I was definitely Team Kyler, it just didn’t sit well with me how he tried playing off Ashlynn, and his’s new found connection, for the sake of others. I wasn’t crazy about his friendship with Aurora, and her tagging him in pics during their time in Italy— certain pics she shouldn’t have had access to, as “just friends.”

Also, if an author commits to something like eye color for one of her characters, in the begging of a book, continuity should be there throughout. This is really just a pet peeve of mine, and I’ve seen done it in other books, as well:

**“Kyler was attractive, tall, fit, dark hair, and the deepest brown eyes, so warm and gentle.”**

“The shirt he wore was a shade of green that only seemed to give his eyes an aqua appearance.”

“The aqua color of his eyes only seemed brighter in the lighting of the bedroom.”

We’re all about the descriptions when we read out books. The descriptions play out in our mind, it can be annoying when it’s changed up all of a sudden...

Kyler by CA Harms is beautifully written and the words just flowed. It is a story that will keep you glued to the pages wanting, needing to find out how everything plays out. C.A. Harms is an author that has this unique and awesome writing talent of pulling her readers in so they are totally enthralled in themselves and forget everything around them except the story they are reading which has her beautiful characters.
Kyler watched and wanted, from a distance. He wanted Ashlynn immediately but his best friend made a move before he could so all he could do was watch from the sidelines. Ashlynn knew something was missing from her relationship. Declarations of love one minute and suddenly pushed aside in the next. One moment her boyfriend’s selfish actions changed everything. Life would never be the same for her after his selfish actions caused her terrible pain and set the course for new sparks to set fire and spark elsewhere. Ashlynn is a woman who went thru a terrible patch and she was mourning a relationship she thought was true when she found out it never was. Kyler was her ex boyfriend’s best friend but he was also a man who has been in love with her from afar. Kyler tried to protect her from pain even at the risk to pain to himself. Slowly their romance sparks and I did like how she didn’t at first jump from the ex to Kyler. She wasn’t all about that instant love even when Kyler wanted to force that. I ached for Kyler because he has been in love with her for a long time yet Ashlynn knew nothing about that and she is trying to cope with how her life has dramatically changed in the past months and is trying to make sound decisions. There is definite heat and chemistry between Kyler and Ashlynn. I liked how Ashlynn worked thru her emotions like every woman would. Not to say there isn’t angst, drama, and twists in this story. I don’t want to give any spoilers away except to say Hold on to your Kindle for there is a bumpy ride ahead but what a awesome ride between Kyler and Ashlynn it will be!!! I so hope there will be more stories set in this world with the secondary characters introduced like Harley, Quinton and even Beau. I can’t wait for Ms. Harms next release.

Not bad, but not good.
Kyler was a bit wishy washy for my tastes.
I don’t care what they both say, his relationship with Aurora was weird.
It might have made more sense if he knew her from kids, so they were actually like siblings. But no, he meets her after being with the heroine. Upon first meeting her he is speechless and stares, to the point she laughs. I do not believe these two just saw each other as friends as they were often too close, and Kyler kept commenting about Aurora’s beauty, but he doesn’t see her like that? Yeah not believable. Why were they best friends anyway? I didn’t see some amazing connection.

The writing was fine, but everything just happened real fast. I also felt like the Aurora stuff undermines the relationship between Kyler and Ash, like a few weeks and she is his best friend, laying in bed with him, taking pics of him while he sleeps, tagging him on FB where she posts them etc no woman would be cool with that, much less one where she had been cheated on before. I just felt he had more of a solid connection with Aurora where they talked abt their life, confided in each other, as opposed to just being told he loved Ash with no clear reason why that rivaled what was shown with his "best friend" Aurora. I get the author was trying to show how he was different from Beau, and could be around a girl without cheating, but I also know he was like instantly attracted to her, got lost in her eyes so idk it just ruined the whole story for me. I just didnt feel like she needed to be such a huge part of the story in the way it was done with trying to downplay the initial attraction to brother/sister and yet still having them touch and be intimate in what came across as romantic to me.

I mean, the dialogue here is innocent but why is the OW best friend in bed with him while he is under the covers, why is she still there? It was just written so weird.

“Should I stay away for a day or two?” Aurora asked as she flopped down on the bed beside me. “I mean I know she’s a little leery of this.” She motioned between us. “And the last thing I want to do is give her more doubts.” “I wanna take her to dinner and I want you to join us.” I remained under the covers, still wiping the sleep from my eyes. “Do you think that’s a good idea?” “There’s nothing here.” It was my turn to motion between the two of us. “If we avoid one another, that’s only going to make us look guilty and there is absolutely nothing to feel guilty about.” “If you’re sure.” Aurora gave me that pointy stare of hers like she was giving me one last chance to back out. “Seven o’clock at Bitone,” I said as I stared right back. “I already made reservations for three.” I paused while we shared our few seconds of silence, both continuing to hold the other’s gaze

Also this has an unplanned pregnancy you wouldnt expect from the blurb so just a warning in case you dont like that.

