There is nothing better for rereading a series than box sets. This author has gone one further and put every book so far in the BLACK MESA WOLVES series and book one of the SILVERTIP SHIFTERS too into one box set for an amazing price.
I have owned and read every one of these books and love rereading them for the sheer pleasure and emotional escape they give me.
1 - GUARDIAN WOLF
A good short start to a new series.
My one big downer is I dislike the pack law that permeates this series. It is harsh, cruel and too old fashioned for my taste.
The heartache that Lily has suffered comes across and you cannot help but feel for her. It has taken two years for Lily to get over what she did and deal with the guilt and grief. I also really feel for the young man Lily accidently turned who is sentenced to death through no fault of his own. What is wrong with being a turned wolf as long as he pledges loyalty to the pack. The fact he didn’t/wouldn’t fight Lily spoke highly of his character.
Kieran was sent as a witness to see that pack law was upheld and saw Lily kill the young man. He knew then Lily was his mate but he has had to bid his time whilst Lily dealt with what she had done. Kieran is a real alpha wolf guardian and has known Lily was his since he first set eyes on her.
Once Lily decided to get back into life and reclaim her duty as a guardian wolf and have sex again Kieran made his move and claimed Lily, though Lily did some claiming of her own.
2 - ALPHA WOLF
I have read this book 3 times to see if it is my perception that is off.
This is my least favourite book in this series and the reason I didn’t read any more for ages but luckily I did come back to it and love the rest of the series.
We met Sara and Rafe in book 1 and you could feel the vibes around them then.
This started off so well and by the end I didn’t care if they ended up with a HEA or not.
Sara is a guardian wolf and for some strange reason she has lots of insecurities and believes she needs to prove herself to her pack. The pack treat her as a lightweight even if she is a guardian due to the fact she has been easy going, party girl, slutty Sara.
She then panics when Rafe makes his intentions of wanting her as his mate clear. She pushes him away but it is only human Sara who is unsure, her wolf has known for a year who her mate is. Not sure why human Sara is so thick. When she finds out Rafe is leaving to form his own pack she gets angry.
Sara was so indecisive and didn’t even know what she was on about every time she said she had to prove herself, sounded like a rehearsed speech. She was just a whiny child and proved her immaturity by casting all the blame on Rafe. She even goes to a bar to pick up some random guy rather than face the truth. I was getting dizzy with her dithering and self-centeredness.
Sara was queen of the ditherers, NOT an impressive alpha female to me, her behaviour put me right off her.
Rafe is the eldest Bardou son and has always know he was going to be a future Alpha and start his own pack under the umbrella of the Black Mesa Pack. Even though it has been decided where he is to go he cannot get started on that until Sara realises what she is to him and accepts she is his Alpha female.
Rafe was too soft on her, he should have been more open and stronger in his feelings and asked her flat out what she wanted and told her what he wanted.
Rafe should have done better than Sara as a mate but he has to take some of the blame for being too tame in his behaviour towards her. They are wolves and he is an alpha but didn’t act like one till the end when Caleb goaded him. Then he lets her back off again. Boring merry go round again.
Whilst on patrol with Sara, trouble happens and Sara finally sees the obvious. Sara kicks ass and all is great. HEA.
I was totally sick of these two by the end of this story.
I did really like Rafe’s wolf giving him grief for letting Sara run from them. That was funny but mating in a dirty back alley. Yuk.
3 - HUNTING A WOLF
What a great contrast. The biggest most hot headed, overprotective of all the guardians matched with mousy little Rielle, the pack historian.
A good honest fun read.
Caleb helps in bringing out Rielle’s wolf whom she had managed to suppress by moving away from the pack and by living life more as a human than a wolf. Rielle is a smart lady and softens Caleb’s tough aggressive take on life and helps him find balance
Caleb is really funny when he finds himself attracted to Rielle and when he realises she is his mate all his protective instincts go really haywire and get him into BIG trouble.
So sad Caleb being punished but he really deserved it, will be interesting to see how things go in the future for Caleb and Rielle.
Things are also getting very interesting with the background story of the rogues.
4 - WILD WOLF
What a really good interesting read this book was.
Tate is an easy go lucky type of man who is happiest working with his horses. He has no interest in finding his mate yet. Unfortunately for him he bumps into her and she walks away. He meets her again; Claire spends the night with him then leaves him.
Claire is a wild wolf with no pack affiliations at all, raised to be capable, independent and strong, whilst Tate is all about his pack which is his family.
Tate and Claire were a good match and I enjoyed their story but I was a bit annoyed at her attitude about the rogues. Tate knew more about them as he is a Guardian for the pack. Boy was Claire proven wrong.
Good story with a decent amount of tension and some baddies getting what they deserved.
4.25 - SOLSTICE WOLF
I felt a bit sad reading this one and could not see a resolution to their problems.
Lia with her dream to be a bigshot lawyer in the city and Conner with his big hearted but poor money management of his medical clinic
These two had forgotten what was important in their lives and needed to find the balance to be who they are meant to be.
I thought the resolution was a bit rushed and whilst Lia will find happiness returning to work as a small town lawyer, Connor still has to temper saying yes to every poor patient that comes in the clinic as the grant won’t last forever and they will be back in the same money trouble place they are now.
Hopefully they will find the balance they and their wolves need.
4.5 - THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Lovely Christmas story.
Poor Ana pinning for her mate who cannot be her mate as he is human. She had to walk away from Mason for his safety.
Mason was all confused as Ana just dumped him with no explanation and he could not get interested in any other woman.
A great twist at the end sorted everything out. But I can imagine it was a shock for Mason.
4.75 - NEW YEAR WOLF
A lovely revisit to Caleb and Rielle. Caleb has put himself together and grown some since his big mistake. Having his mate with him is a part of that but the rest is him maturing.
He now works and trains young pack members to fight and is running a fight school.
If you are a fan of Black Mesa Wolves, this is a must read. I am not going to give the story away but I loved the ending.
This is one of my favourite short stories Ms Harper puts out for this series.
6 - PROTECTOR WOLF
Must catch up with this series.
Haven’t read a Black Mesa Wolf book for years, bought Guardian Wolf a long time ago. They just seemed to not be written for a while. I will be looking into catching up with them.
A good story but just did not understand Jace’s reluctance to claim his mate, it was not the fact she has two cubs as he adores them. We learnt a lot about Jace’s history and understood him but Caitlyn and her cubs background is never really explained, the cubs father is never explained.
I came away feeling like I had missed out on something, not sure if there is more information in the series. Caitlyn is Kieran’s sister after all so there may be more in his story about her.
Book had a few editing mistakes and Jace was called Jay at one point.
Other than these points a good read.

