My family has secrets. I’m always the good girl, doing what’s necessary to keep my loved ones safe. I've kept the darkest secrets from everyone I know. As painful as it is to hold them all inside where they live and gnaw away at me, that’s where they must stay.

I haven't seen my closest childhood friend, Christian Bear, since I was a teenager—he hasn't changed a bit. He’s still temperamental and plays by his own rules with the law following two steps behind him.

Christian remembers me. But he doesn’t know the first thing about me anymore. I should've shared my feelings with him the day before I moved away with my family, promising him I'd stay in touch. It broke my heart when he didn't keep his end of the bargain. As a consequence, we haven't spoken in years. Even though Christian and I have always had undeniable chemistry, I won't let him shatter my heart a second time.

Christian has shown up in my life again with secrets of his own, and demanding answers. That doesn't mean I'm willing to give them. He'll know my secrets when I’m ready.

Our secrets, the risks we’re taking, and the danger he imposes make it impossible to know what our future holds.

Either our tethered souls will bind back together, or our secrets will separate us forever.

5 stars!!

Beth Flynn always blows me away with her writing. She is one of the best story tellers out there, and I love how her books are always original and keep me guessing. Tethered Souls is a bit different than her other books, as it's not quite as dark and not as much of an MC book, but I still loved it just as much as the rest! Mimi and Christian's story is one I've been looking forward to for the longest time, and it did not disappoint!

I loved Grizz & Kit's trilogy, and I loved Christy and Bear's book. What better than a book about their kids that I have shipped from the moment we saw them together?!? Mimi has spent a lot of her life living with a secret. Her family life is something she can't be open about with everyone, and something she can't really talk about. She's spent a lot of her life pretending to be someone she's not. Christian Bear is someone she hasn't seen in a while, but has never ever forgotten about.

The way Christian and Mimi come back together is a bit... unorthodox, but that is nothing new when you think of their parents lives and how they were raised. Mimi can be completely herself with Christian. I loved these two together. I don't want to talk much about their story, or back story, but know it was so so good! I loved that there were things I never guessed and twists and turns that caught me off guard. Also, though it had a bit of that rawness and grit as some of the other stories, it was down right sweet and romantic through much of it, which was a nice change of pace!

I love stories that have that unpredictable quality, ones that keep me on my toes, make me think and make me feel. Tethered Souls did all that and more. Once again, Beth wrote a uniquely beautiful story that had just the right amount of emotion, romance, grit, and one that kept me completely engaged. You CAN read this book as a stand-alone, but those of you who have read the other books in this series will get so much more out of it and love it all the more! I highly recommend it!

SWEET SIGH! I can’t stop smiling. I can’t stop swooning. I can’t stop floating. I can’t stop feeling and loving the Nine Minutes series! EMOTIONALLY EXPLOSIVE and BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL, TETHERED SOULS is a heart-hitting and soul-stirring second-chance romance that sweeps you away. It’s the perfect blend of sexual tension, swoon, and suspense. Tethered Souls is a tale of friends on fire that touches the heart and MELTS EVERYWHERE. SO DELICIOUSLY DREAMY! Be still my beating heart! I LOVED THIS BEAUTY IN WORDS!

Tethered Souls is a spin-off of the Nine Minutes trilogy but a lighter version with more tenderness than thrills and more swoon than suspense. I adored Mimi and Christian’s melt-my-heart romance so much—the struggle, the sharp suspense, and the forever love of soulmates that shines bright—that I didn’t want it to end. Tethered Souls felt like a fierce fairytale and I was WHOLEHEARTEDLY ENAMORED with the perfectly imperfect hero and heroine who ENGRAVED MY HEART.

He’s shattered my heart into a million pieces.

The push and pull between Christian and Mimi is delicious. Their angst is so ACHINGLY ADDICTIVE! This hero and heroine’s chemistry is one that you can feel combust all over the pages. Christian and Mimi are MAGICAL together!

Our souls have been tethered, and she’s always belonged to me.

