One Too Many

Rate this book
A filthy proposition. Too much money to say no. One dirty night in a stranger's bed. While my husband watches. It should've been a dream. A new life on the coast, running a beautiful country hotel with my husband. It should have been everything I'd ever wanted. Worth every scrap of investment. A hotel business we'd sunken every single penny we owned into, only to find out there was a big chain rival opening just a stone's throw away. Slowly, day by day, the dream became a nightmare. Bills. So many bills. Sleepless nights, tossing and turning. No way out in sight. Until there was him. The man at the bar. The man with a proposition we should never have considered in a thousand years . . . Me. Him. One long night where I'm subject to his every fantasy. While my husband watches. Contains mature themes.

Genre: Erotic Romance
Type: Standalone
POV: First Person – Multiple
Rating:

Brett and Grace Foster had a dream of living the life they always wanted. The dream came true but paradise was short lived when their dream quickly becoming a burden that pulled them apart. Salvation came in the form of Thomas Heath, a man who knew what he wanted and went for it. But things turned out to be more complicated than any of them could predict.

My balls ached with the horrible notion that I’d be thinking about another man’s cock in Grace’s pussy when I was buried deep inside her forever more.

This book is much more than filth - and it is filthy that's for sure, but also full of heart and values. The dynamic between the three characters were intriguing not only in the sexual encounters but also their individual interactions. The characters' evolution was excellent. I like seeing the desperation, the pain and the closure from each of them.

In and out together, both of us in unison, filling her to bursting, then leaving her hanging loose and winking for more, over and over and fucking over, until we were only flesh seeking more.

Now speaking of the sex, if you like it clean and conventional better stay away from this one lol! It's hot. It's dirty. It's unapologetic. Moral judgments be damned :p

One Too Many is a story of exploring possibilities. It would appeal to readers who like sexy erotic story with heart.

Note:
I love how the book ended except for one aspect of it. I like how the character got closure but I don't like the direction it's going so I don't want the "future" to happen lol!

A failing business venture causes a married couple to consider an indecent proposal.

Everyone has a price. Everyone. Ours was fifty fucking grand and a life without fearing the postman every bastard morning.

Nine hours with a stranger. One who seemed to be just another pretentious and rich businessman without a hint of sinister intentions, but then the psychological games begin...

Claiming that shadowy side of her blossoming sexuality would be the ultimate prize, and the one that would leave her raw and desperate in the aftermath, an addict craving more.

In sum? This was a smutty read with substance. The intimacy scenes were very descriptive, the language graphic, and the characters very amusing. But I didn’t develop any real fondness towards any of the characters.

▷ This is a great story for erotica readers who enjoy filthy dialogue. It’s a nice taboo treat with a twist but also a lengthy book. Overall, an okay read.

ARC-BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-26/2/18

"One Too Many" for me was such an interesting and diverse read.
Whilst not my favourite of Jade's books I still enjoyed and appreciated this very much.
This was certainly a very different read from the norm and I think that is what I found so intriguing about this.
The emotions explored here were very easy to get lost in and I found that this did manage to convey to me the deep sentiment that comes from knowing your partner inside out.
Perhaps not as much so in the beginning, But certainly later when Bret and Grace started to reconnect within there relationship.
Also, a side effect brought forth unwittingly by Thomas.
So what did I love about "One Too Many"
Well Brett and Grace's marriage, it was like a warm welcoming hug.
There closeness and acceptance of each other but also that fact that they were flawed normal individuals, Was so refreshing to behold.
There eventual affection and support towards Thomas was also extremely endearing.
I loved that they had the ability to just accept things at face value. But also, the ability to question things when it was actually needed, does that even make sense.
The fact that this book and the story was just so normal, no tricks or gimmicks just folks trying to live there lives the best way they can, I loved that about "One Too Many".
And OMG can I just say those bedroom antics,
HOT HOT HOT!!!!

 photo mrgrxM_zpsnrj2kdgj.gif

Fanning myself here big style girls.
Joking aside the bedroom scenes here were amazing and compelling, so well written, It wasn't just sex you could actually feel the tenderness and sentiment and also the playfulness behind the filth and corruption.
There was also perhaps a deeper message to convey here, a moral one, is it actually worth the risk to destroy something so precious as the love and trust in a union over money.
Could one night actually destroy a lifetime of affection and trust.
finally, I really liked how this jumped from each characters POV.
I felt much closer to all three from getting to play in each of their heads for a short time.
What did I have slight issues with, well it's actually a short list and these are just my own personal observations.
So here you are,
I wasn't really a mega fan of the ending.

