That Boy and That Wedding are two books that I’ve read, re-read and re-read again. To say that I was anxiously awaiting That Baby to release would be an understatement. The wait was long, and as soon as this book became I available I dropped what I was doing and picked it up! Phillip and Jadyn are one of my favorite couples and Danny Diamond is one of the best fictional characters ever! I loved seeing this trio back and together. They’ve been through a lot- childhood, high school, tragedies, college, engagements, weddings and now… pregnancies. They can get through anything, as long as they have each other.
The only issue I really had with this book was a certain character named Lori… aka SUPER BITCH. I could not take how she acted the entire story. It was bad… really bad. And I felt like she was never truly redeemed. I wanted better for Danny. She really tried my patience through the entire story.
Overall, the final book in the That Boy series was worth the wait. It had the perfect amount of sweet, swoon, humor and emotion that made it such a fantastic read. Jillian’s writing always makes me smile. I love these characters so much- this trio of Jaydn, Phillip and Danny will always hold a special place in my heart!

“So sexy. So gorgeous. I can’t believe you’re my wife."Phillip and JJ are newly weds. The last thing they are expecting is a baby to come along… but life is full of the unexpected. Now that Baby Mac is on the way, life is changing. JJ and Phillip are the best couple. They are so fun and sweet and Phillip is the best husband to JJ. He truly is her prince. I love hearing them banter about the pregnancy and baby to be. Jillian always puts so much humor in her stories, no matter how serious some of the topics may be and I love that about her books.
I giggle. “You’re just talking all pretty because you’re hoping to get lucky tonight.”
“There’s no hope involved. I am lucky. You married me.”
“I’m just saying. I’ve gained ten pounds since you got pregnant.”
“Sympathy weight?” I ask.
“Hell, no! I’m adding bulk so I can whip some ass- particularly the ass of any skinny little punk who thinks he’d like to date my daughter.”

4.5 MacDaddy Stars
I’m a huge fan of this series. Book one sits proudly on my favorite shelf here on Goodreads, while a signed copy sits on a shelf at home. To be honest, Jadyn’s character in book two seemed so different to me and I’m ecstatic to report that the Jadyn I loved in book one has returned for this installment. She has grown up and has become the woman I knew she could be.
Lori, Mrs. Diamonds, however sucked and was downright cruel at times. She was a nightmare of a wife and friend. Lori you’re married to Danny Freaking Diamonds are you kidding me?!!!
These three best friends were on point throughout the whole story. Their banter, love and friendship, will make any reader envious of their bond. They are neighbors and both couples are expecting their first child.
I swooned and melted over sweet Phillip throughout this whole story. His love for his Princess is so beautiful. All fans of the series know just how wonderful Danny Diamond is. I wish that Jillian would please reconsider Danny's future.
Overall, this was a good ending for three characters that hold a special place in my heart.

WHOA...
I was knocked on my butt and SHOCKED quite a few times along the way. I mean it's the final book. I expected to cry. NOT all out bawl the way I did. **laughs to self** Yeah, I truly didn't expect to be so emotional, regardless the impact still lingers days later.
In That Baby the newlyweds (Jadyn and Phillip) learn that they are expecting, which is of course exciting! With "Baby Mac" now on board things slowly start to change in Jadyn's life; some things change for better and some things for worst. There is actually one thing that shook me to my core though. I actually hated a certain character I use to love by the middle of this book. I was utterly disgusted. Jayden may have forgiven this person...I could NOT.
This book, more so like the first one in the series highlights the friendship and very strong bond between Phillip, Jadyn and Danny. Although the dynamics has changed between JJ and her best friends somewhat.
->For one, JJ is a newlywed now married to Phillip(BIG CHANGE)
-->Two, they recently relocated for work
--->Three, brings it full circle with the relocation once again they find themselves neighbors with Danny
While pregnancy is well with Jadyn sadly a shift takes place in a few of her relationships. One marriage spirals and is literally being held on by a thread..IF THAT. Another has interference by a third party and it causes a bit of friction. And still NOTHING can prepare me for the events that take place. ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY NOTHING.

