You can’t tame a beast that’s truly wild.
She’s my best friend’s sister.
But I don’t see ‘off limits’. I see a challenge.
Little Ava’s come home with curves in all the right places and a sassy mouth to match.
She’s forbidden forest fruit ripe for the ravaging.
I should stay away. I know that. I’d be betraying my best friend’s trust if I did anything else.
Her family always had the perfect house, the perfect lives.
Hell, they were the descendants of the guy who founded the damn town for f*ck’s sake.
Me? I was just some latchkey kid with a dead dad and anger problems who hung around her brother, getting him into trouble.
I had no place hanging around her back then and I sure as hell don’t have any business doing so now.
But what felt like a craving before, a desire to taste, has suddenly turned into starvation.
There’s no use avoiding or denying it.
I want her.
And I’ll have her.
But I’m going to take her body before I take her heart.

Feral is a full length, standalone bad boy romance where extreme sports aren’t the only way the characters get off. There’s no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA. Includes bonus content for a limited time. Take a walk on the wild side…

Okay.. So this one was definitely hot. Kinda different in that 95% of this book is set outdoors. Which adds a unique quality that's central to the main male character Dean and the way of life for most of the people he's associated with.

This is a slightly intense read for the two main characters, but Ava's older brother Deric, who is also the best friend of Dean is just way too immature for his age. From his set mentality to his reactions for majority of the book. I get that most big brothers are sometimes annoying to their softer sex counterparts, they have in sisters, but he was just too much all the time. So because of that, I will not be reading his book, which is the 2nd one in this series.

I may return for Dex he's more serious and we didn't get much with him here, though he has some major personal issues he was dealing with that I'm intrigued about...

But I would recommend this read. It's a nice heart pumping read, with a heartfelt ending & epilogue to it.

The absurdity! What an absolute clusterfest this book was. I'm going to hold all of my feelings in and focus on the ones that really matter: disbelief. I know this is fiction, but come on. These people had not one, not two, but five encounters with wildlife, three of which happened in 24 hours of each other. Come on people. This isn't even me picking apart the book. This is common sense. The first, if you could even call it that, is just whats-her-face and The Dude hearing a mountain lion off in the distance. Natural enough, I suppose? Not sure on this one. Anyway, spoilers ahead but whatever. It's not ruining much.

Encounter #2: this one with the mama bear and cubs had me going, "OK, alright. This is totally plausible. Let's see how our fearless heroine handles it." Poorly, that's how.

Moving on to Encounter #3: the mountain lion. Which was making moves to have said fearless heroine for lunch. Right. OK. So here I'm thinking, "Hold on. It'll get better. Surely this deranged author isn't going to dream any more wild creatures into existence for our happy couple to encounter. Surely not." Just don't call me Surely. Because she done did it. Where are these people, Narnia?!

ENCOUNTER #4: Mr. Bear with the Broken Paw makes his debut. And let me say, it was a dandy. But totally believable, right? Because injured predators always try to take down prey that's bigger and somewhat less threatening than them. Because going for weak, smaller prey is just too easy for Mr. Bear with the Broken Paw. In case you were wondering, that's sarcasm. Just thought I'd make that clear.

Encounter #5?? (I think; I lost count): OK. So. The Dude and whats-her-face have made up, right? All's well in their unbelievable world. Then big bro finds out, and all hell hits the window. At this point, I'm thinking: "Finally, some action! I wonder if big bro is going to feed The Dude to Mr. Bear? One can hope.... Sadly, it wasn't far off from the truth. Because our gallant author lives in Fantasy Land and has no real concept of the wilderness or wildlife, Mr. Bear comes back for more and takes a swipe at The Dude during the argument where big bro storms off into the woods and The Dude gives heroic chase to patch things up. Enter Mr. Bear, who charges, yes charges, the altercation taking place (where The Dude apparently gets knocked out for three days?????? and winds up in a hospital...), and you've got yourself a real treat.

In all seriousness, this book was terrible. I want my fiction to transport me to a different world because lets face it, I'm depressed and need an escape from my crummy life. Sadly, this book never gave me the chance to escape into it and even made me want to escape back into my own life, which is really telling to how awful this thing was. If you need a good laugh, give this one a try. Just know that is cheesy, overdone Hollywood at its worst and you'll be fine.