So that's it from me, this is a fabulously unusual read that you really should give a chance too.
I don't think you'll regret it.
I was provided with an ARC of "One Too Many" By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I did enjoy this story but I kind of thought the beginning dragged a little too much. The build up to Thomas and Grace having sex seemed to take forever and intertwined with all of the marriage scenes with Grace and Brett there were hints of some deeper reason Thomas was even there yet not enough to keep me interested in that part of the story. Instead I was getting a little impatient to get to the actual bones of the story. But once we hit that mark in the book the pace picked up a lot and I really enjoyed reading it from there.

3 Twisty Stars

Full disclosure: that ending pissed me off. Like to the point that I wouldn't recommend this at all and took off a couple stars. If I'm going to read a menage book, it needs to be an actual menage relationship, not the whole book being about the three of them, and then one of them leaving to be with someone else at the end. I get why it's weird for him to have been in a relationship with them, but for him to be falling in love with the heroine, and vice versa, and then for him to leave to be with the one who has always been there for him at the end, pretty much only because he couldn't be with the heroine and other hero, is disgusting. The one who he had used and abused for so long, who has done NOTHING to him except show that she loves him and he's worth everything. The one who was there for him while the main heroine and hero never cared for him and while he was bullied in his school years. Just for him to leave her and scr*w the entire town and sleep with married women. Polly deserves WAY more than him. Especially since Thomas had been falling in love with the heroine, someone who is NOT polly. And he expects he can just go back to her and apologize and get married and be happy?? TF! And it sucks knowing Polly is most likely going to easily take him back since she was pining after him the whole time. Then he goes on saying the next time he will see the hero and heroine is hopefully with his new bride, Polly. F*ck that and f*ck thomas. What a great family reunion. Polly deserves better than that trash. And what a half assed ending (Also me being more passionate about a side character tells A LOT).

A year ago, Grace and Brett Foster decided to leave the bustle of the London and purchased a seaside inn. Despite hard work and effort, the business isn’t a financial success and they need to find a way to save their dream. With finances becoming burden on their marriage, all seems to be diminishing. Not having many options, Grace and Brett are determined to make it all work and when a mysterious handsome man offers a proposition, they ponder the consequences.

“So much fucking cash. Everyone has a price. Everyone.”

Thomas Heath is a successful businessman with his own agenda. Upon staying at the Foster’s B&B and overhearing a private conversation, Thomas decides to intervene with a financial incentive. Knowing Grace is attracted to him and that Brett is considering the offer as well, Thomas wants to seize this opportunity.

“The sonofabitch needed to fuck my wife while I watched, just as much as we needed the money he was offering for doing it. It put us strangely on par.”

With this indecent proposal on the line, Grace and Brett process what the money would mean to them. When the night arrives, certain rules apply but even so, Thomas is in full control and Grace responds to his authority and ministrations. Between them, there is passion and which leads to incredibly hot and dirty scenes. Watching their interaction, Brett must hold back his insecurities and get a hold on his lust until he can reclaim his wife.

“She kissed him like she wanted him, because she fucking did. I watched my wife kiss another man with a pain like I’d never felt, right in my gut as my fucking cock kept on throbbing.”

What ensues is a storyline that offers not just erotica but also an unexpected departure into the difficulties of marriage and complacency within oneself. Additionally, the element that brings Thomas to the Foster’s lives was a surprise and continued to develop by adding dimension Thomas’ character. As Grace, Brett and Thomas seem to move forward, more complications arise.

