Worlds of You is a poetry collection about all kinds of love. It varies from relationship, heartbreaks, friendship and life-altering moments. The poems are easy to follow and inspirational. I like it but it wasn't as impactful as I've thought. Some of them are ordinary and fell flat.

I LOVE THIS BOOK.
I loved reading this. I loved the experience. I loved the writing. I loved the way I could relate. I loved how my heart was beating with every word I consumed. I loved how I end up highlighting 192 pages out of 192 pages. I loved the format. I basically loved the whole thing.if you haven’t get that I perhaps need to mention once more I love it
If you don’t enjoy poetry prose then don’t pick this up. I am not a huge fan of this style but this book for certain is my favorite. It was like reading all the quotes I highlight in my favorite romances, basically is my favorite thing of my favorite books. The writing is exquisite and thoughtful, I can sense it comes directly from the depths of the author. You can also tell the influences of songwriting in his poems and I am not complaining. I actually went to his Tumblr account and read this book while listening to the playlist he has there, it was lovely. I would read everything he puts out honestly, even a dictionary for that matter. Although the books are a bit pricey, so I guess when I am rich or at least work I will buy this books and wake up every morning to read one of this.
The message came like an arrow to my heart. It talks about how we need to live our lives in a meaningful way, how we need to stop being afraid of loving, how we don’t need to change ourselves for someone to love us. It honestly hit home in so many ways.
I again want to put all the quotes in my review but that’s not the point. I a, just grateful this came to save me in my endless 1-3 start readings lately.
I will leave now to handwrite the quotes and poems that I love the most.
An easy, fast, deep, exquisite read about loving and loving ourselves. Highly recommend if you enjoy moving writing and prose poetry.

I honestly found this one pretty dull. I liked some of the poems and prose because I can feel the emotions of the author, but the rest of the content of this book were just simple words for me. I found the rest of the poems and prose similar to other books and/or tumblr post I read online. There wasn’t also a single thing in this book that hooked my attention.

I've read quite a few poetry books since this beginning of this year and Beau Taplin is by far my favorite! His poetry is so relatable and beautifully written, you just can't get enough of it. As long as he continues to publish books, I'm going to keep reading them.

I liked some of the poems and prose because I can attached to the author’s emotions. The rest of the book were just simple words and honestly I got sick of heartbreaks poem and prose 😪

I loved this. I was immediately invested right from the start because of that introduction. The first poem and the explanation really got to me, and I was hooked the whole way through. I really enjoyed the writing style, the themes of love and acceptance, and I thought that a lot of the poems throughout the book stood out. The photographs were beautiful, and I loved the minimalism in the design. The pages with a short poem over a flower photo were so simple and nice. Some of Taplin's poems really reminded me of Madisen Kuhn's writing style, which I also love. Overall a really lovely book!

Some of the poems were good. This poetry book is about heartbreak and love. I kinda like tired reading about the heartbreaks honestly but I don’t know what was wrong with me I read it anyway. And turned out I liked it. Every word that the author put into was easy to understand. I can relate with some of the poems too. A few poems that I liked are Into My Arms, Stay, The Moment, Life Stories and Real Loss.

A redundant, repetitive, cliché, cheesy, trying too-hard-to-be-inspirational, trying-too-hard-to-sound-wise type of “poetry and prose” collection.
It's safe to say this book was not my cup of tea. Not my cup of anything, to be exact.
The book was so unoriginal that I was seriously surprised the author didn’t have the words “live, laugh, love” written on one of the pages.
The thing that bothers me the most about the book was that almost every single poem sounds the same. The same couple of themes come up with the same “lesson learned” because Taplin just loves to tell us what we should be feeling, thinking and doing with our lives and with our hearts.
Lessons include: life is short, live it to the fullest (gee thanks, haven’t heard that one before) and love with all of your heart because – wait for it – life is too short and you should live it to the fullest (bet you didn’t see that one coming). Of course, Taplin doesn’t flat out say those exact words since he has this technique where he’ll repeat the same themes and lessons over and over by just changing up a few words in each poem. It’s cringe-worthy by the time you get halfway through the book and want to rip your hair out in frustration.
It was outright painful to read at times – and not the “good kind” of pain you experience when you connect so deeply with the words you read in book that it tightens your heart and you feel your throat swelling up with emotions. The pain I experienced reading this book was more like “bloody freaking hell, he’s still talking about how to live life and how powerful the heart is and that we should follow our hearts and that love can hurt sometimes?”
Don’t get me wrong. I like reading about these kinds of things but NOT like this. I like to read about experiences and stories and feel all the feelings the author describes. Sure, show me what you’re feeling about things but don’t make the mistake of telling me how I should feel about them. But Taplin’s poems were just cliché after cliché.
I hate to say this (because I don’t like when people say this about poetry myself) but in my view, at least 80% of the “poems” in here aren’t poetry . Hate to be that person, but I don’t understand what is poetic about something like this:
Healthy Eating: Let loose once in a while. Stay up too late, drink until you drop, order the dirtiest, fattiest, most delicious thing on the menu…
Enough said.