My Thoughts
I loved the tight knit unbreakable I should add, bond that Jadyn, Phillip and Danny had. It was almost on display for readers in a “can’t touch this” manner. Another thing I want to give the author props for is her portrayals of pregnancy. Dodd perfectly shows that in a relationship when a woman is pregnant the changes differ with each woman. I'm talking physically and emotionally. No two women are the same nor is the experience.
Dodd loves to throw in cool elements that keep readers engaged and entertained. The gnome scenes are freaking hilarious. I mean seriously, she takes an inanimate object and has me in hysterics. Phillip's mom and her incessant out of place decorating skills are also hilarious though it truly got on JJ's nerves. Other cool elements in the book would be “Baby Mac” Jayden begins to chronicle her pregnancy journey in a journal for their baby. I found this adorable! Oh and of course Angel was a great addition!
Ok so here's the thing, I'm breezing through the book when suddenly it hits me. Unfortunately while pregnant, Jayden sadly learns that not everyone is team Jayden. Which is sad because no matter how much she tries to be the bigger person there is no pleasing someone who is plain old miserable. And this cut; it cut me deep because you need that support system while pregnant. So for this person to act with such disdain…it hurt.
That’s all I can really say without spoiling the book. Go read it! I highly recommend the series!

Gosh this author redeems one person and downs another.... I loved Jadyn in this book, she totally 110% was the person she needed and wanted to be. She passed the bi*ch baton to Lori, good lord did she ever. I felt towards the end of this book I was reading more for Danny & Lori than Philip & Jay. Wish we could have more to that story line closure. I loved Philip and Jadyn's baby story, they came together perfectly and beautifully.

That Journey
I was in my final semester of nursing school when I stumbled upon a book. This particular book caught my attention because of my unfeigned obsession with the idea of best friends becoming lovers. There is something so incredibly special about the evolution of a love that begins with the purity of friendship. It also makes the build, the tension such an amazing experience. I wanted That Experience. What I got was a journey.
That Boy will forever be one of my favorite books of all time. Sometimes when you read a friends-to-lovers romance, you are briefly told about the friendship. The entire focus of the book begins with the romance, but the relationship has no shape. No foundation. Something is lost. That Boy let me experience the friendship. But it also did more than that. I was seized by so many different facets of love; love between family, friends, lovers. I didn't just experience it, I lived it.
I knew That Baby was coming, so I waited....and waited.
And waited.
Several covers later, and countless re-reads, That Baby finally arrived.
I don't think I realized how much I missed these characters until I was heart deep, existing on a journey that started so many years ago. Jillian has poured so much heart into every single one of her characters.
In past books, Jayden definitely wore the crown for most frustrating female, but in That Baby Lori strips the title and takes it to an entirely new level. It was nice to see so much growth from JJ. Danny and Phillip are exactly the same, but in the most amazing way. However, we do get to experience a few things (both past and present) from Danny's point of view, which only made me love him more. We also get to experience Phillip's point of view during a most heartbreaking moment. These experience were priceless.
The humor was also there, so many laugh out loud moments, but it was the emotional impact of the ending that had me holding on for dear life. So many feels. So many great memories. For some, this series isn't perfect, but it was absolutely perfect for me. Thank you Jillian Dodd for that experience!!

