I didn't like it as I thought I would. The main problem was the heroine. There were times when I hated her.

I’m not crying, you’re crying! I don’t even know where to begin... Snow’s Soldiers was ducking AMAZING!! It’s one of those books that you start reading and don’t want to put down until the book is finished because you just want to get to the end, but then you want make it last as long as possible at the same time. Just plain ducking good y’all. You’ll laugh, a lot, and you’ll bawl your eyes out. I seriously had to put it down at one point and walk away until I could compose myself enough to finish reading (and here I go again with the tears just thinking about it). Ms. Hibbett has left me with all the feels as I wait for the next book. Congratulations on a job well done.

There’s not many authors who can leave me guessing up until the very end, but there i was saying “I know this is what’s going on” then second guessing my theories and saying “well, I can’t believe I was wrong on that” only later find myself saying “oh she done got me again!! I can’t believe I let her fool me into believing I was wrong!!” Now in my opinion, that’s the way to write a book.

Seriously, I can’t gush enough over how great Snow’s Soldiers was. And here’s another thing I loved, while this is part of a series, this book is pretty close to being a stand-alone. There are some things that have been left to be explored as there are still some strings that need to be tied together and whatnot, but you’re not left on a horrible cliffhanger, dangling over the edge and barely holding on to your sanity as you wait for the next book; it comes to a wonderful stopping point that leaves you waiting for more while not torturing you until you get it.

You won’t regret diving into Snow’s Soldiers, so go on and get it.

Bad ass MFC with interesting dynamic between her and the harem and her and the secondary characters. Heavy plot and heart wrenching ending. Needs a bit more steamy scenes but definitely worth the read. Looking forward to the next in line.

This was one hella of a big story. It's a twist on Snow White tale.
Aria wants to avenge her mother's death and for that, she has to find monsters living in the forest, which would not be that nice and easy. Yet it won't be.
I find this story okay as it's too long IMO and I think some interactions should be more developed in the long shot.
I have high hopes for book 2, as this one was ok.

This book was AMAZING. It truly is one of those reads I'll look back on no matter how long it's been. The pacing was excellent, the characters defined and unique, the plot full of twists and turns that kept you guessing every step of the way, the writing was descriptive and full of enough humor to keep the darkness at bay. If I could give a higher rating, I totally would.

Lips red as the rose, hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow...
"Yes, I was a badass vigilante, but I was a badass vigilante with a killer hangover."

Aria Snow is the kind of female badass character I always look for in the books I read. She knew what she could do, and she was not afraid to show it. Her powers are pretty unique, I'll give y'all that; with her training, she easily knocks aside highly trained members of the guild without breaking a sweat. She is a badass bitch with an icy heart capable of loving just as much as it's capable of exacting cold-blooded revenge on her enemies. She is not a heroine who loses all her inhibitions once she's faced with one of her mates; this is a heroine who knows what she wants, isn't afraid to get it, and turns the situation to her benefit every step of the way—anyone taking advantage of her will be knocked on their ass with her figure looming over them. No one better get on her bad side, especially if you tried harming her mates.

A wolf shifter, a gargoyle, and an incubus walk into a cottage...
Where do I start with these awesome idiots? Let's start with Sven.
"How were the rest of us mere mortals supposed to defend ourselves against something so damn beautiful?"

He's the smooth-tongued fox you'd expect in every harem. His careless grins and utter idiocy will slowly drag your heart into a pit until oops you've fallen for the lovable idiot. I would've liked to know about his feelings for their harem, since I remember quite distinctly that he didn't want any other male looking at Aria. Anyway, hope we'll get more of him.

Now...moving on to to the hard-headed (literally) bastard of the trio: Griffin.
"Not every prince is a hero. Not every prince is worthy of love."

I'm never attracted to alphaholes who think they're the shit. But Griffin couldn't give a fuck what others thought about him; he did what he was meant to do. PERIODT. He was written in such a way that his character clearly didn't revolve in his general coldness against everyone. The author gave him different layers to his personality and as the story went on, these layers are slowly peeled back to show that he's just...Griffin. No more and no less. Boy I do love it when a hardass character has to fight to keep his feelings for his special someone close to heart [deep inhale] THAT ANGST IS SOME GOOD SHIT, Y'ALL. But when the inevitable finally happens...let me just say that legend about the little general staying up for 3 days straight isn't true (unfortunately). Griffin's even more adorable when he worries:

And the last, but certainly not the least in the harem: DANIEL. WINDSOR.
"I'm afraid I lack both Sven's magnetic charm and Griffin's brute egotism, which leaves somewhere between slightly dull and decidedly bookish."