I love how this author is mixing these clans together.
What a wonderful short enjoyable read bringing in a new shifter clan to mix/join with the Black Mesa Wolves we love.
I liked both Abby and Quentin. Not much interaction with the Black Mesa Pack except for Maddy, Sean and Alpha Channing.

Absolutely Awesome Read, well written, great characters, Awesome story line, easy read to hold you on their journey, this genre might not be for everyone but its a really wonderful story cannot wait for more from this Author.

Love rereading these books so having them in a box set is great.

A great twist at the end sorted everything out. But I can imagine it was a shock for Mason.
4.25 - NEW YEAR WOLF
A lovely revisit to Caleb and Rielle. Caleb has put himself together and grown some since his big mistake. Having his mate with him is a part of that but the rest is him maturing.
He now works and trains young pack members to fight and is running a fight school.
If you are a fan of Black Mesa Wolves, this is a must read. I am not going to give the story away but I loved the ending.
This is one of my favourite short stories Ms Harper puts out for this series.
4.5 - PROTECTOR WOLF
Must catch up with this series.
Haven’t read a Black Mesa Wolf book for years, bought Guardian Wolf a long time ago. They just seemed to not be written for a while. I will be looking into catching up with them.
A good story but just did not understand Jace’s reluctance to claim his mate, it was not the fact she has two cubs as he adores them. We learnt a lot about Jace’s history and understood him but Caitlyn and her cubs background is never really explained, the cubs father is never explained.
I came away feeling like I had missed out on something, not sure if there is more information in the series. Caitlyn is Kieran’s sister after all so there may be more in his story about her.
Book had a few editing mistakes and Jace was called Jay at one point.
Other than these points a good read.
1 - GUARDIAN WOLF
A good short start to a new series.
My one big downer is I dislike the pack law that permeates this series. It is harsh, cruel and too old fashioned for my taste.
The heartache that Lily has suffered comes across and you cannot help but feel for her. It has taken two years for Lily to get over what she did and deal with the guilt and grief. I also really feel for the young man Lily accidently turned who is sentenced to death through no fault of his own. What is wrong with being a turned wolf as long as he pledges loyalty to the pack. The fact he didn’t/wouldn’t fight Lily spoke highly of his character.
Kieran was sent as a witness to see that pack law was upheld and saw Lily kill the young man. He knew then Lily was his mate but he has had to bid his time whilst Lily dealt with what she had done. Kieran is a real alpha wolf guardian and has known Lily was his since he first set eyes on her.
Once Lily decided to get back into life and reclaim her duty as a guardian wolf and have sex again Kieran made his move and claimed Lily, though Lily did some claiming of her own.
2 - ALPHA WOLF
I have read this book 3 times to see if it is my perception that is off.
This is my least favourite book in this series and the reason I didn’t read any more for ages but luckily I did come back to it and love the rest of the series.
We met Sara and Rafe in book 1 and you could feel the vibes around them then.
This started off so well and by the end I didn’t care if they ended up with a HEA or not.
Sara is a guardian wolf and for some strange reason she has lots of insecurities and believes she needs to prove herself to her pack. The pack treat her as a lightweight even if she is a guardian due to the fact she has been easy going, party girl, slutty Sara.
She then panics when Rafe makes his intentions of wanting her as his mate clear. She pushes him away but it is only human Sara who is unsure, her wolf has known for a year who her mate is. Not sure why human Sara is so thick. When she finds out Rafe is leaving to form his own pack she gets angry.
