For twenty-one years she has poured her heart and soul into making sure we know that we are loved and that we can do anything we put our minds too, but it was about time she figured that out about herself.
Up until this year I hadn’t seen my mom do anything for only her, but this book has allowed her to travel the world through the pages of a book, make new friends, and feel the joy of doing something exciting.
There is a new light behind her eyes and it is just making me feel more joy than she can ever imagine. While she might be annoying most of the time, I am so thrilled that she is finally allowing herself to grow as a person and not spend all of her energy on her family.
It has been a long journey of self-discovery for my mom; she has gone from domestic supermom to domestic goddess throughout the process of writing.
We are so very excited and proud of you! I love you as big as the world.

When you a big man with an ego to match what better way to put you in your place that a short and fiery redhead. Murphy definitely gives Zander a run for his money in this cat and mouse like chase. While dealing with inner demons, fighting to save the casino of the father who deserted her and mastering the art of war, Murphy Larussa gives the Stern family a ride that they’ll never forget.
In Art of War, we revisit our cast of the Stern Family picking up right where Art of Forgiveness left us. Wanting to know more about the future heir of the casino who debt they have just purchased. Well, little surprise Murphy was not the heir they had anticipated. With her dominating personally but often closed off, she was a hard character to like most of the time. Especially when you have a brute like Zander being knocked around. Zander was easy to fall in love with yet again. The feelings I have for him have transpired from book one Art of Seduction I’m not saying Murphy isn’t well written. She was definitely meant to cause a confusion of feeling for Zander and the reader. That she does very well. She’s battling with an issue that stems from her childhood, which has traveled with through her years. Those are hard walls to knock down. Plus with the business that these two are in feelings can often land you in the hot seat.
Throughout the book, we are kept updated on a blossoming family, which I enjoyed. While this story was to revolve around Zander it was incorporated in a way that you weren’t left feeling that those details were just tossed in there.
The only serious flaw I had been with Kyle/Kylie. Not that I didn’t enjoy his flamboyant behavior and blunt mouth. He was such a great comical character. I just felt he was missing for keys parts of the storyline. For me, he seemed to of slipped away into the world of forgotten secondary characters. He started with a very prominent role but was dismissed about the 30%, with a quick reappearance of talking on the phone with no dialogue. Just being informed they spoken on the phone. I wish he would have been around more. I loved the interactions between Zander, Kyle/Kylie, and Murphy. So I was happy to have in resurface at the very end but sad that he was there for more of the big event. The other issues were minor details that just seemed to change our previous characters ever so slightly. But that could easily be explained off by the growth of the story and character.
Now the suspense that Monique brought was beyond amazing when I thought I had things figured out I was wrong. I really thought I knew what was going on. That was not the twist I saw coming. It was yet another perfectly sculpted integration on her part.
Overall, I know I am eagerly awaiting to read about our mysterious Vin in the next book of the series Art of Loyalty.

Murphy Larussa is in New Orleans to visit her father one final time. Having been raised by her mother, only getting to see her father on random visits from him. The older she got, the less frequent the visits became. When her father passes away, Murphy was left the one thing that separated her from her father. The Casino.
The Stern family is collecting a debt from the new owner of the casino. But when they finally find out who the new owner is…All steps to collecting are called off. Family bonds are threatened, war is coming…
Will Catherine be able to pull the reigns in on her son to make him see that the woman he has fallen for is there to play him? Or will Zander get his way and finally be the one of Catherine’s sons to back talk to his mother? Is this family going to fall apart from the one who stormed into their lives?
This series is a fantastic series! Each book focusing on one of the Stern Men. While they can be read as standalones, it’s best to read them in order to get the full story as it’s happening.

Art of War by Monique Orgeron is the Third book in the "Stern Family" saga. This is the story of Murphy Larussa and Zander Stern. I have read the previous books (and Loved Them!) but feel you can make this a standalone book if you choose to do so. Murphy is the daughter of a famous Cherry stripper, and Club Owner. Murphy is also tough, beautiful and had her mother's desired body, but what she didn't have was a strong father figure. Murphy was named after her father and her parents loved each other but her father was already married and he couldn't leave his wife. So that put a restriction on their relationship until her father stopped it altogether. But now he is dying and wants to see Murphy and give her his Casino that he owned. Murphy takes the ownership of his Casino after he passes and she moves forward to never be his forgotten or kept in the dark daughter.
But the Casino owes a lot of money to the Stern family and they plan on taking the Casino away from her. Zander Stern is the one out to find Murphy and bring her forward to his family to acknowledge the debt... but he keeps running into a Red Headed women that takes his breath away. They burn hot and fast until each learn who the other one is...but their feelings won't go away.
Zander is a protector of his family and had the muscle to back his force but what he has more of is a heart. Zander has always stood with his family but will he stand with them or what his heart wants...Murphy.
This series keeps getting better and better! Each book just makes you want more story about this family and from Ms. Orgeron .

