I enjoyed the story of Ryder and Ashlyn very much. Majorly steamy hot couple. I wasn’t so interested in Becca and Jaycent. They just didn’t grab me the same way. The book/books were great, really kept me captivated. Up until the whole Rosie and Jaycents dad with Ryder and Beccas mom = Maggie. I don’t even know if I said that right, I thought that whole bit was insanely confusing. It made no sense to me. I think the book should have ended after the Seattle trip, nice and tidy.

Selfish is a passionate tale that takes us into the lives of two main characters. They are both selfish, but each in their own ways. This is a story of a one night stand that in time slowly develops into something more, only to implode and leave us hanging in the end.
Ashlyn and her best friend Becca are in Florida for vacation before their big move to New York. Five days relaxing on the beach should be perfect. That is, until she finds out Becca's jerk of a boyfriend will be tagging along. After a night of drinking tequila, Ashlyn finds herself in the bed of a sexy hot stranger. He knows the rule. Selfish is a refreshing, well written and addicting story. The characterization is spot on with an incredible group of characters who are unique, feisty, sassy and intriguing. And the plot sweeps you away into a push and pull story-line filled with tension, chemistry, friendship, heartbreak and romance.

Ashlyn and her friend Becca plan a girls trip away but Connor Becca’s boyfriend tags along at the last minute. Ash has a one night stand with a man, she’s happy in the knowledge that she won’t see him again. When circumstances bring Ryder back into her life it leaves her conflicted.
Ash has some hangups when it comes to relationships she sees herself as unworthy of Ryder. I liked Ash she’s ballsy, fun loud and opinionated and speaks her mind. Ryder is a confident successful man who loves playing the field.

Although Ash and Ryder are in this book we get to learn more about Becca and Jaycent.
Becca is vulnerable her ex Connor has eroded her confidence and self esteem. Her parents are horrible people one is pushy the other is dismissive. She has a small circle of people she trusts, her brother, Ashlyn and at one time Jaycent.
I liked watching Becca grow in confidence throughly this story, Jaycent was so patient and good for her. I’m not going to lie the ending totally gutted me.

Hold the press! This series was so freaking unbelievably great. I couldn't stop turning the pages. But be warned every book ends with a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. So you won’t be able to stop once you start. Ryder is a rich, kinky, sexy man who knows what he wants. Ashlyn is moving from Seattle to New York with her best friend. She has no intentions of keeping a man longer than a night. So when she meets Ryder on vacation one night couldn't look more more fun. But the next day Ashlyn finds out he will be around longer that one night. The one night rule is harder and harder to not break.
Then there is Becca and Jaycent.
Talk about whoa! Their book was great. They are the perfect couple. Given Becca is not very self confident because of the people that have been in her life so far have tore her down. Then comes Jayce he loves her and she's been in love with him since she was 11. But because of the lies they have been kept apart. Then there is the douche canoe, Becca has put up with him for way to long. Ugh! The Ending was so great. I laughed so hard and couldn’t wait for more.
Oh wow I'm in total love!!! I love all of these characters. Ryder is a god!! You will not be more happy to start reading this series.

Words cannot describe how much I love this series! Shantel is seriously becoming my most favorite author. I can't stop reading her books.
Ryder and Ashlyn. These two are seriously meant to be. I love how they interact with each other, even though they are still struggling when it comes to their relationship. I freaking hate Ryder's and Becca's mom!!! I wanted to throat punch here throughout this whole series!!! I love how Shantel also brought it Seven Deadly Sins club, and some of the characters. That was a very nice surprise

Ashlyn and Ryder were only supposed to have one night but when he turns out to be her best friends brother!!
Becca and Jacyent get reunited after 4 years but will they finally be able to be together?
Throw in a A-hole ex, supposed best friend, an obsessive girl, a dad trying to do his best and a phsyco mother and you have a great series!!
So glad I read this as a series and didn't have to wait on the next book lol( love to hate a cliffy)

I absolutely loved reading this series of 3 books!! Between Ryder and Ashlyn's story and Becca and Jaycent's! I was absolutely hooked!!! This was one of my favorite series to read and I definitely recommend it!! The chemistry between the couples is HOTTT!!! I literally couldn't book this book down once I started to read it!!