P. S. The only thing feral about this book was the wildlife. Dean was a pansy, just saying.

OK, so I am on a "new author" to me binge and well it's been a tough go!!!! I loved the premise and the characters BUT the way the storyline and the characters were played out for me, it was on the immature side:( I felt like there was potential there but I needed more "maturity" in the writing! That's just me and my feelings.

All in all an "ok" read at best but I will definitely give this author another chance:)

Feral by Teagan Kade a five-star read that will have you going wild!! I am a huge fan of this author and loved lots of her books but this one my be my favourite, I have a bit of a soft spot for brothers best friends and this one blew me away. The chemistry between Ava and Dean is just sublime, if it doesn't get you hot then I suggest you may need to get your temperature taken by a doctor!!

It was OK. The story itself was good but there were some annoyances that kept me from truly enjoying it...

Firstly, I hated how Dean kept throwing Ava’s fear of taking chances in her face. It’s not even clear how he knows that about her at all considering it was known to us via her internal monologue. And sure, they might have know each other as kids but they certainly weren’t close (i.e. he didn’t recognize her until someone told him it was her). He pretty much brought up her fear every time they fought. And his example of her “playing it safe” (after she rightfully told him he knows nothing about her - or something to that effect)... was that she didn’t follow her music career. Lol, you know that super-easy-to-break-through-and-everybody-makes-it music industry. She’s such a coward! 😂

And I couldn’t stand how petulant their arguments were. I was hoping for a bit more depth with these characters (especially considering Dean’s history) but it all stayed rather high school.

But, it was what it was. It was an easy, fast read with a fun(ish) storyline, and a little adventure for good measure. The author did a nice job of setting up the other characters for their books.

I thought this book was fantastic! The characters were well written and likable and the sexiness was off the chart. I loved watching the relationship between Dean and Ava grow throughout the book. And while they have their ups and downs everyone walks away happy in the end:)

Feral by Teagan Kade is a bad boy romance novel with a happy ending. In this book we are introduced to Dean. Dean is an avid outdoorsman and he’s just returned to the area that he once called home so many years ago. Dean has suffered from several injuries that destroyed his pro-career, because of bad decisions. Dean is good on the trails, and one evening he comes across a man who is suffering from exposure after getting himself lost. Dean helps the man get help and back to safety. Later that evening when he heads to the local bar, he meets up with an old friend and they come up with an idea. They decide to start their own outdoor business, offering guided tours and hikes in the woods. It’s perfect for them and a great way to do the thing they love. We are also introduced to Ava. Ava is back in town after learning her fiancée was cheating on her with her friend. Ava needs a new job, so she’s back at home for a while to work on getting back on her feet. Her brother sets her up working for him to help with his business so that they can get some structure until she finds something better. Ava is fine with it until her and Dean cross paths. When she was younger Ava had a huge crush on Dean and that infatuation never really left. Dean feels himself being pulled to Ava, but he’s hesitant because he’s friends with her brother. Working with Dean won’t be an easy thing for Ava, but she won’t let her brother or Dean’s attitude stop her from getting what it is she wants.
Feral by Teagan Kade is an engaging outdoor romance novel. The story is engaging as we read along in first person following Dean and Ava. Dean comes off as a straight forward guy. He has his past, but he doesn’t focus on it and mire himself down in it. He’s working in a business that he enjoys with his two other friends and looking to make it as successful as possible. I like that when he sees Ava for the first time in years that he doesn’t recognize her. He thinks she’s just another tourist because of her attire. Of course when Ava’s brother busts in with the news of whom she is it’s a temporary wet blanket for them both. I like that the author uses Deric as a source of humor sprinkled throughout the story. There is some drama throughout between Dean and Ava, as can be expected, but I’m glad that it doesn’t solely revolve around them. The author throws in quite a bit of danger with them being out in the wild during springtime as well.
As much as I enjoyed this story I was a bit disappointed with a couple points in it. Dean is called a half-breed a few times in the story, especially early on. I was hoping that the author would give me an explanation as to why someone would call him that right then. This doesn’t happen. I get a small explanation, but only well into the story nearing the end. Also, I wanted a more thorough background on Dean as well. I was left feeling a bit confused at times as to what exactly he did before he got hurt, and how. The author mentions the World Cup, so I can only guess (without reading the blurb) that he played soccer. It’s never directly addressed in the story, like it has been with other sports related stories by this author. I just felt that there was a bit of a disconnect in a couple of spots.
Overall, this is a really good book. I literally read in a few hours. I have to say that this is probably my favorite one now by this author. The story is fast paced, well written and engaging all the way through. I like the different elements that are brought to the table with this story. For that, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. Despite the few disconnects I felt in the story telling, I feel that the story still carried well. If you are a fan of this author I recommend that you dive into this book and prepare for some outdoor excitement.

