I saw Perrier Simmons and I knew that she would be mine one day. I didn't know how or why, but I was sure in my bones that the smart, beautiful, and talented woman had changed my life. We know pain, and we know grief, and we had to know each other.

The only problem is our paths threaten to tear us apart, and there is no telling how far. Even if we were a galaxy away, I would never change a thing--
Perrier is going to be mine.

The Brightest Night is the beginning, to a story about what it means to love with your soul, to sacrifice, to experience grief, and blinding joy. To live life with the pain and the beauty; without knowing if you will be able to smile through tears and still know you wouldn't have changed a thing.

It was a bright summer day at UCSF medical school when Thom Edwards and Perrier Simmons met…

Thom Edwards was the strikingly handsome, enigmatic med student. Even with the events of his past in the years behind him, he has never met a challenge quite like this…like her.

Perrier Simmons doesn’t believe in unconditional love, or the fairy-tale relationships that come with it. She had to learn this the hard way, and with medical school and her career ahead of her, the temptation isn't an option.

When Thom makes his intentions known, Perrier is not quick to succumb to them; not even her true feelings are enough to make her let go and fall…in love and in hope. Knowing the threat of seperation would come at the end of medical school, and how possible it was for their love to destroy them both, they still developed something that would not be easily broken.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is a heartfelt romance about a woman learning to fall in love and at the same time learning to hope. This is my first book by this author and I certainly will be looking up more of hers. I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what the second book will bring us. I loved how this author was able to pull me into the story from the first chapter. She made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Her characters are both connectable and lovable. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that I needed to see what would happen next. This story is easy flowing and fast paced. This is a story about Thom and Perrier. Thom has a past that he has put behind him. Through all of his challenges in life this is the first time that he is faced with a challenge like her. Perrier is a woman who doesn't believe in fairy tale romances nor that love is unconditional. With her career in the medical field, she has made sure that she has no time for such nonsense. What she wasn't expecting was him to show up in her life. He has made known how he really feels despite what she says. Will she give in to him and give love a chance? One problem that they face is that at the end of the semester they will go their own ways. Will they regret love? Will they regret the hurt? Will fate have something else in store for them? Will the bond they have be strong enough to save both hearts? I enjoyed both of these characters. They are so real to life that I could see myself being friends with both of them. I felt bad for Perrier, she really does seem to be lost. I kept hoping that he would be able to figure out a way to save her. I found myself hoping that they would get their happy ending. They really are great together and have such great chemistry. They will pull at your heart strings and maybe even shed a couple of tears like I did. This really is a good romance that will warm your soul. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens with Thom and Perrier and if it is possible to find love and hope.

Together we forged a rock from the hard gravel, building and building until we were a rolling certainty. Of what, I didn’t know. Possibly everything. I knew it was right, between us it was perfect. I never wanted to be parted from him again.

His eyes were on mine, staring into my very soul. And I let him in. I should have long ago, but finally, I accepted what this was.

What we were--

Everything.

This was s the first book in a series and when the story ended I was hopeful that the next book was already published (it is not). I'm looking forward to seeing the protagonists continue to grow in their practice of choice.

Thom (the h is silent) and Perrier (yes like the water) meet in med school and we get to follow them from M1 to M4.

This book is a little different than most slow burns because there is no doubt of each other's feelings, it is how they deal with it that is a refreshing change. The dialog flows well, the timeline moves quickly, and the story left me wanting to read more.

My only complaint is the amount of sex scenes. After the first two, I found myself skimming through the rest of them. It didn't take away from the overall feel of the story, but didn't add to it (for me) either.

I look forward to the next book.

Definitely an all up in your feelings book. Thom and Perrie are a slow burning love. Neither of them really want to take the leap but Thom can't stop himself. Perrie is scared to feel love. It just doesn't exist. I loved how the author developed their friendship and how the characters grew as the book went on. My heart definitely got engaged with these two. Not a fan of the ending but it wasn't totally unexpected. Patiently waiting for the next book.

