This short audiobook only lasts for 23 minutes, yet those few minutes are enough to hook any listener.

Firstly, the clown, Bluebell, on the cover of this audiobook is enough to have potential readers freaked out even before the story begins.

Readers are introduced to Jasper, a regular guy. Someone normal. With normal problems. Out of desperation to help his ailing father, he does something he normally never would.

This leads (somehow) to him discovering a clown doll named BlueBell. This doll will change his life...forever.

It is a difficult task to create characters and a storyline that will
grab and hold a reader's attention in only 23 minutes, yet author Roma Gray accomplishes this with ease.

I did not want this story to end and am thrilled that the story continues with her full length novel HAUNTED HOUSE HARBOR.

Bluebell is narrated by Terry F. Self whose enunciation and pacing are perfect for this creepy tale.

I rate BLUEBELL as 5 out of 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

This is a promo short that introduces the reader to a story that will continue in Haunted House Harbor.

It was well written. We got a lot of backstory on Jasper and his motivations. Jasper's meeting with Blue Bell is supposed to be a life changing event but that's where the story ends so if the reader wants more they have to pick up the full length novel. I would have liked a little bit more meat and felt it ended pretty abruptly but it was a nice teaser. If you're a horror aficionado that appreciates creepy clown dolls this might be for you. I added Haunted House Harbor to my to be read someday pile.

I received a copy of this story for free from Audiobook Boom in return for an honest review. Since I listened to an audio version I should mention that the narrator did a great job and I'd happily pick up other titles using the same narrator.

A bad day, a clown, and a scary tale (an audio review)

I love Roma Gray. She can take less than half an hour and scare the crap out of me. This story starts with action and it doesn’t stop. It captures all the elements of a good horror, bringing in the very personal (Jasper) and extending to humanity’s worst horrors. Now, I’m not fan of clowns – I loved them as a child but as an adult I find them creepy and disturbing – same as Santa Claus (just don’t tell my nieces and nephews). Blue Bell is by far the creepiest clown I’ve ever heard of and I’ll be happy if I never meet them in real life.

Terry F. Self narrates many of Roma’s stories and, again, he did a great job. He carries just the right amount of tension through the story so I’m on the edge of my seat and he never falls into clichés. Really, another great short read.

Another seriously creepy horror tale by the amazing Roma Gray! Ms. Gray has the ability to tell a tale in such a way that you really feel like you are in the story, not just reading a story!

If clowns or ventriloquist dummies scare you, don't read this one! The picture on the cover gives you an idea of what is in store when you listen to this story.

I love old-style horror ala "The Twilight Zone" and "Night Shift" since I was raised watching those shows when I was probably too young to be exposed to them. Ms. Gray writes in the same style and I love it!

Terry Self does an amazing job (again) in his narration of this one. I hope that he continues to narrate for Ms. Gray!

I've listened (audiobooks) to several of Roma Gray's stories. This is the first one in which I felt that there wasn't enough to the story. Maybe it's because I don't have a fear of clowns? I don't know. It's like there was all this buildup to what Jasper was going to do after leaving his brother at the bank, his goal, and family's backstory, but then once the doll is introduced, the story is over with. I am curious to read/listen to the story that features the doll more.

That was fun. It was a great intro to Blue Bell though I wish it had been longer. I am going to have to check out more of the stories around this apocalyptic doll.

Killer Clown

I really enjoyed this story and how our main character comes to find our mysterious and killer clown doll. I would have liked for the story to be longer but I very much look forward to the series it is connected to. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.