After a career-ending injury/scandal, professional mountain biker, Dean, returns to his home town and starts his own ‘adventure tours’ business with his two best friends from school. He keeps to himself and focuses mostly on his business, until one day he meets the first woman that has caught his eye in a while. But he quickly discovers that the woman is Ava, his best friend’s younger sister who is now his employee and strictly off limits.

Dean’s feelings of self-worth have been in the gutter since his own mother chose his stepfather over him, so he definitely doesn’t think he’s good enough for beautiful, successful Ava. Due to that and Dean’s guilt over hiding their relationship from Deric, there’s a lot of push and pull in this story, with Ava doing most of the pushing and Dean doing the pulling away.

Dean hates how much he wants Ava but can’t have her, so he builds his walls high and treats her like crap. But Ava’s no doormat and she pushes back. She didn’t take his gibes lying down and she refused to curl up in a ball and hide. And I loved that.

Feral is sweet and the chemistry is intense and I found myself easily submerged in the pages. My only complaint with the book was the lack of background/detail on some of the characters pasts which I think would’ve helped me connect with them even more.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

OH I think this was one of my all time favorite books by Teagan Kade.
Ava has moved back home after graduating from college, Her mom is so glad
to have her back her brother Deric is as well. I have to say that I did love Deric
even though he was such a playboy and was always out drinking he took care
of his mom and wanted what was best for his little sister, When he offers her a
part time job with the new business that he Dean and Dex.
Dean is part Native American and left the small town of Tamanass behind. He dealt
with prejudice and bigotry all his life, He made it big but lost it all due to a stupid
bet. So Dean has come home. Where he feels at one with the Mountain and forest
he grew up in. Dean Deric and Dex were best friends growing up and always took
off into the woods together. They even had a place they went to hang and hookup with
girls. The three best friends decide to open a Wild adventure tour company. When Deric
tells Dean that he hired Ava to work there part time he is furious, Not only because he
is attracted to her but because of the fact that she is scared of the forest due to an indecent
when she was young.
The attraction between Dean and Ava is OFF THE CHARTS HOT. But Dean is not only worried
about how his best friend is going to react but he feels that he is not good enough for someone
like Ava.
There is a HUGE adventure that Ava and Dean have to endure but the Love they have for each other
is even scarier for them both. This book is one that grabs you from the start and does not let go until
you finish it, and then it stays with you because you are invested in the other characters in the book
I cannot wait to read about Dex and Deric

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Ava and Dean were such a hot and sexy couple. I loved their story. It was full of great chemistry between the two and I loved the setting. Ava has always had a crush on Dean, her brother Deric's best friends. Dean hasn't seen Ava in a while and even though when she was much younger and followed Dean, Deric and their other friend Dex around when they were younger he never minded as much as her brother did. Before she left to go to college Dean started to notice Ava was turning into a beautiful young lady but also knew she was off limits. Now she has returned and Dean can't believe his eyes. He doesn't even recognize her at first when he sees her in the grocery store and starts flirting with her. The three friends have started an outdoor adventure company and Deric has asked Ava to work for him. Dean doesn't think he can keep his distance from Ava and thinks her working for them is a bad idea. The sexual tension between Ava and Dean is off the charts and soon they find themselves giving in. They both agree to keep it a secret for awhile. What will her brother think when he finds out? What is Dex's thoughts about what is going on? This was a wonderful read and I loved the adventures they go on with the groups Dean is leading through the mountains. The older group of women he leads along with the help of Ava was so fun to read. I also enjoyed the part where Dean shows his jealousy when he thinks Ava is on a date with someone else. It definitely forces him to realize Ava is the one for him. Fabulous HEA! This is one of my favorite books by Ms Kade to date.

