I’m a big fan of Sherlock Holmes mysteries and have the complete annotated collection in my personal library. I read and re-read Holmes and Watson mysteries often with great pleasure. When I saw this puzzle book, I knew I had to check it out.

Filled with over 130 logic puzzles, riddles, and interesting brain teasers told from the point of view of Dr. Watson, this is a treasure for mystery and puzzle lovers alike. Each puzzle has a link to the solution as well as a link to the next puzzle which makes navigating this book a breeze on any device. The puzzles range from super easy to difficult, doesn’t take more than a few minutes each and reading it is a great brain exercise.

This puzzle book reminded me of back in my youth when I devoured Encyclopedia Brown books. It’s better, though, because it’s Holmes and Watson. The age range is middle grade to adult, although I’m sure the author has geared it for adults. It’s clean so parents don’t have to worry about the content.

If you’re a Sherlock Holmes fan and looking for fun brain-teasers to read through on your commute or while you’re waiting for the kids to get out of school, pick this up right away. It would make a superb gift, too!

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Arcturus Digital via Netgalley in the hopes I’d review it.

Another puzzle book, this one contain enigmas and not logico-math puzzles. The enigmas are always presented like they came from a dialogue between Watson and Holmes, it don't really change anything in the end, it's more a less there to make a intro to the enigma. I find it to be more challenging. Some are kind of a word twist in it, and it's in english so you have to think in english. If you're do not speak english as your primary langage, like me, it's even more challenging, but I like it. I like that the epub version as a link at the end of the puzzle that can bring you directly into the solution, so you don't have to go around into all the pages to find it and you don't find it at the bottom of the page, written head down like it's often the case. For those who like enigmas, it's a interesting book!

Co znajdziecie w środku;
☛ zagadki logiczne oraz karciane, matematyczne, łamigłówki, rebusy, zakodowane wiadomości;
☜ więcej zagadek jest po angielsku;
☛ Sprawa Dziedziców z Reigate jako oryginale opowiadanie autorstwa sir Arthura Conan Doyle'a z zagadką do rozwiązania;
☜ zagadki graficzne;
☛ Rytuał Musgrave'ów;
☜ klimat dawnej Anglii.

Don't be persuaded by the claims of this book to have a host of puzzles for the average woman to dip into and exercise their brain with. Although it's been suitably put into the fictional world of 221B, this is more or less a selection of groan-worthy riddles. What has three feet and no legs? A yardstick. You get the drift, so even if it starts with one of those gridless logical puzzles that have been kicking around for decades, not a lot here will really tax you, until you click 'solution' in exasperation, only to groan at the result. On the other hand, too much of this is primary school stuff – surely things like 'gegs' predate Holmes. And never – NEVER – would Holmes say "there are a large number of" anything. One and a half stars.

Disclaimer: I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for a review.

This is a cute book of riddles, but you've probably heard a lot of them before. Most are just plain riddles, not logic puzzles or mysteries to solve; they depend on clever wordplay or knowing some very specific setup for the answer to make sense. Some very easy, a few quite difficult, most middle of the road in terms of difficulty. I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped to mainly because I wanted more of the logic, less of the wordplay riddle.

I imagine this book would make a nice coffee table book or gift for an office gift exchange. Most people will probably find it entertaining to some degree, and it's not a big investment if they don't like it.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review and give my honest opinion.

Loved it! Sherlock Holmes is my absolute favorite detective. This was a puzzle book full of Holmes and Watson deducing puzzles. Really fun to read and try to figure them out. Most of them weren't really hard but they took some thought. I enjoyed being able to click back and forth between story and solution on the ebook I was provided. Made it very simple and easy to use. I would definitely suggest this for puzzle and mystery lovers as well as people who love a good Sherlock Holmes puzzle. The stories themselves are not very long, so it was very enjoyable. Five stars of entertainment!

A great source of fun and frustration! This feels authentic to the Sherlock Holmes stories, and gives your brain a good work out at the same time. A lot of the puzzles involve math, and calculation or finding what is unique to a number, which I failed miserably. The ones that depend on word play or logic I found I got about 90% on. These aren't too difficult to make you feel frustrated, and depending on your talents, you may find some easier than others. This would be a good book to take in a car for road trips with bored people, or for a Sherlock themed event. It's always good to stretch the brain with something other than Candy Crush every now and again.

A fun collection of word puzzles of varying difficulties. Some were easy, some were just the right level of challenging and a few required math abilities that were beyond even mine. I really enjoyed making my way through it and were able to solve satisfyingly many of them.

The kindle edition has links after each puzzle and each solution for easy navigation back and forth, which came in really handy.

Puzzles worthy of the great Sherlock Homes. Who could ask for more? And that is exactly why I chose this book, purely for the Sherlock Homes connection. I found a good collection of puzzle of different types. This was fun for a few puzzles but soon became boring because the puzzles were too easy to solve. This would probably be great for a tweens project with a puzzle a day to solve.

This was a fun little brain teaser. Mostly logic and some mathematical puzzles, also some that could not be solved by a normal person (I dare to say) but where interesting. In the ebook version is a link after every puzzle that brings one to the well explained solution, and from there back or on to the next puzzle, which made for easy reading.

A cute collection of riddles with beautiful illustrations and cozy, slice-of-life situations. The difficulty of the riddles is random, with harder ones sometimes followed by incredibly easy or quick-to-solve ones and vice versa. However, it has a good balance of both to keep the readers from getting too annoyed or solving all of them too easily.

A riddles book with an into for each riddle with Watson and Holmes conversing.

I was disappointed with the book as I thought it covers mysterious detective puzzles (being mislead by the book’s title).

I found the riddles easy to solve as I encountered most of them as a child (thus probably a 13 year old me would have enjoyed this book.).

I have the Kindle version thanks to NetGalley :)

A set of enigmas, loosely wrapped up in conversations between Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. The puzzles were fun and of varying difficulties. What I liked was there was a link at the end of each puzzle to go to the solution.

A fun and entertaining puzzle book. The puzzles are not too hard and these could be enjoyed by the whole family or as a group with friends. I like that each puzzle has a link to the soloution in the kindle edition.

This is a great riddles book. I loved the concept of it being written by John Watson just like the books.
I’ll be returning to it whenever I need to have a good enigma (which happens more than one would think).
I should definitely check it out if you are interested in this kind of thing

This was fun book full of interesting logic puzzles. The links weren't all correct which led to some frustrations but I would hope that would be fixed by the time they published the book.

I quite enjoyed this little book of puzzles, but I reckon that's only because I kept the solutions bookmarked at all times. If I'd taken each vignette as a personal challenge, it would've been no fun at all.
Some of the puzzles are very easy, some are a bit more meaty, and others I never would've solved in a million years. There are a handful of math problems, which I wasn't too pleased about, but I actually managed to solve a few, and they were more enjoyable to read than I'd expected.
The characters of Holmes & Watson are, for the most part, portrayed accurately. Reading several of their antics in quick succession adds up to a very amusing afternoon.
