Bachelor #1

The Girl Of His Dreams

Rate this book
He was convinced he'd be a bachelor for life. And then he met the girl of his dreams.

Jordan Reeves has fully embraced the carefree, uncomplicated bachelor life, figuring that the poor example he'd been provided by his parents of so-called marital bliss was reason enough to remain single. He's more than content to date one woman after another and never even consider settling down, especially since the only female who's ever seriously caught his attention belongs to another man.

But during a vacation in Hawaii, Jordan unexpectedly meets a woman who could very easily change his mind about the joys of bachelorhood. Aubrey Larson is young, gorgeous, fun-loving, and has a wicked sense of humor to match his own. She's also a dead ringer for the woman Jordan's had an admitted crush on for the past few years, enough to be mistaken for her twin.
Aubrey recognizes the handsome Doctor Reeves as a player of epic proportions the first time they meet, but even her usual disdain for that type of male can't diminish the overwhelming attraction she feels for him. But as their relationship deepens, Aubrey has no idea that becoming involved with Jordan will lead to a startling discovery about her own past, and cause her to question his true feelings for her.

What a fun, sexy, romantic, and lighthearted tale! A perfect read to start off the summer reading season, especially since part of the story is set in Maui. I loved the chemistry and flirty banter between Jordan and Aubrey, adored her roommates and his best friends (and can't wait for Finn's and Max's story and wouldn't mind learning more about Melanie, either). And it was a special treat to visit with my favorite romance couple - Tessa and Ian - again in this story. Unlike a couple of other rather unkind reviewers, I for one can't get enough of this fairytale couple.

I would highly recommend this book for those who want a great romantic comedy sort of book. Put it at the top or your beach reads this summer!

One of the things I love most about books by Janet Nissenson is how sweet her stories are. The Girl of His Dreams was full of swoons, humor, and romantic love.

Jordan was a confirmed bachelor. He hadn't met a relationship that he liked. As a matter of fact, this man had no clue what a relationship was. It didn't help that he was not-so-secretly in love with a woman who was happily married and in love with her husband. Hoping to just 'get over it', he embarks on a vacation to Hawaii to get his groove back. Coincidence or not, he gets a glimpse of Aubrey and he's immediately fixated because she's a dead ringer for the crush he left behind. Aubrey didn't immediately fall prey to his charms, but Jordan was simply irresistible and these two started bumping pretties soon after they met. Hearts get involved and although Jordan has to go home eventually, neither one of them wants what they have to end. So what happens to the love when they get back to the real world?

Reading this book was similar to watching a romantic comedy. I could very easily see this story play out in a movie. It was light, fun, and had enough drama to keep it entertaining!

The Girl of His Dreams by Janet Nissenson is book One in the Bachelor series. This is the story of Jordan Reeves and Aubrey Larson.
Jordan is a confirm bachelor not into relationships...except for the one women he thinks he loves. But she is happily married. Trying to move forward and clear his mind he goes to Hawaii and happens to catch a glimpse of Aubrey who is on twin like in her looks to the women he thinks he loves. Jordan goes forward to get to know Aubrey. Aubrey works in Hawaii so she isn't buying what he is trying to do with her. But they slowly start to work out their attraction but can this attraction be something serious?
Big fan of Ms. Nissenson work...so this book was just a joy to read!!

What a wonderful story!! I loved Jordan aka Dr. Dreamboat when he would appear in the Splendor series, but having his own book, I think i might love him even more than Ian. Jordan and Aubrey's story isn't epic like the Splendor series, but it is no less amazing and wonderful in my opinion. I love the way Janet Nissenson write's her books, they are so descriptive that it plays out like a movie in my mind as I read and the characters are like old friends you haven't seen in a while, but you fall right back where you left off. I can't wait to read the next books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Adored this book so much! Both sexy and funny, and with some really touching scenes, too. Aubrey is a great heroine, feisty and confident but also has some insecurities to deal with. I've loved Jordan since he made a brief appearance in Serendipity and then in the Splendor trilogy, and he didn't disappoint. I like stories about reformed rakes and when he met Aubrey he knew she was the one and didn't waste anytime in letting her know. I loved Aubrey's roommates and hope to read more about them at some point. And of course I can't wait for Finn and Max to have their stories told. All in all, a great read, with the usual sort of incredible writing and characters that I've come to expect from one of Janet's books.