I received a free copy of this book via InstaFreebie and am voluntarily leaving a review. I did enjoy reading this action adventure romance. It is so engaging that it had my interest from page one and I read it straight through. It is medium paced until we get to the adventure and action. Then it kicks up to a faster pace. The story is about Dean how he grew up against prejudice for being half Native American Indian and then he left the small town of Tamanass and struck it big but lost it all when he had an accident. Even though he had no family in Tamanass he returns because of the woods, mountain and his friends Deric and Dex. Deric's little sister is Ava and has not seen Dean in over eight years. They run into each other at a grocery shop and Dean starts to flirt with her not knowing who she is until her brother comes along and spoils it. The book continues as Ava and Dean struggle with their increased sexual attraction to each other. They go back and forth with confusion and misunderstandings, anger. Dean sets up a Nature Adventure business with Deric and Dex exploring the rapids, mountain climbing, cycling etc. through the wild land. In the story we go on these exciting adventures with Dean and face wild bears, cougars, and more than enough danger to keep you interested. An excellent read. Recommend!

I loved this book. I love a Teagan Kade book anyways but this one was awesome!

Dean and Ava were great. Deric was an *ss and Dex was a thorn. Dean, Deric and Dex decided to start an outdoor excursion type of business together since all they three had different kinds of outdoor experience.

Dean, Deric and Dex have been best buddies since childhood and Ava (Deric's little sister) always wanted in the mix but she was too young and scared of everything. When they were kids she wanted to tag along and they wouldn't let her so she decided she was going anyways and got lost in the woods and was found by Dean some time later. After that she never wanted to be anywhere near the great outdoors. Now she is back in town after losing her job and boyfriend to start over and her mother has the great idea that Ava could work for the three "D's" until she can find something. Oh man, that puts Ava right in Dean's sights and the they end up taking their own excursions.

You have Ava, Dean, Deric, Dex and black bears, brown bears, cougars, the red hat society ladies, scouts and more action and adventure than you can shake a stick at.

A total must read.

When an extreme bike rider, Dean, returns home after suffering injuries he runs into Deric, his best friend from childhood and they decide to start up an adventure business in the forest they grew up in with another friend, Dex, from childhood. They have no administrative help so when Ava, Deric’s sister comes home, they set her up part time to help with calls and bookings. When Dex has to leave for a bit out of town, Dean and Ava start to spend more time together. Problem is the sparks from them are always shooting and when they are alone it’s more intense until they can’t deny it anymore. Dean is scared of love and depending on someone, always taking risks whether professionally or personally and Ava always plays it safe, doesn’t do risk at all. Opposites attract in this story and a great story it is.
I enjoyed this read and I loved the description of the forest when the two end up alone and fighting their way back to civilization. There are steamy scenes, amazing banter between them, beautiful scenery and a bit of suspense as they struggle to survive. I also enjoyed how it all came together in the end and how Ava finally decides that playing it safe isn’t always the way to go.

Ava comes back home after college and her brother offers her a job at his company. There's just one problem with working for her brother its one of his business partners....Dean. Ava has always had feelings for Dean but nothing ever happened. She used to try and follow them when they were kids to find out what they did in their private hideaway. Dean hadn't seen Ava since she got back from college so image his surprise when they gorgeous woman he is flirting with in the grocery store turns out to be Ava. Ava's brother warns Dean away yet again but the attraction is too strong for them to fight for long. And its so explosive they can't even manage to keep it a secret. What happens when Ava's brother finds out? Can Ava convince Dean to give them a chance?

This was an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. This was a well written and very entertaining story that will keep you turning pages until the end. The chemistry between Ava and Dean was blazing hot. I can't wait to see what this author writes next.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.

This is a good book. It started a little slow for me, but then it got very interesting. Dean, Deric, and Dex started an outdoor adventure business in their small home town. This was after Dean had been a hotshot on the biking circuit, but hurt himself and had to quit. Deric’s little sister Ava is back in town after a breakup with her boyfriend. She had a crush on Dean when she was younger, but it looks like she still has one. Dean feels like he is a failure and messes up everything in his life. Dean is attracted to Ava, but doesn’t feel like he can do anything about it because of the bro code.