Sara was so indecisive and didn’t even know what she was on about every time she said she had to prove herself, sounded like a rehearsed speech. She was just a whiny child and proved her immaturity by casting all the blame on Rafe. She even goes to a bar to pick up some random guy rather than face the truth. I was getting dizzy with her dithering and self-centeredness.
Sara was queen of the ditherers, NOT an impressive alpha female to me, her behaviour put me right off her.
Rafe is the eldest Bardou son and has always know he was going to be a future Alpha and start his own pack under the umbrella of the Black Mesa Pack. Even though it has been decided where he is to go he cannot get started on that until Sara realises what she is to him and accepts she is his Alpha female.
Rafe was too soft on her, he should have been more open and stronger in his feelings and asked her flat out what she wanted and told her what he wanted.
Rafe should have done better than Sara as a mate but he has to take some of the blame for being too tame in his behaviour towards her. They are wolves and he is an alpha but didn’t act like one till the end when Caleb goaded him. Then he lets her back off again. Boring merry go round again.
Whilst on patrol with Sara, trouble happens and Sara finally sees the obvious. Sara kicks ass and all is great. HEA.
I was totally sick of these two by the end of this story.
I did really like Rafe’s wolf giving him grief for letting Sara run from them. That was funny but mating in a dirty back alley. Yuk.
3 - HUNTING A WOLF
What a great contrast. The biggest most hot headed, overprotective of all the guardians matched with mousy little Rielle, the pack historian.
A good honest fun read.
Caleb helps in bringing out Rielle’s wolf whom she had managed to suppress by moving away from the pack and by living life more as a human than a wolf. Rielle is a smart lady and softens Caleb’s tough aggressive take on life and helps him find balance
Caleb is really funny when he finds himself attracted to Rielle and when he realises she is his mate all his protective instincts go really haywire and get him into BIG trouble.
So sad Caleb being punished but he really deserved it, will be interesting to see how things go in the future for Caleb and Rielle.
Things are also getting very interesting with the background story of the rogues.
4 - WILD WOLF
What a really good interesting read this book was.
Tate is an easy go lucky type of man who is happiest working with his horses. He has no interest in finding his mate yet. Unfortunately for him he bumps into her and she walks away. He meets her again; Claire spends the night with him then leaves him.
Claire is a wild wolf with no pack affiliations at all, raised to be capable, independent and strong, whilst Tate is all about his pack which is his family.
Tate and Claire were a good match and I enjoyed their story but I was a bit annoyed at her attitude about the rogues. Tate knew more about them as he is a Guardian for the pack. Boy was Claire proven wrong.
Good story with a decent amount of tension and some baddies getting what they deserved.
4.25 - SOLSTICE WOLF
I felt a bit sad reading this one and could not see a resolution to their problems.
Lia with her dream to be a bigshot lawyer in the city and Conner with his big hearted but poor money management of his medical clinic
These two had forgotten what was important in their lives and needed to find the balance to be who they are meant to be.
I thought the resolution was a bit rushed and whilst Lia will find happiness returning to work as a small town lawyer, Connor still has to temper saying yes to every poor patient that comes in the clinic as the grant won’t last forever and they will be back in the same money trouble place they are now.
Hopefully they will find the balance they and their wolves need.
4.25 - CHRISTMAS WOLF
Lovely Christmas story.
Poor Ana pinning for her mate who cannot be her mate as he is human. She had to walk away from Mason for his safety.
Mason was all confused as Ana just dumped him with no explanation and he could not get interested in any other woman.

