Difficult to read on Kindle!

I found the print tiny and it was difficult to have to zoom in on every page . Actually I gave up and ordered the print version! As an intermediate water colorist I found his technique of going straight for painting without much preliminary line work very interesting and instructive. I have read his urban sketching book and was already familiar with many of his terms. Having the hard copy will provide me with a nice reference book to refer to when trying his technique s. I wish I had realized ahead of time that the kindle format is so awkward for this book.

I like Marc's Style and approach to things!

I have taken a few of Marc's online workshops and follow his blogs and I am not disappointed in the least with Direct Watercolor. He provides you the well written knowledge here and gives you the visual references you need to take on the task of direct watercolors. Now my goal is to do the time and practice to get good at it!

Many thanks for an excellent tutorial

I am just now learning watercolor techniques! Often, while I read volumes, putting what I read into practice. This book, feeds both the intellectual as well as the more aesthetic techniques!!! Yes, I wrote this review myself. Thank you! Betty Smith

An inspiration!

At whatever level of artistic skill and experience, Marc Taro Holme's books are motivational and energising sources. Makes me want to grab my sketchbook and run outside!

Eye candy with wonderful tips

I got the digital version...good being able to zoom in to see the details, bad that I had to zoom every page. I would highly recommend this book for watercolor artists.

Honest and inspiring

I like the blow by blow accounts of direct watercolor process. As an urban sketcher working on the fly with short time frames this works!