As always, Jade West’s characters have a realness offering relatable vulnerability as Grace and Brett must discover whether their foundation is solid. With Thomas, his evolution is more complex and isn’t necessarily related to something he can control. His dominant side is so sexy but his softer side is also very appealing. I really liked Brett and how he showed his true compassion and love for family. Of course, could Grace be any luckier in her situation? Lol. But seriously, she holds her own and I admired her strength as well. As these three learn more than they could ever had hoped, achieving unity becomes their goal.

Needless to say, this one ticked many boxes for me. It had hot and filthy times but I was also invested in each character and how it would all turn out. One Too Many would appeal to those seeking erotica at its finest and also a story with a heart. I highly recommend.

“One too many. It’s always that one that sends you over the edge.”

This is not an unfamiliar trope for a storyline. Wielding her pen, the sword of her imagination, Ms. West has created a masterwork with this trope with a story that involves the progressive development of primarily the two male characters with a deliciously dirty deviant delve in the dynamics of a MMF ménage.

Brett and Grace Foster are celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary in a state of despair. They had invested the inheritance Brett received from his Stepfather (really the man he considered his Father), into the purchase of a resort inn along the seaside of Wales. It was far away from the high-pressure jobs they both had in the city and it was their dream or maybe mostly Grace’s dream to run a successful business making people comfortable, happy and relaxed in this beautiful place.
They were vulnerable and ripe for the pickings. While discussing their distressing impending bankrupt financial situation, a stranger, Thomas Heath, steps from the shadows and offers them a lifeline. He begins bargaining for an uninhibited night of full use of Grace’s body from 9:00 pm until sunrise. The price is set at $50,000 pounds. Brett must also be in the room to watch the entire night.

Both Grace and Brett are almost in the state of shock as they agree to the filthy things Thomas describes he will do to Grace during their evening. He sets a date a few days ahead and orders numerous parcels in preparation for the evening. Grace is turned on even though she does not wish to be. The desire of Thomas Heath is a potent aphrodisiac. Along with her secret (or perhaps not so secret to Brett) desire, is the fear that she is truly not worth the amount of money Thomas Heath is willing to spend. Brett is fuming mad but in angry, but futile, denial. He cannot control how incredibly turned on he is at the filthy things Thomas Heath has discussed doing to his wife.

Thomas Heath has more than perverse pleasure at attempting to rock a solid marriage to its foundation as his agenda. This one is personal. He knows Brett and Grace from days long passed during their formative years in school growing up in the same home town. They have injured him unforgivably and the reader is not privy until near the end of the story as to the nature of his grudge and the source of his desire to wrest Grace away from her husband Brett. He has done this before many times and is jaded by the fact that the couples he has similarly proposed, placed greed above the sanctity of their marriage and the money they receive is poor comfort to the failed marriage they experience because of compromising the intimacy in their marriage.

Thomas Heath proves to be a patient and practiced lover. He is an extraordinary Dominant maestro of pleasure pushing Grace beyond her physical, mental and even emotional limits. He exerts superhuman control over his beautiful physique giving Grace moments of keening pleasure after pleasure. Brett has never seen his beautiful wife in this state and he is restrained electronically in his seat to insure he is not a participant or he loses all the money. He is intensely conflicted. He is painfully aroused and astonished at the depth of his wife’s capacity for rougher sexual exploits and not a little jealous.

After Thomas Heath leaves Brett and Grace, they struggle in the aftermath of the master cocksman that Heath proved to be, and Brett initially has little success in emulating this master. Eventually through love and perseverance, Brett has a revelation which turns his whole world right again. He becomes both a fighter for the business and every bit the skilled Dominant lover for his lovely Grace. Thomas Heath seriously thought that Grace would come to him leaving Brett behind after about a month’s time. Heath is surprised by the gauntlet that is laid down when Brett calls him instead inviting him to a rematch. This time both Brett and Thomas would pleasure Grace, and may the best man win. There is some naughty, dirty effery happening this night. This is a dream come true for Grace. Two men at the same time. Reading this is certainly not for the faint of heart. Lordy…this is heady, potent narration. However, soon a major revelation has the tables turned once again on this threesome.

