One job, two opponents, and one hell of an attraction between them…
Why’d he have to be so manly, rugged, and sexy? Why’d there have to be that stupid no dating rule within the staff at WOLF? And why couldn’t I turn my hormones off and be the professional I needed to be? I knew the answer to the last question. How could anyone turn off something so hot? When he touched me, it left my flesh sizzling. When our lips met for the first time, I knew I was done for. He had me right from the start. Took me higher than I knew was possible. My body was his, at his mercy, and he gave none. But our jobs might cost us the passion we’d found. Would we really let that happen?
This book is a full-length standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA, no cliffhanger and plenty of steam. Exclusive bonus content included.
Dirty News was an okay kind of book. I guess I just expected something more, like more smut, with this delicious hot man cover. However, I only really got smut towards the last 20% of my kindle book. THE LAST 20% GUYS! I was dying.. drowning in boredom.
Lila and Duke were kind of a cute couple in the first half of this book. The sparks and shit were cute and adorable but, again, I was so bored. I wanted smut. Heck, I demanded it! What I got was an actual storyline with some smut added but I wished it was more half and half. I would've liked it a lot better because I was just getting bored and wanted to skim towards the juicy stuff.
Now the ending was predictable. Of course these two would form an unforbidden romance at this ridiculous work place. Now I totally get the no employee dating rule.. but their boss took it to the extreme. For example, no hugs or high fives. If you rolled your eyes or screamed WTF at this review.. then you felt my pain. It was so weird for their boss to act this way.. but in the end he finally understood that he was a pain in the ass and changed his ways and company.
Oh yeah, the ending.. I mentioned that. Well, if I talk about that.. well, it would be a huge spoiler. It's cute and predictable. Overall, it was a good book. Kind of meh and boring but it was enjoyable towards the end.
Lila is fresh out of college and interviewing for her dream job on the news. Duke is a retired football star that wants a job to cure his boredom. They both interview for the same job at the new WOLF network. The boss likes them both, but only one can secure the anchor position. They must compete for the job through a series of "tests"; however, the time they spend with one another stirs up more emotions than their competitive natures. The biggest obstacle to their developing feelings is a corporate policy forbidding any relationship other than strictly professional.
This was hot. I liked the characters and I liked the storyline. Yes, the no fraternizing rule in a corporate setting was a little hard to believe, but it served a purpose in the plot. I was easily distracted away from it because... did I mention the hotness?
I enjoyed Michelle Love’s books. Dirty News was different and an overall good story. I loved the primary and secondary characters. The steam factor was on high with chemistry overflowing. Great quick steamy read. My only real complaint is sometimes the writing feels formal or a bit still, especially during some of the dialogue. Overall I’d recommend and say get ready for a sexy fun ride. I received an arc copy and this is my voluntary, true, and honest opinion.
It was a nice sweet book but, wasn’t deep. Duke & Lila worked together at Wolf news. It was very similar to any station except, it had a no harassment Policy. Where the men and women couldn’t be anymore then friends. Working this policy out was their job to solve.

Another smashing hit from Michelle Love that will keep you hanging on to the edge of your seat. I love that Michelle brings to attention the subject of sexual harassment in the work place and takes it a step further to show the difference between harassment and consensual. This story is about Lila Banks, a freshly graduated journalism major from New Mexico and Duke Cofield retired linebacker for the NY Jets interviewing at the new on the edge TV station WOLF in New York City. After interviews Lila is the nightly newscaster and Duke is the nightly sportscaster but the owner Artimus Wolfe is undecided about the morning anchor position putting Lila and Duke in competition for the job. Each has their own reason for wanting the job and not backing down. Competition is not the only thing between Lila and Duke, the attraction between them is a no no and a definite distraction. When the owner announced he is enforcing a strict no fraternization policy within the whole company everyone is stunned. But what happens when you tell someone they can't have what they want...they want it even more and will take steps to get it. One taste, one touch isn't enough for these hungry consenting adults, but if they are found out they will lose their job and possibly each other in the end. Can they convince their boss to give in a little on his policy while still making people feel safe at work and if not what will Duke do if he can't have the woman he loves??? This story is flawlessly written and keep your attention through to the end and beyond to the bonus stories. I love the his/her POV, no cheating, no cliffhanger and that Duke and Lila get their HEA. A must read so one click now and enjoy. Can't wait for more Michelle Love, she is an automatic one click author for me.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book Thank You Michelle Love for an awesome read!!!
What happens when a young, idealistic college grad travels across the country to land her dream job in NYC, finds herself in competition for said job with a too-sexy-for-morning-news former NY Jets football star, and their stubborn new boss says relationships at work are taboo? Yep. The sparks fly like roman candles on New Year’s Eve.
Duke and Lila may have a slight age difference, but that doesn’t matter a bit once they meet. Their chemistry is elemental and instantaneous. But finding out that they’re in competition for the same position at the new broadcasting station, and that their new boss has a zero tolerance policy toward any form of workplace romance has them acting like crazy highschoolers under the bleachers. None of the options look good here. Except the sex—which is rockin’. But that will get them both fired.
