I enjoyed reading this series. The characters are unique. This is a great story for those who have the imagination, as you need when reading any SIFI book.

Total Score: 5/5

Summary:
This is an incredible Saga as Habraum, leader of the Star Brigade, is tasked to rebuild a team that was decimated by their own government that was determined to take the Brigade down until they were once again needed. Habraum was still dealing with his past failure when he lost his team, but even with that failure he gained a new ally to help him rebuild. This saga is filled with action, out of this world intense situations that place the characters in seemingly impossible situations as they learn to trust and depend on each other. There are many individuals who would like nothing more than to see them fail while outside forces are willing to go to any lengths to destroy not only the Star Brigade, but anyone who stands in their way. This is an incredible series made only better because it can be read with all the side stories together to add to the readers enjoyment.

Welcome to a new universe that held me spellbound from the very start. The depth and intricacy reminds me of series like The Lensman series and it is not over yet. I will be waiting for the next book in the series.

Woot! Woot! for 'pew-pew' - Star Brigade wins again!

Take a stable of disciplined superheroes, locate them in a far-future galaxy filled with more political and military machinations than that long-ago Star Wars Empire, and then hand-pick and deploy them on various away-team missions of stealth, reconnaissance, and diplomacy - which frequently morph into planet-side firefights, daring dogfights in space, hair-raising rescues, and detours through time-and-space-warping environments. Have them confront conspiracy, greed, genocide, specie-ist hate groups, and psionically gifted opponents - and then, for kicks, throw in a giant pink space slug or two. On their downtime, engage them in the kind of Star Trek crew interpersonal relationships and conflicts that flesh out superhero stereotypes into distinctively three-dimensional thinking, feeling beings. Stir in vivid depictions of non-human characteristics and appearance, then throw in cinematically detailed descriptions of fantastic alien environments. Turn the dramatic tension up near the breaking point, and that gives you some of the flavor of C.C. Ekeke's Star Brigade: Quartet. These four books immerse the reader in a most improbable but fascinating SF universe filled with drama, angst, suspense, and humor. Hard science isn't the point here - it's all about the action. Ekeke's limitless imagination creates the kind of escapist adventure SF that keeps you mesmerized from the first page, and begging for more at the last. I've read and voluntarily reviewed each of these books as ARCs and have kept the files so I can re-read them - they are that good! So, go on and grab this brilliant boxed set and live your wildest space fantasies.

A difficult review.

This is the kind of book or series that I hate to review! The editing and proofreading seems to be non existent. The grammar is often atrocious, incorrect word usage is rampant and badly constructed sentences leave the reader wondering just what the author is trying to say. It definitely seems to be targeted at the YA readership but that is no excuse for sloppiness. At times the story drifts into juvenile territory while at others it tackles adult themes.
On the other hand, the story was interesting but I feel that it lost it towards the end. I would not have been at all happy if I had read the first book, got to the end and realised that I had to get another three books! Another good thing about this collection is the addition of back stories that explain events found in the books. I think that many readers will find the last short story outlining the events of Beridaas interesting although I, personally, found both teams guilty of hubris. These guys are supposed to be just short of supermen and while they are still just people (or beings), you'd expect them to be better trained than they are. The commanders seem to be lacking in strategy and tactics training. The aftermath holds a few surprises which are interesting. Definitely a worthwhile addition to the four main books.
As I said, a difficult review insofar as a star rating goes. Weighing it all up I don't think that it would be fair to give it less than three stars but the poor editing and proofreading don't justify a higher rating so three stars it is!

Good read complex story

A complex storyline with multiple stories interesting technique of having short novellas on the outside of the main books to explain sometime mines and some story lines that petered out in the book themselves interesting change in direction of man versus monsters in this case it's man and monsters versus really bad bun source getting a bit tired of chiseled men and curvy ton't and women might be interesting for somebody to talk about ordinary people doing extraordinary things but other than that it was certainly worth the and I stopped a lot of what I was doing to do so

To help or not ?

This book set reads fairly well as an action based series. The characters are flushed and well thought out. The description of the many different types of beings are quite thoughtful as are the landscapes of the planets and space installations. Heroes and villains abound in their battles for good and against evil as they pit themselves against one another. You can foresee some of the forthcoming confrontations and surprised at others. Enjoyable read I believe that you'll like it.

CC ekeke delivers a rip roaring adventure set in the far future with "superhero" characters ,evil mindblowing aliens, a bit of will they won't they romance, children and teens all thrown in.
It sounds like it won't work but CC Ekeke wraps all of these elements together in a way that really gels.
It is the kind of novel that as you finish one book you want to start the next immediately and with this box set you can!
Buy it now and sit down read and enjoy, you will be glad you did.

Most boring book I have read yet.
2% action - 98% talking, and discussing their clothing. I don't care what they wear after the first time. Even details about what his kid is wearing.
And everyone has 5 names.
First, last, both, species, and team name. And they are all used at the same time. What a joke.
And the books are in English, but Chinese measurments of time, distance. And all the made up language is annoying.
Never will read another book by CC Ekeke.

Interesting Series

This series was a little bit of work, plus pleasure. It was hard going at first, because of so many characters, with their real names, code names, and the planets they are from. By the fourth book, however, I was well into the story, and enjoying it very much. I think you will enjoy it too, so give it a try.

Superb sci-fi meets comic universe!

Very entertaining and with excellent characters. The good, the bad and the ugly side of those who are the heroes and heroines. When you can respect a character while hating their choices in their personal lives, you know the author did his job!