A wonderful story with two strong people coming together. Can be read as a standalone story.

Her friend has forced her out for a girls night to get her to pick someone for a night of fun but Lily is still reluctant. Until she sees Kieran he is a wolf and he is giving her the same look back that she is giving him. Kieran knows what Lily has went threw and has waited for her to come back so he could has his chance with her. But with the problem with the rogue derail his chance with her?

Sara is a guardian and she had a hot one night stand with Rafe who is set to be an Alpha of his own pack. Rafe knows that Sara is his mate he just hasn't been able to approach her about it yet. When his father mention to him about leaving and starting his own pack his knows that he won't leave without her. Sara isn't convinced she is worthy to be with Rafe as his mate and feels like she needs to prove herself even though everyone else feels like she's the perfect fit for him. The rogues gets more wild an attack when the pack least expects them to and Rafe and Sara are impacted. Will this derailed the starting of the new pack?

However the rogues end up playing yet another role in this match and Tate has to go to his alpha for help because his mate refuses to turn to his pack for help when she is a wild wolf. Will her wild wolf status become an issue for them?

Tanner stood in front of the burned down house. He asked his buddy, investigator-in-training, to come along and search for clues to the cause of the devastating fire. Both were wolf shifters and could find things that humans might miss. This was Tanner’s own private mission, to investigate fires that may have been set. But Russ was waiting for official orders first. Tanner’s chief had seen him remove his mask at the scene and was not happy at his not following protocol. As he walked away, Tanner made up his mind to resign and move on. He did not feel comfortable at this station and needed a change. Then he wandered over to the paramedic van to tell Jordyn of his decision.
Tonight he needed to release some energy and tension. He needed this fight. His opponent was Crazy Bear, well named, it seemed. Jordyn had come to watch and mentally sent him some of her strength in support. He won his fight, but the inner turmoil didn’t stop. He had seen himself as a loner from a young age after most of his pack was destroyed by rogue wolves; and had the restless urge to keep moving on, looking for something he couldn’t find. He felt he would not be good mate material for Jordyn. He just couldn’t get rid of his own demons enough to let him settle down. Would he ever stop punishing himself? Could he ever open up and let someone love him?
A large part of this story was watching Tanner struggle with his feelings. Part of him was restless and needed to avoid attachments, to keep moving around from place to place. And part of him knew where he was most comforted. His wolf tried to get through to him, as well as those around him. But he let his painful past alienate him from everything. He felt unworthy. Even his firefighter job was to save lives, to atone for a guilt he shouldn’t be taking on. If he leaves, he will lose his potential mate forever. Can he do that? Will he throw it all away? She calms him and makes things better. Can he accept that and give love a chance to heal him?
This story was a really good read. The storyline is strong and the interplay of the various characters begins to tell what kind of a person Tanner is. It is quite enlightening and an experience you won’t want to pass up. And you have 8 other great books to keep you entertained!

