Letting the love of my life go is my greatest regret in this world. Now that I have her sole attention for two full weeks, I’m determined to be her friend but also show her a world she has never seen or felt before.
No one knows who hurt me so badly that dating became a thing of the past. Not even the woman that broke my heart knows she did it. Watching her life unfold as her friend for years has at least kept us connected on some level. Now I’m ready to take the chance I gave away.
Before we land back in the states I plan to be well on my way to us being Mr. and Mrs. Miguel Parks. If she will do me the honor. Even tho she has stated multiple times some woman was crazy to let me go. Will she feel that way when she finds out she was the one I let slip away?
I get wanting to sell your books but to fake your own death and then come back with no remorse for hurting so many and taking their money. Shame on you
I listened to this one in audio. It was a solid listen. The book dealt with the challenge of letting go and moving on after the loss of the loved one and how some times love can be found in unexpected places. I wanted a bit more from the story and at times I didn't always connect with the narrator's style. But overall a solid listen.
Author pretended to die by self on her social media and then announced she actually didn’t and it was a lie. Let’s not support the person who laughs at suicide and treats mental illness as a fun popularising thing.
If you read Wall Street's story in Chance Encounters and fell head over heels then buckle up because Miguel's story is even better. If you remember Miguel is Blake (Wall Street's) best friend. Let's just say Miguel's story is full of surprises and happenings you never see coming. Susan really lays her heart out on the line for this one. It's a truly amazing story and to me is written in a unique dialogue that has you hearing the characters voices in your head in whatever tone of voice it's being said in. Now Miguel finally has the chance to get back the love of his life. Only problem is she's having to let go and move on with her life before he can make his move. Finally after almost a decade will Miguel be able to lay claim what should've been his from the get go? I can't put into words how much I loved this book! I couldn't put it down and in my opinion it surpasses Chance Encounters but not by much. I cannot wait to see what Susan has up her sleeve for Book 3!!
his has been a great series. Can't wait to see what is next. Susan is a great author and Chance Encounter Series is a most read. If you haven't already.

Letting Go (Chance Encounter Book 2) This has been a great series. Can't wait to see what is next. Susan is a great author and Chance Encounter Series is a most read. If you haven't already.
Okay so while the first Chance Encounters was a romance and involved romance of generic Dollar General book variety with not much meat, this one falls back into her trope of always having a lost loved one. Grief is Susan's favorite flavor.
An open letter: Susan we got to talk about your grieving romanticization. You keep doing it this is the third book you've done it in.
It's really telling that you faked your own death and you romanticize lost love, dead loved ones, and The grieving process. This is not a good running trend with you since you faked your own death. This is red flags galore. I can't believe it took everyone two years to realize your books were nothing but red flags. In fact, had I read these books earlier before you're supposed "death", I would have called them basic novels. Nothing special. Three star DG reads. But faking your suicide has made them shine in a different light.
I don't know why the first one is third person and then we switch to this one we're even the blurb is first person. You really need to consider consistency. Besides the grieving romanticization consistency you like to do.
Please get help, realize romanticizing loss is not a good idea. And improve yourself. You still can come back from this in the future but it's very unlikely that you'll ever get that popularity you're thirsting for like you are the grieving loss romance. Get help, get therapy, talk to people about this, and maybe pursue a different path in life. But if you want to keep writing I'm going to probably keep reading because these books all are the same at this point.
Two years after losing Blake, Emily is still suffering from his loss. Miguel, who has loved Emily for the past thirteen years has sat back and allowed for her to take the time to mourn. But the time has come to bring her out of her shell. He gives her a note from Blake and then promptly takes her on a transformational vacation. During this time we find out just how much she suffered in her marriage to Blake. It wasn’t all happiness and rainbows. There were real issues. But she kept things quiet because she loved him and his family. But now is the time for her to start living. Miguel wants her to come to him in her journey. He has kept his love for her a secret from her. Only two other people knew how he felt. It is his time. But there will be some roadblocks that need to be jumped over and moved through before they can finally achieve the happiness that they both so richly deserve.