Well. Honestly I have to say this was bit of a disappointment. I’ve been wanting to read Bloom by Beau Taplin, unfortunately my library does not carry it but when I saw Worlds of You on NetGalley I decided I would start with this and read Bloom at a later date. I’m starting to think that I went into this with too high of expectations, although I’m really not a harsh critic when it comes to poetry.
Worlds of You started off strong, I was writing down pages of poems I was enjoying but my recording of page numbers quickly came to an end. I was no longer connecting with the poems, and as I flipped through the pages of this on my iPad I couldn’t help but wonder if there was suppose to be a theme to this? If I remember correct this was spilt into two sections: Heart and Spirit. Heart felt like it was never ending, seriously. This section was too long while Spirit was only roughly maybe 35-40 pages. I’m curious to know what the thought process was in terms of the composition of World of You because it felt like this lacking flow.
Overall, World of You started off strong but quickly became a dull read for me. I’m not sure if I’ll read Bloom but if I do I hope I have better luck with it.

As you can see from the list at the end of this review, I liked and even loved a lot of the poems from this collection. I've read Bloom, my first book I’ve ever read written by Beau Taplin, and I think that Worlds of You is even better! I really liked Bloom, but Worlds of You contains even more poems that I really like and this book is also a lot bigger than Bloom. Worlds of You is definitely one of my favourite poetry collections!

It was a satisfactory read. There were pieces that I highlighted. I find Worlds of You as a collection of hurting; healing, encouraging, inspiring, they were raw and honest pieces that anyone can connect with. There was friendship, relationships, growing up, changing. I appreciate them, I find them encouraging mostly too. Lastly, the cover design and the roses inside were aesthetically placed well. It makes gives the piece somewhat of a more dramatic flair.

The Somber Air
Sad is something I can deal with when I'm aware
of it's source. When I'm able to take time out to
develop a solution and work my way back to a
healthier state of mind.
It's the not knowing that kills me. A vague
air of unhappiness I cannot understand, escape,
or destroy.
Beau taplin is definitely one of those writers who I need to keep on my radar from now on.
I thought overall this collection was really enjoyable. I didn't enjoy I'd say the first 1/4 of the book. I don't really know why, I just wasn't really feeling any of the poems. But I really did enjoy the rest of it. There's no denying I find Beau's writing beautiful. Lately when I'm reading modern poetry, I find myself connecting a lot with the work but not necessarily finding the writing to be pretty. But Taplin's I find to be really breathtaking at times. That being said, while I like his writing style I find it a bit inconsistent. I feel like I'm sometimes reading from two different styles within the same book. So that's why this is a three star for me; I liked a lot of the poems but don't know how I feel about the collection overall. I will definitely be reading more from him in the future though!

3.5 stars. World of You may not very original; admittedly, some of the prose can be cheesy or corny or merely adequate; some of it may even feel repetitive, yet, there are some beautiful fragments and poems which I found delightful. I can see why many people really love this book: they probably identify closely with many of the experiences//feelings explored by Beau Taplin in its verse and prose. I believe that even if someone dislikes most of this book, everyone will find at least one poem or fragment that will make them say ‘yes’.
Rather than a book of poetry and prose, World of You feels like a collection of thoughts, teachings, and sayings. This book does not hold an outstanding poetic value - especially when compared to the work of other writers- yet, this does not diminishes its lyrical beauty and overall appeal. Worlds of yoo is meant to be savoured, but perhaps not all at once, which is what I did the first time I read it. This is my second time and my experience has been enhanced by taking breaks, I am giving myself time to feel each word 😀 If you really want to enjoy it have realistic expectations and do not think of this as poetry but rather, as a collection of the author’s reflections; he lets you enter into the depths of his soul.
Rather than a book of poetry and prose, World of You feels like a collection of thoughts, teachings, and sayings. This book does not hold an outstanding poetic value - especially when compared to the work of other writers- yet, this does not diminishes its lyrical beauty and overall appeal. Worlds of yoo is meant to be savoured, but perhaps not all at once, which is what I did the first time I read it. 4.5* I was so excited for this book that I bought it for myself as a post-exam treat today and immediately started reading it on the train home. I love Beau Taplin, and have a few of his earlier collections, and this one didn't disappoint. I definitely have a few faves already, and particularly enjoyed the "Spirit" section- I wish it had been slightly longer though and taken up a full half of the book, because I felt that a few of the pieces in the Heart section were a little repetitive, where Spirit was quite varied and a bit stronger (I thought) but not nearly as long! I also would love to see some longer pieces from Taplin! Some of the 5 line pieces read to me like the start of something bigger, and having been a fan of Beau's poetry for a while now it would be interesting to see if he will keep writing in the same style or if he'll branch out a bit in he future. Perhaps not the most varied or original book of poetry I've ever read, but it is the kind of beautiful collection of words I have come to expect from this poet so I was not let down. ♡

Let’s be honest, this stuff isn’t real Edgar Allen Poe/ Shakespeare poetry but more like young adult relatable content/ thoughts. That doesn’t really matter though bc I’m too dumb for real poetry anyways. Continuing - Just like a hash brown on a Saturday morning, even though it’s oily and gross for you, it’s comfort food, and similar to this book I couldn’t help but indulge in it - it was delicious, some beautiful words in there that really made me think about my existence. However, there were a few poems that felt repetitive, as if said just a couple of pages before and then repeated w a few different words... or maybe I shouldn’t have read it all in one sitting? Must admit it was a lot to take in. Anyways lovely stuff 8/10 would read again

it's no secret that beau's poetry will forever be my favourite. i feel like such a broken record, but his way with words are incredible. his poetry is haunting and uplifting all at once. nothing i say can do it justice, honestly. i've been supporting beau for so long and i'm so happy that he's kept writing all these years and i hope he continues to because his poems speak to me on such a personal level. i think this might be my favourite collection yet.