Did everyone else read a different book? We must have because I am not swooning over this one like the other two.
I gave That Boy and That Wedding five stars each. This one damn near got a single star. And I've waited years for this one to come out. Not entirely sure if maybe I just built it up in my head, but I can tell you I'm not happy right now.
Let me start off: it's not worth the 10 bucks that Amazon is charging. 10 dollars for the ebook - are you freaking kidding me?
Also, this review will feature spoilers so beware!
That Baby picks up pretty much where we left off in that wedding. JJ and Phillip are adorable in their happiness. They're moving into their new house and getting settled, finally giving JJ a place of comfort in a world that has often times been too much for her. Without her parents, she hasn't had an official family but no more! She's got Phillip to take care of her.
With her best friend Danny and his wife Lori expecting, baby is always on the brain. While Phillip is eager to start having children, JJ wants some time to just be a couple. So imagine her shock when she finds out she's pregnant. Scared and feeling out of control, she doesn't know what to do about it. Then she slowly starts to realize that maybe it'll be a good thing. The baby wasn't planned, but it belongs to her and Phillip so it can't be that bad.
That's when the book starts going downhill.
What I did like:
Phillip. I adored him much like I did in the earlier books. He's still Elynn Rider swoonworthy and a total prince charming. He stands up for his wife which is definitely an improvement from the earlier books. When someone says something mean, he defends her. He loves JJ and worships her and for that, I found him endearing. His cheesiness pecked at my heart.
Phillip and JJ together. They've spent the earlier books fighting and then getting back together and then fighting again. It was nice to finally have them happy and in love.
What I did not like:
Lori. What the hell did Dodd do to Lori? Everything that was likable about her before is completely gone. She turned her into an unredeemable character. If a friend of mine ever said or did the things that Lori did then we wouldn't be friends! Especially: I think Dodd turned Lori so much that I loathe the character.
Danny and . So what was the point of that?
The religious undertones. Oi. Okay, I know the author is religious and I get that carries over in the writing. I saw it in the first book and I saw it in the second. But this? I'm just saying there is a separate area of the bookstore if that's the type of book she wants to write.
I am so disappointed. Maybe I'm being critical, but I can't get beyond the things I didn't like. I found the series enjoyable and fun and that's how I described it to people. I will not recommend this one though. While I'm glad I can still adore Phillip, I didn't care for the rest.
I gave That Boy and That Wedding five stars each. This one damn near got a single star. And I've waited years for this one to come out. Not entirely sure if maybe I just built it up in my head, but I can tell you I'm not happy right now.
Let me start off: it's not worth the 10 bucks that Amazon is charging. 10 dollars for the ebook - are you freaking kidding me?
Also, this review will feature spoilers so beware!
That Baby picks up pretty much where we left off in that wedding. JJ and Phillip are adorable in their happiness. They're moving into their new house and getting settled, finally giving JJ a place of comfort in a world that has often times been too much for her. Without her parents, she hasn't had an official family but no more! She's got Phillip to take care of her.
With her best friend Danny and his wife Lori expecting, baby is always on the brain. While Phillip is eager to start having children, JJ wants some time to just be a couple. So imagine her shock when she finds out she's pregnant. Scared and feeling out of control, she doesn't know what to do about it. Then she slowly starts to realize that maybe it'll be a good thing. The baby wasn't planned, but it belongs to her and Phillip so it can't be that bad.
That's when the book starts going downhill.
What I did like:
Phillip. I adored him much like I did in the earlier books. He's still Elynn Rider swoonworthy and a total prince charming. He stands up for his wife which is definitely an improvement from the earlier books. When someone says something mean, he defends her. He loves JJ and worships her and for that, I found him endearing. His cheesiness pecked at my heart.
Phillip and JJ together. They've spent the earlier books fighting and then getting back together and then fighting again. It was nice to finally have them happy and in love.
What I did not like:
Lori. What the hell did Dodd do to Lori? Everything that was likable about her before is completely gone. She turned her into an unredeemable character. If a friend of mine ever said or did the things that Lori did then we wouldn't be friends! Especially: I think Dodd turned Lori so much that I loathe the character.
Danny and . So what was the point of that?
The religious undertones. Oi. Okay, I know the author is religious and I get that carries over in the writing. I saw it in the first book and I saw it in the second. But this? I'm just saying there is a separate area of the bookstore if that's the type of book she wants to write.
I am so disappointed. Maybe I'm being critical, but I can't get beyond the things I didn't like. I found the series enjoyable and fun and that's how I described it to people. I will not recommend this one though. While I'm glad I can still adore Phillip, I didn't care for the rest.

I was anxiously waiting for this book to come out. I was a bit worried because of the huge gap between the books. Would I still love the characters the same? Would they still sound the same as what I remembered? Would I like them now since my book tastes have slightly changed?
Yes. Yes to all my doubts.
The humor of JJ, Phillip and Danny was all the same as I remembered. THANK GOODNESS!!
They were still quirky, still in love, still best friends and still pulling pranks.
JJ and Phillip are newly married and very much in love and devoted. They get pregnant sooner than expected and this book is their silly journey to parenthood. I loved that they were very serious about being good parents, but approached it in the only way they know how. Laughter and love. I loved Jayden's humor, her journaling, her pregnancy spunk.
I loved Phillips undying devotion to his pregnant wife and his excitement at become a father. His complete belief in his wife. The way he treated her and spoiled her like a man should to his pregnant wife *wink wink*. They were just so damn cute.
I loved the tight as could be friendship that the three of them still share after all these years.
The only person I didn't like was Lori!! What a friggin bitch she was! I don't care what excuses came about, she was horrible!! And I didn't feel any real reason to forgive her, nor did she do anything redeeming. I wished him to leave that crazy bitch honestly.
Other than that, I loved the families and how they are so supportive of them. I will totally miss these characters!!

