Blurb: She crashed into me on a corner, spilling coffee all over me.

Mia moved back to the mountains where her grandparents got married and lived for a bit. As she is walking and looking in the shops she runs into Jacob and spills coffee on his shirt. He was not happy with her. She slips her phone number in to the bag he is carrying and strolls on.
Jacob is hiding out in the mountains as someone has been threatening him and even trying to kill him. He calls Mia a few days later and they talk about her new job at the chocolate shop and things the had done through out the day.
As things heat up between them Jacob doesn’t call or come by for 5 days. Mia is beside herself thinking all bad things. What could be going on?
I loved the story as it was a quick and easy read but the characters were great. Mia was a go getter and Jacob a big softy deep down. The town was great to read about. I read this is one sitting it was that good.
This is a quick read and is a sweet story. The characters are great and the story flows easily. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved this story. It was such a sweet story of finding love where you least expect it. Mia has come tongue mountains for a change of scenery. To a town her grandmother and grandfather came to for holidays, got married and even brought Mia there to see how great it was. Disappointed in her job in advertising she decides to quit her job. She gets a job in a chocolate job doing something she enjoyed doing with she grandmother.
Jacob has moved to the mountains due to a strained relationship with his brother who has threatened him. He doesn't feel safe but gets by by going to town early to do shopping etc. He literally bumps into Mia and there starts a beautiful well what ever it is. After being in bed she doesn't hear from him for 5 days and it's not until he tells her what went on that she realises she really really likes him. What could of made Jacob be out for the count for 5 days? Will they have a HEA? What about his brother? I loved the whole story and the way the characters interacted with each other. A fantastic story from start to finish. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy
I read this story as part of an arc program. I really loved this romance between Mia and Jacob. Mia used to work in advertising and quit to move to a small mountain town where her grandparents used to vacation. One day when Mia was walking through town, she bumped into Jacob and spilled a coffee on him. Jacob was very rude about it, but Mia gave him her number to contact her about the dry cleaning bill. Jacob realized how rude he was and called her to apologize, this led to them starting a friendship based on phone calls which eventually lead to some steamy conversations. Jacob was scared to see Mia again because he was in hiding after attempts on his life and he wanted to keep her safe. Mia didn't know about the danger and just wanted to be with him. I really liked this book and how they fell in love. They became friends first and then more. I really liked Jacob and thought he was a really good guy. Good one.
Charlize Starr is an excellent writer and she has proven it again with this mountain man romance. Jacob a billionaire is hiding on the mountain in a cabin built by his grandfather. Someone has made repeated attempts on Jacob's life so he is staying in the cabin until he can decide what to do. Mia quit her advertising job and moved to the town to start over. They meet when Mia bumps into Jacob spilling coffee all over his shirt. Jacob calls Mia to apologize for his rudeness and they hit it off. After weeks of conversing over the phone they meet again for a one-night stand. Jacob is leery of developing a relationship with Mia and placing her in danger. Who has been trying to kill Jacob? Will they find him on the mountain? “Hungry Mountain Man” is an outstanding read, a wonderful romance and a book I truly recommend. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Honestly, the only reason I started reading this when I did is because I had a couple of hours to kill at work and wanted to read something I could finish in that time. I didn't have high expectations done I'm kind of over the whole "Mountain Man" thing. That being said, I was surprised at how much I liked Hungry Mountain Man. The main story was well done with a suspense arc to it that kept me interested. I really liked both main characters and was surprised at some of the feels. There was one part when I got that warm-tingly-tight-chest feeling and actually paused in my reading because it caught me off guard. Overall, this is a great read and I'm more than thrilled that I picked it as my time filler. Hungry Mountain Man ends at about 15% and included several additional novels/novellas.
When Mia leaves her thankless job in the city to move to this little mountain town, the last thing she expects to find is a gruff mountain man named Jacob. When Jacob retreats to his great-great-grandfather's cabin to avoid his brother's attempts to kill him, the last thing he expects to find is a sassy, take no prisoners beauty named Mia. Now that they've found each other, can they manage to keep each other? Great read with great characters! Loved it! I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and am leaving my honest review.