The Brightest Night
By: Bri Stone
4 out of 5 stars

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is the first book in a series. This book ends with a cliffhanger that will having you counting the days till the next release. I loved the cover of this book it captured my attention and had me curious about what lies within. Bri has written an heartfelt, emotion and engaging romance story. A story that causes us to hope and being open to love. A slow burn story that is perfectly paced to captivate page by page. I’m looking forward to reading more by Bri Stone.
Thom has had a past full of challenges! That he has chosen not to allow his past to dictate his future. Perrier believes she has total control over her life. She doesn’t have time for love nor does she really believe in it. Focus and determined to succeed is her mindset. Thom and Perrier meet in Medical school. We follow them on this journey as they become friends but both aware of the chemistry that lives between them. Perrier is determined to keep Thom in the friend category she does not want to allow Thom in her heart. Thom is not so easily put off he is patient and hopeful and used to overcoming obstacles in his life.
Bri Stone does a amazing job of writing a story that builds with each page. Twist and turns that are a surprise only add to the greatness of this story. Hot and steamy sex is always an add plus. Bri writing keeps us engage as she introduce us to character that are easy to connect with and a book that doesn’t leave you forgetting what you read on the previous pages (some slow burns never spark). I highly recommend you read the Brightest Night and be prepared to add Bri to your TBR list.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone

5 Stars

Well ok, so I knew it was going to end in a cliffhanger because i read other reviews but thankfully it's not the kind of cliffhanger that has you taking your kindle out to the driveway and running over it 40 times with your car. This was a great story and I loved Thom and Perrier (Perrie), I loved how their relationship grew slowly yet completely. Both of them fighting so much sadness in their lives and so scared of losing people they love, which is why it was a slow developing relationship. Both being in med school and her totally focussed on her studies with no time for any distractions, Thom had his work cut out for him getting close to her. I think Thom and Perrie’s friendship is my favorite part of this story, I love how it grew and strengthened.

This was a slow starter for me but once I got into it I was hooked and now can't believe I have to wait to see what lies in store for these two. I also loved Melinda, she was so funny but I see a story there and Im hoping that her friendship with Thom and Perrie continues somehow and there is more to come with her. I loved the instant bond that was formed between her and Perrie and the back and forth with her and Thom is hilarious.

The little twist towards the end threw me for a loop, I just never saw that coming or that Perrie was even thinking that way...There's so much more to come for this story and I can not wait. Ill admit though Im a bit worried for Thom and Perrie. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Awesome book with awesome writing, this is my first book by this author and I can't wait to see what else she has available.

The Brightest Night By Bri Stone 5 Stars

This is the first book I have read by Bri Stone. It is an emotional ride from the first page. Have your tissues handy. Perrier and Thom are a dynamic duo! They met the first day of medical school. They became best friends quickly, but Perrier wasn't looking for more. All her focus needed to be on medical school and there was no room for distractions. Although they spent everyday together, studying or having dinner, she said no to every attempt of a date Thom asked her for. After a year, they are inseparable and realize this is more than just friendly feelings they were having towards each other. They fell instep with each other quickly and easily. They enjoyed spending time with one another and tried to ignore the sparks that flew between them for as long as they could. Even before their first kiss, they started falling head over heels for each other. The feelings that was blossoming between them seemed to grow easily with each day passing.
They both had high aspersions about why they wanted to go to medical school. The reasons were similar, yet they were worlds apart on the final goal. Perrier wanted to solve the mystery of sudden death and Thom wanted to prevent death and cure long term diseases. Neither one looking for love, although it found them. They were in deep, but the struggles of a relationship, failure, and school reared their ugly heads.
This is a great romance filled story. It is sweet, romantic, and emotional. This novel has everything you could ask for in a romance novel. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story about romance between a college couple.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is book one of The Brightest Duet. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I was immediately hooked as soon as I started reading. This book instantly pulls you in to Thom and Perrier’s story. I couldn’t stop reading and finished in in one sitting. I can’t wait for book two!!

Thom and Perrier are starting med school after both dealing with some personal tragedies in their past. Thom is good at conquering challenges he faces. Growing up with asthma has made sure of that. Perrier presents a different set of challenges though. Perrier doesn’t want distractions or temptations. She needs to get through med school and move on to her career. When it seems like all is finally settled and challenge free, their futures loom and present new challenges. Will their paths separate them or will they be able to conquer together?

This book is only the beginning of Thom and Perrier’s story. This book is about struggling with grief, letting yourself feel joy, learning to compromise and even sacrifice. For most of the book, I was really unsure how the events would unfold, and there is even a slight plot twist to really grab your attention with subtle hints throughout. I really can’t wait to see where book two takes us!

