Xander has the power to get into the minds of other people.
This book is about one of the twins, Xander. The twins were just babies on the night their father Drake went against protocol and came home for dinner when his family was supposed to be hidden away for their own protection. Agents of Oculus came smashing through the door and killed their mother, shot Drake, and the older boys worked together to kill the intruders. Xander remembers that night, but is not certain if it is real or a dream, but his twin Aiden thinks he does also, so they figure it must be real.
Though what they know for certain is that they ended up with cruel and abusive parents. The twins could sometimes get out of the abuse using their powers by getting into the minds of their parents and forcing them to focus on other things. However, the sister that came along two years after they were placed with the family wasn’t always so lucky. She eventually cracked and murdered the parents. Xander took the rap for the murders and was behind bars at the start of the book.
Two Interpol agents come to see him and make a deal to get him out if he will find and assassinate a woman named Ashtyn who is working for a Turkish smuggler. He agrees on the condition that no charges be brought against his sister and both him and his sister will be free after the job is done. However, we find that Ashtyn is also just working for bad guy Kahn because he is a white slave trader who is holding her sister and has been for years, he keeps lying to Ashtyn and telling her one more job and he will release her.
When Xander and Ashtyn meet, sparks fly and the attraction is immediate, they have steamy sex right away, but both of them know that they mean each other harm. One of them gets the best of the other. I’m not sayin who, but when that person wakes up in the hospital, they immediately go after the other. It is action packed and they are great together.

The story is fast paced and definitely keeps your interest. The characters are easy to connect with, but I felt there could have been more development. I would have liked to know more about Ashtyn’s background, especially as it relates to her current situation. This certainly didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of the story.
You do get a sense of jumping into a story that is already being told, but not to the point of making this hard to understand what the immediate action is about or who the characters of this story are. It mainly affects the back story to the underlying thread of the series.
I haven’t read the first two books in the series – yet. Even though I have probably missed some of the back story in not doing so, there’s enough in this book to make it work as a standalone.
I definitely recommend this as an enjoyable read. I am going to read the first two books and look forward to the next in the series coming out. Ms. Fischer’s books are going on my always TBR list.

It’s quite difficult to explain what I liked in this story without spoiling it. And that’s a good point : there are twists, a little bit of sex, violence, plots and the two main characters are good, even if I didn’t really understand why Ashlyn stayed so long with Khan who obviously lied to her since he kidnapped and abused her sister 6 years ago.
Xander is in prison for murders he didn’t commited, but he is a killer. Two fake agents come to him with a deal : His sister will safe if he kills another killer, Ashlyn. This one has to obey to a drug gangster (Khan) because she hopes to save her sister. When Xander meets Ashlyn, he can’t kill her.

“Hard Wired” is the 3rd installment in the Hard series. The previous books do not have to be read to enjoy this story although you should read the first books. They are amazing and give an insight to the series. Chloe Fischer is an excellent writer and she has proven it again with this book. The story features Xander an assassin who is hired to kill Ashtyn. Ashtyn was running from the Eastern European crime lords and has been trying to keep her sister alive for five years. She is being blackmailed by Khan who has captured her sister. When Xander meets Ashtyn the chemistry sizzles making it difficult for Xander to carry out is assignment. “Hard Wired” is an action-packed read, an intriguing romance and one you MUST READ.

This book is a great read. Unable to put it down after I started it. Fast paced, well developed characters, and an unusual storyline. Starts with a glimpse of a family dinner with a tragic end. Fast forward 25 years and Xander is in prison for a murder that his sister actually did. Two questionable Interpol agents offer him where he would get out of jail and be free. All he has to do is his job--he is an assassin. He is to locate and "take care of" Ashtyn, a Turkish smuggler. She is being made to continue to do this as her boss has her sister in a very bad situation. There is someone looking for Xander also. I received this book free from the author to read and leave an honest review. I am going back to get the previous books.

The story was good. There are few discrepancies between this story and the last involving Drake's second in command Other than that the book began where the last left off as Drake searches for the twins.
This book is Xander's. He is in prison for killing his abusive adoptive parents. He is in there in order to protect his adoptive sister.
Ashtyn is in Paris working for a man named Khan who is sort of a monster. He runs drugs, brothels and lots of other stuff. He has Ashtyn's sister and is using her as leverage to make her work for him.
Xander is given a deal by "Interpol" that if he kills Ashtyn then he will be set free from prison and no one will go after his sister for murder.
I am excited to read the next book in this series!

Great Read!!!
This is the third book in this series and I was unable to put it down after I started it. Fast paced, full of action, well developed characters, hot sex and an unusual storyline. This is the first book I have read by this author. I realize it is the third book in the series, so I feel like there were a few things that would have made more sense if I had read the other books first. That being said, I really loved this book! It is fast-paced, action-packed, and very well-written. The characters are defined well enough that I didn't struggle to connect with them, or get into the story, even though I am jumping in mid series. I loved the chemistry between Xander and Ashtyn, and their strong personalities. After reading this I am definitely going to be buying the first 2 books in the series, and I can't wait for book 4.

This is the third book out of four in the Hard Series. Fast paced, full of action and suspense. No shortage of drama or mystery. Xander is an assassin and Ashtyn is his target . He always completes his jobs and leaves no stone un-turned. Two killers who find themselves attracted to each other. Can't really say more without being a spoiler. This was a great book with complex characters. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review. A really good read. Can't wait for the fourth and final book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review. Let me say that this book surprised me. It started out slow and just a little confusing, but once I grasped the story, and understood Xander and Ash, I loved it! A little more clarity at the beginning might have helped make this a five star book for me but over all, the book is well written.
There was a sufficient amount of steam in this book to fall into the category of "steamy" contemporary romance, but the book could have probably used a couple more encounters between Ashtyn and Xander to make it great.

Wow us all I can say about this book. With each telling of the brothers story we find out a little more about who is chasing them. In this one we find out the two killers arr the perfect match for each other. I really can't wait to see how this series plays out. Keep them coming Chloe. I definitely give it 5 stars. I have read the first two books in this series and I loved those so you can imagine how excited I was to read this, I wasn't disappointed, this is great, it's fast paced and kept me on my toes, I loved Xander and Ashtyn. I believe there will be another book in the series and I can't wait.

This is a very good installment of the Hard Series. The storyline is well-written, full of action, and steam. The characters are defined but more development would be preferred. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Hard Wired by Chloe Fischer was a quick read.
I enjoyed the characters, and the way the story moved along, although, I would have liked for the story to have been longer.