In a few short days and a marathon read, Beth Flynn has become one of my TOP AUTHORS, one whose words I’ll forever regret not meeting sooner. Once you pick up this incredibly talented author’s books, you can’t put them down as the words leap from the pages straight to your soul. Beth Flynn writes with such ease, WOWING ME with her words, weaving a magical spell on me, where I am always HOPELESSLY HOOKED with my HEART HIJACKED. There’s a depth and breadth to Beth Flynn’s writing that is unparalleled where you can’t help but be in awe of her stories’ perfectly placed puzzle pieces. This masterful storyteller’s writing is woven in intricate layers like a spider’s web—deep, delicate, detailed, and often devastatingly beautiful—where it is truly special.

”I’ve got you, Mimi. I’ll always have you.”

Tethered Souls is SPECIAL. It’s a love story you feel with your whole heart, one that squeezes the soul. Tethered Souls is a tender and touching TESTAMENT TO LOVE. An UNFORGETTABLE and FEEL-WORTHY LOVE STORY, Tethered Souls makes you want to grab onto every opportunity, take risks, open your heart to love, and live life to the fullest. I felt all the love in this love story that gave me all the butterfly flutters and feels. An emotional journey and stunning story of strength, second chances, and soulmates that shines, Tethered Souls is Beth Flynn’s MOST ROMANTIC ROMANCE yet! My heart was and is still tethered to this EPIC and ever-lasting love story. Tethered Souls is MOVING ... MEMORABLE ... MELT-WORTHY ... EMOTIONALLY-RICH ... EVERYTHING!

A MUST-READ & TOP 2018 ROMANCE

MY REVIEW can also be found on my blog:
KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

TETHERED SOULS: By Beth Flynn is the second 'spin off novel' from the Nine Minutes trilogy and can be read as a complete standalone. A coming of age novel for the grown parents with dark pasts.

"I will always wear my ring and be your bestest friend ever. And I will be your wife and live with you when we get older, and we get jobs and you make us a house. And if we go to the doctor and he puts a baby in my belly, I will be the mummy and you will be the daddy when the baby comes out."

When history repeats itself..And where the past and present collide...“We’re tethered souls, and you’re back where you belong. Where you’ve always belonged.”

Mimi's parents harboured a huge dark secret that if it ever got out could destroy their family to smithereens which was why she told everyone she was from Montana.

Mimi was on her way to spending her summer like usual at a Christian youth camp where she'd been volunteering as a councillor for the past three years. But just as she arrives at her destination she's told by her best friend whom also volunteers that the camp is under quarantine due to an
outbreak of meningitis and everyone was being turned away at the gates.

Just as she was on the verge of texting her mother about the change of plans her eyes locked on a boy whom she recognised as Christina Bear who she hadn't seen or heard from in five years. After speaking to him he mentions that his family is vacationing in the area and that they would love to catch up with her if she has the time.

But not all is what it seems.

"It was no secret that Mimi's biological father, Grizz, had her mother abducted back in 1975. It was no secret that Christian's father, Anthony, had taken his mother Christy.
He'd grown tired of waiting. It was now time for Christian to take what he wanted. And he'd always wanted Mimi."

He's after answers. And nothing and no one was going to get into his way.

These two child hood friends were closer than even siblings, they loved each other before they even knew the true meaning of the word, they had played weddings almost twenty years ago, but they were ripped apart when things in their pasts had to stay hidden. A promise to keep in contact. But even then something would keep them apart.

This was quite simply a beautiful, soul crushing, unique story which had me in it's grip as soon as I started, I loved the unorthodox way Christian Bear re-claimed his childhood friend Mimi, the feels just came rushing at me out of nowhere. The love these two shared was undeniable, it oozed off the pages and shot straight to my heart. How the author incorporated the past and present was breathtaking, it allowed us readers to connect with these two characters on a broader level.

"I felt you in my soul before I knew how to even form words, Mimi. You'e always lived there, warming my cold places, bringing light to my dark spaces."

This authors penmanship is outstanding, she just has such a unique way to her storytelling that speaks to all us readers. I immersed myself in this book and if we'd been taken over by aliens I would've been none the wiser, my head and heart was fully focused on this book, the outside world ceased to exist.

"I never knew how lost I'd been until you found me, Christian. My world wasn't one of darkness or light, but somewhere in between. Dull and without colour. You've brought me into the sunshine and made everything bright."