It is surprising then that this über sexual exploration of interpersonal dynamics and desire has at its roots the strongest sense of morality without judging what occurred between consenting adults. Loving couples need something sacred for themselves despite all the inherent thrills in sexual explorations. Another person within the intimacy of the couple is “one too many”. Even serial sex itself without love and connection can eventually seem like “one too many” when the last partner you had unexpectedly breaks your heart. A life of vengeance is a waste and family is worth sacrificing for always.

Standalone Erotica/Ménage Romance

A filthy version of the movie Indecent Proposal. Millionaire Thomas Heath offers Brett & Grace Foster a lot of money so they can save their hotel, in exchange for sex with Grace while her husband watches.

It was all part of a revenge scheme against Brett. And it didn't work for me. Ugh, I blame myself for not DNFing. I finished it because I wanted to know what would happen with Brett & Grace. I did like them, especially Brett.

It started out promising but ultimately, Thomas ruined it for me. I really disliked him. His backstory and his excuses for being the way he was--cold and full of bitter vengeance--did nothing to make me feel sorry for him or even empathetic. The sex scenes between him and Grace felt raunchy. Some of the kink here is not my cuppa, to be honest. I mean, there were parts that were definitely hot, but mostly, I found myself cringing. Thomas was detached and mechanical, and to me, it only cheapened the whole thing. I might as well have been watching trashy porn. Side Note: The only other book I've read with degradation kink is Degradation (The Kane Trilogy), and it absolutely worked in that one. In this book, it felt off and wrong. However, these are just my personal opinions. I know other readers highly enjoyed the story. So take my views with a grain of salt.

Sometimes an erotic story is mostly erotica. Sometimes there's a good balance between the sex and the story. Jade West knows how to intertwine the filthiest of fantasies with dialogue, setting, emotion, storyline, and everything that's needed for an incredible reading experience.

You're instantly transported into her world, a fly on the wall, watching with eyes wide open, jaw reaching toward the floor.

This was incredibly well done.

The anticipation, the genuine way the characters' inner thoughts came across.
Their actions and how relate able they were.

And that first 9 hour sex scene? Absofuckinglutely MOLTEN HOT. I had to stop part-way and rub one out.
NO JOKE.

The second one? Aye chihuauhua. I don't even have words. Etc. etc.
Jade BRINGS the sex. Whoa, does she!
But her books aren't just great sex.

And the ensuing story? The fall-out. The second-guessing. The twist. The mind fucking. The rising of Brett from the ashes of his failures? The way Thomas was someone you could relate to, was utterly delicious, and the bad guy all at the same time? Wow. Just wow.
Wow.wow.wow.
And then at the 90% mark, I got caught ugly-crying by my hubs.
This book. SO so memorable.

Anyone who wants to believe in the possibility of forever before this book --- Jade West solidifies it with the way this played out.
And then after you get what you want, everything you want....she then goes ahead and heaps so much more goodness on top of it.
Bravo. Fucking bravo.

4.5 stars WOW http://amzn.to/2p3SW7X

Wow, just Wow… I need to really try to figure out how to put my love of this story into words.

As the blurb suggested this book was hot, like smoking hot but it was so much more than that… even it in filthiest moments while one character was trying to use pleasure to control another was pushing for an emotional connection that would turn the tide.
I know I know sooooo vague you see that is intentional as I want the reader to truly experience this book as I did in all its sweet, hot, emotionally charged glory.

But I digress you see I was in a book funk, struggling to even pick up my kindle so I did something haven’t done is so long… I read a blurb and 1-clicked knowing nothing else about the book and wow am I glad I did.

The reader meets Grace and Brett Foster up to their eye balls in debt… with a mystery and wealthy man offering a solution.. a hot one… Thomas as the blurb reveals offers a solution in exchange for a night with Grace while her husband watches.

The lead up to this offer really allows the reader to buy into them accepting the proposition.

I am not really sure I want to say much more, the story unfolds in beautifully written, soul touching and panty wetting fashion. One that keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know where this story will go.

I do want to say I never ever not once questioned Grace and Brett’s love for each other. Their relationship was beyond solid even when they fought; the happy the seek continued to grow as all good relationships should if they want to be together forever.

