This was an excellent follow-up to Omega Shelter. I really liked it and enjoyed getting to see some of the characters from that book again. I particularly liked Zeke especially as he was someone who though he didn't realize it had a lot of strength inside him. All in all this was a good short read and I will be reading the next book in the series for sure!

Devon and Zeke

Great short read. It had such engaging main characters and a good plot.

Devon's father is killed by the alpha from an other pack. His grandfather wants revenge.
While searching for that other pack Devon meets his true mate Zeke and understands he is a member of the enemy pack. Zeke is convinced he will never find his true mate
Faith is nothing without confidence... and Devon is so much wiser than his grandfather.
When Devon understands the fact how his grandfather has planned his revenge .. he makes the biggest decision of his life.

A very nice read with a lot in it. There are two packs in direct opposition.

My heart always beats faster when there are true mates involved. That concept is for me a decisive to success and it succeeded here. Devon and Zeke had sweet personalities. There are others who I despised. The hurt they bring was harsh.
Love, hate, envy, compassion and destiny are all in this story. Written in a compelling way, fast pace and very consuming.

WOAH! This short story is dreadful! With a juvenile style of writing and boring characters: Avoid at all cost. And speaking of cost, the price for this word count is appallingly high.
I do not recommend this.

A little better.

3.75 stars

More character analysis and better world development. This book felt more complete than book one.

I really loved how the Omega was not your typical slender Omega. Zeke had a little extra padding and his true mate loved him no matter what he looked like. Devon was an Alpha who was happy to be behind the scenes but went push came to shove he did what an Alpha had to do to take care of their mate.

The only part that I didn't care for was when Donovan, Mark and Gale decided to tell another Alpha that he couldn't take his True Mate back home with him. That I felt should have been done in a different way.

I’m still a relative newbie to Mpreg stories, and only started dipping my toe, so to speak, in this trope from October last year. I keep questioning what took me so long *face palms* I absolutely love it.

Added to which, this is also my first Quinn Michaels’ read, and I was not disappointed. As a reader, I want to be swept away and consumed by a story. I want to inhabit the characters’ world for the time that I’m there. And, I can honestly say I did that with Devon and Zeke’s story.

As an Alpha in the Blackcreek pack, Devon has not had an easy life. His pack has been ruled by an iron fist, and sheltered from the outside world. Breaking rules has severe consequences, and enemies dealt with swiftly by their own brand of justice *shudders* Deep down Devon questions all he has known, but when he stumbles upon Zeke he’ll have to decide whether or not to make a stand for what he truly believes is right.

Zeke is one of those sweet unassuming characters that you just want to hug. A bit self-conscious, and unsure of his place in the pack, his world is thrown upside down when he meets Devon. This Omega proves he has more mettle than others, even himself, would give him credit for.

Omega Sacrifice is a quick, action-packed (my tongue is totally in my cheek right now *winks*), satisfying read *snorts* Whaaa? I just can’t help myself *shrugs*

But seriously, I think lovers of Mpreg stories with enjoy a return to Pine Lake, and the wolves who call this land home.

What are You Willing to Give Up for Love?

The second book of the Pine Creek Lake Den series was entertaining. The Alpha / Omega pull - dynamic was one of the driving forces. The other was revenge. Still another was consolidating power - seizing it. The stronger overcoming - subjugating the weaker. In the Blackcreek Pack the old rules of Alpha domination prevailed. This was the old pack that the Omega in the First Book had run away from - despite the certainty of both an impending bad storm and the eminent birth of his child. The viciousness of the abuse he suffered compelled him to RUN!! Fortunately right into the arms of his true mate a Pine Creek Lake Den Alpha.

This book spotlights the pack - Blackcreek & their cruel leader and his evil minions; mostly family members with one exception the grandson. His father had been the abusive Alpha that tracked his tormented Omega to Pine Creek Lake Den. He had always seen as not malicious enough - he'd rather negotiate than maim and murder. Definitely not an appreciated asset among the Blackcreek Pack members.

