Armed with a dark secret, great reflexes, and an intelligent mind, Erica is ready to set out for college life to change the world.

Though she had scrapped and fought all of her life, she was ready to give up fighting and bear down on her books. That was her plan at lease, until her first night of college when she meets Damien, a hot gym owner who helps her rescue her roommate from a drunken frat boy.

Damien is floored by how bad-ass Erica is. She had an amazing heart and a killer left hook, all of which he fell for immediately. As the owner of the best gym in the county, he knew potential for a great fighter- and lover- when he saw one.

It was a good start to a story, but just that - a start. There is no warning that this is the start to a serial, so take that warning now: no conclusions, just lots of plot thread set-ups and TBC. I don't like serials, but I can deal with them, but I really like to know in advance.

Damien (H) runs a gym and encounters Erica (h) at a frat party, where she's in a fight with a drunken party goer harassing her roommate. He's drawn to her and her fighting skills, and invites her to train with him. She's cautious, still scarred from severe abuse in her childhood, but slowly starts opening up to him. Where will they go from here, in and out of the ring?

It's short, with groundwork laid for more, but little comes to fruition here - the usual set-up of a serial. I just can't give much more than that, as there's just not enough to go on.

For the length of the story, there are a fair number of typos. A few missing words or letters, a few incorrect word choices. She "mauled" over her thoughts, for example.

Alternating 3rd person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle nonsense. Little in the way of plot, other than introducing the characters and getting them together. It's not bad, and I'd like to see where the characters go from here, but serials tend to annoy me and I just can't give an unannounced serial that high a rating.