Thomas well Thomas is something else.. and as Thomas opens up about Tom yes vague I know, this book takes the cast and reader to a whole new level of did that just happen!

In the end WOW, just WOW….. the epilogue to this sweety, hot book brought tears to my eyes and the emotion pulled from the reader really speaks to the authors talent!

I did have one big major issue with this book….I read it too fast… a few times I did force myself to read slower, to enjoy the story but time and time again I keep upping my reading speed because I really wanted to know where this one was going and how the author was going to pull it off.

4.5 filthy, meaningful stars!

I've developed somewhat of an affinity for Jade West, so I knew going in that I would enjoy this book. What I didn't expect was the suspense, the character development, and raw emotion. The filthy hot sex, though? Totally expected that from my girl.

I'm not going to go into much of the plot because this book is best delved into blind. Grace and Brett are married and have happened upon tough times. Thomas makes an offer they can't refuse, but the mysterious outsider seems to have motives. Grace and Brett are special, though, and the rules don't apply to them.

Grace, Brett, and Thomas are all developed characters, deeply flawed in the way humans are. I rolled my eyes plenty of times in this book, and I became nervous at one point that the ending would be too unrealistic, the easy way out. Thankfully, Jade went a different route, and that's what made this book damn near perfect. I only deducted a half-star for the sappy parts, when Jade went a bit too far turning filthy sex into something more, but damn was the filthy sex hot.

I will say this: the first half of the book is dark and foreboding. I didn't necessarily enjoy it, but I couldn't stop reading. The second half, things take a turn. So stick with it if you aren't sure at the beginning.

Not proud like I was proud, with ice at the edges of every sentence. Proud like a guy who loved his wife and shrugged off his lot in life as more than enough.
Maybe it was more than enough.

DNF at 74%. I really didn’t want to give up on this but it just was not doing it for me. I kept trying to read it in small doses but fuck, I was pretty bored. Even during the sex. It became a game and honestly, that game didn’t seem that much fun.

4+ Erotic and Forbidden Yet Strangely Tender Stars!!!

”Fifty grand. Fifty grand and I watch your every fucking move.”

Let me just say that Indecent Proposal, to this day, is one of my absolute favorite movies. So as soon as I read the blurb for this book, I was all over it like white on rice!

”Everyone has a price. Everyone. Ours was fifty fucking grand and a life without fearing the postman every bastard morning.”

This author continues to surprise me. Not because of how great her books are, because I’ve already come to expect that, but because of how hugely undervalued she is, in my opinion. To me, she has a talent that is up there with Tiffany Reisz when it comes to story telling with depth in the Erotica genre.

Picked this one up because I knew it would be a spicy little number (and IT WAS) but it ended up being SOOO much more.

“It’s just one night,” I whispered. “What harm can one stupid little night do?”
“And I’ll be right there,” he replied. “No matter what.”

Oh boy. Y’all don’t even know. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I got sucked in and once I reached the 70% mark, I gobbled it up in one sitting. Really amazing story with a ton of depth and emotion. I was so fully invested in these characters by the end and the very complex ways in which they were connected.

West does have a tendency to be a bit wordy sometimes. That was the only reason it wasn’t a five star read for me personally. If she’d invest in a content editor, I think it would help make her work even better...like to the point of flawless. Her ability to put a plot together and her character development is phenomenal. She just needs to trim that fat a bit. I’ve seen this mentioned on other reviews of her work.

Otherwise? Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Would love to read more about Thomas’s journey. ❤️

How does Jade West freaking do it?!?!?! This book needs to be in the Olympics for smut books or something, cause hot damnnnnnnnn. I will read anything this women publishes.

How is it that she's one of the very few authors ill read for unsafe books? Because let me tell you, nothing is safe about this book; take one look at the cover and you got your answer. It must be the character development, because it was seriously exciting to watch this book unfold. It always helps when the heroine isn't a complete imbecile. Also helps when theres endless amounts of chemistry between every single character.

Totally not safe for my safety gang friends.

Surprised to have enjoyed this

I almost set this book aside several times. I hated the guys in the story, for most of the book. And not in a love-to-hate kind of way either. They're both terrible human beings.