But the Casino owes a lot of money to the Stern family and they plan on taking the Casino away from her. Zander Stern is the one out to find Murphy and bring her forward to his family to acknowledge the debt... but he keeps running into a Red Headed women that takes his breath away. They burn hot and fast until each learn who the other one is...but their feelings won't go away.
Zander is a protector of his family and had the muscle to back his force but what he has more of is a heart. Zander has always stood with his family but will he stand with them or what his heart wants...Murphy.
This series keeps getting better and better! Each book just makes you want more story about this family and from Ms. Orgeron .

I was so excited to finally read Zanders story. And man what a story it was.
Zander is the fun-loving one in the family. From the very first book, he said that he would be honored if Catherine would find him a wife. But we all knew that it wasn't something that he was waiting on. He went about his life working and womanizing like always. But when he is tasked to find a Murphy Jr he is stumped. Everywhere he looks he can't find him. But he does find a beautiful redhead that he can't get out of his head.
Murphy ends up being a chick. Murphy is a no-nonsense woman that doesn't take crap from anyone and that includes Zander and the Stern family. She ends up pissing a lot of people off when she takes over her dads casino, and even when Catherine gives her an out, marry Zander and keep some control of her casino. What will Murphy do?
I loved this book. Murphy kicked butt and Zander falls in love. Catherine finally has to come to some terms with her past. And we learn some more about what she will do to protect her family. And we all know she will do anything for that. The ending is explosive. I can't wait to see what is next. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Monique has done it again!! She has given us another phenomenal read which is Zander and Murphy's book.
As we know from the previous books Zander is set on a hunt to track down
Murphy Larussa seniors son. What no one took into account was that Murphy Larussa Jr was actually a she and not a he.
Zander is know to be God's gift to women, he's like sex on 2 legs, never committing to one as he's not dating material. Well that is until he literally stumbles across Murphy (Red) his little Red headed siren, she’s the only woman to ever bring the great Zander Stern to his knees.
Things from there get interesting. Catherine and the rest of the Sterns are left shocked a few times in this book which is great to see.
Some major Secrets are exposed in this book and I'm glad they have finally shed some light to some of our suspicions.
When time comes and we find out who is betraying the Sterns, its the person we least expect to fix the problem, that does.
Now that ending oh Good lord that ending has left me wanting more. I can't wait for Art of Loyalty which is Vin's book. I'm dying to see how he came about.

Another perfect book. How to write without saying too much?!? Well, the author keeps better and better in writing of this Series. Each book is a stand alone and about different couple. There is a real action, love, intrigues.. everything that I like to read. Mafia book with love and hot scenes written so well. Another 5+ stars for the narration style and full description of all characters. Bravo! 👍👍👍👍

According to her constant mentioning it she is fat so whats with the skinny girl on the cover. She apparently has no thigh gap and so so why foes the cover match her description in the book

I love this series!!!! Murphy and Zander are two strong characters who fight for and with each other. I love Zander's protective nature and the way that he will go to war with his family for Murphy. Murphy's ability to go up against Catherine and the rest of the family had me holding my breath, to see what would happen. Monique does not disappoint in this next book of the series, and I can't wait for the mysterious Vin's story!!

After reading the blurb I was excited to read Zander's story I could tell just from the blurb that Murphy was going to be his match and would be the one to put Zander in his place. I felt like Murphy did fight her feelings for Zander a little too much because lets be honest we all knew they were going to end up together. It was heartbreaking her finding out how much her father loved her. I just wish they could of had a better relationship before he passed. The flashbacks to her childhood with her wanting her Father there and being sad when he left and just wanted him to stay will bring tears to your eyes. Thinking about a child hurting so much for their Father was heart wrenching. The story did keep me guessing about who it was that was after Murphy. I should of known but was surprised that I could not figure it out. The ending of this story left me conflicted as far as Murphy and Zander and their family went I was so happy for them and their twins but then when Richard shows up and tells Catherine what he demands as a result of the murder of his Son it just made me so mad. Richard's Son's murder may have not been sanctioned by Richard but I guarantee he would of done the same had one of the Sterns been after him. The contract that one of Catherine's granddaughters has to marry his oldest grandson to merge the families just irritated me so much! He has no right! I just hope should the story go on long enough for us to see that day come the Sterns have a grand plan to take down Richard and/or his family. My favorite part of the story was when the twins were born and the Dr. told Zander that they were girls and he passed out. I knew he was going to have girls just because he kept calling them son's and it was priceless.