This book continues the story beyond the heartbreak of book 1 and "Wall street's" death. This is 2 years after and Emily is still holding and hurting. Grief is deep and personal, no one but you can tell you when enough is enough and to " Let go". This story takes us on a journey with Emily as she learns how to let the past be in the past and to move on, regardless of who feels they have been betrayed. Secrets come out, truths and lies all mixed together and friendships are tested. Can Emily weather this storm and finally live the life she was always ment to have?? Fantastic read....cannot wait for the final installment in this series.
I was gutted when Chance Encounter was an brilliant story but I was gutted with how it ended. I couldn't wait to read Letting Go.
Miguel's story touched me straight away and pull at my heartstrings right to the end. This book has quite the emotional rollercoaster ride and it keep me hooked from the beginning until the last word.
Miguel has been waiting thirteen years for the woman that broke his heart, but did she really? It was torture for him to watch her being with his best friend, she was so near but yet so far away
Emily has to let go of her past before she can find her future. Will Miguel be her second chance at love? All I will say is, this ending made me happy, I wanted more.
I was torn between three and four stars. So, I’m giving it a 3 and a half. It was confusing at first to stay on track with the story because even though the author introduced the POV, there was some switching inside that chapter. Since it’s 1st person, it threw me off. Honestly, other than that, I enjoyed the storyline. I felt for Emily and wanted what was best for the main characters. This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to reading more of this author’s works.
Blackmail, lies, theft, manipulation this book has all of the taboos. All the secrets and lies come out now that 2 years have passed since his death. He left instructions and now's the time to put them into actions. Well that didn't go over well and now it's time for Emily to show what she's made of. Great story with plenty of action and intrigue. Plenty of twist and turns pepper this read and keep you turning pages. This author is quickly finding her place in the book world and getting comfy.
Why does losing someone throws a monkey wrench into the gears of life. She was his friend, he loves her, he gave her away. Sometimes when we do something for someone else's life, we wreck our own. Now he has another chance to have her in his life. He has a chance to love her and maybe if fate gives it to him, marrying her. This book pulled and pushed me around. It made me cry and laugh. Susan writes in a way that makes you feel like it could happen to you or someone you love.
Letting Go was the second book in the Chance Encounter series, but great as a stand-alone. Although I am going to go and read the first book. This was a wonderful book and full of emotions that you could feel reading the book. The characters are well defined, and the storyline is strong. A definite must read!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in The Chance Encounter series. This is Miguel’s story. Miguel has a secret, he’s watched his soulmate fall and love and live her dream with someone else. Problem is he’s a player. I loved learning who she is and watching his journey. Another emotional must read by Susan Meachen!
If you haven’t added this yet, go! Definitely a story worthy of 5 stars!!
A story line that's well written. The author does a great job of grabbing the reader's attention, pulling them in and holding their attention til the end. The characters are enjoyable and the chemistry between them is realistic.

this was a really touching story! she has dealt with grief for years. no her friend who has stuck by her wants to finally make his move. so he plans a trip that will maybe finally let her husband go and to move one. read to find out what happens.
To grow from protected innocent to treasured princess. Only to find no matter your love your partner will always put themselves first. Already much pain to carry alone. Then descover you missed so much along the way...
Just when you think someone you care for has been through the wringer and you try to comfort them its hard to be so understanding when they dont see whats right in front of their face. But then again sometimes you have to hit that brick wall head first to understand.
This is the second book in this series and I can't wait to see what Susan has planned for us next! Or if my heart can take it! This book is full of suspense & thrills! I couldn't put it down!
I loved this book. If you read Chance Encounter this book is a must read. I was pulled in and couldn’t put it down until I finished. You will go on one emotional ride but well worth it in the end. Can’t wait for more from this author.