The characters are enjoyable and fun, with enough depth that you can easily fall into their world and want them to come out of this on top…so to speak. I loved the originality and the timeliness of the storyline, focusing on harassment and sexual issues within the workplace without losing the entertainment factor of the story. In short: very nicely done.
Since Duke and Lila’s attraction is so steamy, their love scenes are not going to be a simple fade to black sort of arrangement; they’re hot. They’re hose-me-down, I-think-I’m-having-heatstroke hot. Interestingly, there is almost no adult language in the novel as far as curse words go. Those love scenes, well, if you don’t use adult language for those it can make you sound like a 5 year old sometimes, and Ms. Love is too good an author for that. So if you’re up for it, relax, fire up your e-reader, and enjoy!
I received a free copy of this book via Ebook Itch Romance and am voluntarily leaving a review. Gotta love the forbidden romance. This is another great read. Lila and Duke are fighting for the same anchor job of the new chic TV station WOLF. But that isn't the only thing they are fighting. They are attracted to each and the boss has a strict no harassment, no fraternization rule. What to do? This is a fun read and I stayed up way to late to finish it. It is well written and every now and then the author would throw in a line or two that had me laughing out loud. I liked that at twenty-two Lila was very mature for her age as was Duke at thirty-two. He had more life experience than Lila but she learned fast when it came to her getting the anchor job. The competition was fierce and the attraction fiercer. The characters in the book were well developed and had great personalities. I liked Nina as Lila's first friend in New York City. She proved to be an excellent friend with connections that helped her impress the boss. You would think that Duke would have an in to the Good Ole Boys Network but that was not the case. Even though he had been the wide receiver for the NY Jets. Artimus Wolfe the owner was indeed a fair and honest boss. Duke had no such advantage and soon realized that Lila was a formidable foe. Did Lila and Duke want to be foes or was there something else life had planned for them? An excellent book. I highly recommend it.
Lila💋💃, a blonde, fresh faced, young woman and recent journalism grad from UCLA, receives an invitation from a brand new tv network in NYC. The network is WOLF, owned by Artimus Wolfe. He wants Her to interview for his news anchor! Duke🐺🏈🍆🌋, former linebacker for the NY Jets, and all around slick, handsome lady's man, and big time player, has also been asked to interview for the same job!
Artimus tells them it will be a competition between the two of them. He provides a camera crew for each of them to go out and get some interviews. Artimus is adamant that there will be absolutely no workplace dating. All the new employees have to sit through three days of classes about work place sexual harassment, and bullying. Duke🐺🏈🍆🌋 was really wanting to get to know Lila💋💃, much, much better! Now what? Will they be able to keep their hands off each other? Not likely! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎
I liked The book! Its a fun, sexy, sweet story, with the two characters constantly trying to one up the other, while at the same time wanting to jump each others bones! The book is written with dual points of view.
ARC fronted by the Author for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also purchased the book with KU.
Additionally, there are more complete books included, plus some sneak peeks here, for many hours of reading pleasure.
Lila is a young journalism graduate and gets her job as the night newscaster at the tv station WOLF. The nightime sportscaster is Duke, retired linebacker for the NY Jets, and the air practically sizzles whenever they are near to one another. But there is a strict no fraternisation policy at work. But how can Duke deny his love for Lila?? This is such a fun read by Michelle Love that I'm actually going to say that it is a MUST HAVE READ. Michelle has created two wonderful characters in Lila and Duke - she is smart and feisty whilst he is an alpha male through and through but he is also a man in love! This is a fast paced read that I was so drawn to the storyline that I felt as if I was seeing the story right before my eyes. Their banter is witty and very flirty which was adorable to read and I loved that we 'heard' both their POV so it was so much more intimate and I felt more engaged with the story. Will they give each other up as they want their dream jobs or will they resign from their jobs for LOVE?? Or will the rules be relaxed?? To find out you're going to need to get a copy for yourself and I hope that you enjoy the story as much as I did! I received a free copy of this book and leave this review of my honest opinion here.
Lila Banks is brand new to New York City and is going after a position at the new TV Station, WOLF, she wants to land the lead anchor position, but will she be good enough for it. But when she has to compete with Duke to get the position, who will win out?
Duke Cofield is a retired linebacker for the NY Jets and is going for the anchor position at WOLF, but lands the sportscaster position, but will competing with Lila get complicated? Can he handle her inside and outside of work?
Just before WOLF is supposed to go live, the owner Artimus Wolfe wants no physical relationships at work, if that happens, you will be fired. Can everyone live up to this? His reasons for this are solid and well founded, but the chemistry between Lila and Duke have them risking everything to be with one another. Will it cost them everything?