This is the first book I've read from this author and I was not disappointed in the least with this book. It's a slow burn romance novel that will burn you right to your core in the best way of course. The whole resisting love thing is definitely a good piece to the plot. I enjoyed the characters as well in this story. I'm going to be honest though I do hate cliff hangers, but I can't wait for the next book to see what's next.

The Brightest Night
By Bri Stone
5 stars

I LOVED this story! Absolutely LOVED it! I loved that the blurb didn’t really give much away about what to expect in the story so I had no preconceptions going in. It was almost like a blind date with a book! What I can say is that it was well worth the read! It was well written, the pace was good and I cannot wait to see what part 2 will bring. I really liked the main characters Perrier and Thom, I really could feel the genuine connection between them. I kind of could see Perrier’s point of view and why she kept pushing Thom away – however I really desperately wanted them to work everything out as they seemed pretty perfect together.
I think what made this story a 5 star for me was the depth of emotion that the author put into the characters. I honestly felt like I was going on their journey right along with them. I really felt that they were both genuine characters and I found that I felt a greater connection with them because of how well thought out they were. I am really looking forward to the next part and the continuation of their story!

The Brightest Night- Bri Stone

4-star review

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is a slow burn romance read. It's full of detail, emotion and intrigue. The two main characters, Perrier and Thom, have a really intense connection, one you can feel just by reading. I loved Thom he was funny, charming, thoughtful and very persistent. Never giving up what he wants most, Perrier. Perrier is a serious young woman, whose brilliant and driven but also full of excuses. She doesn't want to risk having a relationship that could get in the way of her dream goal.

The chemistry between the two of them was extra hot and felt so real and genuine. I really enjoyed that we got to experience their friendship and relationship build over a few years, though there are a couple gap years where I felt like I missed out on some of their relationship development, which was disappointing but only because I wanted more of them.

Since this is the first book in the Brightest Night Duet it ended in a cliffhanger which left me with all kinds of questions, but I can't wait to get the answers to them once book two is released.

The Brightest Night: Book One in The Brightness Duet by Bri Stone
4 out of 5 stars
This sweet romance novel is a deep, slow burning novel. I adored every page of this book. This is a new author for me but book 2 is already on my Must Read List. Thom and Perrier are some very fanciful characters. First off, who doesn’t love the name Perrier? I fell in love with her just by her name alone, although I did feel as if she was a bit lost at times. A person who is that driven and focus can become so overwhelmed with the desire to just start and end each day, it can be very lonely and yet daunting at the same time. Thom is interesting on his own and I will be honest, it took me a bit to warm up to him. I was a bit on edge with his attitude and his gruffiness...is that a word? Regardless, The ending of this book does answer a lot of questions while allowing a lot of room for the second book to pick up. This was a nicely paced book, things happened at the perfect moment and I did not feel at any time as if I was just waiting for something to occur or that too many things were going on at once. This was a great read!

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is the first book in her new series, The Brightness Duet, and it was a fantastic starter for this series. The Brightest night follows the story of a woman learning to fall in love again and the man who will do anything to make sure she doesn't fall. Thom and Perrier's story will take you an emotional roller coaster ride, all while making you want to know everything and anything about them. Thom has a sketchy past that is something that haunts him every day, but he is working to put it behind him if he can, while Perrier is a woman who is jaded from fairy tales and happily ever afters. With her job in the medical field, she has seen all too often how the endings aren't so happy, and that has gotten in the way of her finding the perfect man for her. Will these two be able to work together to find happiness? I have read several of Stone's books in the past and was so excited to see a new series by her, and I was not disappointed. Her writing is excellent, her characters are perfect and the story lines pull you in from page one. If you are looking for a great weekend read this is the book for you.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is a well written romance between Thom and Perrier. Thom is a man with a past that he has tried to put behind him after entering medical school and Perrier is a woman that is so focused on her dream that she doesn’t allow for the time for romance. When these two meet the sparks fly right away but Perrier is determined to ignore the growing feelings she has for Thom. Thom simply refuses to give up on what he wants and with the end of the year looming and threatening to pull them away from each other time is running out.

I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to see the main characters be attracted to each other but not immediately fall into bed together. The buildup of their relationship was rather nice and felt natural. The book was well written and the pace was quick enough to keep me interested but not so fast that it felt rushed. The characters were all really well thought out and each seemed like a living person instead of one that only resides in the authors’ imagination. Definitely giving this book a well-deserved four star rating.