I have to admit, my favorite is Daniel because he has that British professor vibe going on, and I am an absolute hoe for those kinds of male characters. I long for the day he . Not to mention his massive respect for everyone despite how easily he could take advantage of them? He's a little baby sheep in wolf's clothing—but please don't underestimate this sheep because he can and will raze anything in his path if you get between him and his mate (and the other people he loves, I guess). He is the adorable, dorky, hot nerd of my dreams and I want him to be the father of my children—he's certainly proven himself to know a lot in that area:
"Every infant needed at least one good blanket. And a nice teddy bear. And some Egyptian cotton sheets for their crib. And it would have been ludicrous not to order that silver rattle; it wasn't every day that one's first grandchild was born. Not to mention that there was something addictive about buying gifts for a baby—a tiny, unformed scrap of perfection with unknowable potential."

Don't worry, he isn't talking about his own grandchild—or is he? [Evil laugh]. Anyhow, I've never wanted kids, but if the dad were Daniel, then that'd be a HELL YEAH. And may I say: I love how his relationship with Aria wasn't rushed. They all know he needs time to deal with practically a life's worth of shit before he can reach that level of intimacy with her, but Aria knows that he's worth the wait. And when that happens, oh sweet gods y'all better vacate the premises because he ain't letting her go until they're both bonelessly sated.

I now have less than 8 hours to write a term paper and finish up a report for my Literature classes, and neither is related to the Reverse Harem genre, or to these books in general. Yes, I procrastinated to finish this absolute bomb of a book. Special mention to the other characters who aren't part of the harem. It was fun knowing their history, and I really hope . Thanks for the wild ride, L.C. Hibbett, I look forward to more from this universe. I'll start reading the rest of the series once the final book is released just in case there are crazy cliffhangers waiting for me. Cheers!

*Spoiler Alert*
A prophecy, a girl - Aria (FMC) looking for vindication and vengeance, a flirty shifter - Sven, a sexual, sensual but scared succubi - Daniel and a grumpy Gargoyle - Griffin are all brought together when strange things start happening in the Black Forrest. Action-packed, fast-paced, witty and one hell of a read. I had to keep going back through this book to make sure i hadnt missed anything it was that hard to keep up with it. So good though

I love fairytale retellings and reverse harems so L.C. Hibbett had me with the first book in the Fairy Tales and Nightmares series. Snow's Soldiers was everything I could have wanted in a paranormal reverse harem fairytale retelling.

Aria Snow is a badass version of Snow White who is not only a trained fighter but is also wicked smart, snarky and has a bit of an anger management problem. Aria is a survivor, she has been through a lot and it has left her with some trust issues and she wanders through life pretty much a loner then enters a group of magical misfits and if she thought her life was crazy before she hasn't seen nothing yet. I love how Aria is so quizzical about things, she doesn't let people control her fate but she is also caring underneath her harsh exterior.

The guys, the first two was really easy to love, Sven the caring goofball and Daniel the sensitive intellect but then there is Griffin... Dude has snark and anger issues that even top Aria. He is a pretty tough nut to crack, he doesn't really let anyone in and it has given him a rough personality, I mean there were times when I wanted to strangle Griffin because of his gruff pigheadedness but after getting to know him and seeing past his walls I actually like him. Aria has a really good vibe and connection with all of them but the funny thing is Aria is a little rough and the guys have to take her accidental punishments, it just hilarious.

This was a big book and I loved every second of it. While the story did have its parallels with Snow White, the story was also wildly unique with aspects of mythology, military, fairytales, and history. The plot was so good thing happened at a pretty good pace and the many plot twists were spread nicely throughout the book. Another thing I loved was the multiple points of view, Aria might have had the main povs but the guys had a really good amount of the chapters as well and I love seeing things from their perspective and how they feel about Aria and their thoughts on some of the situations.

Snow's Soldiers is the first book in the series and I believe the rest of the books each follow a new main character (all with a fairytale base) but will tie into an overall bigger story. I loved this book and am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series. I am hoping that the stories will intertwine a little bit and at least have characters from the previous stories make an appearance in the other books but either way the Fairy Tales and Nightmares series has been added to my tbr.

This book was amazing! I do not even know if I can put into words to describe how awesome it was. But, here goes…

Fairytales have always been dear to my heart because they bring back wonderful memories of storytime with my grandparents, who always read to me with excitement and flourish and made the stories leap off the pages. Obviously, this one is not a childhood tale but it still shines. Snow’s Soldiers is a new twist on a classic tale and the beginning of a new paranormal RH saga.

