I normally don't read this genre of books, but had nothing else so I borrowed one of these books from a friend. Next thing I knew, I had stayed up most of the night enthralled in the book. When I finished reading I went and bought the rest of them lol. Great books that keep you on the edge of your seat until you finish the last page.
James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series, spanning books 1 through 15, is an enthralling exploration of crime, intrigue, and the power of collaboration. From the gripping narratives to the intricately woven plotlines, Patterson captivates readers with each installment, leaving them eagerly anticipating the next twist. What truly sets this series apart is the depth of its characters and the authentic bonds forged within the Women's Murder Club. With each turn of the page, readers are drawn deeper into the lives of Lindsay, Claire, Cindy, and Yuki, rooting for their success and sharing in their triumphs and tribulations. Patterson's skillful blend of suspense and emotion makes this series a standout in the thriller genre, offering readers a thrilling escape into a world of mystery and camaraderie.
For ages I had been looking for a good detective series, as most I had read I found to be quite tedious and dull and lacking interesting characters and twists. I also wanted to find a book or series that had a female heroine and I did - four of them! Four very real and affable women who work for the law in some way and kick butt doing so. From book 1 I was hooked and just devoured each and every page. I've laughed, cried and sometimes screamed at the contents of these books. Detective Lindsay Boxer is an unstoppable force yet also manages to be unfailingly compassionate. I was a Nancy Drew fan throughout my childhood (and still am) and now I'm a fan of Lindsay Boxer and the rest of the woman's murder club.
During this pandemic, I've been sucking down books like they help me breathe or something. Maybe they do. I found this series, and I am very pleasantly surprised at how engaging they are, and what good mysteries they are. Sometimes I want to wring the neck of the protagonist because she takes stupid risks, but I guess that's what makes these a good read, right? I've read 1 and 2 and just borrowed 3 from my library's ebook collection.
Read all the books practically back-to-back, and I genuinely could see the series become a tv show (there was I think a mini-series based on these books which can be found on youtube but I’m unsure the name) as the content fits the classics American crime/thriller format which I think made them easy to read and be engaged in, the twists are there and the books are enjoyable. If you’re looking for a series to keep you engaged for a while this is it.
I started this series years ago and read through the 8th one. A lot more have come out, so I started the series over on audiobook. I love these strong women characters. Easy to listen while driving or cooking dinner. I am enjoying how the characters’ lives develop book to book. The storylines are exciting, if farfetched, so reading is quick. I love the series.
Fifteen books deep and still worth every page. What started with 1st to Die just kept building—characters you actually care about, cases that twist, and the kind of pacing that makes you lose track of time. Patterson knows how to keep the hook sharp, and this series proves it. I flew through these and never once felt like it dragged.
I didn't think I could read 20+ bookes in a calendar year. But I did just that with this series. Well written, in the James Patterson way, with great co-authors. James's bit sized chapters make reading a breeze. Enjoy these ladies but don't cross them.....
Good stories that are murder, mystery and more. My one drawback is that I am never sure of the true author when James Patterson's name is on the cover.