I honestly cannot remember a time where I’ve thoroughly enjoyed a book as much as this one. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. But this is what Ms. Nissenson’s does with her books. With her characters. You never read them, you live through her words.

Jordan Reeves aka Doctor Dreamboat loves the ladies. And the ladies sure love him. He’s pretty well known for his Bachelor status. And he has no intentions of changing that. That is until he sets his sights on Aubrey Larson during a vacation trip. While she reminds him briefly of someone, he quickly learns that that similarities end at the physical appearance. Aubrey is feisty, sexy, and not afraid to speak the truth and call him out when she sees fit. He’s determined to get her to dinner. And he does not stop until she finally says yes!

There’s an intensity between Aubrey and Jordan. Their connection is fire on the pages. Palpable. Profound. Jordan’s love for Aubrey will leave you breathless. His love is manifested in the way he speaks. His actions. His love is bold. Fierce. He also loves with laughter and joy. This book was the perfect union of romance, passion, and humor. But when Jordan fails to be honest with Aubrey, it could cost him the very thing that he thought he would never find in life. Her love.

One of my favorite things about this book is the writing. The author holds nothing back as she delivers a heartfelt narrative on love and fate. And the importance of truth in love. The execution of the story was flawless in the tangible and honest narrative of Aubrey and Jordan’s journey to love. This is not my first book by this author. With every new book of hers I am blown away by her talent of remarkable storytelling. There are some twists in this book that adds exciting layers and depth to the storyline. Ms. Nissenson is undoubtedly a master at crafting stories that are truly the epitome of romance. Her words are a testament to the power in love.

The Girl Of His Dreams was definitely one of my favorite reading experiences. Hilarious. Romantic. Sensual. This book had the perfect recipe of what all romance stories are made of! I was so easily invested in not only the storyline, but the character themselves. I laughed with them. Cried with them. And most importantly? I felt the moment they fell in love. Love is a risk. It’s giving someone else power to hurt you, but trusting them not to. Aubrey and Jordan materialized this. Despite how the story unfolds when all comes to light, it was their love that was never questioned. I could totally see this book come to life as a movie. There was so much heart and life within this book and the characters that I find myself thinking about these characters days after I read The End. Well done! I can’t wait to read the next Bachelor’s story!

Full review to follow after release date so no spoilers! But another fantastic story, loved Jordan and his two friends Finn and Max, and thought Aubrey was the perfect match for him, definitely earning the title of the girl of his dreams!

As I began to write my review for the second book in this trilogy, I suddenly remembered that I had never updated the review for book one! So before I publish my review for book two, let me quickly update this review.

I loved this book! Jordan was a character who had a small but memorable scene or two in the Splendor trilogy (still my fav!), and I was stoked to learn he would have his own book. He’s charming and funny and, yes, something of a player, and has not so successfully hidden his attraction to his very happily married patient Tessa.

After Tessa has her second child, Jordan realizes any hope of being with her is completely out of the question, and decides to take a vacation somewhere and try to forget his crush on her. He goes to Hawaii and right away meets a beautiful woman who could shockingly be Tessa’s twin! Jordan soon realizes that while Aubrey looks a lot like Tessa, she is nothing like her personality wise, but this only make him more attracted to her.

They have a fling during his vacation, and Aubrey doesn’t expect it will last any longer than that. But Jordan surprises her by inviting her to visit him in San Francisco after her job assignment in Hawaii ends, and she surprises herself by agreeing. Their feelings deepen for each other the more time they spend together, though Jordan digs himself a little hole by not telling Aubrey about this other woman who could be her twin, and especially not that he has/had feelings for Tessa.

Without giving anything away, let’s just say that things come to a head, and Jordan is left scrambling to make things right with the girl of his dreams – Aubrey. Along the way his two best friends – Finn and Max – give him advice, not all of it welcome.