The book grabs you from the first page and cradles you in mystery, suspense, and intrigue from start to finish. The characters will charm you and the storyline will captivate you with the fantastic world building and complicated, twisted plot with tons of surprises thrown in along the way. The intricacies of all the threads in this book are utterly amazing.

I loved everything about this book. It was non-stop excitement and action and definitely gives you all the feels. The drama, the fears, the chills and thrills, the tears, and oohhh the love…the delicious, all-consuming, blinding love was there and it was beautifully done too. And another great thing about this book is the fact that even though it is the start of a series, it does not leave you with a soul crushing cliffhanger at the end that makes you want to scream and throw your Kindle across the room anxious for the next one to release. It had a nice wrap up and could even be enjoyed as a standalone story, though there are some minor dangling threads that I am sure will be detailed as the saga goes forward.

L.C. Hibbett is a new author to me but one I know I will be following and reading from now on. Snow’s Soldiers is an epic adventure you do not want to miss! I am really looking forward to the next tale in the series.

On a rollercoaster of emotions!

This book is my introduction to this author and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I was so happy to read a book with more than one powerful female character, Aria and Perfect Janet are both as incredible and they are different. Heather and her chips sandwiches are both unusual and fun ! And what can I say about the men ! I love that Aria has not been intimate with all her mates yet, it leaves plenty of story to develop for the next books in the series ! And I also love that none of the character changed their personallities as they develop feelings for each other. Sven stays this intrepid man with wits, Griffin stay this hard man who sneers and Daniel stays this smooth reassuring man ! Really I have just finished and cannot decide if I want to cry or laugh but needless to say, I am ready for what’s next !! Oh an also, even though the series announces more than one book, it didn’t finish on a cliffhanger which I really appreciate !

Great read

TL;DR Great book, I recommend, but I’m not finishing the series.

This book was a whirlwind. I actually cried at the end of it. It’s a little long so I would clear your schedule for the day because once you start, you’re not going to want to stop. The best parts of the book are at the end, so it’s a little boring at some parts. Seriously, at least try it. That being said, I don’t think I’m going to finish the series, as contradicting as that may seem. I simply don’t like it when the POVs are switched. The next book stars another main character’s life and I just can’t read series like that, especially since I have a strong feeling one of them is going to be sacrificed. Maybe if the second and third books were optional, and I only had to read the last book in the series. Even then though, the fourth and last book isn’t coming out until this time next year. If you don’t mind MC switching or waiting then this is the book for you.

I loved it!!

This was so well-written and my first read by L.C. Hibbett. I loved almost everything about it. Really, my only complaint was the lack of steam. One of my favorite parts of reading RH is seeing her different actions with each guy and how that translates in the bedroom. The lack of steam and actual relationship time left the story feeling unfinished. I wanted to get to know them as a group and I really wish we'd gotten to read about her and Daniel coming together.

There were two sex scenes in the whole 600+ page book and for other sub-genres that might not seem like a big deal but in RH (especially as a stand alone) it's kind of expected that we atleast get to have her be with all of her mates before the book is over.

Anyways, besides the lack of heat, it was a really, truly awesome read that I will recommend over and over again.

This has been one of the most intense and captivating retellings I've ever had the privilege of reading. Aria and the men are well written with both physical descriptors but psychological ones as well. You get to truly understand what each character is like and how they work with the others. The plot not only works your imagination but your emotions as well. It's very addictive and once you get into the story it's very difficult to put it down. It's not a short read(something like 600 pages I think) but it keeps you captivated just as much toward the end as it does on page 1 or 10. The multiple POV are clearly marked and it makes it so much easier to understand everything. I loved this book so so much

Great HEA

This was a very unique story. I liked the different supernatural factions and the idea of a task force to police them. Aria is a great main character. She's tough and resilient but, eventually, willing to let others in as needed. The ending did seem a bit over-the-top. A lot of strange things popped up in the final battle that just didn't seemed necessary (like the whole draining blood from the witches into a bathtub). Regardless though, I was pretty happy with the ending and I loved how the guys were with the baby. I always enjoy a good standalone and this one was really enjoyable. I definitely recommend it.

Booty kicking FMC and HEA

I was gearing up for an 11 hour car ride and downloaded this after seeing LC Hibbett’s post about Snow’s Soldiers release on a fellow author’s page. I am so, so glad I did. Snow is a super strong minded and bodied FMC. I liked that although, her decisions didn’t always seem to be the best, they fit her character well. The men all bring different aspects to the relationship that you can’t help but appreciate. I wish there had been more time with her gargoyle :)

The book ends well, but definitely leaves room for future stories. I’ll be following this author from now on to make sure I don’t miss future releases.