This story is well-written and keeps your attention throughout the entire story. It was great to see the characters come into their own and fight for one another and their love. Will it be enough? This does touch on sexual harassment in the workplace, both harassment and consensual. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Michelle is an excellent writer and she has proved it once again with this book. The story revolves around sexual harassment in the work place, a topical subject. Lila a recent journalism graduate is competing for the morning anchor job at the new NYC network WOLF. Duke a hunky ex ball player is also competing for this position. Both want the job badly but the chemistry between them is too hot to deny. Unfortunately the owner has instituted a strict no fraternization policy for all employees. Lila and Duke try to hide their attraction and then their relationship. That's where the problems begin. “Dirty News” is an entertaining read, a marvelous romance and one that you must read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I usually love Michelle Love's novels. They are really hot and fun to read. I was a little disappointed in Dirty News. I just felt like the plot was unbelievable and just kept repeating itself over and over again. The situations were outrageous on how no one can touch another employee because it would be looked at like they were flirting. It just seemed like Love was stretching to find conflict in this story. But she sure can write the love scenes. I just felt like it was unbelievable just like a Hallmark holiday movie that is filmed in June and the snow is melting. I didn't hate it, just thought it needed a little more umph and less repeating the situation over and over again. I received an ARC copy to give an honest review.
I really loved this latest release from Michelle Love. The emotional and passionate connection between Duke and Lila felt real and genuine which made the story that much easier to read. The competitiveness, teamwork, secret trysts and soldering hot passion all worked together to make this a great book and fantastic read! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Duke = 5/5 Heroine, Lila = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 4/5 Mystery = 1/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 1/5 Humor = 2/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
Another smashing hit from Michelle Love that will keep you hanging on to the edge of your seat. I love that Michelle brings to attention the subject of sexual harassment in the workplace and takes it a step further to show the difference between harassment and consensual. When it comes to steamy authors, Michelle Love is one of my favorites. Dirty News, the first book in the Dirty Network series, is definitely steamy. The characters are enjoyable and fun, with enough depth that you can easily fall into their world and want them to come out of this on top…so to speak
First Dirty News is a great story and it just took a long time to get to the end. I enjoyed Duke and Lila, both characters grow and fight a crazy rule but you can’t stop the heart.
After you get a sneak peek into two other stories by this author. I double checked he description on amazon and there is nowhere it says extra content!
The book is 35% stuffed and I only wanted one story. It’s great you put a sneak peek in but for 35% is a bit ridiculous!!
I know authors like to raise points on social justice in their books sometimes and this author did just that: Office Sexual Harassment. The only bad thing is that there was too much of it written into the story. I even started skimming the sections on harassment because it had gotten so boring. THEN when the "no employees dating rule" was made less strict, the story was wrapped up in about a page. What a let down. There was no proper ending.
Really good read. They have this no relationship policy at where they work. But when you have an attraction to someone that big you can't help yourself and when he returns it then the trouble starts. It gets to be a sticky situation from there. It is exciting, fun, emotional, suspenseful and so much more. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by ebook itch and voluntarily review it.
Another fantastic read from Michelle. I really enjoyed this one because its definitely different when it comes to most romance books. I love the setting of it as well and the competition between Lila and Duke. So entertaining. I can't wait to read the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Lila is fresh out of college and up for her dream job in New York, Duke is a former football player for the New York jets and competing for the same job. The attraction is definitely there but their boss has told them that workplace dating isn’t allowed. Will they be able to follow the rules? Great characters an entertaining story and plenty of steam. A good read!
Being in competition for the same job is bad enough, but to be attracted to each other too! Duke and Lila have sizzling chemistry and when he owner of the company enforces a strict no fraternization policy, that just makes them want each other more! It's a very entertaining and hot read. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is a well written story as the two main characters are competing for the same job, only relationships at work are taboo, can they avoid the chemistry between them or will they succumb?
I found this to be exciting and had me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen.
I was given a copy of this book by the author and I voluntarily leave my own honest opinion
Let me just say how much I enjoy Michelle Love's books and this one is included.i couldn't put it down the storyline focussed on sexual incidents in the workplace and the story was steamy with hot romantic love scenes a standalone with an happy ending really looking forward to more books. A fantastic book by Michelle Love that will keep you turning the pages. Lily just graduated and heads to NY for her dream job as newscaster. Lily finds out she is in competition with hot former football player Duke for the job. Duke and Lily have scorching chemistry and the taboo work relationship rule is set ablaze. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Yet again Michelle Love has written a beautiful steamy read that captivates the reader from start to finish. This is a standalone book with no cliffhangers. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Lila and Duke are competing for the same job. They also have off the charts chemistry and can't keep their hands off each other. A sexy, steamy romance. Enjoyable read, a stand alone and no cliff hangers.
I received an arc and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Michelle Love did a good job Dirty News. The story was well written and had good plot. Duke and Lila were great together. I enjoyed their journey. Their chemistry was sexy. Duke and Lila were made for each other. I enjoyed this book. Thank you, Michelle Love. Great work :)
Dirty News by Michelle Love Michelle Love has given us another wonderful read, when it comes to steamy authors, Michelle Love is one of my favorites. "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."
The Forbidden Fruit It seems like you always want what you can’t have. It’s nice to have the rich guy being the one over thinking the relationship and being clingy. This is not the typical rich guy/nerdy poor girl book. I received an advanced copy. This is my honest review.
An alright read. Duke and Lila had chemistry, yes, but I found some of their conversations boring. Plot was a forbidden love type. Sex scenes were done very well, but other than that, there was nothing special about this book.