Art of War is the third book in the Stern Family Saga, and it is Zander and Murphy's story.
Throughout her life, Murphy has been forced to accept what time her father can find to spend with her. At these visits, her dad lavishes her with gifts, but what Murphy really wants is to spend time with her dad. She received a few sporadic visits throughout her childhood when they suddenly just stopped. Fast Forward many years. Murphy gets a letter explaining to her that her father is sick and wants to see her. At first, she chooses to ignore the letter, but when her mother tells her if she doesn't go see him she will end up regretting it, she packs up and heads to Louisiana having no clue how her life is about to change. She isn't in Louisiana long before she discovers there are some pretty powerful people looking for her. You see, her father is in debt to a powerful family, and they want his debt paid. It seems that everyone wants her gone, but they don't know her very well. Murphy is tenacious, and she isn't the type of woman that likes to be bossed around. She tells them all that she is here to stay, and she will claim what belongs to her.
Oh Zander, Zander! What a man you are! Zander is a dominant man who gets whatever or whoever he wants. Then there is Murphy. She is breathtakingly beautiful, and the moment Zander sees her, in his mind, she is already his. And let me just warn you, the chemistry between these two is hot enough to burn down the entire state of Louisiana. Now, their story isn't all rainbows and puppies. These two have some pretty massive fights, and there is a lot of push and pull between them.
This book has a little bit of everything. It has action and danger. It has drama and suspense. Oh, and I can't forget to mention all of the hot sex that takes place throughout the book. I want to give a shout out to this author for her awesome narrative style and for taking the time to give us readers such well developed characters. Next up is Vin, and I think this author is saving the best for last!!

The Stern Family Saga is a series that I'm so far addicted to it's not even funny, so I always devour the newest one as soon as it appears on my kindle, but then I'm super sad when I've finished the story because I NEED MORE INSTANTLY! Monique Orgeron is straight up brilliant at penning such an addictive & excitingly original family headed by a powerful matriarch, that I can't help but admire even when I wanted to throat punch said matriarch. And while each story is about a different son, I really recommend that you read all of them in order to experience the big picture that is Catherine Stern. Art of War is about the third son, Zander, who never wanted to be tied down in a relationship, but that all changes when he literally catches a woman he nicknamed Red. Little does he know that Red is Murphy Larussa, the "man" that he's been trying to find for his family. She's come to New Orleans to say goodbye to the father that she hasn't seen in 12 years, which has made her jaded when it comes to commitment, not to mention take charge of her inheritance. When Murphy comes across Zander, the attraction is instant, so she hooks up with him before she knows who he is. And once everyone knows who everyone else is, the journey takes on an exciting & crazy turn. And that's all that I'm giving away at this time, but know that there is so much more to this story! I really loved the stubborn & independent Murphy, even when I wanted to shake her at different times. And Zander? Well, he was so yummy, but he made several questionable douchey decisions that I wanted to junk punch him more than once in the worst ways, so I did have Murphy's back completely, even when she was being too hard headed. Together they sizzled like nobody's business, so sexy times were so HOT, that they set the sheets on fire! And the cast of secondaries were as colorful as ever, which added more depth & drama to this intense story. Finally, the twists & turns that Ms. Orgeron is so talented at weaving in, had my f-bombs dropping like a war zone. I CANNOT WAIT for Vin's story, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

She did it again, this author just consistently knocks it out of the park. This is the third book in the Stern Family Saga, and I find myself liking each one more than the last. I was waiting for this one since when the first one came out, Zander intrigued me so I couldn't wait for his story and his HEA. I love Murphy for him, she couldn't be more perfect for him, and he's perfect for her but I enjoyed reading them figure it all out. I don't want to give anything away and spoil it, I feel its best to go into this book with no ideas or preconceived notions, trust me you'll thank me for it. This book had me all over the place, but what struck me most was I caught myself more than once with a smile on my face. It was weird, and very uncommon, not laughing or anything, just a smile and a general feeling of warmth. I really enjoyed this story and I think she sets up future book(s) perfectly, I can't wait for Vin's story next, for no other reason than I just want to learn about his background, he's so mysterious! I honestly can't wait for more from this wonderful author, this family is so raw and unapologetic, I love it, and I love them, flaws and all, they are perfect to me. Just wow, I think I need some time to recover, it's probably a good thing the next book won't be out for a little while, not sure my heart could take it LOL.