This book was as well written as every other one by this author has always been, fast paced, sexy, funny, and also emotional at times. I enjoyed being introduced to the secondary characters – Finn and Max, Aubrey’s roommates and parents – as well as getting to spend some time with my favorite couple Ian and Tessa. Loved it!

Always a pleasure to read one of Janet’s creations.

I received a ARC in exchange for a review.

I loved the plot! I won’t give too much away, but I loved, loved the storyline.

Jordan is a a bit of plank at times, at first I wasn’t sure I liked him, but he grew on and also grew up a bit, Aubrey is a spit fire I love her. I think Janet is a genius for adding her back story.

A really good, well written book that I pretty much devoured in one sitting.

Can’t wait for the next bachelor book.

I've never read this author's work before and from the moment I started reading the first words, I was hooked. It's written well and I was connected to each character. Jordan has an infatuation with his client but knows nothing can come of it considering she's in love with her husband. He decides the best way to erase that lust is to go on vacation where he meets Aubrey. From the moment they meet, she's captivated Jordan not only with her looks but also with her personality. What really hits the nail on the head is that Aubrey resembles the very woman he's been infatuated with. Such a great read and I look forward to reading about Finn and Max in the next two books.

What can I say about Dr. Jordan Reeves, acclaimed ob/gyn, tall, dark and handsome, Super hot! 😍
I have been waiting for this book for months - maybe even years!. I first met Dr. Reeves in Splendor (my all-time favorite book) but only briefly. If you have read Splendor then you know all about Ian ❤ and Tessa. Dr. Reeves is smitten with Tessa and cant seem to let go. While on vacation, he meets Aubrey - a woman who closely resembles Tessa in appearance but has a much stronger level of confidence. Without going into too much detail, I just want to say that I simply enjoyed this book. I really loved the fact that Ian and Tessa were featured in this book and her past was clarified.
I cannot wait for Max' book, one of Jordan's bachelor friends.

Jordan was a committed bachelor. He was sure the only woman for him was one that was already taken. He decides to try and get over his consuming crush by taking a vacation. He goes off to Hawaii for two weeks. He meets Aubrey and they become inseparable the whole time. I love the chemistry between Jordon and Aubrey. When Jordon invites her to visit him in San Francisco he realizes that he can't live without Aubrey. They have a few issues. The main one being that Aubrey looks just like his crush. His friends think that he is using Aubrey as a replacement. I could not put this book down. It has me hooked from the beginning.

I have read a few books by Janet Nissenson and the common thread I find is that each of the stories are captivating, so much so that once I start reading I find it really hard to put it down. From the first chapter to the last we are gifted with a beautiful story of love and finding the person you are meant to share your life with. This story invoked a lot of emotions including rage a couple of times, but honestly this is a beautiful love story about finding ones true love and overcoming the obstacles that are your way.

This is a new author to me, and my word, I cannot wait to read more of her work. Jordan is a committed bachelor, who takes himself away for a few weeks on vacation. When he meets feisty Aubrey, these two become inseparable, but they have several issues to overcome in order to have a relationship. This is a well written story which flows seamlessly, and I was hooked throughout.

Jordan needs to get away for a few weeks and move past his crush he has on one of his patients, a patient who his happily married with two lovely children. So Jordan escapes, and it’s no secret he can attract quite a number of females; after all he is doctor dreamy and has his fair share of admirers. What he didn’t count on was the feisty and gorgeous Aubrey crashing into his life. All seems to be going well until Aubrey believes there’s a reason why Jordan liked her so quickly; a crush from his past but not be all that causes problems between these two.

“he unexpectedly found himself tongue-tied -he, Jordan Reeves, who’d acquired a reputation as the smoothest of smooth talkers, who was nearly as renowned for his suave pick-up lines as he was for his prowess between the sheets, and who was never at a loss for words no matter the occasion.”

This was an enjoyable romance read with a little drama thrown in. It was an easy read and perfect for those looking for a fun, flirty, sexy romance with two likeable lead characters.

“You deserve a hell of a lot more than a quick fuck in a dark closet, baby. You should be worshipped, savored, adored every single time you make love.”