I liked parts of this one but really had issues with Kyler. He was just too weak imo. I prefer a hero that goes after the girl he wants.

This story was both heart-breaking and heart-warming... These two have to go through a series of events/situations that will break them and slowly rebuilt them; making them realize what was lost; what heart-break is; self-discovery of your true self; being able to overcome your fears & insecurities; realizing the meaning of what true love is and the difference between loving someone for the long time being with that person and finding your true soul-mate <3

Kyler fell for Ashlynn the moment he laid eyes on her but she was already off limits because she was his best friend's girl... yet he stayed faithful to the love he felt for Ashlynn and when Ashlynn was left heart-broken by Beau's betrayel; instead of taking advantage and taking her, he waits, patiently, being tender, gentle and understanding with her and giving her time.

I loved Kyler so much! He was such a protective, caring, supportive, patient, honest and loving person to Ashlynn <3 I was rooting 100% for him to get his forever girl <3 :)

Ashlynn, poor girl felt hurt, defeated after Beau's betrayal and just wanted for the pain to disappear from her heart. She pushes everyone away to keep herself emotionally distant cause of her heartbreak but Kyler doesn't give up... he's there for her even when she wanted to be left alone.

It took her a while to realize that her feelings for Kyler were becoming something more but when she did, obviously she was scared; scared to love again and get hurt again, but Kyler was different than Beau... he was completely and irrevocably in love with her to the point of unconditional and unwavering love to her even when she was still with someone else. But with gentle help and patience from Kyler, she slowly opens herself to allow the love that he has to give, fill her wounded heart <3

Of course, these two go through some rough patches and obstacles, some surprises, even some secrets were discovered throughout the book, some decisions had to be made by Ashlynn but at the end, she made the right choice... she chose what her heart deeply wanted and chose her true love & soul-mate, Kyler <3 :)

This was a beautiful story and it was filled with a little bit of everything you want to read in a good story :)

Loved the epilogue <3 <3

Also, can't wait to read more stories provided by our author, C.A. Harms :) (stories that can reach deep inside our hearts and touch them and make us feel everything that the characters are feeling; like you're experiencing it right there with them).

I really enjoyed this story.

Ash has been in a relationship with Beau for over a year...it's not perfect but she's determined to make it work. Something happens that makes her realize it just isn't going to work and she chooses to end the relationship. Someone that both Beau and Ashlynn know has been waiting and watching. He actually saw her first - Kyler. Now this is book boyfriend material. I loved watching the relationship grow!

C.A. Harms is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine and this was another great read

I was pulled right into this truly emotional story. The story has laughs, betrayal, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Ashlynn’s story. Ashlynn was emotionally defeated when her boyfriend cheats on her. She totally cuts him off but he didn’t get the hint right away. Now she is dealing with having to see him all the time after he betrayed him. Beau her ex’s best friend has always been nice to her and when she starts falling for him she wonders if it’s a good idea. After all he was friends with her ex. But Beau could not have been more different. He treats her good and is a great friend. When all they though they were doing was filling the time fate has other ideas and gives them a special kind of gift. But is it what they want? Of will this and the fact that her ex is still around send them on separate paths?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

TATIA'S REVIEW

Oh, Kyler! He's caring and supportive, protective, honest. Literally everything you could want in a book boyfriend. It takes Ashlynn a little longer to realize he's what she wants. But when push comes to shove, she stays stubborn and indecisive.
CA Harms created a story that you can't help but love. I was ready for a book that was full of fluff and was low on the angst meter. Thankfully, I got it all. There were honestly times that I expected a ton of drama from some of them, but we got a taste of drama and then someone ended it. I flew through this book faster than I expected! I continue to love everything that CA Harms writes!

This book was highly engaging. The characters were very well thought out and developed. The storyline was addictive. Kyler and Ashlynn were incredible. Their story is full of plot twists and ups and downs. I have loved every character and storyline from this author. This is just another shining example of why she is one of my go-to authors.

Love all of C.A Harms books they always draw me into what is happening in the story and what the characters go through . I devoured Kyler until I got to the very end because Kyler and Ashlynn were a beautiful couple with an amazing story to tell . The couple wasn't the only thing I loved but the secondary characters were as equally likable and I can't wait to see what story they have to tell . This needs to be one clicked as soon as possible you wont regret it plus while you are at it you need to check out the rest of the authors books .

