I'm trapped in a loveless, abusive marriage to a man the whole world thinks is good. He's the pastor of the church I grew up in, and everyone there adores him. So did I before we were wed and I learned the real reason he wanted to call me his wife. I can't go on like this, but leaving him means walking away from my family, my church, and every friend I have besides one.
My best friend Chrissy never cared for my soon to be exhusband, and she's more than willing to help me escape. There's only one problem, her older brother Ryan. He's a friend when almost every one else turned their back on me, but he's also recently released from prison. Ryan is trouble, plain and simple. I know better than to fall for man like him, but it's hard to keep my distance since we live and work together now. Maybe he's really changed, or maybe I'm just a fool for trusting anyone again this soon.
Ryan - Faith is pretty as a picture. She sings like an angel, and she acts like one too. She's all around too good for me, a fact I'm sure she'll see sooner or later, but I figure I've got two choices in the matter. I can walk away now, before someone gets hurt, or I can try to be a better man.
I've made my mistakes, and I can own up to them. Even if I'd never laid eyes on Faith, the last place I want to find myself is inside a jail cell again. Things might end up perfect for the two of us, if not for that crazy preacher she used to be married to. I've already warned him to stay away from her a few times, but some people just don't listen. If he doesn't stop, I'm going to hurt him. If he harms a hair on her head, I might end up behind bars for the rest of my life.

I really enjoyed reading Breaking Free! Renee Fowler is definitely one of my favorite authors to read! This story follows Faith who has was raised and guided heavily by the church. Ryan who is her complete opposite. Raised rough and has experienced a life so different from hers. Their story is such a contrast of light and dark. How things are portrayed in the world, are not really the truth. I definitely recommend it and can’t wait for her next book!
I found this book a little bit drawn out in parts, although weeks, months and even years at a time were skipped. Having said that, the book was great. I wish some things played out differently, but I also like that Renee didn't play to what the reader would want and made things different. The overall plot was great and it was amazing to see Faith blossom once she left the cult. The supporting characters were good, especially Chrissy. Ryan is a total babe, and what happened to him was so sad and unjust. Overall, great story and well worth the money.