I can honestly say that this probably became one of my favourites by this author, reading at a snails pace and the three days it took to read this but wishing at the end of it that it was even longer because you didn't want to say goodbye to these characters..Yep that was me..
I loved the sh#t out of this book. All the twists and turns, catching up with past characters and then falling more in love with them made me love this book even more.

The feels were of epic proportions, from their reconnection, to everything after I lapped up everything this author threw at me, I swooned like no other, I giggled like there was no one else in the room, I loved like I'd never loved before.

A beautiful story of a Bad Boy looking for an excuse to be good
This is Christian Bear, who's been "married" to Miriam "Mimi" Hunter since they were 5 & 6. They are Tethered Souls, with invisible bonds so strong, only they both can feel it, ruining them for others.
"I knew when we were children that our souls were tethered. I know you felt it too, but you lost it or forgot it somewhere along the way."
"Our souls have been tethered, and she's always belonged to me".

description

Beth writes like an old soul. Her stories are biographical narratives, mostly in first person, yet it seems like third person recountal. Historical and anecdotal in feel, she manages to build scenes that come alive on her pages like 3D holograms. It's no secret her spellbinding stories have created Phoenixlike characters, Grizz & Ginny "Kit", Tommy Dillon, Anthony Bear, Christy "Owani" Bear, and now Christian and Mimi. There's a common trait that runs through all her character sketches. They all love severely, enough to kill and die for their soul mates, protect them from beyond the grave and sometimes resurrect themselves. The old school MC club is ready to pass the Baton to the younger generation and in this story the young'uns prove that Apples do really fall right next to the trees.
My mother once told me that you could take a man off the street, but you couldn’t take the street out of the man when that was all he’d ever known. He was no longer the leader of a motorcycle club. But he was still a leader who took charge of situations nobody else wanted to address.

description

History has a crazy way of repeating itself and Nature trumps Nurture, at least in Florida Everglades !
What starts as a simple happenstance meeting at the Pine Creek gas station soon turns scarily into abduction for the simple reason that Christian never asks; he takes what he wants.
The ensuing saga unfolds with remarkable twists and turns, secrets' covers get blown open and like Pandora's Box, the worms come crawling out.
Lots and lots of details, camouflaged lifestyles and "Ghostly" encounters later, the wrinkles in the storysheets gets smoothed out.
I loved the beginning, the middle and the end, it's the last 20% that some things seemed a bit too staged and unbelievable to me, hence the lack of half star. Omnipotence is exaggerated and power plays are theatrical, but that's just my opinion. At the end of the day, a Beth Flynn book is a phenomenal and expansive story, not to be missed under any circumstances.
Some of the most memorable scenes and dialogues you'll read here that'll stay with you forever !

4,5 « I am so happy to have their story” stars

First let me give you an excerpt of my chat with Beth Flynn…

Beth: “I hope you like it. It’s not as dark as my other reads. It’s more a coming of age love story. And not a lot of MC. But I am proud of it”.

Me: “Don't worry I love coming of age (I read lots of YA). And being proud of what you write is the MOST important!”

Now I have read it and …adored it! I finished reading hidden in my bedroom far from the kids, the hubs only the dog was allowed to keep me company as she keeps me warm and does not complain.

A little background here.

I consider the Nine Minutes trilogy as THE BEST MC story that I have ever read so far.

Beth is a brilliant writer but what made the series really outstanding was the incredible plotting and scheming. Trust me if you read it you will be amazed and end with your brain fried.

Nine Minutes is about Grizz, the president of an outlaw MC who kidnapped Ginny when she was a teen. Yes yes lots of taboo and dark here. But for as much as he was a killer and feared by everyone Grizz adored Ginny and would have gladly died for her. Together they had a daughter Miriam alias Mimi.

Anthony is a Native American, friend since childhood with Grizz and he ran another MC club for years. He went into landscaping when he met or rather kidnapped (yes, he too) Christy who would later become his wife. They had two sons Slade then Christian and a daughter Daisy.

Oh I forgot to say that Anthony’s name was Bear.

Yes Grizz and Bear I KNOW!

Tethered Souls is about Mimi and Christian.

The kids have their story and I AM SO HAPPY! *sorry lots of shouting here as I tend to be passionate and vocal when I really love a story*.