This is the first book I have read by Bri Stone, but it definitely isn't the last.
Thom and Perrier start Med school at the same time and the story takes us through their first four years.
This is a slow burn, but burn it does. Thom knows how he feels about Perrier, but she resists and tries to keep him in the friend zone. Once she admits her love for him, she still doesn't believe that they will last through the separation that will inevitably come.
The characters are wonderful and easy to relate to. They both have things in their past they have to let go and Perrier must learn to have faith in their relationship. Does she? It remains to be seen and boy, I'm eagerly awaiting the second part of their story. I'm sure there will be some major obstacles to overcome, but as a couple they are so lovely.
I loved how the friendship slowly evolved into love and I really enjoyed the humour injected into their story.
The pace was great and the story well told; full of the angst and emotion that was really necessary to the story.
Bring on part 2!

The Brightest Night written by Bri Stone

“Let people in, we weren’t built to be alone.”

This book holds a lot of emotion, growth, self healing, acceptance, secrets, trust, passion, grief and fear.

When you are so busy burying down your fears, regret and worries can you move forward with a new healthy relationship? Will your past mistakes repeat? Can you forgive yourself? Will your secrets destroy what walls you finally let fall?

“When I released him, it was like a part of me was gone. The look he gave me was wrenching—he knew I was lying. But he still left.”

Can you be honest with others when you’re not even honest with yourself? It’s hard to believe in yourself sometimes, but when you see yourself the way others do it gives you hope. It’s not easy, but sometimes you just have to let it all go and try.

“…love isn’t a pretty, straight ribbon of shining happiness. It is unforgiving and unpredictable and takes no prisoners.”

I can not wait for the second book in this duet since Bri left us hanging on a cliff wanting more...

The Brightest Night by Bri stone is the first book in the Brightness Duet series. From page one to the last I was hooked. Who doesn’t love books where one fights the feelings while the other refuses to give up? This amazing and wonderfully written romance shows you that within the darkness light can be found! Bri stone has given us book one and I can’t wait to get more in this series and fall just like I did with this book.
Thom always gets what he wants and when he meets Perrier, he knows that its her he wants and doesn’t hold back showing and telling her she is what she wants. Perrier just wants to finish school and Thom is a distraction she doesn’t need. While she knows she wants him and has feelings her future in school is what needs her attention. When paths have to be traveled alone, will love keep them together?
This book, so wonderfully written shows there is hope when hope is gone and love will save you. Bri Stone has given us readers an amazing start to what I feel will be a great series! I can not wait to read more! WELL DONE!

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone was definitely what I expected. But I am very glad I read it and could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. This the story of Thom and Perrier. They are both medical students at UCSF. Perrier does not believe in all that love at first sight stories. Thom knew how he felt about Perrier, but she wants to part of it. Thom will not give up. The journey that Perrier and Thom take is definitely not easy and rocky at times. What is going to happen when they graduate and may have to go in different directions?

What a great start to this new series The Brightest Night Duet. Bri Stone has a way with her words when she is telling a story. Her writing is very descriptive and very believable and emotion filled. The characters were well developed and you truly believed in them. They felt like people I would be friends with. You are cheering for them. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series!

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is the first book in her Brightest Night Duet. This is my first book by this author but I am looking forward to reading part 2 of this series.

Perrier and Thom are both medical students. When they meet their chemistry is instant but Perrier keeps her heart hidden. As far as she is concerned nothing good can come of their pairing except heartbreak at the end when they have to go their separate ways, careers dictating where they end up.
Thom however is determined to make her see that it isn’t an either or situation. If they try hard enough why can’t they have everything?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The blurb didn’t give away much and so I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it but I enjoyed the story and the way it was written. I thought that Perrier and Thom worked well together, and I was convinced by their story. I am looking forward to seeing how this concludes in part 2!

The Brightest Night was a good 4 star read.

Perrier is determined to keep her mind on her studies while in Med school. When she meets Thom he has other plans. Perrier holds her ground and for a year they study and go on non-dates. After her sister convinces her to finally go out on a real date she goes for it.

These two have great chemistry and were perfect for each other. The sex scenes were hot and steamy. Can they have more after the semester ends? Can they move forward from their pasts and find a HEA?