Just finished another re-read of this fantastic series (listening to the audio books). Even though I knew what was coming I still felt everything like it was the first time. My eyes welled with tears and my heart broke all over again. This is why I love this author's work, she pulls every emotion out of me. Every. Time.
It is often said that the test of a great relationship is when you add to your family, I often call it ‘inviting children into your relationship.’ They don’t exist without the couple building a relationship first and making the decision to have a family. For a lot of people that decision is taken away from them with those ‘surprise’ pregnancies but they are just as exciting as planning one too.
There is so much excitement and planning involved when you discover you are pregnant Remember those high school conversations you have with your friends about what you will name your first child and what you will be like as a mother? You quickly realise that not all of those decisions are yours to make alone once you are in a relationship.
We follow Phillip & JJ as they find out that they are expecting a baby. We all know how wonderful Phillip is and he does not disappoint in his role as the expectant father. He is so damn sweet and he will have you swooning once again. JJ is pretty laid back about everything and takes each day in her stride, enjoying all the changes and embracing her pregnancy. This is only bringing this couple closer together and even more in love.
‘I walk in on Phillip undressing. He’s in the process of loosening his tie and is only wearing boxer briefs and his dress shirt. I want to grab a bowl of popcorn and watch.’
I wish I could say the same about the neighbours over the fence, Lori & Danny. We all love Danny right? He is Phillip and JJ’s best friend and so much fun. They too are expecting their first baby. Lori has had a rough time of it with illness and as a result is probably a bit resentful of JJ seemingly ‘easy’ pregnancy. However, she very quickly became unlikeable in this story and I still felt that way at the conclusion of this book, which surprised me. I take my hat off to Danny though, we all know people who have gone through similar situations and are no longer together.
JJ and Phillip have quickly become one of my favourite book couples and I loved every step of the journey with them in this story, I laughed with them, got cross on their behalf and cried, a lot. This story will have you feeling everything all over again about your own first pregnancy as we experience all of those important firsts with them. There were moments that I just wanted to climb into the book and hug someone and offer comfort. And yes, I shed many tears too.
There was a very personal journey for the author Jillian Dodd and some of the content is based on her own personal experiences with child birth and I admire her for opening up and sharing this with her readers.
A wonderful conclusion to this fantastic series.

That Baby (That Boy #3) by Jillian Dodd
4 stars!!
This has been one of my most eagerly anticipated books and I have waited years for it to finally come to fruition and I have to say Jillian Dodd did not disappoint. This book killed me in two ways, firstly one character turned into a stark raving loony evil bitch, seriously, we are talking hate on the scale to rival Cathy from Arsen and I thought that was impossible. Then...not only content to make me so angry that I could have combusted Jillian Dodd then shredded my heart, I mean big, fat, ugly tears, uncontrollable sobbing, this book had it all. We have the fun and wit ever present with these characters and we have the anger, the love, angst, tears and smiles, there is something for everyone and those that have followed the characters from the start will love this ending. Jillian Dodd delivered this book in style and if these characters are in your heart as they are mine then you will feel every word, whether it be a bitchy barb or words of heartfelt emotion.
Jayden does a lot of growing up in this book and she truly becomes a mum to be. Learning early on that she is pregnant both Philip and JJ have to embark on a lot of changes, not only have they just got married, also just relocated, now they are expecting and these two handle it brilliantly. One thing that was never in doubt was just how much these two loved each other, they were always there for each other and supported each other, and it was beautiful to read. Philip was the ideal husband and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for JJ, the journal he gave her to catalogue her thoughts as her pregnancy progressed was so thoughtful and also led to some truly amazing entries that had me laughing one minute and crying the next.
Danny is also a huge part of this book and he is also expecting with his wife Lori. What Jillian did amazingly well in this book was to portray how pregnancy can affect two people so differently. I have to say I did not recognise Lori in this book and Danny deserved so much better. She was the most selfish, ungrateful, evil, manipulative bitch, we can all try and pass off her sudden change of character on hormones but this was just ridiculous...she was married to Danny Diamond FGS, what more could I woman want...obviously too much!!
I loved the way that Philip, JJ and Danny remained firm friends despite their personal lives being so busy and hectic, they were always there for each other, they all had each other’s backs and were there as shoulders to cry on or just a fantastic support system. We all need best friends like these.
The scenes with the gnome had me in hysterics, it is amazing how such an obscure, inconspicuous object can bring so many belly laughs to a book, but this just summed up how these three rolled, even as grown-ups the childhood pranksters were never far behind.
The epilogue was perfect except for the fact that Lori was still in it. I am hoping/begging that Jillian Dodd can write another book for Danny, seriously, he needs to get rid, get divorced and find true happiness. While JJ may forgive and forget, for me Lori can never redeem herself and is totally undeserving of Danny’s affections or JJ and Philips friendship. Even motherhood couldn’t make her see the error of her ways...gah...seriously cannot stand this woman.
This was a great finale to a series I have loved. I have always vicariously relived my younger years through Jillian Dodd’s books and this was no different, while it was bitter sweet as it was the end, I had the warm and fuzzies at the end.

