Strong Medicine

Rate this book
Being the Chief Medical Officer of a large suburban hospital is challenging for Dr. Aaron “Mitch” Mitchell, with all its problems, including handling board members who want to tell him how to do his job, and professionals who think he isn’t doing it well enough. Add to that the stresses of being the guardian of a pre-teen, and Mitch’s cup is overflowing. The very last thing he wants to do is mix business with pleasure, but that is exactly what happens when he accepts an invitation to a weekend mixer at a friend’s swanky country home.

Mitch isn’t into hooking up. He’s on the wrong side of forty, going bald, slower on the track, and not interested. So why he can’t ignore the impossibly alluring billionaire Alexei Costas is anybody’s guess. The pharmaceuticals magnate is only visiting, and Mitch isn’t shopping. Still, the sparks fly and before they know it, Mitch and Alex are neck deep in a love affair. Then things go wrong, causing them both to question whether or not the love they are finding with each other will be enough to weather the storms that threaten to tarnish Mitch’s reputation and that might lose him his job.

*** I can see why this is a best seller.*** Our delightful gentlemen meet on a weekend getaway of a mutual friend; with swimming, riding and a picnic with the teens, plus drinks and good food. Their reaction to each other is strong.
Mitch, 44, muscled, bald, exotic, is a Doctor/CMO,

raising his teen niece.

Pharmaceutical CEO Alexei/Alex, 38, is blonde with whiskey colored eyes, and a sexy English accent.

Alex and Mitch had talks and laughs, and toe-curling kisses. We hear their back stories and we are excited for these two guys to make a match.

Marvelous characters all around, a riveting tale, with lots of anticipation before steamy sexy times. The side story of the hospital lawsuit is also fascinating. Alex is so fun, and wakes up stiff Mitch to enjoy his life. He's raised his niece Lindy so well.

We see them gradually reach for love and find it. We already know how great they will be together, with Lindy, too, from terrific glimpses of how they blend.

It's a wonderful and fun epilogue that caps it off. Loved it !
ENJOY !

Just ok... I never warmed up to Mitch... he was quite an asshole to Alex and ran hot and cold for most of the book.
Mildly sexy. The end doesn’t explain how these guys are going to be together if each still has his life in another continent. So that was not very satisfying.

I don't know what I expected when I chose this book, but oh boy, am I glad that I did. Highly entertaining, a true romance that felt old school and focused more on building a relationship and trust.

Mitch, as best known to everyone, was a doctor who found himself in management while raising his niece Lindy. I loved their relationship and how affectionate and protective, but firm he was with her.

Alex, a billionaire who felt the need to be hand in hand with his pharmaceutical company personnel given what had happened years earlier, was in the States to promote a research medication. Little did he know that one meeting with the guarded Doctor and Chief Medical Officer would sway him to something he had been protecting his heart from.

From first meeting to the last page, Alex and Mitch radiated heat and seemed perfect for each other. They were each other's conscience and proved that long distanced relationships did have a chance. A must read. One click and try it on for size.

This is another great romance by Max Hudson. Dr. Aaron Mitchell, Chief Medical Officer of a large local hospital has all he can do to bring the hospital back up into balance after he took over after the last CEO who up and resigned suddenly. Not only did his job require long hours, but he was guardian to his thirteen year old niece, Lindy. He adopted her after her mother was killed years before.

Aaron led a private life with no boyfriends or hook-ups in the last couple of years. He didn’t like even his workplace to know much about him and his niece. A friend invites him to her and her husband’s mansion for a weekend party and his niece. He hadn’t gone to their house parties in the last two years and decides to go.

Alexei Costas, a billionaire and public face for his family’s pharmaceutical company is also invited to the party for a weekend to relax from his travels and conferences selling a new cancer product. When the two meet that weekend the attraction is mutual. Aaron does his best to keep away from

Alexei not wanting to complicate his life with someone who would only be in it for the weekend. He wanted to be with someone who wanted to have a committed relationship. Little does Aaron know, that’s what Alexei wants also.

Aaron finally gives in enough to allow a friendship for the two of them to begin with, but it’s becomes obvious in a short while that they both want more than that. It’s a long distance relationship and Alexei does everything he can to see Aaron and his niece as much as possible and their relationship started to grow little by little.

Max Hudson has a wonderful writing skill that captures the essences of the two lovers, their struggles and how the relationship growth spurts happen. It’s very realistic and I was caught up in their emotions. The secrets the two once carried individually are shared, the serious work trouble for Aaron is also shared with Alexei and things heat up and have a way of working out.

This book is added as one of my favorites by Max Hudson, and I would highly recommend the book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced read copy of this book.

Of you enjoy m/m romance, you'll like this one...

Hudson's writing has really improved from his early years. Rather than filling his pages with frantic sex scenes each trying to outdo the next in raunchiness, he's paced them throughout this tale to keep the focus on our two protagonists, Mitch and Alexei, and their inevitable happy-ever-after mixed with ups and downs that strain their evolving romance/relationship. Both are strong men in high-powered jobs with unique skills - Mitch is the Chief Medical Officer of a hospital while Alex is a pharmaceutical company CEO. Their story is poignant and entertaining to watch as it unfolds. Five stars.

Little by little two deeply hurt hearts find the cure, peace, and love they need.
This story brings older CMO Dr. Mitch and CEO pharmaceutical tycoon Alex together. Both have their issues from previous relationships that left deep marks. Although Mitch is extremely skittish all the time, Alex, with his enormous patience convince Mitch that what they have is real.
There are some other issues that they go through as Mitch being legally responsible for his orphan niece, being older and insecure about it, being in the limelight, and so on, all this told by Mr. Hudson expert story telling.
In summary, a good reading.for those who like the genre.

Mitch is busy running a hospital and raising his niece and has no time for a real social life. Until he meets Alex. Mitch is not vocal about being gay so dating a man quietly can be a bit of a challenge. Enter a lawsuit and someone trying to ruin Mitch's career and the fact that Alex owns a pharmaceutical company possibly creating a conflict of interest, things stay interesting and flow steadily.

Really great book.

I loved it. Alex and Mitch had a lot of great chemistry between them. It was easy to empathize with both of them in their reluctance to actually be together. Alex gave Mitch the push he needed to take the next step. Overall the book was wonderfully well written and flowed nicely.

Loved the story, the characters, slowly build romance. And that proposal was soooo just my type!!
What bugged me was that thirteen years old are not that foolish nor that innocent - Lindy seemed blind to what was happening.
Lovely read, overall.

Strong Medicine by Max Hudson. This is Dr. Aaron "Mitch" Mitchell and Alexei Costas' story.

I enjoyed Mitch and Alexei's characters. The supporting characters added to the story too. When these two meet there was definitely an intense attraction. Mitch is dedicated to raising his niece and his job. Alexei is a billionaire and is the public face of his family's company. Will these two take a chance on finding true love?

This story is fun, hot, and some surprising twists.

FYI, contains mature content. This is a M/M gay romance. Kindle Unlimited subscriber

Normally it takes several chapters in order to "get into" the book. This book Strong Medicine had me from the first chapter. In my time reading the book (which i could not put down) all I could think of is how there could be a happy ending? How would the author take two very successful, very busy men who live in different countries along with a child and make their relationship work? Read Strong Medicine and find out. I give it 5 stars!
