Repetitive

The book has great ideas, but it's repetitive. I read about the pantry, the freezer, the tiny house, and a few pages later, I'm reading the same thing, just worded different.

This lady has lots of determination . Life gives us a lot of bumps. Good luck with the canning. When I had a garden. My husband and I

used to walk around every evening seeing how things had grown . This was something we could share. We were also growing our family. This book hit close to home. One of my favorites.

So glad I picked this up

A chalk FULL of down to earth inspiration, information, and support. I adore Kate's honesty and transparency. I love that this book is more about consistency than perfection and about finding what works for your unique family needs. I look forward to reading more books from Kate.

A Way of Life

It may not be your preferred domain, or it might be,but it's fun to read about and imagine yourself doing. I'm a 75-year-old invalid now, but if I had read this 55 years ago I would have tried to do the same thing.
Worth reading for most women and some men.

Padded!

There is some good, practical advice in this book, but it gets so repetitive that it is annoying. She could have given the information in one essay.

Absolutely repetitive. This book could have been 5 pages long. Instead it is blog post after blog post of the exact same thing.

I really wanted to love this book but sadly I found it extremely repetitive....The pages were filled with the same stories and scenarios - sometimes in the same exact words and sentences!

I will give this 5 stars because I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. However, if you are not familiar with Kate, I think this would be very hard to absorb. I have been a subscriber for years so I was able to understand the back stories and understand it was several blog entries over the years. That being said, this is a wonderful look into a housewife's life. As a homemaker, I found her thoughts comforting and relatable. It gave me a boost of motivation for my homemaking. She sets a great example of letting go of perfectionism and loving right where you are at.
