The Path to the Tree: Prophecy and its Pursuit in the Jewish Tradition

Rate this book
Prophecy long ago ceased from the Earth, but is destined to return. Examining and interpreting sources from the Bible, the Talmud, and kabbalistic and philosophical works about prophecy, The Path to the Tree helps paint a portrait for readers how that revival might come to be, and the hurdles that will be faced along the way.

The book boldly suggests that the use of safe psychoactive substances, particularly cannabis, together with a life of piety and study, could with divine grace, facilitate the achievement of greater consciousness.

Far from encouraging an imprudent leap into drug use, this book offers words of caution and guidance for those seeking to incorporate cannabis use into their worship. The Path to the Tree shows that Judaism's rich prophetic tradition has room for new beginnings-and posits that a greater awareness of the divine can transform humanity and help bring about a new prophetic era.

A very wacky premise, but a compelling and unique approach to prophecy that's worth reading even if your approach to drugs is more theoretical than practical