I did a series re-read before starting this one, so I already went in starting this one with a certain mindset. And all my worst fears were suddenly almost realized with the dedication. But after reading the book from cover to cover, I can't be mad at the author for taking so long to write it. I may not understand her experiences, but I can definitely sympathize. This is going to be a lengthy review, so you can cut out early or hang on for the ride.
First things first, I fucking love Danny. This guy, man. He's almost larger than life in my mind. Every single girl needs a Danny in their life, I think. He's the fucking best.
Which brings me to Lori.
The mother-in-law thing. I thought it was just a brown-girl thing? No? This happens to white people too? Okay, that was a legitimate revelation to me. But I loved seeing it actually unfold in this story. Maybe it's a motherly thing more than it is cultural. It belonged in the story, I mean. The way their story has been unfolding, this was necessary. It was consistent with the character so far.
Jadyn. Damn, that girl has taken me on a roller coaster of emotions in the last few days. I have huge chunks of each book highlighted that I can use as advice/inspiration in my life/wedding. The way she deals with everything, man, does it take some willpower. How she's almost always so levelheaded, I'll never know.
As for Phillip, I WANT ONE OF MY OWN! Everyone else I've wanted one of so far, fuck them all. This guy takes the fucking cake. This is real life. Like I know of Phillips in real life, and I want one. I love Ryke/Lo/Connor, but they're just not realistic in my world. Phillip? He belongs in my world. That's it. If someone comes across a Phillip, please let me know. I shall forever be indebted to you.

I just want to start off by saying that the authors dedication in the beginning of the book was one giant spoiler. Maybe next time wait until the end of the story to say things like that.
Now for the actual book...what did I just read? I have been looking forward to this book since the previous book ended. I fell in love with these characters in That Boy and while it diminished some in the sequel, the overall series made me happy. With the third book, it just died. I almost wish I hadn't read it and just ended it with That Wedding.
That Baby finds JJ and Phillip happily married and (obviously) expecting. They have their dream jobs, live in their dream house and are down the street from their best friends. Also, all of her friends get pregnant at the same time so it's just perfect *insert eye roll here*.
Throughout the series, the shining point has always been the guys: Phillip and Danny. Two complete opposites who have one of the best friendships I've ever read and they're just fun to read about. They make the scenes they're in more alive. Well, that was true in previous books but not in this one. I don't know how the author lost who these characters were but she really did. Phillip, who in the past was a best friend as well as a rock and a lover, just flat out turned into a prop here. He was only around for sex and compliments. Literally that was the extent of his character.
Danny, who believed in family and marriage and truth, became a liar and asked his friends to lie as well. Emotional cheating is still cheating and putting yourself in that position to where it happens multiple times makes you a douche. Also, shame on JJ and Phillip for allowing it to continue. And Danny, grow a freakin backbone.
Then there's the character of Lori. Oh god, what the author turned her into was horrendous. It's like she needed someone to be so horrible as to show how good and perfect that JJ was. As for Lori herself, after the things she said and did under the constant excuse of "I'm pregnant", I would never have remained friends with her. She was horrible and cruel for no reason.
Ugh, there were just so many things that didn't sit well with me in this one. The religious undertones, the "I'm so perfect" attitudes, the drama fueled by no reason. And the incident at the end - if that was supposed to give me feels...well, it kind of did, but more of the "are you effing serious?" than the ones Dodd probably wanted to create.
This finale was a major disappoint to me and has brought down my thoughts on the entire series. After reading some of Dodd's other work, I have often thought that maybe I was blinded by my love for Phillip in the first two books and that's why I rated them so high. After reading this one, I believe that is true.

