A vampire, a werewolf and a Larentii walk into a bar... Lissa, Winkler, Zaria and Breanne are forced into the past to protect the timeline from rogue gods. What seems a simple task at first turns far more sinister and deadly, when the rogues' true goals are discovered. The rogues' objective? To reverse the outcome of the God Wars in their favor…
Connie Suttle lives in Oklahoma with her husband and three cats.
Connie holds an MFA in Fine Art (film production and animation) and taught courses at the university level before moving on to bookstore management. Nowadays, if she isn't writing or editing, she's dreaming up her next book.
Note to Self: Do not waste money on this author's work. Not worth it.
I bought this book after reading a few pages of the sample. Blood Reunion #10 was good because it focused on some of the children and tied up several plot lines. I ignored all of the editing mistakes and plot holes because I like the characters enough to continue. The sample for Blood Recall #11 started off with a conversation about more kids. Cool. I loved the kids. This book is not about the kids & adding extra details about the world in the series. Not the way it was in #10.
Unfortunately, I paid for another series by this author. I really regret that now.
- Writing does not grow at all between 2011 to 2018. - Errors in every book: grammar, words, spelling, etc. - This book had TERRIBLE POV switches that did not add to the story. - I followed the main Blood Destiny series and did not read all of the spin off series. This book makes less sense because it takes it for granted that the reader read all of the other series. - Time travel & changes were not handled well AT ALL. - All of the "key" characters experience abuse & dysfunctional relationships/environments. On top of that, they don't grow beyond those situations much even if they are landed into HEA. - This has to be one of the WORST multi-partnered relationship books I have read. It starts off somewhat reasonable and then loses all of that over time. Like Lissa's relationship with Norian. Norian is a self-centered ass that has narrowed focus. He does what he wants. I guess it's good that Lissa LIKES other people telling her what to do and how to feel because there was ZERO relationship development between those two before they end up in bed together. There's nothing wrong with having multiple partners, etc. But you're not going to be a prude after having more than 20 different partners. At that point, EVERYONE should have another partner lined up because one (maybe) day per each partner doesn't actually leave much time for relationships to stay in touch & develop.
Concepts are cool. Actual execution and weaving of the concepts are terrible.
Too much of the same stuff. It's like the author took all the aspects from previous books, threw them in a box, shook it up and then wrote the story as the elements were drawn back out. Time travel screws up an old plot. Same characters with the same issue of not being unique - people from different countries and state speak differently and use different phrases. Same issues with punctuation and editing.
I loved book 10, it had the children and it was fresh but this was more of the same and that is ok but…. But there are too many series coming together in this one. I know there was a warning at the beginning that it might “spoil” or not make sense. BUT this is BOOK 11 of Blood Destiney and all it really was, was Lissa going back in time and making sure things don’t change. Things we have already seen before. It was meh. Narration again was awesome.
Another fabulous story from Connie Suttle, she takes time bending and mindbending stories to a whole new level. Can’t wait for next installment in this series.
I am so happy that Connie decided to dive back into her Blood Destiny Series. We got to say hello to old friends and new with this book. The twists and turns had my head spinning in a good way and I can't wait to see what happens next. One of her characters once compared time to cooked spaghetti, instead of being linear, it twists and turns depending on decisions made and actions taken or not. How she manages to go from the past to the future and tell the story from so many different perspectives is mind boggling, but she does, and successfully too! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and all of its twists and turns!!
Brilliant - as always. I love all Ms Suttle's strong female characters but Zaria is my favourite so the release of a new book featuring both her and Lissa is a happy reading day. The inverted jack and the beanstalk showdown with the big bad (and don't we want to stomp him into dirt) is rapid, complex, and huge. I'm looking forward to book 12.
This is the series that started me on the Lissa journey and every series since then. While this book was a good read I regard it as a sacrilege in that it is impinging the storylines of the previous books. For that alone I removed 2 stars from what would have been a 5 star rating.
To quote the original Powers DO NOT "Change What Was". The original storylines should be sacrosanct - Oh but this wasn't changed - yes, Ilya's son was supposed to have died, what about all the additional people on Refizan who died. Zaria finding out who her mothers are centuries beforehand should also have a ripple affect in the relationships. Resetting it all back in the upcoming final chapter(s) in these new additional storylines will make them irrelevant in the greater scheme of things.