Something very important to know about this story is that it is about a VERY passionate man, VERY determined to have his woman and a strong independent but really lovable young woman.

Christian Bear is your dream came true if you love bad boy who don’t have a dark heart but “just” love crossing lines. Christian is hotheaded. That could be his middle name. Christian Hotheaded Bear. How does it sound?

Well he is not only hotheaded and determined he is also hot as in sexy as sin. He’s left a trail of broken heart but he could not care less.

Since he’s been a kid the one owning his heart is Mimi.

Push pause now.

Some of the sweetest and swooniest (I know the word did not exist I just invented it because it’s fitting and because I can) scenes were the countless weddings. Imagine two kids from age five and six playing at getting married time and time again. With a ring from the slot machine and Christian’s shirt as veil. You are sighing and have starry eyes! Yes, I’ve seen it!!!!! Don’t pretend otherwise you’re not fooling me.

Suffice to say that when Mimi had to disappear with her family to protect Grizz’s resurrection Christian was devastated. And when Christian is hurting he is angry. And when he is angry he goes into trouble landing him in prison for three years.

Now that he is out of prison he enrolls the help of a geeky friend to track Mimi. No more missed opportunity! He will kidnap her. He wants HIS woman and he is determined to have her. Like father like son…He thinks that she’ll be in his bed within a day like every other woman. Ha! Yes he is deluded as Mimi is strong willed and is not afraid of Christian.

Of course that’s because deep down she juts KNOWS that Christian would never hurt her.

I will stop here with the plot as I don’t want to spoil your fun.

Now when you’ll read Tethered Souls you will:

-swoon. They are both too cute together. They were meant to be and it was time Fate (and other people) stopped conspiring against them!

-fawn yourself as Christian is Uber Alpha, protective, hot and sexy.

-rake your brain to know who “The Ghost” is (Beth you tricked me here as I never guessed!). To guess who is spying on them.

-rejoice because Grizz is back! And because Slade will go out of his shell and let his true self known.

-go all mother hen when you’ll learn Mimi’s secrets (Beth you did not spare the girl here! My heart broke for her).

-want to kick some butts because men are not the worse here! Jealous women can be really ugly.

-pray for one more epilogue with more kids maybe? As in “Christmas at the Bear family ten years later”. Can you do it Beth? Maybe publish it around Thanksgiving or Christmas as your gift? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

-hope that the next story will be about Slade. Is it about Slade Beth?

You did really good Beth! Coming of age love story and all! I floved it once again 😊

Recommend it? Heck YES! But try to read the other books in the series before as to enjoy it completely.

Thank you Beth for my ARC!

Have you read any books by Beth Flynn?
Thanks for reading!

4.5*

Having just finished the incredible Nine Minutes trilogy I skipped The Iron Tiara (now my next read) because I wanted Mimi’s story.

So much has happened to Mimi and she’s sitting on a huge family secret. It’s eating away at her. It’s stopping her from introducing her boyfriend to her family. Well not just her boyfriend but anyone really.

Christian is a whole ball of fury it seems at times that he’s just angry with the world and waiting to explode.

He’s out on parole but can’t forget his childhood friend and teenage obsession Mimi. She left promising to get in touch but it’s 5 years later and not a word.
Inspired by his father and Grizz he decides to kidnap Mimi. Discover why she never contacted him and therefore get her completely out of his system.

Well that’s the plan anyway.

I really enjoyed this book. Christian is like a young Grizz in a lot of ways (I can’t comment on Anthony because I’ve not read his book yet) and he loves Mimi. Anyone familiar with my reviews will know how much I love a book where a character loves another like Christian loves Mimi.

I adore Mimi and Christian together, they balance each other and while it’s not smooth sailing they work.
One thing I loved was the scenes when they were younger. They were so sweet.
We don’t just get Mimi and Christian we also get their parents and families as well.

It’s nearly a 5* read but it had a couple of bits I didn’t really like or understand.

That said I’m really really hoping Slades book is next.

Tethered Souls by Beth Flynn exceeded all of my expectations and then some.

I knew from my love of Beth’s Nine Minutes Trilogy and The Iron Tiara that this woman could write. But I did except for her to completely blow me away all over again. And that is exactly what she did with Tethered Souls.