Great book

This was a great story. C.A. Harms did a great job on this story. The book had a great plot, great characters and it was very well written. I couldn't put this book down. Kyler and Ashlynn were great together. They were meant to be. The connection between Kyler and Ashlynn was strong and the chemistry was off the charts sexy. Loved how protective and obsessed Kyler was when it came to Ashlynn. He would do anything for her. I enjoyed Ashlynn and Kyler's story. They were perfect together.
This was a great read. I recommend reading. Thank you, C.A. Harms. Great work :)

I devoured this book! I was late to work and I didn't even care! I love all thing CA Harms, but this one my be my new favorite! It was sweet, funny, sexy with just enough angst to keep it true to life. Kyler may be my new favorite BBF! I found myself rooting for Ashlynn and Kyler right off the bat! The only 'problem' is that I want ALL the supporting characters to have their own stories - and I want them right now. Even Beau!

Another Five Star read from CA Harms!

I was very excited when I saw C.A. Harms had another book coming out. I have only read one other book by her, and I loved it. So, I had high expectations for this book, and she far exceeded them!
From an outsider’s perspective, Ashlynn has everything people dream about…money, looks, and a handsome, successful boyfriend, Beau. Upon closer inspection, you will soon realize those things don’t matter to her. She appreciates the small things in life. She wants more time with the parents she adores, and she is realizing her relationship with Beau is lacking. He is continually wants more. Ashlynn is unhappy, and she wonders if she will ever be enough for Beau. One night out, a huge fight, and a betrayal will force her to face those facts.

Kyler is Beau’s best friend, but just because of their relationship, doesn’t mean he approves of Beau’s treatment of Ashlynn. When he first saw her a year ago, he fell for her. But, Beau stepped in and took his opportunity away from him. He has never regretted anything so much in his life. He was a good friend and never made a move on her. He always watched and loved her from afar, but he would always step in to protect her, even if it was from his best friend. Now, that Beau is out of the picture, he is even more drawn to her. He has fought his feelings long enough, and now he is going after what matters to him most: Ashlynn!

For those readers who hate love triangles, there isn’t one in this one. I’m not usually a fan of best friends pursuing an ex, but Beau deserved what he got. He was a jerk, the exact opposite of Kyler. Kyler was sweet, loving, and loyal, always putting her first which she completely deserved. I loved seeing Ashlynn become a different person when she was with Kyler. She was more self-confident, and she became more independent. When she and Kyler get a surprise, it will test their love even further. Their relationship does develop somewhat quickly, but they were friends before. This was a romance that was the perfect combination of sexy and sweet.

C.A. Harms has a unique was of writing. It’s beautiful, even with minute details. For example, in Chapter 1, Ashlynn is being photographed by her mother. With Harms’ writing, it isn’t merely a scene between mother and daughter. She uses such vivid adjectives in that interaction…it describes exactly how Ashlynn feels about her mother, and the importance of that relationship. It was just gorgeous. That is the kind of writing that pulls you into a story. It makes you a part of it!

Lastly, this wasn’t merely a romance. It was also a journey of who Ashlynn and Kyler were and the individuals and couple they became in the end! I love those kind of books…they are my favorites!!!

Review by Lisa Kane

“Do you know how hard it’s been sitting on the sidelines watching you with the wrong guy, and being forced to just accept it?”

What if the girl you wanted was with your best friend? What if you knew you lost your chance for the one girl who is your everything?

Kyler knows Ashlynn is with Beau. He may be his friend, but Beau is no where good enough for her. He drinks too much, is under his daddy’s thumb and has a roving eye. The most Kyler can do is protect Ashlynn and watch over her. Ashlynn isn’t exactly immune to Kyler either.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts because they weren’t any I should be having about my boyfriends’ best friend.

Expect some drama from this one. When two people who should be together aren’t, things are going to get bumpy.

“I wanted you from the first moment I saw you, but instead of going to you I sat back and allowed someone else to move in on the girl I wanted. I won’t make that mistake again.”

Ashlynn is confused. Her heart tells her one thing, but she’s not sure she can trust it. Kyler’s life is taking some surprising turns and there are great things in store for him. Will she be holding him back?

“I’ll wait for as long as it takes for you to figure that out, but I can promise you one thing, I’m not walking away.”

Kyler is a good guy. It’s hard not to feel for him. He only wants the best for Ashlynn, but what if she never returns his feelings? Ashlynn frustrated me at times-look who’s right in front of you!

“I’ve been in love with you, always that guy waiting on the sidelines to comfort you when he didn’t. Ready to protect you when he should have been the one to do so.”

Ashlynn is dealing with a lot. She didn’t expect her life to take the path it is, but she knows deep down where her heart lies.

“I feel safe with you.” “You are safe with me,” his lips skimmed over mine, “and I promise you alway will be.”

