Rate this book
Travel to India with the Children of Fire as they face their most dangerous challenge yet!

Normal people don’t vacation in India during the monsoon season. Sapphire is anything but normal. Still, vacations are supposed to be fun and all she wants to do is relax, sort out her confused heart, and wait for her cousin to be born. But the Asuras and magical beings of India have been waiting for the Jewel of Akasha and they don’t want to go home; they want power.

To heal the benevolent, Sapphire can’t separate out the evil — all will have access to the energy of Akasha. An event that will draw Cartazonon right to them on his sinister quest for unlimited power.

Being an Indian and reading about India in a book is whole lot of a blissful experience. Sapphire and Taliesin's relationship will grow eventually and a whole lot of mysteries regarding the death of Sapphire and the brothers of Shamash is going to open up. And the book is going to end up with multiple tragedies. I won't reveal about them as it would be a major spoiler but my heart shattered into pieces after completing this one. This was definitely the preparatory ground for the ultimate showdown and who is ultimately going to win, the good or the evil? Or is there any evil at all? But someone good and pure turned to evil due to his greed for power. This book is also going to unfold a bit about Cartazonon and has already left me starving for more. A brilliant and extravagant journey around the gods of India and how is this gonna shape the future of the Rayners (Sapphire) and the Marsh (obviously Anali and Gavin) . Waiting eagerly for the next book in the series with the hope that everything will go well. Hope it will help weave the loose threads that this part has left out and the history of the Sons of Belial as well.

Well, our friends are now in India and stirring up trouble with all the magical beings, again (the good and the bad). We find answers to questions and ask whole new ones. I have got to say this is the saddest book so far (If the author reads this then I ask, WHY did you do it??? You know which part I mean) and feels like the scene is being set for the next book (the final showdown?). As always the detail about India is amazing and the friendship of our dear friends is always entertaining and makes me laugh.

I really love this series, and this book is no different. It had a touch more of a romance element in it than the others, which is a bit out of my comfort zone. I look forward to the next book, but dread the end of this series, I hope it goes well for Sapphire and the others.

I loved Alica's latest installment in the Children of Fire series. It features amazing descriptions of India, the culture, and its people.
Alica has managed to create such memorable characters over these last 5 books that I can't help but fall in love or feel heartbroken during so many moments that happened in book 5. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book and learn how this amazing journey is going to end!
