From the author of the science fiction epic The Project-“Moscato displays a brilliance and creativity that is spellbinding.” -G. Slagle, Goodreads
A science fiction mystery series that spans the globe.
Thousands of clones are being born fully grown, popping out spontaneously all over the world. They all share the same DNA and have no idea where they came from. They are John Smith.
Multi-genre author, Johnny Moscato, brings another altered reality to life in this science fiction mystery series. How will the world deal with the John Smith Phenomenon? Who’s responsible? Can it be stopped?
And, what do you do with a hundred thousand human clones?
Each Being John Smith book is “written by” or about a different John Smith.
Johnny Moscato brings out a compelling sci fi mystery in John Alva Smith (Being John Smith Book 1)! Hundreds of thousands of clones, all known as John Smith, suddenly appear leaving everyone to wonder where they came from and why they were made. I love the mystery Moscato has set up and his style in telling each story from a different John Smith’s perspective! The novel can occasionally feel like you’re being told a story rather than being right in the action experiencing it, but I didn’t find this distracting and ultimately loved the twists of this one! Moscato builds some wonderful and compelling realistic sci fi worlds so be sure to look for his works if you want a thrill backed by depth!
This is an interesting start to a series and certainly opens the door to all sorts of questions like nature vs nurture. Several adult clones just start popping up around the globe with no knowledge of how they got there, but with basic human instincts of survival and the ability to speak.
This book is told from the point of view of one of the John Smiths and the premise i think is that each book is told from another John Smith, expanding on the mystery. Like this author's previous works, it's a lot of sci-fi, but commentary on society at the same time
A great short story. Brilliant writing coupled with a plot that makes your brain wander with possibilities. A quick, but enriching read. So many questions, I'm glad I have time to think about it but still I can't wait for more of this series. This is a MUST READ. Don't even bother with the descriptions of the book. JUST READ IT. You'll love it.