Selfish: 4.5 Stars
Holy hotness!!!!! This book was packed with sexy, lust filled, epic bedroom scenes (and public ones too). The spark between Ashlyn and Ryder was insane! Both were only looking for a good time but ended up falling so much harder than they’d ever allowed themselves. But can it last? When an old flame enters the picture, everything falls apart between these two and you’re left feeling like you were part of the breakup!
Dare I say maybe there was too much sex in this book? It was like every time Ashlyn and Ryder were in each other’s presence, it ended in banging! Became a little repetitive and expected, but it was always smoldering!
I loved the friendship between Ashlyn and Becca. You could just tell from their interactions that they were sisters by choice. I loved the strength that Ashlyn brought to the table and her free spirit. She was always so positive and sure of herself. It was impossible not to love her character.
Ryder was smart, successful, loyal, hard working, sexy and persistent. He knew what he wanted and he took it. And he wanted more Ashlyn. His feelings developed over the course of the book and I loved seeing his vulnerable side. Every drop of a pet name, every sweet kiss, just made me swoon that much harder.
The ending left me feeling depressed! I didn’t want to see these two fall apart over a misunderstanding. I hope the future books in the series continue A & R’s story!

I loved this story from the perspective of Becca and Jaycent! The overlapping of the story line from book 1 helped provide an entirely different point of view for many of the dramatic scenes.
The relationship between these two characters was incredible. The forbidden aspect of it due to a large age gap, brother's best friend, already in a relationship... all of those things made this crashing of hearts that much more exhilarating! Everything was stacked against them, yet somehow they found a way not once but three times!
My heart broke for Becca and what her mother put her through. What her boyfriend of multiple years put her through. There is only so much that one woman can take and B not only faced it head on, she rose up and came out on the other side a stronger woman than ever. I was so proud of her character in this book. She finally stood up for herself and took what she wanted. Jaycent!
This couple made me swoon like you wouldn't believe. I was rooting for their love from the beginning! I loved the outcome the author gave these two and can't wait to see more of them in book 3.

I wanted to scream at every single character in this book on numerous occasions! There was so much betrayal, lying, manipulation, back stabbing drama! It just kept going and going. But above all that there was undeniable love and friendship and trust. It seemed like Ashlyn and Ryder had to hit rock bottom before they could both see how they clearly felt for one another and admit it not only to themselves but to each other.
This read had so many twists and turns and sudden impacts! My head was spinning from one chapter to the next!
Parts of this book seemed a little abrupt or short for how dramatic the scene or exchange was. But overall this read was addiction and I couldn't put it down! I was so invested in all 4 of the main characters and their successes and failures. I absolutely loved the twist at the end and how it shaped the last few chapters of the book. The ending was nothing short of amazing and brought a huge smile to my face. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome for Ashlyn, Ryder, Becca and Jaycent.

Great start to a new series. Shantel's writing is good. I've loved her other books. So when this came out I was supper excited.

You want to be selfish in love. That's the way true love should be. I found Ashlyn to be just the right amount of selfishness for me. After graduating college a vacation was in order. She was due. She meets up with this great guy for one night and comes to find out he's her roommates brother Ryder. She's had a friends with benefits relationship for years with her best friend Bradley for years. That's coming to an end because she's moving to New York now that she's graduated. It's not anyways best to start things where you live. Ryder wants to start up a relationship. She's hesitant. I love them together. She's motivated, kind, spunky and also kickass. The storyline moves at just the right pace for me. It gives us day to day for a few weeks. Ryder is motivated and focused on his work. Along comes Ashlyn and he is feeling things that haven't been there ever but feel right. He wants to move forward. She's hesitant because she doesn't feel like she belongs in his world. It's a great start of a love story. I'm not one for cliffhangers. This book does have one. That a down for me. Otherwise I am super excited for the next book . I think I read to soon. Spoiler**** This book has no cheating in it*** The roommate Becca and best friend are small but good characters too. Enjoy!