**3.50**

This was my first book by CA Harms. Being the cover whore that I am, it was the first thing that I noticed. It is sexy without being total frontal guy abs. The blurb was short but sounded very promising.

Ashlynn is the daughter of two highly successful parents. It has afforded her every convenience but she’s not a spoiled brat. Beau is her boyfriend and also happens to be the son of her mom’s best friend. He’s a dirt bag who changes personality when he drinks but everyone thinks they are the golden couple. Until the night that he cheats on her in full view of their friends. That night everything changes and she sees Beau for what he really has been all the time. Ashlynn can no longer deny what her gut has been telling her all along.

Standing off on the sidelines? Kyler who happens to be Beau’s best friend. He also happens to be fighting his own feelings for Ashlynn because of the loyalty he feels to Beau. Though Beau has not been the same kind of friend to Kyler. He’s watched from the sidelines intending to do the honorable thing. Thing is you can’t control your heart.

Things escalate quickly between Kyler and Ashlynn. These young people deal with the fallout of their relationships in a very mature way. Ashlynn lets Kyler be Kyler and Kyler does the same for her. This girl has backbone and is not afraid to show it when the occasion calls for it. I loved that about her. Kyler is swoony and I loved that about him.

The secondary characters are likeable and I wanted to know more about them. That’s not always the case. How things are hashed out in the end was just how I would want it in an ideal world. Truth is I don’t pick up a romance novel for reality. It is escapism at its finest – which is how it should be. Sexy, angsty and twisty is the perfect combination.

The highest compliment I can pay CA Harms is to say that I would definitely read another one of her books.

It's the first time I wished I'd read a C.A. Harms on KU instead of auto-buying.

To be clear, this is not a really bad book. For me it just isn't up to what I consider the author's standards.

Negs: The H is kind of weak, I want a hero who will fight for the h. The characters are 22 and 26 but act very NA sometimes immature. The couple spent more time apart than together, which I wouldn't mind if they were having conversations or even arguments.

The ex-boyfriend's dad and the Italian girl "friend" the H met seemed unnecessary to the story. Particularly her being his "new best friend", their relationship bugged me big time even if platonic with her letting herself into his place, posting Facebook photos of him sleeping and all the hugging and cuddling they did. How would the H feel if the h had male "best friend" she behaved that way with? He couldn't even deal with her ex without throwing punches or arguing.

On the other hand, neither main character is unlikable (if a bit silly and wimpy at times). And the one character I thought would be the typical "best friend to the h" turned out to be one of my favorite characters. She is everything a true friend should be beneath her joking persona.

The ending is abrupt and needed more and the optional downloadable bonus chapter is free but SPOILER *************************************************************************************it's pretty much just a marriage proposal.************************

5 Stars!

I absolutely adore CA Harms and all the words she writes. She never fails to deliver a sweet, sexy, addicting romance that always hooks from the very start. Kyler is a standalone contemporary romance, her newest, and man did it tick off all the boxes that I love in romance. Unforgettable. Fun. Emotional. Unexpected. Captivating. Harms always writes the best and this is absolutely why.

When her boyfriend betrays her in one of the worst ways, Ashlynn never expects to quickly fall for her ex's irresistible best friend Kyler. He's off limits and completely unreachable...until he isn't. He's loyal. He's kind. He's there for her, defending her. He's...her friend. But when lines blur and boundaries are crossed, there's no going back.

Beau has always wanted Ashlynn but when his best friend jumped first he stepped to the sidelines. That all changes in an instant and he's now found his in with her. But she's unpredictable and unsure...until life throws them a curveball neither are prepared for. He's proved that's he's all in and now it's up to her. Will she choose him?

Emotional. Slightly angsty. Rather quick in length. Harms packs a serious punch to the heart in the incredible romance.

I highly recommend this book.

C.A. Harms is a master of romance. It doesn’t matter what type of romance it is, if she’s writing it you’re guaranteed perfection and Kyler is yet another example of that. Beautiful romance, flawlessly written, and a story that kept me glued to the pages. Kyler quickly became another in a long list of favorites from C.A. Everything about this book was wonderful!

I usually shy away from books that even slightly hint at the possibility of a triangle in the blurb, but knowing how much I love all her other books I knew I had to read Kyler and I’m SO freaking glad I did. One of the most swoon worthy heroes I’ve ever read, Kyler is EVERYTHING! He’s sweet, he’s omg so dang romantic, he’s sexy, and once again I’m going to call him sweet because that’s just necessary. Trust me, you’ll fall hard and fast for him. I certainly did.

Kyler and Ashlynn are one of those couples who you know are just meant to be together. Even as friends, the sweet protective way Kyler treats her had me chanting Team Kyler right along with Ashlynn’s best friend. Every moment of their story gripped me and had me falling in love.