Tanner stood in front of the burned down house. He asked his buddy, investigator-in-training, to come along and search for clues to the cause of the devastating fire. Both were wolf shifters and could find things that humans might miss. This was Tanner’s own private mission, to investigate fires that may have been set. But Russ was waiting for official orders first. Tanner’s chief had seen him remove his mask at the scene and was not happy at his not following protocol. As he walked away, Tanner made up his mind to resign and move on. He did not feel comfortable at this station and needed a change. Then he wandered over to the paramedic van to tell Jordyn of his decision.
Tonight he needed to release some energy and tension. He needed this fight. His opponent was Crazy Bear, well named, it seemed. Jordyn had come to watch and mentally sent him some of her strength in support. He won his fight, but the inner turmoil didn’t stop. He had seen himself as a loner from a young age after most of his pack was destroyed by rogue wolves; and had the restless urge to keep moving on, looking for something he couldn’t find. He felt he would not be good mate material for Jordyn. He just couldn’t get rid of his own demons enough to let him settle down. Would he ever stop punishing himself? Could he ever open up and let someone love him?
A large part of this story was watching Tanner struggle with his feelings. Part of him was restless and needed to avoid attachments, to keep moving around from place to place. And part of him knew where he was most comforted. His wolf tried to get through to him, as well as those around him. But he let his painful past alienate him from everything. He felt unworthy. Even his firefighter job was to save lives, to atone for a guilt he shouldn’t be taking on. If he leaves, he will lose his potential mate forever. Can he do that? Will he throw it all away? She calms him and makes things better. Can he accept that and give love a chance to heal him?

Awesome story alpha wolf -Alpha rafe and beta Sara in the black mesa pack . Rage wants his mate but Sara thinks she has to prove something. Awesome story hunting wolf-Caleb is a wolf shifter with a temper and he is learning to control it . Arielle is the pack historian who lives with humans but when she dealing with Caleb her wolf side comes out. So cute and awsome wild wolf -This story is of Tate the youngest of the brothers and is a wolf shifter and horse whisper with a heart of gold. Meeting Claire has him trying to tame the Philly. This one was not my favorite but it's very cute.solstice wolf-Beautiful story of lisa a lawyer and Connor the black mesa doctor. This story shows that sometimes the heart really does know what's best. Christmas wolf- this is the story of omega anna lyall and her mate mason on Christmas and the Christmas secret miracle. Cute new year wolf - rielle and Caleb after losing his black mesa pack guardian status Caleb takes up cage fighting where he hopes to gain back his status and learn to control is wolf more. Cute protector wolf - is of have who is back in black mesa pack and he finds him self protective over Caitlin and her kids. Cute fire wolf- this story is of Tanner a firefighter and jordyn a EMT both have issues that they need to work on to be mates.cute. This was a long box set

This Box Set about the Black Mesa Wolf Pack includes books 1-6, plus a three short stories. J.K Harper brings you into this pack with great characters that are well rounded. Black Mesa Wolves Box Set by J. K. Harper is a set of nine different books of the series all put together into the perfect reading order in one group. The nine books included in this set are: Guardian Wolf, Alpha Wolf, Hunting Wolf, Wild Wolf, Solstice Wolf, Christmas Wolf, New Year Wolf, Protector Wolf, and Fire Wolf. Every one of the books in this set was a wonderful read. Each individual book features a different couple who were forever mate and all of the stories are tied together as members of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack. I think anyone who loves reading about shifters or paranormal romance will love this box set where everyone eventually gets their happy ever after endings. Black Mesa Wolves Box Set is a set great romantic reads!

This is a great series following one wold pack. Each story is a slight continuation of the previous book. I do suggest reading in order. The Black Mesa pack is run by one tough but fair alpha and his brilliant and beautiful mate. The pack is more modern than some packs and that brings in one specific pack that will be nothing but trouble and death. The other pack lives in the past and because of it it is infected with hate and cruelty. And then there are the rogue wolves. You can’t put them in one group. Some actually want to become their own pack and others just want to destroy and take what they want. So each story brings you parts of each of these elements as two people/shifters are drawn together. Finding your mate should be a happy time but it isn’t easy on the Black Mesa Wolves.

A great boxset watching a pack grow.
To many books to describe but each and everyone is a great read. Its so amazing to see these big bad wolfs ( both men and woman) come to heel when they are faced with their mate.!
To see the many directions that the pack go into and each book holds its own meaning. They made me stop and think of the message that is written in these stories. Whether its seeing someone as an equal giving them the respect that they deserve or learning from ones mistakes and growing from there.