The reader is introduced to a very unusual Omega in the Pine Creek Lake Den pack. He is sad, depressed, and feels he'll never find a mate. He is kind of a misfit among the other Omegas. Where they are lithe, light on their feet, and really enjoy running as their Wolves, this Omega has a more rubenesque shape, could be clumsy, and got out of breathe quickly even after a short run. He also had a chronic health problem - something most Wolves never experience. . He is a mess, he knew it and so did everyone else, even his now former best friend.

If there wasn't for bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. Why was he the one out in the woods when the Blackcreek Pack members were plotting their sneak attack? Why had he frozen when spotted? Why didn't he sound the alarm? Why was that Alpha looking at him in such a curious manner? And why did he smell so delicious?

This was another action packed though longer story by Quinn Michaels. The nearly doubled locations made the character development even more indepth. There was so much tension, fear, stealthiness, meanness, and self doubt / consciousness. Two atypical pack members within their own packs find each other. But the chances of them having a HEA is slim to none. Explosives, Alpha challenges, threats, tracking, hiding, near death experiences, planning a massacre. Fight or Flight? Protecting one's mate or pack members / family? Very hard choices.

I am certainly looking forward to more books in this series. That author keeps you engaged because you don't know what will happen next. Always so very likeable if a bit quirky characters as well as some cruel villains. Quinn Michaels shows how different packs and family dynamics can be.

This was a good quick read. I did not read the first book in this series but this book can be read as a stand alone so that made it is easy to figure out what was going on.

Devon is from a pack that believes in treating Omegas like everyone else. They treat omegas like they are only useful when they are in heat. Any other time they are left alone with other omegas. They are not cherished and treated like a normal human being.

Though all of this goes on within his pack, Devon wishes he could meet his true mate. Someone he could cherish and treat as they are as special as they truly are. Even though he wants all this, there is bigger problems for him to have to deal with. Namely his new Alpha, his grandfather wanting revenge on a neighboring pack that he believes is responsible for his son, Devon’s father and the former pack leader.

With a plan set in motion by the new alpha, Devon is basically along for the ride. Though he knows this is a bad decision, he knows he cannot go against the alpha. Or so he thinks anyway.

On patrol of the neighboring pack territory, Devon runs into an omega named Zeke. Even more surprising is Zeke turns out to be his fated mate. Now with this new complication, Devon is going to have to decide between the pack that has always been his family and his fated mate.

Can these two men work together to figure out a plan to bring these two packs together? Or will one or both of them end up with more problems then answers?

This was a good read. I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but a lot went on in this book. Tha is what I liked. It is not only a shifter book but it was packed full of action/adventure. Amazing read!!!

Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review

~ 3.5 Stars ~

In a lot of ways, after reading Omega’s Shelter, I was unsure about reading this book, as the first seemed a bit short and focused on the true mates aspect, leaving out a strong plot. On a whim, I picked the second up and was glad to do so, as it left me more satisfied. Growing from the simpler plot of the first book, this sequel proves to be a stronger plot and theme. The characters are deeper and the story taking better shape.

Devon’s desire for revenge is tempered by his merciful nature, something that he is looked down on for by his grandfather and cousin. Yet as the son of the murdered alpha, he is allowed to join the war party that is looking for revenge. We can see so much of his upbringing and how he was taught, influencing him at the start in how he thinks of Pine Creek when scouting it the night before his grandfather will go to challenge his son’s murderer.

But this changes when he stumbles on to his true mate, Zeke, and is forced to kidnap him to save Zeke from his cousin. Through conversation with Zeke, Devon is forced to look at himself and his beliefs. Writing this review, it seems odd that so many changes and character developments took place in a single night, yet as you read them, it seems so natural and flows wonderfully.

Zeke’s strength and beliefs in himself and what he feels is right truly helps Devon to see the weaknesses in his pack and how they are being reinforced by his grandfather. The challenges they face are both external and internal, and I loved how the author didn’t let either ball drop whilst focusing on the opposite. This book redeemed the series for me, and I look forward to reading the next.

