Story Behind the Book

“If we can help our daughters learn from a young age that they are God’s chosen princesses, we will help them to win the identity struggles they will face as teens. While we have influence in their lives, we need to deposit in their hearts and minds how much they are loved and how important they are in God’s kingdom. This book will give girls godly confidence that they are chosen by the King of all kings. Read one each day to them and watch them grow into the princesses they are destined to be!”

This book is very sweet it has very simple yet beautiful designs. I love all the different colors it is very girly. My 5 year old enjoys the cute simple stories. She always asks me. "Is this really a letter for me momma." This little book has opened the door for many heartfelt discussions about God, and how to deal with certain situations and feelings. I feel this book has provided a bridge to really plant seeds of faith deep into my daughter at a young age. The author does a wonderful job of teaching little girls how valuable, beautiful and special they are to their Heavenly Father. I'm very grateful for this book.

Dear Little Princess,

You are so special to God. You have been chosen and crowned as His princess. You are not a pretend princess. Your reign is for real because you are a daughter of the King.

You are very important in God’s kingdom. He loves you so much, and He wants to talk to you every day in His Word, the Bible.

This book has personal letters from the King, written for you to teach you how to live and act like a real princess. Someday you will meet the King in Heaven and He will give you amazing gifts for all you have done to show others that you love Him.

If you will read a letter every day, you will learn how much you are truly loved and adored by God, the King of all kings!

Love,
Sheri Rose

Dedicated to my gift from God—my daughter, Emilee Joy Shepherd.

My Thoughts
Each section in this book is portrayed as a letter from God (the King) to his daughter (the princess). Each is based on a scripture that teaches about a Godly character and ends with a prayer. A truly wonderful way to teach your daughter to understand God’s Word and treasure it as well. A must-read for every true princess! Please note ~ this book does NOT teach your child to be self centered, or obsessed with looks. It teaches about inner-beauty, and the true love of being a Christian.
I would recommend this book for any young girl, ages 8 and up. My daughters are too young to really understand the meaning of the book, which is why I am so excited to share this with my older nieces for Christmas. I just know that they will love to read a daily letter from Him, which is accompanied with beautiful prayers to share with their family. It will help them feel loved, appreciate life and know that God truly cares about them. If you would like to buy this book, you can do so at Amazon.com for as little as $11!

My little girl loves princesses, and it is the answer she gives when asked what she wants to be when she grows up. His Little Princess: Treasured Letters from Your King shows her she is a princess now. Because of her trust in God, she is the daughter of a King…the King of all kings. This devotional allows even the youngest to experience God’s truth in a fascinating and exciting way.

Mommy’s review

I have reviewed many Christian books for little girls, but this book by far has to be my favorite. His Little Princess: Treasured Letters from Your King by Sheri Rose Shepherd is a wonderful way to introduce your little girl to the concept of talking with God every day. Additionally, it is a great way to remind girls of all ages how much they are treasured by the King. I love how one side of the page contains a letter from God, and the facing page contains a response, or prayer that your daughter can pray. This allows your daughter to learn that praying to God is about listening and speaking. That we should listen to God’s Word and respond to it. Most of all, your little girl will learn how much she is valued, and see herself in the eyes of Christ, who values her for who she is, and what she can be when she yields to God’s will and purpose for her life.

I give this book five stars. It is a must for your daughter’s bookshelf, and would make a great Christmas gift!

Daughter’s Review

I think this a great book for little girls who love to pretend they are princesses. It teaches them that God loves them so much. I also think it is a great book for older girls who don’t believe in princesses anymore, because everyone should know how much God loves them. The girls can look through the book and see what is troubling them about themselves, and it will help them learn what God says. It can also help if girls are getting made fun of or are being hurt by others, it will teach them to trust in what God says, not what other people say.

I give this book five stars. Great book!

Rarely do I ever just go on and on about a book as I read tons and our family/kids love to read as well, but this is the most precious book for young girls and their relationship to God you will EVER find. It is a WONDERFUL, WONDERFULLY touching book that is full of truth and may have you in tears as the love of God for your daughter just pours out of each page.

Each page is set up with God's letter from Him to her on the left side along with a verse, and her prayer in response on the right. There are quite a few pages and it is bound well and beautifully printed.

Perfect for reading at night to your child rather than just giving to them to read on their own, it's one-page 'chapters' are perfect for bedtime, or before prayers, or as a mother or dad devotional time with your child. My daughter actually asked me to read it with her at bedtime - Me reading the God portions and her the prayers in response.

You might worry that this is just another "Prncess-marketing gimmick book" to make money ala Disney, but that couldn't be farther from the truth! This is the meat of God's word and His desire to know your little girl...It will cause her to read the Bible and want to know God better. I too, worried a bit that it would follow that same, self-centered, "You are my princess" theme that we are always fighting against, but soon realised that this book offers many of it's own correctives to this kind of thinking. Good of the author to realise this and address it early on!

We are so looking forward to the boys version, "God's Mighty Warrior" that should be coming out soon by the same author. If you have boys it will probably be as good as this one! Buy it, read it, give tons of them away. It is easily the best $$ I have spent on a book in a long time.

I love this precious book! I read this along with "The Father's Princess" with my daughter at bedtime. "His Little Princess" is like a children's daily devotional. This sweet book teaches God's Word through personal letters each day. I especially love the way it follows up with a personal prayer back to God. I read the instructional letter and have my daughter read the prayer. This book is a beautiful tool used to help teach children to communicate personally and intimately with her King. It also helps establish identity in His little princess. Great Read for all of the King's daughters!

This devotional book was great. There were a lot of great devotions that are wonderful for children to know when they are young and to remember through their entire lives. There were a few that I thought could have been done a lot better or that seemed to just be thrown in to make the book longer but overall it was a very good devotional book.