Ok read

Interesting read, a twist on a old tale of snow white. Although I liked the storyline I didn't like the whiplash of aria snow. I liked her hardcore take no shit, but yet in some parts of the book she came off weak and vulnerable, and it didn't play right for me. There are times this can work in a read, and in others like this it just can't. It took my about 3 days to read this book, between it being long, it also had information that was pretty useless. I found myself skipping that stuff obviously, and as I got to the end, I just wasn't satisfied. I won't be finishing this series

This was a very good story! It went by a lot faster than I thought for a 600 page book! Kept me hooked from the start and didn’t really drag at all which is impressive for a longer story.

Aria was a strong heroine who took no crap from anyone, she didn’t rely on others and she knew how to kick butt.

This was a great start to a series! I think the romance was lacking in this book it was very much a plot and character based story. I wanted more romance between her and Daniel.. but you can’t win them all!

Can’t wait to read the next story when it comes out! I love me a “Beauty and the Beast” retelling! Can’t believe I have to wait until June for it!! 😭

Epic new series!!

Snow’s Soldiers is a fantastic first book in a new series by LC Hibbett. I love Aria, Griffin, Daniel and Sven. They are a great combination of characters and I love how they complement each other.
The story is amazing and keeps you turning pages and wanting to know what is happening next. I loved Boa Lan’s story, it made you see a different side of Griffin.
I was surprised several times.

I hope to see more of these guys in the following books, especially Daniel and Aria.
I can’t wait

Why are you reading my review when you should be reading this book already!

I received an arc copy of this book this past weekend and spent the entire weekend reading it! Be prepared this book is page turner, keeping you in the edge of your seat until the very end! I was hooked from page 1! If you love strong female leads and a great retelling of a classic story then this is the book for you! With that said, why are you still reading this when you should be reading the book already?

I need a sequel please!

If you haven't read this yet, I highly suggest it. It has amazing classic fairytale hat-tips with quick witted humor and a stunning story to wrap yourself up in. I'll warn you, once it ends you will be dying for a sequel to the novel. Snow and her group have so much character development and it is done just beautifully. If you want a strong, take no shit heroine with a side of hot sex and true love...this is the novel for you!

So wonderfully written I'm practically speechless!

By far one of the best series I have read in ages. By 20% it already had made my top 10, now it's tied for top 5. Wonderful worldbuilding, fanfreakingtastic characters, fully thought out plot. I feel like I read multiple books instead of just one. I can't wait for more, but am not upset at all about how it ended. The perfect amout of closure balanced with hope for how the story could continue. 100% worth the read!

Wonderful

I really enjoyed this story. I don't typically like retellings but decided to give it a chance and I am glad I did. This was set in the early 80's so didn't have that old timey feel. The characters were interesting and distinctive. The pacing was great. This is a long book which satisfies many of the plot elements by the end but leaves enough to sustain intrigue in future books. I am looking forward to book 2!

Wow

Couldn't put this one down! Aria is such a kick butt MC. I love how Hibbett didn't try to write her as a perfect, do no wrong character that all the guys instantly love. She has anger issues, trust issues and insecurities but us readers got to watch her grow and build a family. I felt every range of emotions with this one. All three guys were different and stole my heart in the end

Amazing!!! I usually don't like fairy tales retold but this was absolutely amazing. Even though it was a retelling it was no where near like the original; though I suppose that's the point. The main character was snarky, smart, a bad ass and overall strong person. This was one of the better retelling I have ever read. An amazing author with a wonderful imagination.

Aria

Eep! What an amazing book! The suspense and mystery were thrilling, the betrayal, the chemistry, the danger... I loved it! Aria is the kind of female character that makes the story all the more compelling. Her fiery personality and sass and sarcasm are all the things I look for and admire in a lead.

Twists with every chapter

Snowe's Soldiers is a paranormal reverse harem tell like none I have read before. Each chapter had twists that can't be predicted. It's one of those tales where every chapter has to be read because some important detail will get missed otherwise.

Read to find out how one woman's fight for truth and revenge leads to fairytales becoming reality.

Strange but Captivating

A kernel of the Snow White story has exploded into a tale that goes from what to terrifying in spots. It's a story that really grows on you and really powerfully grabs you in the last third of the book. I see more books are coming up, so I will continue to wait and wonder what strangeness awaits.