Devon accompanies his grandfather, Angus, the Blackcreek pack Alpha to the lands of the Pine Creek pack. An alpha in that pack killed his father and kidnapped his father's omega. Devon is there for justice but it looks like his grandfather is there for revenge. Following his grandfather's orders, Devon is forced to question everything he knows, especially after he finds his mate.

Zeke is forced to re-evaluate his life when he sees the love of his life kissing another. Life without a mate will be lonely and is he sure there is no one out there for him. Then he meets a strange alpha sneaking around in the night. He knows he is his mate but can he find a life with someone who lives with such a violent and restricted pack?

The action is non-stop in this one. These two meet under less than desirable circumstances. They want more, but first Devon has to deal with his grandfather and Zeke does not want to leave his friendly and comfortable pack for one that is not. They had so much to work out and it was not easy. Hop on for the ride and watch as these two do the right thing which is not always the easy thing. Kudos to Devon and Zeke for working so hard.

This is the second installment of this series and even though it is a standalone, the events occurred in the first book (Omega Shelter) greatly influence the storyline, so I would suggest reading the story of Gale and Mark before. Also, in this case, the instinctual instalust arising between the two men at their first meeting is the basis of the relationship between Zeke and Devon, so do not expect flirting and nice words; on the contrary, these two have to struggle to accept their mating bond given the pending war between their two packs. This book is fastpaced, Zeke is no ordinary omega, strong beyond his own knowledge, and Devon is defying all the stereotypes of the strong domineering alpha showing much more feelings and apparent weaknesses, even though when his mate and their future is involved, he does not scare to act and protect. An overall enjoyable short read.

Who sacrificed?

A pretty good book but a bit on the short side. However it was better than the first book in the series. In this continuation of the series, Jeff's son, Devon, his father Angus and his nephew Karl are on their way to attack the Pine Creek Lake Den for murdering their alpha Jeff who was Gale's mate. Angus and Karl are set on revenge but Devon is not a killer and wants to talk first to the other pack and so is considered weak by his grandfather Angus and cousin Karl. When Devon is snooping around the other pack"s village he's caught by Zeke, from the other pack, an omega who Devon realizes is his true mate And is forced to capture when they are discovered by Karl. What ensues is fighting, death, attacks, A new alpha and a good story!

Strife and babies!

When Devon comes looking for answers, what he finds will change his life forever. Zeke is not your typical Omega, he has asthma and a little to much padding. Devon finds Zeke just perfect and they must overcome obstacles that seem insurmountable. Fate will play a part and love is always a good bet.

A great read that moves quickly and will leave you smiling.

A wonderful short and quick read with a great storyline that is fast-paced but flows smoothly. Zeke and Devon are instantly attracted to each other but don't easily accept their mating bond. I really like that they're not your typical alpha and omega. Zeke, the omega, is very strong and Devon, the alpha, doesn't hide his feelings nor his weaknesses. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

Great Follow-Up to First Book

Continues storyline from intro book, introducing further characters related to them. And one of my favorite storylines - a good guy in a "bad" group wins them over to his good side. And, as in the first book, the true mate concept is explored again. Of course, the HEA rules again, YEAH! Anxious to begin book #3.

Solid Alpha/Omega story

This story was kind of short, but I enjoyed the characters in the book. Mpreg stories are somehow perfect for me to read to totally chill out, and this one was perfect for that.

Pine Creek Omegas

Now this is something else Devon wants to believe his , Pack trust in his leadership but has a lot of doubts. His Omega told him that his people says he's a better Alpha than father and grandfather.

I loved this book. Devon had so much to deal with because of his grandfather and cousin. Zeke had so much to emotionally deal with but it was great how they managed to come together.

Sweet

This was a short, sweet read. I liked that Zeke wasn't your typical thin, helpless love interest. I'd be down to read the next one.
