"I can feel it," Nadya said, her voice taking on a deadly tone. "I can promise you, it will be far worse this time. Stop this now while you can."
Five thousand years ago, Nadya lost her human appetite only to develop a new one... a deadlier one. A new demon queen has risen, creating incredible loss and destruction within moments of her rebirth. The dragon guardians on the mountain have protected humans for thousands of years, but have never seen anything like her.
In more modern times, the war still wages on, and has had dire consequences on the king--driving him mad. The exile of one of their own, one of their strongest, may just be the sign of weakness the vampire queen has needed all along...
This is the most exhausting, boring book I have ever read and the worst part is, it came packaged in a kindle series and I had no idea that’s what would start us out.
Maybe if the series that I THOUGHT I was going to read is any good, I will circle back with my thoughts on this origin story… but for now, I suspect this would have been better read AFTER the series to add more depth and dimension. Because as of this moment, I have zero compassion or connection with any of what I’ve just read. Only irritation and impatience.
But I really wondered where this was going with Nadya. Now I have a lot of questions. What did the witch do? What was the back story with the witch? Why did Macys kill her adopted parents? What happened during the 5000 yeats? What is the back story on the dragons? The story seems kind of incomplete.
Nadya the vampire/demon Queen has a sad and troubled beginning. Luca, the Crown Prince, is sent into exile to protect him. The prequel sets up the first book, The Dark Professor, which I have already read and liked.
Very good start to the series. It introduced the main characters of the series and gave you an idea of the story. It also left plenty of questions and I am excited to read the series to get the answers.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