Jordan was undoubtedly a player when we first meet him. He doesn’t try to hide it and despite this I still found him endearing and attractive. However he knows a good thing when he sees it and the way he fell for Aubrey so quickly was so sweet and I actually felt really sorry for him when Aubrey discovers Tessa. You could tell how much he adores her and how much he wanted it to work out. Aubrey was a great female lead; she had this naivety about her which showed her innocence but she was also a feisty and strong young woman. I may have wanted to shake her and shout at her when she doubts Jordan’s love for her but I also couldn’t blame her for it!

“And believe me, darlin’, I fully intend to take care of every single one of your needs tonight. Satisfy them better than any other man has ever done for you, or ever will again. Easy now.”

This is first and foremost a love story; we watch two characters meet and grow into a relationship together. Its sweet and sexy and definitely very steamy at times. It was enjoyable to watch these two come together and fall in love. But we also have a secondary story to do with family which was actually a pleasant surprise! I enjoyed we got this second element which added a little something extra. I can’t give too much away but it was definitely a shock and I loved how we had the viewpoint from the other characters involved. So if you are looking for a sweet, easy romance read with a little surprise thrown in then this is the book for you.

I absolutely adore Janet Nissenson and will read anything she writes. So to say I was excited about The Girl of his Dreams would be an understatement. I have been fascinated by Jordan since we meet him in the Splendor series and now we not only get to deep dive into his story but meet Aubrey - who is his match in almost every way.

Jordan Reeves a confirmed bachelor who has had a crush on his patient needs a break - and what better way than to take a two week vacation in Hawaii. This is the perfect opportunity to forget Tessa and her perfect family with Ian (who happens to be his friend) and to recharge. That is until he meets Aubrey Larson who just happens to look just like Tessa but the similarities stop there. After spending two weeks with her he knows he cant let Aubrey go so he invites her back to San Fransisco. Where their new found relationship is put to the test.

Aubrey lives for adventure but knows that she needs to figure out her life now that her time in Hawaii is almost up. When the sexy and older Dr Jordan Reeves comes into her life she finds herself wanting to spend more and more time with him. Knowing that he is a bit of a ladies man Aubrey tries to protect her heart but because harder and harder until the bombshell of all bombshells threatens not only her relationship but shakes up her whole life.

I love the detail Ms Nissenson puts in all her books not just from a character perspective but the places she takes us to. It makes the story feel authentic and real. Told in 3rd person from both Jordan and Aubrey's perspectives we get to see where each character is and the journey they both go through to find each other. This is in my opinion one of the harder points of view to write and Ms Nissenson does it flawlessly. There is also a great twist that folds in Ian and Tessa from the Splendor series which was fantastic. We also get to meet Jordan's friends Max and Finn not only handsome but hilarious and both with some secrets of their own - I for one am all in for their books coming up in the Bachelor series.

All in all another great love story written by Ms Nissenson - perfect for a summer read.

4.5 Stars for The Girl of Hs Dreams by Janet Nissenson. Book 1 in a new series and if this book is anything to go by she will have a hit series on her hands.
Jordan is a confirmed bachelor he has a very successful doctors practice and he has no shortage of woman trying to get him to commit to a long term relationship but there is only one woman he would settle for and she is already taken in fact he has just delivered her second child. In desperate need of a break he takes himself off to Hawaii for a two week holiday and he really thinks he is seeing things when a girl who is the spitting image of the woman he has crushed over walks out of the water in front of his sun bed........
Aubrey spends her time working around the world in the travel industry the pay may not be great but she gets to visit some amazing places and she really can’t believe a man as handsome and successful as Jordan would see anything in her apart from a holiday romance.
As Jordan and Aubrey get to know each other it soon becomes clear Aubrey may look like the patient he has crushed over but her personality is very different and he falls madly in love with her. Could the hot doctor finally be settling down and what happens when the two women who look so alike finally meet......
I loved this sweet romance, there is plenty of passion as well as a great story the characters have depth and chemistry and once I started I could not put this book down. Looking forward to more in this new series.