Monique Oregeron has hit it out of the park with ART OF WAR! She takes two very strong-willed people and sets them on a path of discovery and understanding, and boy does Murphy fight it! But, these two characters are perfect for each other. They mesh easily, and the attraction is instantaneous, even though it is fought.
Murphy only comes to New Orleans to make some type of peace with her past and ends up neck deep in a pond of sharks. But it is a pond she is determined to swim to keep the only legacy she has left from her father safe and in her control. But things take an unexpected twist when she finds out that her father borrowed a large sum of money from an Organized family and used the casino as collateral. Now they want their piece of pie.
Enter Zander. He takes one look at Murphy and BOOM! He is hooked and hooked good. He knows that she is what he wants, and he will do anything to protect her, even go against his own family. The only problem is that Murphy has walls that reach high into the sky that she refuses to drop them. There are reasons for her actions, but she constantly pushes Zander away. Zander splinters her walls, but Murphy is about to find out that there is only so far he can be pushed before he is done.
I swear these two characters are so very hard headed! But I so wanted to smack Murphy at times. But Zander also had his moments where a quick throat punch wouldn’t have been a bad idea. But they are perfect for each other. And more about the matriarch of the Stern family is revealed and boy was that a doozy. But the hits didn’t stop. There is change on the horizon and danger is close.

An absolutely amazing read. This is the third in the Stern family series about a southern mob style family by Monique Oregon. Zander is the enforcer of the family, a player that has no interest in settling down. While searching for the son of a rival casino owner to collect a debt, Zander meets "Red" a fiery confident newbie in town that attracts his attention. As it turns out Red is none other than the "son" Zander is searching for. Giving in to his attraction Zander pursues her despite the potential conflict with his family. As Zander stands up to his family for Murphy, she leads him a merry chance, fighting their attraction at every turn. I loved this story in the series, it might even be my favorite so far. This story starts off from the point of Murphy rather than Zander as you would expect and it gave us a chance know Murphy and her history before hand bringing Zander into the picture. The heat in this story is undeniable. And Zander's unwavering pursuit of Murphy makes him so lovable despite his violent lifestyle. Everyone must read this series, it won't disappoint. I loved every emotional twist and turn in this book, each chapter captured my soul and kept me reading into the wee hours of the night. A fabulous book.

This book flows so seamlessly from Art of Seduction and Art of Forgiveness, with Catherine Stern finally meeting someone with a hell of a lot of sass. Murphy is bullheaded, spoilt, driven, infuriating and unbelievably sassy. She knows what she wants and won’t let anyone tell her otherwise... including Catherine... oh yes, the tête-à-têtes these two have are nail bitingly good.
Strangers from the past reunite and collide and this adds more to the story... if you haven’t read Moniques other books in this series I really recommend doing so as it gives this series so much more context, intrigue and mystery.
Zander, is... something else entirely. He sits in his own realm of badass and is honestly an absolute sweetheart... until he needs to be a collector, in which case not so sweet.
Overall this story was a thrilling read and Monique gives us a sneak peak into future plots and stories she will share with us and let’s not forget Vin... can’t wait to get my hands on that book!

Once again Monique has written another episode in the Stern Family Saga. Highly enjoyable page turner. This time it's Zander the second son's story, The enforcer with a big heart this time he has met his match in a fierce curvy red head. There is so much going on that you almost have to take a break to absorb it all.
Zander pulled in two ways he has always been loyal to his mother but now he finds his loyalty is divided Murphy Lauruso is definitely all woman and not the male heir the Sterns first assumed they would be doing business with.
Murphy has walls so impenetrable, trust is a big thing all she ever wanted was her Daddy's love and acknowledgement. Hard and harsh she brings the giant Zander to his knees but he's not giving up. His background is her red flag but eventually Murphy has to admit there is only one man for her.
Catherine Stern has finally met her match a worthy adversary a mini her. Murphy at first uses her power incorrectly she pulls and pushes against Catherine because she doesn't want to hand her legacy over to the Sterns.
Both Zander and Murphy have some growing up and maturing to do. As always the rest of the family support, advise, show how much they love each other.
Ends on a humdinger of a cliff hanger that won-t be played out for a few decades

Art of War is the the third installment of the Stern Family Saga and is by far my favourite! Zander is Catherine's second son and 'collector' for the debts that are owed to the family and their businesses. Murphy just inherited her father's casino upon his death and is indebted to the Sterns who bought out his loans. When Zander goes to meet Murphy to discuss the business of collecting on the casino, he has an instant attraction to Murphy and knows that she is the one for him. Murphy, despite physically wanting Zander, would prefer to have nothing to do with him. She is very stubborn, spitey and extremely independent. Zander takes everything she dishes out and loves how feisty she is with him. The two have a long and complicated road with each other and I loved every second of it. This book was filled with a little bit of everything including a great cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next novel of the series!