Not sure I can find the proper words to sum up the emotional roller coaster for THAT BABY! You're gonna cry, whether from tears of laughter, frustration, pure romantic joy or heartache - tears will be shed. We've all waited so long for this novel and it did not disappoint. I have been a fan of JJ, Phillip & Danny since That Boy came out and believe me the wait was sooo worth it! Thank you, Jillian, for giving them what they needed.

OMG! The wait was so worth it. Thank you Jillian for sharing and writing this story. I don't want to stay too much, just know that the wait was worth it and this is a MUST read!

And done! I can't believe I just read the final book in the That Boy series. I was never one that felt I needed That Baby to conclude Phillip and JJ's journey. I'm glad I got it though. I got to revisit 3 characters that I adored. While it was a bumpy and emotional ride, it came together in a roundabout heartbreakingly beautiful kind of way. I hope readers enjoy the conclusion as much as I did. And thank you Jillian Dodd for once again writing characters that are so easy to fall in love with.

That Baby was definitely worth the wait. It was funny, sweet, sad, relate-able, and altogether a great conclusion to the series. However, I would have liked a little more explanation/resolution than what was provided with the Lori situation. And I didn't really think the $10 price tag was all that reasonable either... Anyway all's well that ends well.
Update 07/27/2015: Well, release date is still listed as August 10, 2015, and now the book is available for pre-order. Dare I get my hopes up? We've gotten this close to the "release date" before, and it was pushed back... but it hasn't been available for pre-order before (except on ibooks), so maybe it's really happening this time!
Update 06/03/2015: Now August 10, 2015. I don't want to sound bitchy but... no matter what the cause for all the push-backs, this has been straight-up ridiculous. I hate to hear about anyone struggling with their health. Health and family should always come first, even for people who have obligations that affect other people... I understand that 100%. What I DON'T understand... why not be honest from the get-go and say that you don't know when the book will be published? Even if you'd already had to postpone the release a couple times... after a couple failures to launch, and what has obviously been a continuing lack of certainty regarding the completion of the book, the responsible thing to do is be honest with your readers and tell them that you just don't know when it will be done. That would have been less frustrating (for readers). Like I've said before, no matter when it comes out, I'm going to read it and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did the first 2, but after all this time, I'm afraid it will be a disappointment and not worth all the waiting.

THAT BABY was a very long pregnancy and I was beginning to wonder if it would ever be born! This has been and remains one of my very favorite New Adult series that I've read. Jillian Dodd just knows how to write emotions and characters who come alive on the pages. And the friendships she created within this series are among the best. I just finished and am blubbering like a baby. What a fabulous ride!
Expect drama, angst, tears, fun and laughter, heartbreak and love - above all else love. The gang is all together again and adapting to marriages (and meddling in-laws, too), careers, buying houses, and starting families. I loved it all. Well, maybe all is stretching it a bit too much. Everything isn't sunshine and roses. Remember I warned you about angst and heart break above. And I certainly had my problems with Lori and wanted to slap her upside the head more than a dozen times. She put poor Danny through the wringer. He tried his best but just didn't seem to do anything right or to her liking. That D-I-V-O-R-C-E word was looking like it might be a good out for him and I definitely wasn't going to complain. She was very unlikable and a raging be-otch. Phillip is still the number one man -- and he rocked this book. I just wanted to curl up next to him and breathe him in. Jadyn was right there by his side so that was impossible for me to accomplish. My that girl impressed me. She's grown up real good.
So yes, the wait was more than worth it -- and Jillian Dodd did a great job wrapping up this beloved series. I'm sad to see it end though.

