🥳 Harper ex crush and BFF brother comes back in town and he wants Harper. He always has. They had one make out session. No sex. But Knox’s reads his thoughts and get a up front view of their ex make out session… 🥳💕 it was DELICIOUS!

OWD- ugh. There is almost to much to detail…… there is like 3-4 woman in EACH Book.. book 4 had the least.
EVERY woman either wants Knox or has hooked up with him. They ALL cause drama for Harper. Shove it in her face and brag or try to demean her. (Look at my note above) 👆🏻 if you want some specific details.
Main woman is Alethea- his ex hookup buddy for CENTURIES. Details above.

‼️Anyways I hated all the OWD. After book 1 and they are sold we don’t need constant reminders and details of his past. ESP since there are so many. I also didnt like how Harper chose to deal with the OW. I think Knox needed to put these bitches in their place (and he did at times just not enough) since he was the one that got to have all the fun.

🤮 OW/OM Sex / Fluid or DNA Exchange:
None. So from the moment they meet in book 1 there are NO OP at all.

🤬 Cheating:
None

👰🏼‍♀️ Virgins:
None
Knox- manwhore extreme -
But we don get details like… he never had ANY feelings for any woman ever. He never brought them to his personal mansion♥️ live this. He only had sex w them at his hotels and once he mates Harper he had ALL the beds replaced❤️ love this. He always used condoms. And the woman were interchangeable to him.

Harper- she had a normal sex life. Notmal boyfriends and such. Not a lot of details for her but demons are very sexual creatures and it’s normal to have reg sex. She had never been with a demon though so her sex w Knox is obviously way better.

⛈️Separation/ 3rd Act Breakup:
None not ever once these two hookup that’s it! They are solid and get kore so as each book goes on.

🎧AUDIO
1 star Horrid! Don’t do it! The narrator was so bad w the voices. She made them all out to be cartoony and just really really bad.

Safety⚠️Triggers🗡️:
Condoms then none of
No talks of STD
Violence
Tons of OWD

🌈Epilogue:
No

🥂HEA:
We definitely know they have a HEA they are soooo solid.
Mates with a kid but it is technically a HFN cause the series goes on w other characters

My opinion is just that… MY OPINION.❌
I know we all get passionate about our favorite reads and characters but we should respect each opinions a thoughts. ~Thank you

Well, it's safe to say that Knox and Harper are back, better than ever. I'm actually sad to see their story end, as in this is said to be the last book in which they are the main characters. There will be other books in this series and I am looking forward to that, especially Khloë and Keenan's story. I'm sure it will be quite hilarious. Just imagining those two together has me smiling.

I'm not going to give away any spoilers, since it is already the fourth book and if you read the previous ones, by now you already can guess what's going to happen in this one. Or can you...?

All in all, this was and is one of my favourite series. All that remains for me to do now, is to wait for the next book.

"Embers" is the fantastic continuation of Harper and Knox's tale.

In the ongoing storyline of the Demon world, Harper and Knox face the biggest challenge of it all..parenthood.
With the birth of their son Asher (who is the cutest and naughtiest baby EVER), they deal with not only the fear and adoration of the lair, but also the kidnapping attempts by the mysterious fourth horseman, an indestructible shape-shifting demon, lecherous exes, murdered dolphins and finally discover the depths of their love and devotion for each other, as well as their little one.

The book keeps you hooked from page one- its cute, sexy, thrilling and adorable all at the same time, and genuinely leaves you wanting to read more. Even the secondary characters are as expected- equally engaging and fantastic.

I adore you Harper, Knox, Asher, and Ms Wright.

An explosive conclusion to Knox and Harper’s love story and I totally loved it!
Their son was awwwwdorable with unique dose of power and mischief. So many things I loved in this book, that I’m going to reread the whole series soon.
I especially enjoyed the OM drama in this one. Admit it, after all the drama with Knox’s exes he deserved it.
So many characters I Loved made an appearance and stole my heart again. Especially Harper’s imp family and best friends.

Recommending the whole series.

Embers is the perfect conclusion to what has become one of my favourite PNR series. It was everything I'd hoped for and then some.

Hint, hint ...... If the author wants to revisit that world with stories on some if the other characters I'd be thrilled to bits.

Bloody loved it.

It's hard to say goodbye to characters you've grown to love. Yeah, I know Knox and Harper will still be mentioned in the secondary characters books but it will not be the same.

I wonder who get their story first. Khloe and Keenan? Devon and Tanner? Hmmmm...

What I love more though, is to read a story about Asher.

Oh, did I mention how much I love this series and its characters? I truly do. 😊

I know this was supposed to be the big conclusion. And we had the baby! Well I was bored silly. It was just a let down for me. Overall the series is good, but not SWs strongest.

4 stars!

Action, mystery, supernatural badassery, lots of laughs, romance and steamy sexy time, it's all here as Harper and Knox continue the search for the fourth and illusive horseman – now with baby in tow.

Suzanne Wright has a gift for creating intricate and well-developed paranormal worlds, and she’s done a great job with series. The demons, their behaviour and powers, their world that is hidden from the humans, and even the intricate politics are wonderfully established to create something that feels real. And even though I had forgotten some of the detail from previous books, she provides enough information to catch you up and ensure you don’t feel lost, which I really appreciated.

Anyway, we’re back with Harper and Knox. The uber-powerful Primes are enjoying life with their new son, but their joy in having him comes with a huge vulnerability as their son is targeted by a new and unknown threat. The demon baby seems to be very capable of defending himself, but his parents aren’t taking any chances, pulling out all of their considerable power as they, their sentinels and their family close in on the final of the Four Horseman, determined to rid their world of the threat to their family, and the demonic hierarchy, once and for all.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s fun and exciting, and I loved diving back in to this world. There is mystery and intrigue alongside all of the paranormal action and I was madly developing theories along the way, and I loved the twists, turns and surprising reveals as it all played out. As always with Suzanne Wright, there’s also a healthy dose of humor to keep things light and entertaining, and I loved the banter, teasing and insults thrown around.

And, of course, there is the continued love story between Knox and Harper. Knox is pretty much the most powerful demon in existence and an epic badass, and as awesome as it was seeing him and all of his power, I love seeing him in the role of mate and father just as much. And Harper’s badassery is just as impressive. They are a fantastic power couple, and their love for each other was beautiful to see – and their sex life continues to be hot, steamy and supernaturally-enhanced, creating a wonderful dynamic for this committed couple.

“I’ve never had someone as deeply enmeshed in my life as you are, Harper. Never wanted anyone to be. I don’t have any real experience with emotional intimacy, which means I’m often flying blind here. Not being good at something pisses me off. But you … you’re something I need. I absolutely refuse to live a life that doesn’t have you in it.”

The rest of the characters introduced throughout the series continue to play a part, and I loved seeing them all again, and little Asher is a great addition as well. Though just a baby, he has a meaningful presence in the story, and his little mannerisms and attitude are just as entertaining as his parents.

This is the final book in Knox and Harper’s story arc, but the series will continue with books for some of the side characters, with Devon and Tanner up first! I’m excited to revisit this world, and look forward to whatever is coming next.

4 stars.