It was fun watching Dean and Ava try to ignore the sexual tension between the two. It got worse when she started working for the guys at their business. Dean could be a real jerk wad when he wanted to. I liked how Ava challenged him and didn’t put up with his crap. I stayed on the edge of my seat when Dean and Ava were in the woods and Ava was hurt. This turned out being a very good romance. I urge you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

I was hooked on this story from the start-I’m not sure what it is about this author’s writing, but I absolutely adored it. This is the first book I read by this author, and I know I will be carefully going back and one clicking all of the work she has written.
Dean is skillfully blessed when it comes to the outdoors-something many people are amazed with, yet find it hard to navigate through in his town. While out for drinks one night with a friend, they decide they should start a company that includes guided tours. The last thing Dean expects from this start up company is to come face to face with someone from his last
After Ava finds her fiancé cheating on her, she decides she needs a change of scene and moves back to help her brother with his start up business. The only problem-she boy she had a crush on is no longer a boy-and now her brother’s business partner.
Their chemistry was red hot, and like I said before, the story kept me engaged the whole time. It was a quick read, because I was pretty much glued to my kindle. Loved it!

Hungry like the...bear??

This story was well-written and edited. However, I don't usually comment about that, but it was nice not having to fix things in my head as I read. As to Dean and Ava...I really appreciated that Dean wasn't like Deric before he and Ava became an item. I can't stand man-shores and the whole double standard that exists (but that's another story). Anyway, I think that Dean tried to do what HE thought was right for Eva without ever consulting her--typical male. And I know that it was used in the plot to create tension and friction between them. If they had just spoken, so much pain would have been avoided. I thought that the story had a great place to it. I would have liked to have known why the black bears had come to this side of the mountain though--again plot. The last scene in the Den was beautiful. I wished it had been me instead, but it's only fiction. Sigh...I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

So this didn't do it for me. It had real potential with a hot hero and a cute female lead, but everything happened too quickly (IMO), which left too much of the book to read to hold my interest. Basically, they hopped into bed together almost right away, so the opportunity for a lot of hot tension was just missed. Also, I thought the sex scenes were kind of dull. A lot of glossing over and jumping ahead -- boring. I also thought the brother was too much of a pig. I hated the way he spoke in front of his sister. Anyway, who might like this? It is a pretty traditional romance, girl sees girlhood crush again years later, and this time they hook up. Followed by the usual angst and best friend betrayal type stuff. So, that might appeal to some. Also, the sex is not particularly graphic, so if traditional romance (circa 1979) floats your boat....There is a lot of talk about Dean being a "bad boy" but little to no interesting evidence to that effect (sadly IMO). I didn't like this, but don't completely write it off for others.

Teagan Kade is an excellent writer and one of my favorite authors. She has proven again her skill in writing a story that is so compelling that the reader cannot put it down. The story line involves Ava who has just broken up with her boyfriend, is broke and needs a job. Deric is Ava's brother and has opened an adventure tour business with his best friends Dean and Dex. Deric hires Ava to help out. Ava has had a crush on Dean since she was a young girl. When they meet again the chemistry between the two of them is undeniable. Dean attempts to ignore his feelings as he thinks he isn't good enough for Ava and also doesn't want to ruin his friendship with Deric. “Feral” is a roller coaster ride of excitement, tension, suspense, passion, confusion, misunderstanding and of course romance. If you're looking for a well-written book with an excellent plot, steamy sex and love “Feral” is for you. A definite MUST READ.

That has to be the best fitting title for a book I have seen in awhile!
Woo! This walk on the wild side taboo'ed romance was all that, and the energy packed bars that kept them going could be!

A picturesque, nail-biter, full of throw em' to the wall hotness and maddening roadblocks with a romance that unfolds before your eyes as Ann and Dean make the tug of war sexual tension look like a full frontal sexual tension attack that I thoroughly enjoyed and was thoroughly annoyed haha! ( I am one of those, oh for ___ sake get your crap together people)

Teagan Kade outdid herself with this whirlwind storyline; I was not expecting so much plot twisting, suspense rising, humor-laden sexines along the romance trail- but I loved every unique minute of it! I cannot wait to read Deric and Dex's stories!
This is one story I highly suggest checking out!!