Tethered Souls follows the lives of Mimi Dillon Hunter and Christian Bear just as they’re both coming into their own. Mimi is about to finish college, and Christian, newly released from prison, has been establishing himself in his club and career.

There’s only one problem; both of them are holding hurt inside of themselves for things that happened in the past. Things that these two friends, who never thought they would be separated, can’t seem to get past.

I love the way Beth lets this story unfold with mystery, suspense, raw honesty, family, friendship, loyalty, and just enough heat to have your cheeks burning! She had me completely wrapped up in not only this storyline, but the depth of emotions these characters are feeling.

Truly a phenomenal read that I’ll be reading over and over again.

I loved Mimi and Christian’s story. Christian, he’s just like Beth’s other heroes; alpha, possessive, and loyal.

Beth Flynn’s storytelling is amazing. She gets me every time with the shocking plot twists.

I’m glad we were given a few scenes with my book husband Grizz!!!! That man... he’s amazing!!!

Plus, all the secondary characters are still pretty awesome and I hope they’ll get their own books, too.

Tethered Souls
By Beth Flynn
5 Kiwi Diet Stars!!!

To say I’ve been waiting for Christian and Mimi’s story would be an understatement. I’ve been stalking for this release…Refreshing the kindle non-stop. I knew their story would be a whirl wind!!! One full of secrets being revealed, hearts being broken, but best of all their story…

One that deserved to be told…

From that first day on the playground when vows were exchanged, these two have been Tethered Souls . The invisible string that tied their hearts together. One can not break the string if one can not see it. It’s embedded deep inside their hearts bonding them together.

But as life happens, so does separation. These two were forced apart, miles and miles drove their lives in different directions. But that string…It was always there…

They say that ‘apples don’t fall far from the tree’…

Christian is heading towards self destruction… Mimi is just about to graduate from college…

The apple falls…

What a STORY!!! Beth Flynn has certainly outdone herself with this Spin-off, Standalone story. One that has opened my eyes on eating disorders, Bullying, Racial profiling, Religious beliefs and much, much more. All perfectly woven into a story that was a page turner from the very first page!!!

"He’s shattered my heart into a million pieces."

Beth Flynn is an incredibly creative storyteller. She has a very unique way with words and 'Tethered Souls' is very original. Although I would not say it is a traditional MC romance, the characters are mostly all from the 'Nine Minutes' series (one of my favorites - A MUST-READ!!). That being said, this book can be read as a standalone. And if you are a fan of Beth Flynn's other books, then you will LOVE Mimi and Christian's story and this book will fill your craving for these unforgettable characters.

What could be more satisfying than a story about the children of Kit, Grizz, Bear and Christy? As with most of these characters, Mimi has lived most of her life living with secrets. She's in college now but has never forgotten about Christian Bear. I loved how this book alternated between the past in South Florida and the present in North Carolina, two places that the author knows well. Although separated by time and distance, Mimi and Christian meet again under VERY unusual circumstances. It is very clear that these two still love each other deeply and no one can ever keep them apart again.

“We’re tethered souls, and you’re back where you belong. Where you’ve always belonged.”

Beth Flynn has layered several storylines here, and the plot kept me guessing and intrigued until the very end. I wasn't sure who could be trusted or where the story was going to end up. I loved reading about Christian's brother Slade and loved seeing all the other characters that I have come to love from the 'Nine Minutes' series. This is a gritty love story, with very real characters and very real settings and very real emotions.

Somewhere in there my emotions were everywhere and i didn't even know what i was. This book was amazing. Such an amazing little spin off. I wanted more, i never wanted it to end. So romantic, i got swooned a thousand times. Chemistry was off the hook and so addictive. Loved every minute of it. Read this amazing book. It'll worth all your time and money!!!

Can I give it more than 5 stars it sure deserves them 10 +++ for me?

This book has had my emotions all over the place, it was all I wanted and so much more.
Since I finished A Gift of Time, I have waited patiently for this Mimi and Christian’s book.
It was just perfect I loved everything about the story I loved these characters no matter what they do you cannot hate them at all.
I have to say Beth has blown me away with this book she wraps you up in these characters so much you feel like you know them and that you are right there with them. The depth of emotions you feel coming from the characters as you are reading. Argghh it was just perfect, fantastic, amazing I don't have the right words to do this book justice.