I loved this story. It was a sweet romance. But it sure did sizzle.
This book is for mature audiences. With that said let's get into it!

The story was great. Jordan our main man is beginning to 'grow up' and re-thinking his bachelor wild ways. And get over a slightly
broken heart. So a trip to Hawaii is on the agenda.

But instead of finding the 2 week romance he is expecting he
finds the perfect woman The Girl Of His Dreams!

Jordan is a great guy. He is honest and hardworking. Just a great guy. He's the kind of guy you want to bring home to mama. Even though his bachelor days have left him quite experienced.

Aubrey The Girl Of His Dreams is sweet. She has a fun personality. But she's a little down on herself and feels like
she isn't quite 'good enough'.

There's a little bit of a twist to the story that I won't share
you'll have to read it on your own.

If you love a good romance with some sizzle you'll love be
very happy with The Girl Of His Dreams.

I voluntary read this as an ARC and give it my honest review.
I became involved in this book, I laughed, cried and sigh at their love.
Jordan is steadfast bachelor. Until he sees how happy and in love his crush is. He feels tired of endless one night stands and wants to try dating. He goes to Maui to shake the feeling off. He meets Aubrey who could be a twin for his crush but after 10 minutes reveals personality wins she is more out going, confident and has a quirky sense of humour he likes.
He spends the rest of his time on his vacation wh her and before he leaves convinces her to come his place in the States after a short visit at her parents after her end of her employment ends. Their attraction during the whole time is explosive and they are very cute together at times. He treats Aubrey as a princess, better than any man has.

Jordan makes the mistake of not telling Aubrey of her doppelganger the whole time, until it is too late. She feels that their whole relationship was fake. Will she forgive him and realizes he truly loves her for her.

I’ve loved all of Janet Nissenson’s books and am thrilled she started a new series. This is the first book in the new series and includes some popular characters from earlier stories. I highly recommend The Girl of His Dreams.

Jordan is a successful doctor and happily confirmed bachelor. He has his choice of women and enjoys sex without any strings attached. Committed relationships or marriage are not for him. When he meets Aubrey, that changes.
She’s beautiful, intelligent and full of life.

Foolishly, Jordan keeps a secret from Aubrey that can spoil the bond they’ve built and change her life forever. Naturally, she discovers what he’s hiding and is in a tailspin that includes leaving Jordan. Putting the pieces of her life back together is a journey that may or may not include the man she loves.

What an unexpected romance. Jordan is a successful doctor and lusts after one of his patients, Tessa, who is happily married to Ian. He knows he can never have her but finds that his usual one-night stands don’t carry the release he is used to. His friends convince him to take a vacation and he ends up in Maui. As he is scouting the women on the beach, a vision emerges from the waves and steal’s his breath. Aubrey is trying to figure out what to do with her life as she works in Maui planning tours for guests at a hotel. When Jordan approaches her, well, she isn’t impressed with his cheesy lines but persistence is key. Jordan and Aubrey have a natural chemistry and for Jordan, he decides to take it slow with her after her quick wit keeps him on his toes making him realize he’s founds something special. I love the slow build of their romance and the unknown when he returns to California. There are several surprises along the way which pushes their relationship to the brink. Truly a wonderfully, sexy romance that provided a perfect escape. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Falling for the doppelgänger of the woman you’ve been overtly lusting after-for five years- is not creepy at all. Surely nothing says romantic like knowing the heroine is, at best, no more than the second choice; or worse, a substitute.

Right from the first page this book had my attention because it started out with the male POV. Jordan is an OB/GYN and the nurses call him Dr. Dreamboat. I got to say that I can agree with them on that name because he is flirtatious, charming, and sexy. He is single and has a crush on one of his patients who is married. His friends tell him he needs to get a way for a while to try to get over his infatuation and he takes a trip to Maui to do just that. On his first day there he sees a woman on the beach that is a dead ringer for the woman he is trying to forget. When they lock eyes and he gets her talking he knows that they may look alike but they are different as night and day. This mystery woman is name Aubrey and she gets Jordan’s attention with the first 5 minutes of them meeting and its intense. Aubrey is young and still doesn’t know what she wants in life so, when the charming gentlemen asks her out she feels as though she is out of her comfort zone. For the next 2 weeks they spend every waking moment with one another and Jordan asks her to come and spend some time with him in his home. What she doesn’t know that when she says yes that it would change her life drastically. A secret will come out and everyone will get the surprise of their lives when Aubrey comes to town.