Wow... where to start. That was a great book. I picked it up and just read it right through. Kept saying ok just one more chapter and I can stop. Next thing I know hours have passed and the book is done. Shantel has such a great way with writing her books. I love how this one intersected with Selfish. It was awesome. You don't need to read that to read this but it will definitely make this book more enjoyable. I loved reading about Becca and Jaycent. You get hints about them in Selfish and I hoped they would have their own book. Becca has loved Jaycent since she was a young girl. He is 7 years older than her. Jaycent has watched over Becca since she was a young girl but felt he couldn't act because of her age and when he could circumstances kept them apart. He is just what Becca needs in her life. Connor is Becca's jerk of a boyfriend. He treats her awful and she takes it as punishment for something. It's a secret she doesn't share with even her best friend. This story unravels so quick and keeps you on your toes. We get a glimpse of Ryder and Ashlyn in this book. That was fun to read. I look forward to the next book to see what becomes of them considering this book focused on Becca and Jaycent. Enjoy!

I guess it could be a stand alone because it does give enough background to understand but seriously read them ALL!!! The ups and downs they have faced. The heartbreak and true love. It makes you want a Ryder in your life. My only wish is this series would never end. I could read about them for a long time. The whole group of them. I read this book voluntarily fir an honest review. Hope you love it as much as I did. Enjoy!

Seriously seriously wth?? It's a cliffy & ur going to want the next book now if u love Shantel Tessier's books like I do!!
Great angsty story about Ryder & Ashlyn. The meet as strangers then after a sexy 1 night stand, he is actually her best friend's brother!!! Crazy!!! Then she moves with her bestie which just so happens to be near Ryder. Ashlyn doesn't give her heart to anyone, she is more of a have fun one day eventually I'll fine my Romeo. Ryder is a completely c*ck¥ sexy man wh•re who is just about having fun. Mix in the sexy hot chemistry between them & u get lots of sparks!!

Within the first 3 chapters you get knocked over, then your left trying to pull yourself back up just to see what is going to happen next. The next thing you know your reading along and bam, wait.....what just happened. Then your going back to re-read the last sentence/paragraph like what the heck??? OMG this book was so jaw dropping that as you get towards the end of the book your saying wait wait no there has to be more.... I have a complete & udder book hangover. I always want more when her books end, can't get enough of this author! I don't ever want to give away spoilers when writing a review, so if you take away 1 thing from my review take with you this next sentence. This is a book full lust, love, mistakes, lies, bone chilling honesty, add in some angst with a dash of sexy, hot alphas.

The final book in this series & wow what a way to wrap it up!! Ryder was sweet, swoony & dirty talked you into falling for his charms as he is making Ashlyn his. When you begin their story Ryder is a cocky manwhore who hasn't & doesn't want anything more, he is happy with how life is. This book shows what happens after people jump to conclusions. This book truly reminds u of the age old saying u don't know what you have until it's gone. I love Ashlyn's character, she is strong & passionate. Her strength shows when she realizes she has sulked enough over this break up. Ryder seems to lose himself for a while, but that is perfect for how c*ck¥ he is in the 1st book. When they both begin to fight for each other, it's almost like when it rains it pours, because if someone or something is going to go wrong it happens to them. The story of their ending or beginning, is amazingly written. The way they work through & put the work into their relationship, they find themselves being able to deal with everything around them. Ashlyn is strong, but stronger with & for Ryder. This story will make u smile, laugh & cry. It was an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to end. Be prepared to fall in love with the book & the author.

The final book in this series & wow what a way to wrap it up!! Ryder was sweet, swoony & dirty talked you into falling for his charms as he is making Ashlyn his. When you begin their story Ryder is a cocky manwhore who hasn't & doesn't want anything more, he is happy with how life is. This book shows what happens after people jump to conclusions. This book truly reminds u of the age old saying u don't know what you have until it's gone. I love Ashlyn's character, she is strong & passionate. Her strength shows when she realizes she has sulked enough over this break up. Ryder seems to lose himself for a while, but that is perfect for how c*ck¥ he is in the 1st book. When they both begin to fight for each other, it's almost like when it rains it pours, because if someone or something is going to go wrong it happens to them. The story of their ending or beginning, is amazingly written. The way they work through & put the work into their relationship, they find themselves being able to deal with everything around them. Ashlyn is strong, but stronger with & for Ryder. This story will make u smile, laugh & cry. It was an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to end. First, I loved these two meeting up in Panama City Beach. I love PCB!! We had just returned home from vacation there when I read Selfish. I reeeeallly loved how the roles are reversed. Ashlyn is the independent one just looking for a good time. Ryder is the "sweet" one who wants a lot more than one night with Ashlyn. Throw in a best friend/booty call from back home and you have a cliffhanger that will leave you jonesing for the next book.