I am not going to go into the story. However, if you have read the nine minutes series you will already know a bit about it.
This story will have you turning the pages have your heart thumping. The Chemistry these two characters have for each other they are true soul mates.

Oh, and can I just say that epilogue was and is the sweetest ones I have ever read and brought happy tears to my eyes.

Beth your writing is phenomenal in this book, I have loved every minute of this story, and it will be one of my top five reads for 2018. I will be recommending it to everyone I know just as I did with nine minutes.

I’m a huge Beth Flynn fan and love her books. Couldn’t wait to read Christian and Mimi’s story and it didn’t disappoint.

If I had read this book on its own it would have been 4 stars, in my case, after hard-core loving the previous books, getting the familiar sense of environment, revisiting beloved characters and getting to see Mimi & Christian bloom, this becomes a 5 star with lots of points for sentimental value.

Also, are we maybe getting a Slade book later on??

Beth Flynn has crafted another brilliant story, told in her unique style that kept the pages turning and my heart-pounding for the next piece of the puzzle. Intricate and moving, Tethered Souls is the story of faith, hope, and a love so powerful even fate couldn’t keep it down.

I love the Nine Minutes series, and the Iron Tiara so I was eagerly anticipating the story of Christian and Mimi. Although this book is a standalone there are a lot of familiar faces and I cannot recommend the other books enough!

Mimi and Christian knew each other in childhood, but for reasons that will become clear they moved apart Mimi is at College, Christian is on Parole but he has decided enough is enough and he is going to find her and get some answers, no matter what it takes.

I love that this book is sweeter and more gentle in a way than the trilogy, but still with the gritty undertone of the biker world. Its a hefty book, to be savoured. Mimi is a kind person, with a strong moral code but fierce and feisty when challenged. Christian is an outright Alpha, but Mimi brings out his softer side. I dont want to give any spoilers so I will just say enjoy the ride, there are a few surprises along the way.

i really enjoyed this read, and it made me nostalgic for the original series, I may have to read it again!

Tethered Souls by Beth Flynn
Mimi is about to finish college. She has stayed off the raider as much as possible to protect her family secrets. When she leaves college to go to on camp, the last thing she expects, is to run into Christian Bear. Christian Bear, newly released from prison is about to turn Mimi’s world upside down. He seems to be a mix of Anthony Bear and Grizz all in one and you will love his alpha and very dominant character. When they were young they were best friends and always believed they would be together. Can they rekindle their friendship? Or has too much happened in the past for them to move forward? We get to see glimpses of Grizz and Kit as well as other secondary characters. Mimi and Christian are the main characters and the story will grip you from page one. Ms Flynn is so talented in making us fall in love with all her characters, as well as capturing you from page one with enough suspense, tension and conflict. She forces her characters to change when secrets and surprises are thrown in, along with some dangerous plot twists. Her writing and storytelling is unique and so very Beth Flynn. The depth of emotions you feel is raw. I can wholeheartedly say that this book ticked all my right boxes and had everything I loved in a great read. From a good plot, nice narrative flow, adorable characters, great drama and a beautiful ending and just enough left over to hint that Slade should get his own story as well. If you were a lover of the Nine Minutes Trilogy, then you are going to love this one. I highly recommended Tethered Souls.

Final Score - 5 Knightly Stars!

Tethered Souls is a spin-off of the Nine Minutes trilogy that follows the lives of Mimi and Christian, their hopes and dreams, their lives after the events in the previous books, and how they are both struggling to find their place in the world at large - and if that includes with one another. There’s a lot of hurt between these two, promises made that were broken. A friendship left in tattered ruins. Separated by not only distance but by unknown forces, can these two heal the others hearts and move forward?

Beth Flynn has done it again. Sucked me in and given me (and us, her readers) a mystery to solve - and boy is it a juicy one! No one weaves a better mystery and mixes suspense like she does. I was scratching my head nonstop with this one and the final reveal was VERY revealing. I was stumped! I am completely in awe of her talent and ability write with such emotion and honesty, a solid sense of family and friendship, and still manage to write love scenes that leave you breathless.