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!

Wha a Gem!

I so loved the story with Dean, the handsome, ripped, part Native American who starts an adventure tour business with two of his buddies, Deric an Dex. Dean doesn’t recognize Deric’s beautiful, sexy younger sister, Ava at the grocery store and embarrassed himself by coming on strong with her. He’s totally against hiring her for a part time position with the business when she needs a job because she’s totally off limits and he’s having a difficult time resisting the sexual chemistry. It’s a hot and sexy romance and when Derek catches them together it is enough to break up a friendship and split the family. There’s laughter and tears in this well developed story, I just wish the editing was better. The other stories by Teagan Kade that were offered for free with five star worthy, however the editing throughout the book is in dour need of attention. I’m hopeful that we will find books on Deric and Dex soon!

I have to say that I think this is Ms. Kades best book yet! Now I say that while still loving all her other books, but there was just something about this one. It seemed, to me, so different from any of her other books. This book was more emotional, action packed, and actually less on the steamy side, which I loved for this book. Don’t get me wrong, it still had its steamy moments but they weren’t as in depth or frequent. It was more about Dean and Ava’s journey. For Dean, it was a journey towards healing and realizing he could have what he never thought he could: a normal life. For Ava, it was a journey of conquering her fears and standing up for what she wants: a life with Dean.
This book is so good that even though I received an advanced copy, I still bought it! I highly recommend you buy it too!!

*squeal!!!! *deep breath woo-sah
I was squealing on and off while reading this book. I'm honestly surprised I was still able to get through it in less than 4 hours, since it's difficult to read and squeal at the same time. I have never had a single complaint about Teagan Kade's writing, except for the fact that I am incredibly impatient and want the next book to be published tomorrow.
Feral was perfect. The characters were written flawlessly. Their story draws you in to where you dont ever want to leave. And the ending. Oh the ending caused me to nearly drop my kindle from more squealing and a weird happy dance thing.
Long story short. I loved the book.
I highly recommend YOU read the book.

There is Dean who comes back to his hometown after he has an accident that ends his career. He opens an adventure sports bsiness with his high school friends. He also is just out of a relationship and not looking to start anything new. Then there is Ava who just moved home after a bitter breakup with her ex who cheated on her. She is unemployed and her brother offers her a job at the adventure office. Ava is the forbidden fruit that Dean never got to taste as she is his best friend's little sister. But she is not little any longer. He is her childhood crush who is now a goregous man. Ava also is deathly afraid of the woods after a bad childhood experience. Will Dean be able to help her? Will she start taking risks in her life and love life? You'll need to read the book to find out. Enjoy.

I volntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book.

Feral and Blaze 5 star books!

Feral came with a few bonus books, one of them being Blaze. Both really good books that you can't pass up. Both have great characters that grab your attention and your heart. Both stories pull you in and make you forget where you are. In Feral I spent a few hours out in the wilderness with black bears, cougar, and a really hot outdoors guide that you wish you could get your hands on.
Blaze takes place at a firefighters academy with some rally hot characters and let me tell you, I literally LOL'd when they are in the hot springs.... that scene alone was worth reading this book! Great story with action, sexy, love, and crazy drama/twist or whatever you want to call it, at the end. I pretty much spent the whole day reading both stories... it was a great day! Go grab these books now.. so worth it!!!

OMG!! I loved this book! I just couldn't stop reading it! I was so glad I started reading it on the weekend so I could finish reading it nonstop!!

I loved how Dean and Ava first met and how he felt towards her. Then big brother Deric keeps putting these two together. First by Ava working with them, leaving her along at the Den with Dean, going to Gracie's to met up for drinks and so on... Then when the Red Hat Society groups insist Ava comes along for their adventure, I know those ladies feel Dean and Ava are distended to be together. It's just a wild adventure with Dean saving Ava and her in the end doing the same for him. I was so happy at he end with what Dean did for Ava at the Den, it was just so perfect.

I will continue to read all of Teagan Kade's books as I CAN NOT get enough!!!