I am a huge fan of boxsets. I'm that reader that hates waiting for the next book in the series. I tend to binge read. I had read Christmas Wolf a few years ago and Loved it! So far from this set I have finished Guardian Wolf, Alpha Wolf and Hunting wolf. I love that each book follows a different couple looking for their HEA. The stories are filled with action, magic and romance. They never feel repetitive either. The author has done an amazing job of showing the loyalty of the pack. If I were to pick a favorite right now, I'd have to go with Rafe and Sara. The strength of their emotions and the depth of love they shared was phenomenal. This is must have for all shifter lovers.

This is a great box set. It has multiple stories to keep you occupied and they’re not that long. So if you’re looking for something quick, steamy, and fun, this is it. I couldn’t stop though. I was addicted from the beginning and after finishing one I had to keep reading for the next story until I finished the whole set. I only wish all the stories had epilogues as I am a fan of those. But it didn’t take away from the stories themselves.

This is an entertaining paranormal box set with strong characters and exciting story lines. The author brings tons of action and heat and brings strong hunky shifters finding their mates and giving them a smokin' hot chemistry. She brings tons of emotions and draws you in with her descriptive writing and vividly painted scenes. Each book has their own hot couple with their own unique story to tell and I enjoyed them all. I would recommend this set.

The Black Mesa Wolves Boxed Set is a total of 6 full novels, each book with very individual characters, but what all have in common is a strong sense of loyalty and a willingness to put others before their own needs.
Each story features a strong couple finding to each other despite the problems they face, this way procuring lots of varied entertainment for the reader, while at the same time the series provides with some familiarity, as we meet some of the characters again. in other stories.

This is the story of the Black Mesa Wolf Pack and how they have to fight against Rogues as well as another pack from Canada that the Alpha has gone insane and believes he can become all the North American Wolves. Each story tells of the fight against these Rogue wolves as well as a couple finding their true mate. Each story can be read alone or all together. Each story has a HEA. I can't wait for more from this author.

Uneven series
Primarily about the adult children of the alpha of the Black Mesa pack as they find their mates. Lily's (only daughter) book was too short while Caleb (youngest brother) has a much longer story arc but I still think he got the shaft from his father. Stories of other pack members are mixed in as well. Last book is crossover with the Silvertip Shifters series which peaked my interest enough I'll probably read that series also. The shifters in this series are very sexual so plenty of heat from this author.

If you are looking for a well written, entertaining shifter box set look no farther. This set is full of hot sexy wolf shifters who find their fated mates and will do anything to win them. The stories are well written, enjoyable characters that you see grow and smoking hot chemistry. You are hooked right from the beginning to the very end. You will not be disappointed. A must read.

An entire series in on box set....better yet, it's a box set of one of Ms. Harper's best series. Loved it! Love the wolves! Please do not ask me to pick a favorite story because I don't think I can. The first 4 are individual stories that each tell a romance in an ongoing story of the pack and should be read in order. The next stories are within the pack but not necessarily part of the larger story but fit.

How can you go wrong with this BOX SET with 9 great books about the Black Mesa Wolf Pack. J.K HARPER gives you an incredible look into this wolf pack with hot steamy stories about charasmatic characters finding their fated mates and all the emotions that go with it. This box set includes books 1 thru 6, plus a couple of short stories. I am sure you will find these as engrossing as I did and I can't wait to add more of J.K HARPER's books to my library.

Amazing reading
I chose this series not realizing how great it would be. I absolutely love JK Harper and when I came across this I thought why not. As you move through these alpha wolves you laugh with them you cry with them and you cheer them on. And sometimes I even won a knock them upside the head. Over all an amazing read. Can't wait for the next one in the series because we all wanna know what Luke is up to

I thought that this was a very enjoyable collection of shifter reads. The story lines are various and fun, so you do not lose interest. The characters are complex and interesting. These books offer up plenty of heat, emotion, drama, excitement, action and danger. This is my frank, freely posted review.

The Black Mesa Wolves Boxed Set is a wonderful collection of 9 shifter stories that you don't want to miss. Excellent characters, wonderful storylines, with plenty of romance and off-the-charts chemistry. A must read for PNR fans!!!

This is a real Meh kind of book. I read book one, which was extremely short, and made it part way through book 2 before I got bored enough to move on. Not bad enough to get one star, but not worth continuing.
Disappointing, because I liked the author's Dragon Mates series. Maybe this is some earlier work?