4.5 stars Loved it in audio! I first tried it in ebook, it was enjoyable, but it just wasn't keeping my interest. When I switched to the audio, I couldn't put it down. The narrator captured Phillip (best boyfriend and husband), Danny, and Jaden's personalities perfectly. I was a little sad and frustrated about Danny's relationship situation- he was way to awesome to put up with that.
The ending and epilogue gave me complete satisfaction!!

It is hard to believe a little over two years ago we started Romance Rewind Blog. In fact, one of the very first review posts we did was for That Boy and That Wedding. (The blog post is so old it even has the original covers and we love them so much we can't bring ourselves to update the post.) That being said, waiting for the release of That Baby has felt like forever! It was a long wait, but now with the last page turned in the story of JJ, Phillip and Danny, we can say without a doubt this book was worth the wait! Each installment in this series has continually proved to be a fantastic read full of humor, emotion and genuine characters, so if you haven't already one clicked That Boy and That Wedding you absolutely need to.
Talk about feeling honored, when we received an advanced copy of That Baby (Thank you JD!) we were beyond excited and thrilled! Once downloaded to the iPad I didn't want to do anything except dive right in, which was virtually impossible until the next day. Talk about torture! Finally the opportunity presented itself I found myself once again back in Jadyn's world, wondering where this journey would take her next. JJ's struggles with grief and stress only make her seem more realistic, but her attitude and humor make her the best. Back from her honeymoon and moving into their new house, life with Phillip couldn't be more perfect, She is super happy as a newlywed, maybe the happiest I've ever seen her in this series. The two pink lines on a pregnancy test are a total surprise and even though she initially panics it doesn't take long before she regains control of her fears. I was so pleased to see her growth so early on and watch as she applies all she has learned in this area from the previous books.
Philip is as sweet and caring as ever. Becoming a husband has made him even more swoon worthy, I know hard to believe but it's the honest truth! JJ is a gift which he not only loves, but cherishes every day of his life and his actions (both small and large) speak volumes as to just how deep those feelings run. He isn't perfect and neither is she but as a reader you never doubt their love and respect for one another. Together as a team they navigate through life's both rough and calm seas, marriage isn't supposed to be easy but seeing two people who want to make it work makes for a truly beautiful story.
Best friends Danny and Lori, who not only live next door, but who are also expecting aid in taking this story to places I never saw coming! Danny is still playing football in the NFL and is as fun loving as you remember, but with Lori's pregnancy come new pressures and stress leaving them unsure of how to find their way back to the same page. I was totally thrown for a loop with Lori and her attitude. I loved her in the previous books, but this one not so much. Every time I thought she couldn't get any worse, she did. I completely understand the reason behind it, but I really wanted to see the "I'm Sorry" scene. I needed to have a play by play so I could get some closure on my end. Yeah, I am the person that holds grudges against fictional characters-Don't judge me! :)
In my opinion the strength, beauty and love of friendship has always been a dominate theme in the previous two books and once again in That Baby. The three amigos remain best friends throughout every difficulty they have ever faced. They are a true picture of friendship, encompassing not only the good but also the bad. This book takes our favorite characters on a journey beyond anything they've ever experienced in the past. Not a single one has been excluded from the bumpy road Jillian Dodd so expertly penned, that's right Jillian has decided none of them are immune to tragedy and difficult circumstances! While some readers may dislike this I personally think it makes the characters more realistic and further brings them to life.
As far as a criticism goes, I would have preferred the entire book be told only from Jadyn's POV with one flip to Phillip. I understand the reason for flash backs, but for me, it was hard to think about the past when I was so caught up and concerned with the present/future. The part of the story I am referencing, without giving to much away, felt too all over the place. I totally get what Jillian Dodd was trying to do but it felt a little rushed and I didn't walk away with the same closure as Jadyn took away from the "experience."
Make sure you read the note at the beginning and end from the author. It will bring so many aspects of this story into perspective and further deepen your journey into this fictional world. When a book makes you laugh, invokes anger, fear and sobbing cries, you know it is worth every moment you take to read it. I would gladly fall in love with these characters and read this entire series again, it was picture perfect.
