A new Temptation in Florence book is a cause for celebration. Love Carolina and the Mantoni family! I've read each of the books as they've come out, so these people are old friends to me. Elegant Death is extra special - Carlina and Stefano are finally getting married. Having been part of their romance from the beginning, I can't wait for the wedding. Who doesn't love a wedding? I know, though, there will be complications to this one. Despite Carolina's best efforts, her family will be hilariously involved. And, of course, there will be murder. Beate Boeker has a keen eye for the frailty of human beings. She shows them at their best and worst and does it with humor and generosity. In this book, she and Stefano are forced to spend part of their honeymoon proving her brother did not murder his glamorous fiancee - with plenty of help from her mother and aunt, resulting in more than one laugh-out-loud situation. There was one scene in a sauna that I enjoyed so much I wen back and re-read just for the fun of it. If you like to laugh, you'll love this book. Plus, it's the next best thing to a trip to Italy. (I think I've probably said that before about one of Boeker's books, but it bears repeating because it's true.)