We now have Becca and Jaycent's story as well as an outsider's view of Ashlyn and Ryder's relationship (Selfish, book 1).
Becca has lived an emotional nightmare for the past 4 years, but Jaycent is determined to free her from that life, especially now that he knows who has been pulling the strings. Yep, didn't see that coming!
I was so excited to see Becca open up and become vocal and confident. Of course Jaycent was supporting her the whole way…swoon!!

I received a copy of Selfish in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
Ashlyn is spending five whole days on the beach with her best friend before they make the move from Seattle to New York. She wasn't suppose to meet a man who would make her change the way she saw love and sex. She has always believed you can have one without the other. A one night stand on vacation wasn't suppose to lead to the guy standing in her hotel room hours later proclaiming to be my best friends brother Ryder. He had not seen his sister in four years. He thought going to the beach to surprise her was a great idea. But he ended up getting a woman who knew exactly what she wanted. For that one night he was it but he wanted more. You don't spend the night with someone like Ashlyn and let her walk away so easily.
Selfish is the first book in the Selfish Series from Shantel Tessier. This is the story of Ashlyn and Ryder and I loved both of these characters. What better way to kick off a major life change than by taking a trip with your best friend. And Becca is Ashlyn's best friend. This story made me laugh, angry, turned on and then I wanted to scream because it ended. Ashlynn and Ryder were the same individual in this book. They both didn't do serious but one night just wasn't enough for either one of them. That one night sets them on a course of lust filled nights and dates. I didn't understand Ashlynn at first she didn't grow on me until the last chapter because she was a coward and in denial throughout the whole book. Ryder even though he never had a serious relationship he was willing to try for Ashlynn because he saw something and he loved her fire. I thought she would have loved to be with because I would have but somethings you lose when you keep pushing it away. I can't wait to read the next installment in their story. They kept me interested and I love when the characters and plot come together so well. It definitely gave me an insight into the mind of a kind of woman I have never met someone who has too much pride and lets her stubbornness and social status dictate her life.
*The whole series is worth the read because you get to learn about Ryder's sister and best friend. All the while the characters are trying to find out ways to fix their lives. Great series you will not want to put it down. *

I thought it was very slow to get started, but once it did I enjoyed Ryder and Ashlyn. I didn’t care for her hot/cold attitude in the beginning, and when she finally started to understand him I was ready to scream hallelujah! She has this thinking that falling in love is a tragedy. ☺️ I wanted to cry for Ryder and Bradley. They are both in love with her, and it ends with a cliffhanger so... you have to keep reading.

I loved Becca and Jaycent! They were in love for years before they got their chance. I really love the change in her father too. I think he was really thinking of what he has missed all this time with his kids too. Her mother is just plain awful. I hope Connor never shows back up. 4.5 stars! I really enjoyed this hot and steamy storyline. These characters try to keep it uncomplicated and of course feelings happen that complicate everything! I was broken hearted at the end and left speechless by the cliffy...can't wait for the next one!

Holy freaking cow! I floved this book! Becca and Jaycent...Eek! This storyline is so dang good! All the things, it has all the things! So thoroughly entrenched in my reading with this one, my kids were ignored, my house is a mess, and I don't even care. It has drama, a bit of angst, HOT sexy times, and loads of humor! The best thing about this box set is that you don't have to wait between books for the next to release. I hate waiting.
This is a great series and each of the three stories builds on the one(s) before. Ryder is Becca's older brother and Jaycent is his best friend. Ashlyn is Becca's college roommate and BFF. Ryder and Becca's mother puts Cinderella's stepmother to shame. Becca's faux boyfriend, Connor, deserves way worse than the beating he gets. Yup, their lives become irrevocably intertwined after Ashlyn and Ryder meet on the beach during their mutual vacations and have the one night stand that wasn't (one night). Becca and Jaycent's unrequited love needs to be fully satisfied without one of them otherwise involved.
These stories are all well written, the characters have many dimensions, some positive, others not, and you become fully invested in their saga which is filled with love, heat, angst and even some laughs. Once you start reading this trilogy, you're not going to want to stop. And you won't have to since it's all included in this one book. So ENJOY it! I did.

