Read and used! Chef Ash is legendary. He's also supremely kind; I had the chance to meet him in Santa Rosa and interview him for Sommelier Magazine. I can't say enough good things about his foresight, his care and his warm spirit.
Rabbit Sauteed with Mustard - 3.8 stars - took time but not a lot of work. worth the effort put into it - the cabbage salad included with the recipe was a nice accompaniment
I just scored this cookbook from the used section of our library....for a buck! Gotta love that!
I just finished skimming the book and am so anxious to try some new recipes. All of the recipes look fresh, tasty and require relatively few ingredients with no fuss preparation. The section that I am most excited to try out is titled Vegetarian Main Courses and Special Sides. We try to eat at least one vegetarian meal a week so new ideas are always needed in this house. I am a bit disappointed that there is not a chapter devoted to veggies as a side, but I do recognize that most recipes incorporate veg in some way or another. The salad section goes way beyond the traditional salad, grilled kale anyone? How about white bean salad with grilled tomatoes? Yummmmy!
This book, as suggested by the title, focuses on eating seasonally and sustainably. Oh how I miss my big, beautiful, abundant garden!
This has some wonderful recipes that just make my mouth water. The few recipes that I've tried have all come out execellent... I hope to try more this summer once my garden starts producing some veggies for me :o)