Truly a phenomenal read that has surpassed all expectations. I just know that will re-reading this one is the not too distant future.

My lord, this lady and her books... I don't know what it is... It always takes me several days to finish her books. On one side of the spectrum, I'm just ready to be done... But at the same time, I don't want it to end because I've gotten soo attached to these characters and this world. The Nine Minutes trilogy is one of my all time favorite series. Beth Flynn is also one of my absolute favorite authors; as I say in every review, I LOVE her writing. It literally makes me feel like I'm inside the story and it's playing out right in front of me. She makes sure everything is described so nothing is left out to question. I just can't when it comes to her books...
I love how well she plays with our emotions... Not only are we meeting Mimi when she's older and what has gone on so far in her life... As well as Christian... But this deals with some serious issues that thousands deal with daily.
Christian and Mimi are adorable - they've been friends since childhood and these are some of my absolute kinds of romances. I loved this book. I love this series. I love Beth Flynn. Go read Tethered Souls now. If you haven't read Nine Minutes, go read it first... Read all 3 and The Iron Tiara, THEN read Tethered Souls.

I’ve been a real bad girl. Another series that I read out of order. With this series, it would be helpful to start at the beginning as there are too many characters and storylines to understand that drives some of this story. But if you must, you can read as a stand alone with maybe some review of the blurbs from past books.
Now, to the book.
I gotta say, if this story is the way the previous books story arc progressed, this possibly falls in line??? But if you are jumping in like me, then well, there’s all kinda fucked up with this story. From beginning to end. It took me a while to decipher why this was told from so many POVs and plots that were kinda incomplete so.....the abduction and subsequent explanation, unrash decisions, various characters incomplete thoughts, interactions with past despicable characters. Lots going on, and a bit haphazard.

As for the romance, it’s fast, beyond insta-fast, like less than a week and bam we’re getting married like now. I frankly wouldn’t have been so trusting and people wouldn’t have been so believable given who they were and all the implications being thrown around. It was okay, a lot of it was hard to wrap your head around. Interesting story, but I’m definitely going to go read the trilogy.

4.25 stars. Tethered Souls is a spinoff novel to Beth Flynn's Nine Minutes trilogy and follow's Mimi and Christian. Even though it's a standalone, you should definitely read the Nine Minutes trilogy first. Not only because it's will be easier to follow, as there are lots of references to past stories, but because Nine Minutes is amazing!!!!! I will never get enough Kit and Grizz. Beth Flynn is such a talented writer that is able to pack so much into a story. Her stories are riveting and powerful.

Mimi is the daughter of Kat and Grizz and Christian is the son of Christy and Anthony. They start as childhood friends and start to form feelings for one another, but are separated as teenagers when Mimi and her family move away into isolation. This is a unique somewhat second chance love story full of secrets, grit, and tenderness. I love how Beth Flynn always brings her stories full circle by revealing to the reader the meaning and symbolism behind nicknames, phrases, and objects. It always leaves me with such a full heart.

One soul recognizes its true mate. Some of us are lucky to find 'The One' and hold it in precious care for a lifetime. Some of us are lucky to find more than just 'One' to grace us with their presence in our lives. This story is about 'The One' you are luckily enough to meet as a child and later recognize the call of it's twin never has faltered - just grown stronger.

I've been a fan of Beth Flynn's storytelling. She has a unique voice that blends past with present that you feel the connections over time. Tethered Souls brings me back to how I fell in love with this voice. Nine Minutes has always remained my favorite - Iron Tiara runs a super close second. Christian and Mimi's story brings me back to the draw I found in book 1. It was the connection of Kit and Grizz that leaped off the page and into my soul that has the HEA lover believe in union of 'The One'. Ms Flynn once again has me believing in this pact beyond just love but soulmates in Christian and Mimi.

But beyond an unrequited love story of second chances, Beth Flynn brings in layers of storytelling where mystery shrouds even the smallest of events. All is never what it seems on the surface and has the reader turning the pages to learn more.

Can this be read as a standalone? Definitely. Not that I encourage the skipping of the Nine Minutes trilogy, but this story has it's own feet to firmly stand upon. Whether or not you are a first time reader or long time fan, I highly recommend you pick up and devour this story today. 5 out of 5 stars
