THEM: Total Apocalypse is a dark fantasy series that takes readers through a paranormal apocalypse unlike any other. Grim and violent, but also at turns humorous and lighthearted, it’s the perfect read for fans of zombie apocalypse books and apocalypse fiction.

Praise for THEM

“… manages to blend everything I like about zombie novels, vampire hunting novels, dystopian fiction at large, the CW show Supernatural, and John Wayne westerns all in one beautiful, gore-infused shot. This series is a must read for horror enthusiasts and zombie fans alike.

Invasion, Book One

Aidan is a war vet coping with PTSD by isolating himself from the world. After a violent encounter causes him to relapse, he retreats to the only place he feels safe—the deep wilderness of his family’s Hill Country ranch.

But when a surprise nuclear attack forces him from hiding, he finds the world he left behind to be a much different and more deadly place. Now to rescue his aging parents he must traverse a post-apocalyptic landscape populated by violent redneck looters, rogue military factions, and an army of hungry undead.

Aidan knows he’s in a race against the clock, because it’s only a matter of time before his parents’ home is overrun by the walking dead. Will he make it in time, or will he lose the only people left to care about in a world that’s slipped into chaos and madness?

Incursion, Book Two

Former Army Ranger and war vet Scratch Sullivan has adapted well to the zombie apocalypse. Or, as well as can be expected, considering that society has collapsed, the population is decimated, and he hunts the undead for a living...

Still, he's happy enough taking the odd job killing Them and shacking up with his on and off girlfriend, Kara. But when Scratch is tipped off to an undead incursion into the safe zone he protects, he'll be forced to head straight into the heart of the badlands to save their town from utter annihilation.

Along the way, he'll attract an oddball group of companions who'll help him face down hordes of undead, cannibal slavers, and a crazed militia leader who may or may not think he's Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now.

Scratch never asked to lead these people. But with their help, he just might save his friends from a fate worse than death... even if it means trading his own life for theirs in the process.

Counteraction, Book Three

As a hunter in post-apocalyptic central Texas, Scratch Sullivan has survived zombies, vampires, and rogue military units. Heck, he's even the only human ever known to go hand-to-hand with a werewolf, and survive.

But what’s a man to do when the local werewolf pack destroys your town and abducts your best girl? If you’re Scratch Sullivan, you get spittin' mad–and then you get retribution. Even if thousands of undead and an entire pack of ‘thropes sits in your way.

Now he’s on a mission to wipe out the Corridor werewolves and get his girlfriend Kara back, and one thing’s for sure–when he’s done, the pack is

M.D. Massey describes himself as the prototypical INTJ. His eclectic background provides him with a rich tapestry of experiences to draw on when crafting fiction, as evidenced by the believable worlds and relatable characters he creates.

As a former Army combat medic (91B), professional martial arts instructor (Krav Maga, JKD, FMA), and women's self-defense instructor, he possesses a unique understanding of close combat, firearms, and criminal violence that few authors can match. This knowledge provides an element of realism to the Druidverse™ novels, setting them apart from other fantasy series.

Mr. Massey lives in the Texas Hill Country with his family and a huge American bulldog that keeps him company while he writes. When he's not in his office or at the local coffee shop writing, you can find him in his garage pummeling inanimate objects or knife-fighting with his friends.

Excellent Read

I picked these up because Mr. Massey sent my favorite druid over here, and I had to know what happened. I really enjoyed the three books and getting to Colin's adventures here. I'll have to read the rest of this series now as well since I've fallen in love with the characters here add much as i did with the characters from the Junkyard Druid series.
M.D. Massey continues to impress me with the characters he creates and the universe he's created for them to live in. While this series it's a zombie apocalypse story, it's not atypical and that's what makes it interesting. I highly recommend this series as add his other to anyone who enjoys urban fantasy but wants a new twist.

Zombie triple whammy.

Post war zombie apocalypse, with a smattering of werewolves, vampires a tiny hint of magic and a drop in from Colin McCool (Junkyard Druid). Aidan 'Scratch' Sullivan is an ex soldier, making a living as a hunter of the undead. Shortly after a visit to the safe zone where his girlfriend Kara lives he hears about a group of werewolves that have been collecting humans, when he finds out that they have Kara nothing will stop him from tracking them down.

Entertaining

These books were entertaining, in a fairly light way. The writing is good, and the editing is ok.

I ended up having a bit of a problem with the pacing. We moved from pre-apocalypse to new post-apocalypse work order a bit too quickly for my taste.

Very unusual but awesome story

I enjoyed reading this series and really like the idea of the mix between zombie and paranormal. Great combination for a storyline