I hold fast of my later opinions that the rogue gods and Liron etc have become monotonous even though new storylines are developed over the newer series. The ’evil doers’ are still performing the same acts with the same casts, compulsion and obsession but in different timelines, planets and machinations.
I loved this book, even if it were confusing at times. I so would not want to read it without having read the previous books CS has written. I love how complicated it can be and all of the different versions of previous characters showed up. It was facinating to see how much those characters have grown and made me nostalgic about picking up Blood Wager and starting the ride all over again ... though I'd probably not get crap done for the entire time I'm reading it again. Though... I could probably do a lot of skipping...
It just comes to show that even though you think the WTF stuff is done and over with there is a way for it to still not be thanks to all the time travel. I know it is confusing so I don't think about it too much, lol. I just enjoy the ride.
As a huge Connie Suttle fan, I expected to love Blood Recall, and I absolutely did. The story combines favorite and not so favorite characters from several series into an excellent tale. The down side, the book could be hard to follow if the reader wasn't familiar with other books. Since I have read, and re-read each series several times, I found Blood Recall to be amazing in how the Author tied everything together. Definitely looking forward to a continuation in the same vein.
I was sad when I thought that the series was over in book ten. I am glad to be back within the Blood Destiny universe. The story is fresh and entertaining with many unexpected twists. Familiar characters get together in intriguing fashion and leave you waiting impatiently for the next book.
Oh my goodness, the stories that Connie Suttle creates and pieces together is absolutely amazing. Love the fact that this book takes place within the timeline of another story and we get to continue with more from the Blood Destiny series. I'm so excited that there is to to be a book 12.
5 stars again! Just when you think theres no new directions for Connie to take Lissa and others, she takes you in a new and always high tension spin. For all that have been following this journey, read it now..... and for those who haven't but love good fantasy, start immediately
I am so excited that Connie returned to Lissa, Charles, Bree, and Ziara. I am not a fan of the Rose series, and while the Mindmage series is ok, I was beginning to step away from reading her work. This one makes me want to read my library of Connie all over again.
I have read all of these books in this world and this one takes me back. I had to try really hard to remember past books. It didn’t take long. I am simply and utterly amazed with Connie Suttle, what an imagination to write these amazing and intricately detailed worlds. I will be waiting for fall to get here for book 12.
As usual, Ms. Suttle hit it out of the park! I have been hungry for more of the original series, and the author delivered with a bang. It was so good to see some of the old favorites and reunite with them. I really enjoy this story, and I’m looking forward to the next. Fall cannot come to soon!
Tears were falling near the end. Bouncing around between the past and future was strange at first but you get the hang of it. Zaria is a force that no one understands. We now know who her pareants are, you will have to read to find that out!! Oh I can’t wait for the next one!!!
Absolutely love all books by this author. I was very excited to see so many characters brought together again. I will be waiting patiently for the next installment in the fall.
Twist , turns and suspense! An absolute page turner! I have loved reading these books i feel as if the characters are my friends and family. We finally learn who zaria's mom is!
While I have read all the books connected to this one, I restarted on book nine to remind me what was going on. And even doing that, I still felt lost. I need a character guide. The book was good but I spent more time questioning past situations then I wanted to.
I like the way that main characters from many of the different story lines are being tied together. This feels like the end of this universe of characters.
It was good but very hard to follow. I thought I had read the whole series but there were things in this book that were new to me, new characters. I must have missed some books somewhere.i read the 10 series but there had to be more. Other than that the book was excellent!
I had a lot of trouble getting through this book. There was too much going on to figure out the story line. I didn't like this story. I hope the next one is better.
Did not get on with this book at all. The constant change from person perspective had me reading and re-reading paragraphs to understand who I was reading about. I actually gave up less than half way through. Very disappointed.
A bit confusing at times but a brilliant book add to this amazing series loved the characters and the storyline and couldn't put it down so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend it to everyone
As usual, Ms Suttle did not disappoint. Her world building is exceptional. I enjoyed visiting these characters again and will wait patiently for the next installment.