The secondary characters added a great element to the story. My favorite was Melinda, I had some LOL moments with her. We also get some twists that threw me off a little. This is my first read from this author and I was pulled right in and couldn’t stop until I was done. We do end on a cliff-hanger so I’m impatiently waiting for the next book in the series. I need to know where their story is going.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is a wonderful romance story. I am not usually a “romance fan” but I have to say that Bri Stone is a wonderful writer. She captured my attention in the first chapter and I have become a fan of Bri Stone. Her writing skills are amazing. She writes so that you feel you are from the little town she is writing about. Her two main characters feel like your next store neighbors. Thom and Perrier are two people who meet in med. School. They were happy together. Perrier could not see their relationship go the distance so she put on the brakes. There are challenges that happen in every relationship. Perrier and Thom both need to open their heart up so they could fill it with one another. As a reader you can feel the tension and the love with each other. My only question I have is will they be strong enough to make this relationship work? I cannot wait to read the second book.

The Brightest Night is the first book in the Brightest Night Duet by Bri Stone. This is my first book by this author, and I am happy to say that it won’t be the last. This is a New Adult Romance.
This story follows Thom and Perrier who meet on the first day at college, and we get a front row seat to their four years at med school. Thom knows what he wants and that’s Perrier, he makes his feelings known, but she resists his advances and tries to remain just friends. But she does have feeling for him, she just doesn’t believe they will last the distance. Plus, they both carry some baggage from their past that they will need to deal with.
Will she trust Thom and herself enough to put a little faith in him and their relationship?
This was a great start to the duet and I can’t wait to continue the story in book two.

Thank you, Ms. Stone!

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone
Four Stars

The Brightest Night is the first book in The Brightness Duet by Bri Stone. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This romance was easy flowing and fast paced. The characters are realistic and had a way of pulling you into the story. Perrier is strong woman, who just doesn’t have time for love with the map she has set for her life. Thom is putting his past behind him and entering a new phase of his life. When these two meet at medical school the chemistry starts happening, but are they too hard or jaded to let thing progress between each other? You need to pick up this story to find out if these two will come together or drift apart. You definitely won’t be disappointed. I really look forward to reading more of this author and series.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is a book I enjoyed but hated at the same time. I have no patience and I hate the fact that I have to wait to find out what happens with Perri and Thom and how their story ends.

Perri has finally made it to Medical School and that is all she is focused on until she meets Thom on day one of class. She had no idea how important he would become to her when she was bound and determined to keep her focus only on school. Thom is a hot, sweet and willing to do anything and everything to be all Perri needs but is happy to be friends if that is all she wants and after a lot of persistence it pays off for him.

I was so happy to have something I had the feeling about confirmed close to the end of the book but I still have some questions that I hope get answered in the next book. I don't see a release date yet but you better believe I will be looking for it.

Let me start by saying this is a good book, and a lot of people will absolutely love it. I enjoyed reading this book for the most part but felt the storyline could have been developed more.

The first half of the book focuses on Perrie and Thom as they build a friendship and Perrie turns him down repeatedly when he asks her out. When she finally realizes how she feels and says yes to a date, she overthinks it and almost doesn’t show.

Thom has Asthma and in the past when a potential love interest found out they didn’t stick around. Then there was Perrie. He didn’t know why he was drawn to her but he was. So he got to know her. Was rejected by her multiple times and then she gave in and he was done for.

A good quick read for those who enjoy a lot of steam.

The Brightest Night by Bri Stone is well written with so much emotion. The depth of emotion that the Bri writes with and invests in her characters makes you feel like you are walking in their footsteps right along with them. It is a romance that slowly burns until it sizzles. The chemistry between the two main characters is electrifying, hot and steamy as we watch them grow together from friends to a relationship, even though there were often obstacles in their way.

Perrier and Thom are meant to be but will their paths take them away from each other or will it only make them stronger? Will love be enough to keep them together?

I am really looking forward to the continuation of their story. What I can say is that it was well worth the read!

This was my first read by Bri Stone, and it certainly won't be my last. I actually can't wait for the next volume of this pair.

This book is a heart warming and simmers throughout. I actually loved the pace of this book, Stone made it work . despite simmering throughout, I was hooked from begining until end.

The charecters were not only relatable but very loveable also. It was rather easy to connect with both Thom and Perrier.

Although overall this simmered throughout, there was quite a plot twist that caused a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.

I assumed that there would be a cliffhanger since it is Volume 1, thankfully it wasn't as bad as I assumed it would be.

I give The Brightest Night by Bri Stone 5 stars, and I highly recommend it.