Love Ryder. He is a man of many talents. He isn't afraid to tell you what he's feeling. Ashlyn is a woman who isn't sure what to do with her feelings. She has a hard time seeing what she really wants. She is afraid it won't last. Hey make for one hot couple. Can't wait to read the next book. A must read.

Selfish is a 3 book series. This series is one of my top picks. Ashlyn and Ryder met on a beach during vacation and had a hot n crazy one night stand that ended up being so much more. There was a lot of drama going on between them Vicky tried to get between them, Bradley even caused some issues. Will they be able to get back on track? Even though it's only been a few weeks of them being together, can the love they have for eachother overcome everything thrown at them? Then there is also Becca and Jayden with their history and what they are up to now. This was such a great series and I know this will be one I will read more then once!

Shantel Tessier had me so invested in these characters from the very first book Selfish, then again in Myself to the conclusion of Selfless. This series is filled with so many emotions; compassion/misery, joy/laughter, anger/displeasure, passion/desire. Shantel had me feeling what each character felt. I wanted to reach out and give hugs, wipe away tears, put some people in their place and punch others in the nose! I was sad to see this series end. In this 3rd and final book, Selfless, there are many twists and turns that keeps you turning that page until the very last one. I can truly say that this is one heartfelt story. I highly recommend this series!

I loved this series. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. It had me laughing, wanting to punch someone, a few tears in my eye, and heartbroken. I don't know how many times I ended up screaming at my kindle for these characters to get their heads out of their butts, but it was a lot!! Ashlyn and Ryder are amazing together, but are they meant to be? Then we have Becca and Jaycent... those two are destined to be together after everything that they found out.
I don't want to go into too many details and give away the entire book. Just take my word for it and pick this read up!! Well Worth it!!!

Omg! This series had me laughing and in tears and anger. You have this couple who wanted only one night stand but at the end of it lol, they wanted more. You have Ryder who wanted more with ashlyn and she just wasn’t sure. She denied so much!! But the drama you get out of it well, it’s well written. Then you have Jaycent and Becca which finally get there second chance at this one more time but there still unsure. It’s all there for them.
Shantel Tessiers books are something else. When she writes a new book, I always make sure to buy it. She’s a one click! Trust me when I say this you will want to have this set and read it!!!!

I loved this whole series!
Selfish is book 1 in the Selfish series. It was is an awesome best friends brother story. I devoured it from beginning to end. It was well written and just so good. I liked the characters Ashlyn and Ryder. They were amazing and so perfect for eachother. Shantel Tessier is one of my go to authors and she just keeps getting better with each book she writes. I really enjoy her stories and Selfish is one of my favorite for 2016.

This was such a fantastic series! What better way to all the stories than this box set. No waiting for the next book to come out. Yay! The couples, Ashlyn & Ryder and Becca & Jaycent are wonderful. I loved the chemistry both couples had. Their stories had my emotions all over the place and I liked it. I would definitely recommend reading this series.

Love at first sight? More like lust at first sight. Ryland and Ashynn's story is not a fairytale at first. In the beginning they thought they were just 2 strangers meeting on vacation. But this turned out to be a story with lies and betrayal from Bradley, Ashlynn's best friend and Vickie, someone that wants Ryland at all cost. It's as epic as romeo and juliet but without the tragic ending. You also get to see Becca and Jaycent's love story unfold.

Now see this is how I like a trilogy to be - 3 books in the same timeline with the same people just different povs - where one book ends the other picks up where the other left off and continues the story filling in the blanks from the other story etc. this series continued to get better and it ended perfectly

Enjoyable read
I enjoyed the first and third book in this set. I didn’t care too much for the second book, I kept skipping Beccas POV because I felt like slapping her more than comforting her, but all in all great love stories. I loved all the little twists in the story.

I LOVED IT! I was so worried when Ashlyn and Ryder broke up that they wouldn't get back together. Then at the end when the doctor said "we did everything we could", my heart SANK! This isn't your typical love story, but I couldn't put it down!

The series was good, can't say it's my favorite of all of Shantel's books tho. Plot was decent, some spice, a few surprises thrown in the mix. The three books focus on two couples and their journey of becoming couples.

Love this series :) The chemistry with these couples is amazing and I loved the drama in it. Shantel is an amazing author and always leaves me wanting more!!