March 12, 2018All I can say is wow. This series get better and better with each book that comes out. This is the 3rd book in the series but all of them can be read as stand alone's but once you read this one you will want to read the other two. This is Zander's and Murphy's story. Zander is sent on a mission to find Murphy but when he does he is in for the shock of his life. Murphy has been hurt and knows that the only one she can depend on is herself and that is what she does. She is fierce and doesn't take crap from anyone and once she and Zander meet well lets just say they will never be the same. At times you will want to throw your kindle or book and say what the hell and at other times you will laugh out loud and then other times you will not see all of the twist and turns that come with the book. All of the other Stern brother's make an appearance. Monique has done it again with this one. Can't wait to see what is next.

I really love this series if you haven't had the chance to read the stern family saga you really need to one click as soon as possible . Art of war can be read as a standalone but I recommend that you start from book one and work your way to this one you wont regret it . There was so many things I didn't see coming to and other parts made me feel super emotional to were I was like WOW and when an author has that power over there readers you just know you are in for one hell of a story that you can't get enough of . I can't wait to see whats to come for Monique Orgeron I'm looking forward to whats to come .

This series just keeps getting better with each book. This time the story focuses on Zander, Cathetines middle son . Zander is an insanely hot bearded hunk who the family call on when situations need sorting and boy does he sort them.
He is frustrated when he can't find Murphy Larusso Jnr who owes the family money and when he finally meets this person,he is blown away. Murphy is all woman, curves sex appeal and fiery red hair....say no more!!.
Murphy gives the Stern family a run for for their money. She won't back down and it's so funny how she even has Zander in a tizz.
Apart from the the obvious lust and hot scenes in this book, there is plenty of surprises, heartache and danger. I was on the edge of my seat at times and couldn't read it fast enough . Zander and Murphy are perfect for each other and their relationship ...a match made in heaven or hell, I'm not quite sure...find out for yourselves and one click this amazing book!!

This is the third installment of the Stern family saga. We get to see Zander and Murphy's relationship develop. I will be honest and say I did not like Murphy for a lot of this book. For all the descriptions of her being "strong and feisty", she seemed very spoiled and immature instead. I absolutely love Zander, he is a perfect combination of tough and sweet, and he moves heaven and earth to be with Murphy. There are twists and turns like crazy in this book, and we learn more about the past and the family matriarch. I even ended up liking Murphy by the end; she grows up a bit and does what she needs to in order to protect her family! There is a great line of supporting characters and I loved the flow of his book! I recommended this book as a very engaging read!!!

If you like your female character head strong, stubborn, determined and curvy then you will love Murphy. She gives Zander one hell of a ride in this book. She refuses to give in to anyone including Catherine. She's determined to do things her own way but soon learns that doesn't happen in the Stern family. This is the ultimate will they or won't they get it together and fall in love. Murphy makes Zander work for it and in turn gives him the biggest shock of his life. This book is phenomenal! I loved every second of it even though Murphy frustrated me at times. I felt Zander's pain every time she turned him down or said she didn't love him. He takes a beating in this book but does it for love. This book will frustrate you at times but I swear it's all worth it in the end. I can't wait to see what happens next on this family, I'm so hooked on them! Great job on an amazing book!

Zander know she is The One for him but how long will it take his Red to figure out if she feels the same.
As usual Monique has brought us a hot steamy book full of suspense and intrigue. I love anything she writes and wait with anticipation for the next one to come!

This series has me so not wanting to put it down. Zander and Murphy’s first meeting is a hot mess until they both find out who the other actually is. Zander is a hot head who doesn’t date and never been in love that is until he meets Murphy or Red to him his nickname for her seeing as she has red hair. Murphy fits against him at every turn she seems at war against him and his family. That is until Zander finds out her secret and that forces her to the family. Wow I loved this series so much it’s a definitely must read that you won’t regret reading and you’ll fall in love with all the characters.

Art of War is the third book in the Stern Family Saga. While each book could be read as a stand alone, you really need to read them in order. Murphy and Zander's story does not disappoint! Murphy is tough lady who doesn't put up with anyone's crap, including Zander's. Zhander has met his match in Murphy and he doesn't know how to handle it. I absolutely love this series, and Monique has to keep giving me more Stern family drama! The women in these books have been put to the test, but they come back stronger than ever. While the men may think they control things, it's the women next to them that really run the show. I want more!!