Realizing she's not happy, Mia decides to start over in the little mountain town her grandparents loved. Jacob is hiding from his problems in the same town. Their first meeting results in a coffee stained shirt and rude behavior. Despite first impressions the two strike up "phone" friendship. When Mia and Jacob meet face to face again, sparks fly. What will happen when Jacob's problems find him? Will Mia find the love like her grandparents had?
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Short, fast paced little story. She packs a lot of character development in, thanks to their relationship developing over phone calls after their meet cute. Jacob is afraid of getting involved with anyone until he figures out who means him harm. Mia is quite brave in ditching her boring and unfulfilling advertising job and escaping to the little mountain town that her grandparents used to bring her to. It's a close call, but they get their HEA with chocolate and whiskey. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A lovely romance between Mia and Jacob, even if it didn’t start like that. Mia is new to the mountain town and runs into Jacob, who is hiding just outside the town. She accidently spills coffee on Jacob... then the story beginns. It was nice to have a girl - Mia - who is so straight forward with what she thinks, feels and so on. She does it without being ’too much’. Jacob started out as a angry, soure guy, but he turned out to be a very caring one. It was a nice read that put a smile on my face.

Mia is tired of her job. She decides to start over in a small town that her grandparents got married at. She actually walks into Jacob and spills her coffee on him. He is very rude to her. She finds a job at a chocolate shop. Mia and Jacob keep thinking about each other, but Jacob is in hiding and not sure what to do. Will they start talking to each other? Will they see each other? Will something happen to Jacob since he is hiding out and does not want anyone to know where he is? I received an arc copy for my honest review.
Characters = 4/5 Plot = 4/5 Romance = 4/5 Mystery = 1/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 1/5 Humor = 2/5 Stars = 4 ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ Would I read future books by this author = Yes
Cute and short. The novella needed more action towards the end but overall it was good. The romance that blooms is nice to see. It'a a good old fashioned type where you talk on the phone for hours getting to know the person. Mia and Jacob were both likeable. Mia is independent and whitty while Jacob is protective and alone.
It's a short simple story with twists. Mia quitted her job to move to mountains. She was a publicist but she was starting to hate her job. What she doesn't expect, is to meet a man like her, who escaped his usual life for his safety, and to like him. So, the story can seem a little simple, but it's short and in fact, it's enough pages to keep the rythme and be exciting. Some chapters are hot too. ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest Mia was tired of the city life. She decided to shake things up + she moved to the mountains. Jacob moved to the mountains to escape his famly for a while. It was such a sweet story of finding love where you least expect it. I loved the storytelling + the characters The storytelling + the character's build were awesome!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is one of the few books that I have read about a romance that has drama, intrigue, twists & turns, greed, lust, emotional feelings and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of doubt, fear, needs & desire. I would recommend this book to people who like to read this kind of book.
Mia! It seems your mountain man is hungry for you. And the feeling is mutual!
It was just a phone call… Oh, my stars! Is it hot in here? I may need to turn on the AC… and it’s snowing outside! Oops, there goes my Kindle… smokin’ again! Oh, you-two-are-so-naughty!
But there’s more. There’s friendship and laughter. And yes, it must be love. But danger stalks the mountain. Take care.
Bottom line: So good I couldn’t put it down until I read it all. 5 stars.
Mia had moved to the little mountain town that her Nan and Grandad had loved to get away from the rat race that was just getting her down, needing a fresh start. Jacob was hiding out trying to figure out what to do about the treat to his life. He had an idea who it was but had no proof, when he bumped into a woman he couldn't stop thinking about. Great read with an unusual start to a relationship with some hot parts with twist or 2 thrown in.
A quick, sweet and entertaining read. Jacob is hiding out in his grandfather's mountain cabin because he thinks someone is trying to kill him and Mia moves to the small mountain town after quitting her job. They literally bump into each other and slowly build a relationship. But Jacob is worried about Mia's safety but will he be able to stay away from her. This is a quick, steamy and suspenseful love story. Jacob is mysterious, funny, charming and engaging. Mia is sweet, lively and thoughtful. The storyline and characters are intriguing, and the end is perfect. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Heartbeat Reads. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
This book had a good storyline and was a fast read.. I enjoy reading about Jacob and Mia..There was some suspense and intrigue that kept the book hopping..I would recommend if you wanted a quick read about a sexy Mountain Man and the woman he literally runs into. How their lives merge and they come together as more than friends
