Kara Weaver moved to the Jersey Shore in need of a break from her hectic life as an actress in L.A. She had already been away from the business for a year, but Kara thought a change of scenery might help her relax and recharge, so she signed a six month lease on an apartment in Asbury Park and packed her bags. Wanting to leave the memories of her ex and her stalker behind, Kara was ready for a fresh start, but when she meets Abbey, the woman who lives across the hall, Kara forms a friendship with her. Kara couldn't remember the last time she was treated like a normal person instead of a celebrity. But when the lines of friendship and attraction start to blur, Kara has to decide if she's willing to get involved with Abbey when she's leaving again in six months.
This was a nice read with littlw drama that I almost wish there was little more especially concerning Morgan because what she did is jacked up. A lot of things were resloved a bit too easy but as far as the story goes it was sweet and the chemistry between the two MCs was there. Plus they were likable which is always good. Secondary characters were pretty nonexistent and if flushed out better could have added to the story but being that theu werent didnt hurt the story. Free on kindleUnlimited.
Just three stars. Book started ok, but didn’t live up to it’s promising beginning, the story in the end had no substance. Add to that bad grammar at points. Story idea could have been developed better.
I really enjoyed this . The characters were sound and the story harder as well as been quite sexy. I liked the conclusion but felt it ended a bit too quickly and I hope there is a follow up. Thanks Ashlee😊
I really liked this story, it was well written without me thinking that they were moving too fast. this book is drama free which is something I wasn't expecting and it was nice to read that kind of story. both main characters are highly enjoyable. I wasn't expecting an epilogue either so it's probably why it's a 5 stars
Lost Dreams details the story of Kara, an actress, taking time off from her career due to a stalker when she meets Abbey, her neighbor, after she moves to Asbury Park, New Jersey. A relationship eventually develops between the two ladies. The book was solid but did have several errors. The last part of the book also felt rushed. The sex scenes between Kara and Abbey were varied and hot.
I really liked this book during the first half but towards the end it just got messy. It seems like the author used speech to text software when writing because there were several cases of words simply not belonging in a sentence. Like set instead of said or rapped instead of wrapped.
The other thing that really bothered me was the fact that a major plot point and question never got answered. Also it seems the character of Morgan was only added to cause trouble with her only motivation for doing so being a bit of a basket case.
It really is a shame the ending felt so rushed and therefor incomplete because Kara and Abbey have some good chemistry. This ends with a 3,5* rating.
Great steamy read, I couldn't really get into it early on, but after the first 5 chapters I couldn't stop reading it. It's a quick and easy read that won't take more than an hour to read if you're a speed reader like me.
*DISCLAIMER: I don't usually leave reviews like this. I'm just upset, so you may want to still give it a try.*
Sweet mercy...
I was all for giving this a higher review, but I couldn't.
Justice is not served, and the topic in question is pretty flipping serious. How... Just how did it end like this?
I feel like the relationship was going so smoothly that the offense/problem was thrown in to shake things up last minute, because this was a quick, and unsatisfying, ending.
This serious issue (stalking) wasn't given the attention and respect it should have been given. The author could have used this to teach a valuable lesson. It seemed to be going well at first, depicting the repercussions of such a callous and traumatizing experience, but then dissolved into some sort of weird laissez faire (or hands off) approach.
I can't express my frustration enough.
There were some grammatical errors, but the way this issue was handled is the true culprit to my rating.
Kara had moved to New Jersey from LA to get away from a stalker. Her new neighbor Ashley breaks into her apartment to get her cat who came in from her balcony. The fright gave them a chance to get closer. As time goes by their feelings grow and love mau loom. Good story
I was surprised how this book held my attention. I couldn't put it down. And it had a surprisingly wsrm and happy ending which as I said left me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Actress Kara is temporarily in Jersey on a break. While on her break she meets Abbey who treats her like a regular person. Kara is not here permanently this and the reason she left will make her decision to go out with Abbey?
Cute story and I enjoyed it but I feel it left some things unresolved. The beginning of the book was a bit hard to read due in some part to how it was written, but once I got past that I did like it.