It says something for Jade's writing that I persevered. Grace, the heroine, was a likable character and Brett and Thomas somewhat redeemed themselves by the end of their story. And the sex is hot and well-written.

Definitely worth checking out.

I was so excited to read this book and Jade West did not disappoint.

One Too Many is not your usual ménage hot read, no this is a Jade West ménage which means we get lots of hot, kinky not holds barred sex scenes, but the added bonus, this story is full of twists, revenge, regrets and forgiveness.

A one click must for lovers of hot, gripping reads with a storyline that will keep you turning the pages until the every end.

Title: One Too Many
Author: Jade West
Category: Erotic Romance
Series or Standalone: Standalone
POV: Various POVs
Plot: 4
Characters: 4
Heat: 4
HEA: Not telling

Jade West is one of those authors that hit the mark for me most of the time. This book is an exception because it isn't one of my favorites. That being said, the plot is refreshing, spicy and in true Jade West fashion, shocking!
I loved her male characters. Brett and Thomas spoke to me, each one with their own imperfect personality. Both strong and stubborn.
Grace is one of those heroines that didn't necessarily speak to me but I enjoyed her strong character.
The plot was interesting but unlike other Jade West books, it didn't hook me. It was lengthy but the development didn't shake me and the ending left me a bit unsatisfied.
On the other hand the chemistry between our characters really made the book for me. If you are a fan of this author then read it! If you are new to her work, I recommend it. Her books are a delight and you will be hooked!

The book is divided into three conversations:

Conversation 1: Thomas and Brett discussing Thomas proposing he fuck Grace. DISCUSSING.

Conversation 2: Brett and Grace discussing Grace's night with Thomas. DISCUSSING.

Conversation 3: Brett and Grace and Thomas discussing their menage a trois. DISCUSSING.

The other 20% has been hastily assigned to sex which is (even for someone who has read far too many shitty smut books) mediocre at best.

Stupid things heaven knows why authors think should be added in books:
1. "Mysterious" person appears and protagonists wonder WHO he/she is and then voila it is revealed they are from their part [surprise, surpsise]
2. Hero and heroine doing stupid as fuck shit
3. Barely held together "secrets" anyone with a 2-cent brain can figure out
4. Switching between several genres because why not. I mean is this book erotica is it boring contemporary romance, who knows?
5. A secret sibling. (I mean at this point, secret siblings stories should be BANNED, they are grossly overused)

Also, you see a former classmate's profile and see she is friends with the guy you are stalking AKA Thomas. You find out said girl was friends with Thomas in high school but you decide it's not the SAME Thomas because well, THEY HAVE DIFFERENT SURNAMES but seriously? You don't think someone would change their surname?

All in all, I wanted a quick end-of-the-year read. I got a boring, drab but quick reading like I wanted.
Would've liked it if the sex was better though

Wow what a journey this was! First of all let me tell you how hot hot hot the sex was 🔥🔥🔥 of course if you’re not into one too many dicks stay away as it might shock your fragile mind, but if you don’t mind dirty, hard core fucking then this is definitely for you.
As it always happens with this author her book are so much more than just smut. What binds the three characters together is more than bodily fluids, their stories start in a way and through twists and turns end in a totally unexpected way. I like the way all three of them evolve and I also like the end. West was really good in showing the everyday struggles each of them has to face and how fragile the human heart can be. How, in the end we all seek the same things, values, love, affection.
I’m hoping, this author will give us more about this story... I can’t say more least I spoil your treat, but if you read this book surely knows who I’m referring to...

This is definitely one of my hottest read for 2018, so far. Jade West never fails to push boundaries when it comes to the sexy scene, be prepared, it's HOT! And the story is intriguing and captivating at the same time and once you started reading it, you'll never put it down. Brett, Grace, and Thomas are characters that are well-thought of. With that said, I like Thomas the most, I felt where he's coming from and the things he needed to do to feel good about himself. I enjoyed this latest book from Ms. West and she never fails to amaze me how good she writes this kind of theme. In search of a steamy read? Look no further this book is for you!