This is my first time reading one of Janet’s novels and I have to say it was not a disappointment. “The Girl of His Dreams” is filled with laughter, friendship, romance and love with a little drama throughout. Jordan and Aubrey’s affair is intense and full of chemistry that they heat up every scene. Their journey together is fast paced, and I love the fact the characters develop such a deep connection. Jordan has been looking for something ever since he stepped foot on Maui and he found it when he approached Aubrey. Their relationship is a world wind and with Jordan’s friends in the mix giving him advice something is bound to happen. The story did slow down towards the middle where it started dragging and the characters were a little more in their head. Other than that, I love the characters and the storyline with they way the author brought each one to life. The novel is a great romance of finding where you are truly meant to be and how you can’t help when you fall in love.

* I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own *

This is the story of Jordan Reeves who just goes through life with a carefree attitude, and a playboy bachelor life. But then he meets Aubrey Larson while on vacation in Hawaii, but the problem is she looks so much like this crush he had , so he decides to explore this and the attraction between these two is off the charts.
But when the relationship starts to grow the past start showing its weary head, but it seems that Aubrey is unaware and Jordan has to find a way to tell her or risk losing her.
This was a fun sweet romantic story and had a few twists to keep you on your toes.
Great story by Janet Nissenson and look forward to the next instalment.

Jordan is the hottie doctor that you talk about with your friends, you look forward to your next appointment with him but also don’t look forward to it. On top of that he is an ob/gyno so getting up close to lady bits is what he does every day.

Jordan is used to getting hit on, one thing he will never do is date a patient or anyone he works with. He is in his late 30’s, has never been in a long term relationship and has a very healthy sexual appetite. He is never short of female company because women simply can’t resist his charm and good looks.

In need of a break Jordan takes a two week vacation to forget about work for a while. On his his first day in Hawaii he thinks he is seeing things when he recognises a woman he has been crushing on for a while. Turns out to be a case of mistaken identity but a pleasant one nonetheless.

Aubrey has been working and living in Hawaii for a couple of years now, the pay isn’t the best but it’s a job right? When the handsome Jordan approaches her she is initially weary of him, I mean his pick up lines could use some work they are so cheesey! There is something about him though, possibly his persistance that has her agreeing to a drink with him.

Jordan soon discovers that Aubrey is nothing like the lady he mistook her for, in fact she is the complete opposite. He is completely drawn to her and very quickly they discover the chemistry is just as incredible between the sheets.

Little does Jordan know what a can of worms he may have just opened. He has never been keen on permanent relationships but all of sudden he finds himself thinking very differently when it comes to Aubrey. However, he also suspects that he may know something about her past that she isn’t aware of. Something that could change everything if he doesn’t man up and tell her. If he doesn’t he risks losing the girl of his dreams.

This was a fun, light, romantic story with a few twists to keep things interesting.

Jordon Reeves is an OB/GYN who desires Tessa, one of his happily married patients. While lusting after her, Jordon hooks up with many women, earning himself a reputation of being a player. Realizing that Tessa could never be his, Jordon decides to take some time off work and heads to Maui on vacation. There he meets Aubrey who lives on the island and has a remarkable likeness to Tessa. Jordon and Aubrey spend all of his vacation time together before he has to return home. When Aubrey comes to visit Jordon, it causes all sorts of problems and things get out of control.

The Girl of his Dreams is the first book in the Bachelor series by author Janet Nissenson. The storyline has a romance element as well as a suspense element. It sort of felt like I was reading two books in one. One being Jordon and Aubrey’s story, then the second being Aubrey and Tessa’s story. I enjoyed both storylines and was engrossed from the very beginning.

Overall, this was a sweet and touching romance with several twists.
